View PostCummunist, on 02 June 2011 - 01:17 PM, said: Why do I find so many people lacking this?

ARGO: The same reason why when a beutiful girl walks by and all the guys loose all motor skills, gawk and druol.
The same reason why when you tell a child not to do something, he does it anyway.
The same reason why a dog is normally obediant until there is food around.
The same reason why the more kids you put in one place the more chance of them doing something really really stupid.
The same reason you go out drinking on Friday, get sick as a dog, then tell your friends about it over some drinks Saturday night.
The same reason why half your team leaves a cap to chase a Maus then get owned.
The answer is simple.
It isn't because they are lacking it, it's because they don't use it when they only see the prize........Oh and BTW, it's also the same reason in a month or so I will be cutting and pasting this reply to another guy asking the same question......

Mad_Hatter: It may vary from a day to a week, or even more, depending on the work load of people in charge of it and on the number of such winners/contests :)

View Postjeyes56, on Jun 01 2011 - 15:23, said: Thanks, now i know, ^^
so, today, we can only earn gold through clan wars?
1.)how to join a clan wars?
2.)do i need to become a premium first to be able to join the clan wars?
3.)is there any restriction on clan wars?

Mad_Hatter: As stated above, you need to join a clan if you want to partake in Ultimate Conquest. And that does not require being premium in any sense, but you do need vehicles Tier 5 and above. You can find existing clans here. Or create your own one :) And here is the Ultimate Conquest Tutorial, which explains the clan wars in general.

Why are German tanks so awful in this game?

Link on message: #594455

ARGO: I may be going out on a limb here but having read a dozon or so similar threads to this one I think the issue needs to be looked at in a entirely new direction. We can sit here and go on and on about History, stats, game engines, ect. We can pour over game dynamics and mathmatics, we can fight over exacting numbers for pen or calibur but for me, it's not about any of that crap, it is simply what works best for me and what makes me happy. In terms of this game, I have been playing pretty much since day one. I have been up and down ALL the trees so far between BETA and now. I have had the opportunity to try nearly everything in the game so I am not going to feed you all a one sided opinion on what is or what is not any good. I am just going to say that in my own personal experience that I have found on more than one occasion that what people say is garbage I have found to be good and vice versa. I suppose it's one of those "to each his own" theories but I myself always get curious when I hear somethings crap or OP. Here is my opinion of the trees based on my own experiences........
German tree, Reach out and touch someone:German TDs: Hetzer, StugII, Ferdi, Jagtiger = Awesome TDs and scarey accurate. My personal favorite bar none.
German Arty: What can't be said more about the hummel, It's an arty that thinks it's a TD! excellent machine.
Tiger Tank: Yes, I said Tiger as in Tiger I...I love this tank because it does not miss. Fun to play, gets snipers.
Maus: This thing is absolute evil incarnate...It hits really hard and just will not go down easy..Big lols in this.
Leo: The ultimate harrassment vehicle, nothing can screw a battle up more than having this bugger loose in your base.
VKs.3601H 3001P ect. Best in what a meduim is and real descent fire power, they are both keepers and $$$ makers.
American tree,The jack of all trades:
is full of goodies, the Arty is great "especially priest" the mediums are nice and fast with good armour, The Heaives will give your enemies heartburn trying to kill them, and the premium tanks are all good too! American trees can really be sumed up as what I think is the most well rounded tree yet. BTW the T-29 to me is as fun as an IS4....seriously.
Russian tree: Strong like bull....and hits like one too!
This tree is tough on your patients "lights and mediums" but worth it once you get up the tiers. The arty is devastating and the TDs get good from SU-85 up. I liked the heavies from KV3 up and as far as the mediums...T-44 and T-54 were good. The IS4 is my favorite Russian tank, it's good out of the box and only gets better. In short the Russian tanks for the most part give up speed and accuracy for fire power and armour.
So in short, If you like to brawl up close and personal and punch your foe in the face, Get Russian.
If you wanna take your enemies apart and make them cry and rage before they can touch you? Get German.
If you want the happy mix between speed, power, accuracy, and armour, Get American.
Me, I like a nice mix in my garage for whatever mood I am in....

Tanitha: 8 hours for Tier3? you can play more then one game a hour you know?
You can even exit the game if you die, and move onto the next tank.
With double Exp, you really only need 1-2 games on a T1, and about 4 on a T2.
So 45 mins or something like that for a T3..
You also know,, that the higher the enemy you are shooting, the more exp you earn, right?
Stay behind the bigger tanks, and pick your targets wisely. If you run off solo tackling bigger tanks solo, then sure one of them will shoot you.

Tanitha: Depending where you are in USA, and where hotspot is. Forcing your "route" to go to hotspot and back could be a long detour.
However with it being different streets, hopefully it bypassed known traffic jams.

I do dispute the statement that most of the current problems are coming from remote areas. I live around one of the 5 or 6 largest cities in the U.S. and have significant lag issues because my route traces through Charlotte.

Tanitha: Using hotspot shield, I dont even go through charlotte any more. Its a different route which reduced my lag and ping by 1/2.
Try it for usa too if you like, and with pingplotter, and let me know how it goes..
Sure some of usa goes through charlotte too, but its not effecting things to the extent of the ping being that high you cant even login to wot.. IE 700-850 like it is for a lot of aus (mainly telstra).

Aussie Lag Again

Quote World of Tanks is not just a great game, it’s also a complex client-server application in which the client (installed on your PC) and server (hardware cluster in a data center) exchange data packets with each other. These packets contain information such as the position of your vehicle on the map, shots fired, and computations for penetration and damage. The majority of calculations related to the game mechanics of World of Tanks are server-side, thus significantly limiting the possibility of any cheating and hacking.
The Journey of Your Internet Packets
To navigate the Internet, with its millions of nodes, a packet must travel through many intermediate network systems (including routers, bridges, and gateways) before it reaches its final destination.
The three main routes packets go through on their way from your PC to our game server are:
1) Your local Internet Service Provider (ISP), which provides your access to the Internet using copper, wireless, or fiber-optic connections. In some cases, changing your ISP may be the only solution for severe connection issues.
2) The regional Backbone provider supplies access to high-speed transmission lines that connect users and/or local ISPs to the Internet. These lines form the backbone of the Internet and are the true “Information Superhighway.”
3) Our Data Center houses the computer systems and associated components, such as telecommunications and storage systems, that power our end of the game. This includes redundant or backup power supplies and data communications connections.
If any of the equipment en route is not functioning properly or is overloaded, this can lead to data transmission delay or packet loss. Packet loss occurs when one or more packets of data traveling across a computer network fail to reach their destination.
When caused by network problems, lost or dropped packets can result in highly noticeable performance issues, including lag. Because of this lag, game information received from the server is delayed, and you may not see any changes taking place on the battlefield. This is what leads to the appearance of vehicles teleporting across the map, delays in firing, etc.
If you experience heavy lag, we recommend that you find your “trace route” to our game server. In Windows, start a Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd), then type “tracert 174.34.231.132”. This should also work for any third-party tracking application. Send the results to our Support Services by opening a support ticket. We are grateful for your cooperation and patience in helping us resolve these issues.
Release 6.4 and Recent Lags on the US Server
The recent release of the version 0.6.4 update has led to an increase in the amount of traffic which affected our previously stable network connections. The lag issue on the US server is local, however it does affect a large part of the Eastern United States (and all related traffic that goes through it). The servers in our data center are working fine and their capacity is sufficient for the time being.
The first reports of severe lag were received on May 19th, and we started investigating the issue both in our data center in North Carolina and along the packet routes to it, paying special attention to those going through the CaroNet Hosting network. As a result of the analysis, CaroNet made some changes to outbound traffic parameters on May 20th to exclude routes via Level3 (another service provider). On our end, we have reconfigured the server equipment several times so as to optimize the traffic structure and flow, and to minimize the load on local ISPs, reducing packet loss and ensuring as smooth gameplay as possible. The improvement is still partial pending routing issues to be sorted out by the backbone provider at the earliest possible date.
We apologize for the recent lag issues and any inconvenience caused. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Tanitha: Most of the current problems are coming from remote area's such as the remote area's of Australia or people using Telstra for some examples.
We again apologize for the situation, and will continue working on the issue from our end, and also with the network companies in control of the traffic jams.
If you wish to help get your particular lag issues fix, please provide us with information in the following format.
1. Download pingplotter from here. LINK
2. Connect to login-master.worldoftanks.com
3. Let it run for a few minutes, and settle.
4. Screen capture it.
5. Paste it into a graphics program, and cut the first few steps which show your local IP.
6. Upload it to a image website. like LINK
7. Link the photo into a reply, as below.. Putting it in a spoiler would be nice if you know how.

As above, because the problem is mainly with traffic jams in the internet streets. You can force your computer to take a different street with a VPN system, which is similar to a proxy. There is many paid VPN systems out there, that are approximately $10 a month, But i prefer to use the free one, Hotspot shield. Its free because it installs adverts into your browser. However these adverts can be switched off with "add block plus" a firefox/crome addon. Which then just leaves you a free and add free VPN service.
Running hotspot currently reduces my ping by approximately 350.

It might help some of the players who experiencing problems with their route to World of Tanks.
Paid VPN will probably provide a better solution, but the free one above works ok.
Please keep us up to date with your problems, and we will keep you up to date with our progress.

Running hotspot currently reduces my ping by approximately 350.

It might help some of the players who experiencing problems with their route to World of Tanks.
Paid VPN will probably provide a better solution, but the free one above works ok.
PS 350 is a normal ping from remote West Australia where I am..
Please keep us up to date with your problems, and we will keep you up to date with our progress.

Temporary Helper
As above, because the problem is mainly with traffic jams in the internet streets. You can force your computer to take a different street with a VPN system, which is similar to a proxy. ChrisK: The Merkava is my favorite too, even though I have over 22 years in the US Army (but I also earned Israeli airborne wings in the Negev Desert in 1995 and was very impressed by their capabilities!). I'd take the Merk over an Abrams anytime, but the Leopard 2A6 is pretty much its match. Although they both do different things better, each is better than the Abrams. I'd equate the Challenger to the Abrams, with the armor edge to Challenger but the FCS edge to Abrams. As for the rest of the world, they're far behind. :Smile-hiding:
