Tanitha: Scheduled times never change. Once a time is locked in, its locked in...
Until then, it will give you a time that the battle will not happen before.
IE 10.30+ means that battle is scheduled later than 10:30
Understanding how the moving and battle timing works, is important to avoid having too many battles at the same time, and to try and get your opponent battling on many fronts at the same time.
Many tactics are used by clans to change battle times, counter attacks..
getting allies or reserve clans to attack you, or attack enemy to adjust battle times to your liking, etc..
If you dont understand how the timing works, and your enemy does. Then that can be a big problem.

Competition Details

North American Timezone
World of tanks Developers and Moderators will be elevating the "Kill the Mod" event to a new level. We are proud to present you our “Save Private Andrew Ryze” event on the 29th of May from 6:00 PM UTC (1:00pm EST USA), from this time we will form platoons and play in random battles for up to 2 hours.
The rules and procedures of the event are as follows:
- In each platoon there will be "RyAn" on a T1-2 tank. The objective of the friendly team is to protect him.
- If "RyAn" stays alive, each player from the team will receive 250 Gold (even if the battle will be lost).
- If "RyAn" is killed and the team losses, each player from the opposite team will earn 250 Gold + the ‘killer’ will receive additional 250 Gold
- If "RyAn" is killed, but the team wins, only "RyAn’s" killer will receive 250 Gold
- There will be up to 7 platoons participating in 10 battles per platoon randomly during that 2 hour period.
Additional Game specifics.
"RyAn" will be named RyAn01WG, RyAn02WG, RyAn03WG, etc...
"RyAn" will be platooned with a protector tank driven by a moderator/support staff or developer.
Oceania Timezone
The competition (as detailed above) will also be held in the Oceania timezone and will commence at Midday UTC which equates to the below times, and from this time we will form platoons and play in random battles for up to 2 hours.
Midday UTC = 7pm Indonesia time
Midday UTC = 8pm West Australia / China time / Philippine time.
Midday UTC = 10pm East Australia time
Midday UTC = midnight New Zealand
Alterations to the above rules for this timezone.

This game is what it is, It has it's ups and it has it's downs. What pleases you may not please others. It was never advertised as a Sim and I don't think it would be much fun for the masses if it was a sim. Also this is a world wide free MMO and anyone can play, kids, adults, anyone. With regards to players skills, You must remember we were all nooblets once even you and yes your going to have bad matches or sometimes bad nights...Lord knows I do...So you might as well get used to the fact that you can't win them all and that your wins are someone else's bad nights dude...it's all relative.
I strongly suggest that if you really want to seriously help make an impact in-game, Try helping out those you feel need it and encourage them rather than tear them apart on the forums. You may not win all your battles that way, but you will win friends and respect.

And our program doesn't require any additional information transfer - everything is running fine out from our host to the next junction (with whom they have a routing agreement), but not through Level3. The hosting webservers are the same quality, capacity, and configuration as the ones we have set up in Russia hosting over 150,000 concurrent users with little to no lag, so it's definitely not a software leak. We're still working with them, and with Caronet, to get this fixed. Most of the lag is gone for most players, but we do understand about the spikes. I get routed through there myself, and it can be a major pain when a lag spike hits and my FPS drops.
As for the Australian players, sorry mates - it's a long way to our servers from there. We're always looking into expanding though, so keep an ear out for news in that area.

Tanitha: I believe parts also have HP. And I dont know how many hit points tracks have.
But in 6.4 we went to the 3 part track system, with the middle of the tracks having a lot of HP's. IE to make it harder to track people.
So if the tracks have 400 HP for example. They will need to be hit for 200 to be injured, 400 to break.
If you hot the track for 350, it would then be injured, but not enough for it to break and to track them.
Taking 350 hps off the tracks, doesn't shoe as a Hotpoint loss on the tank itself.
Overlord has stated, there currently is no problems with damage, and most shots that hit and do no damage, something is damaged like tracks.

@Jackal - Our host is working to find a route around it. They are connected to the Internet. You have hit the nail on the head when you say that neither of us can control the route between us, and that's why we're probably irked even more at this than you are. If you think you're losing a couple of dollars worth of Premium days, imagine how much more we're losing in revenue? We actually want this game to be fun - not a laggy soupfest. Also, we know about the support issues. We're establishing a separate North American support group, but that's still in progress. I believe that will help us immensely.

@Quineloe - WoT /= WoW and WN /= Blizzard. They've had about 8 years to build up an enormous infrastructure and they had huge launch issues. We're still less than two months out of launch, and we're addressing as many issues as we can in each patch. And we don't charge a monthly fee for service - we only ask you to pay if you like the game, and only pay for what you want. Let's see Blizzard match that!

@Chewie (again) - See above on NA support staff. We don't have US offices yet, but as soon as we do we'll have some more staff in here. Soon, I hope! As you can see, I'm staying busy!  :Smile-playing:

@Jackal40 - Precisely, except that CaroNet doesn't have a contract with Level3, so it's like we're trying to leverage a lever to a lever... or something. Hence the delay in the process, and the lack of information.
@Washbang (yet again) - That would mean finding a new hosting company and moving the data with possible corruption, lots of server downtime, and no guarantee it would be any better.

Would Verizon do that?

ChrisK: If the customer's connection to our service were interrupted by a failure of our host or their gateway, we would of course acknowledge that and everything would have been fixed many days ago. In this case, obviously, that is not the problem.
I hope this clears up the cause of the issue for everyone. I know you're frustrated - so are we - but we're still doing what we can to find a way around the bad node to clear up the traffic, because, like Disney World, we actually want people to visit us, and we know that even when the roadblocks aren't our fault, it will still keep people out.

ChrisK: Chaos, I totally agree with you on that - and I'm not trying to defend that decision. I have recommended otherwise as an advocate of the players, but it is not my decision to make. What I am trying to clarify, is that the broken node causing the lag spikes due to packet loss is not within our power to fix, since it's not ours (and in fact, we can't "sue" them for the loss, any more than you can).

The spotting (when it's not due to lag), matchmaking, and balance. That's all us bro, and we're working on it. :Smile_honoring:

ChrisK: @One, we're not dictating the route either. We provide one end of each packet's travel route, you provide the other. In the case of Disney, you choose the route yourself. In the case of the Internet, there are switches and routers along the way that choose the route your packets will follow. What we're trying to do is both encourage the problem to be resolved by the owner of the broken node and find a way to route your packets around the broken node.

@HullBuster, that's a good point - it looks like the node was beginning to have problems a month ago, culminating in the most severe issues right around patch release. You would think they would have replaced it with new equipment by now, right?

ChrisK: Washbang, I appreciate your highly interesting personal information; however, the analogy is exactly correct, even as you pointed out. Disney doesn't pay for the road from your house to their door, and we don't pay for the internet between our host and your modem. In both cases, we each use a supporting infrastructure operated, repaired, and controlled by third parties. This is the problem.

ChrisK: Not really trying to be sarcastic, but it is apparent that some people don't understand that we are about as responsible for Level 3's performance as they are and may need a simpler analogy. It's a part of the internet that is in between the player and the server. Unfortunately, because the broken part is near our host, it bottles up traffic for a large part of our customers. I wouldn't know how to contact Level 3 to complain, or how much effect that would actually have, but it would likely be more productive than complaining in here to other players. If we could fix it ourselves, it would have been fixed already!  :Smile-izmena:

ChrisK: This is like going to Disney World and demanding a refund because they are open 10-10 and you left at 9 and got stuck in a 2-hour traffic jam along the way and missed an hour. The Internet backbone, like the roads, are not controlled by us. The "roads" are clear on our end, and we expect they are clear on your end as well. If the stoplight is broken downtown, it's not our fault; however, we are trying to find alternate routes to help your travel go more smoothly. The fact that it broke right around the time of our patch has turned out to be a bad coincidence. We're continuing to work the issue, but there is little we can do about Level3 - they're not our provider, and not even a provider to our provider! Perhaps if you all sent emails to Level3 to ask them to fix their routing point, that might actually get more results than blaming your destination for the state of the roads... :Smile_harp:
