Draschel: that is changing HE mechanics. Not nerfing it. And certainly not
nerfing HE AMMO. Tell me, besides EBR, which HE ammo
was actually nerfed? You need to
understand semantics. Implications. Precise reality. What is
posted as a theoretical, but truthful nevertheless value. Not
practical application. Practical application, we control in the
game. since when has practice ever mimicked theoretical
estimation

Draschel: A jag panzer can have its HEAT increased x5 to 2100
penetration, yet it can still shoot a tank gun
barrel, track, angle at over 85 and bounce for 0 An
HE shell with even 1 penetration, can shoot a tank track
at perfect side scrape and deal damage. Not
anymore, good riddance

Link on message: #12890990

Draschel: it is.That is why nearly a decade ago, WG reduced HE effects
with the depicted Matilda 16-part armor model. because it was
dealing too much damage. Because non-aimed HE fire from even a tier
6 like M6 firing 90mm HE could deal 100+ damage to is7. After this
patch, HE took a massive hit and really required bore size to
do anything, HE started dealing many 0 damage hitsAnd......not
even a year ago was it? The same patch as stun duration
nerf, they nerfed burst radius too. There are countless HE
nerfs across patch history. Because HE simply does too
much And not only that, HE won't even do what it is told to
do. Full health Lower, is6 shoots HE and deals 200
damage. 13 HP Lowe is6 shoots HE deals 0. There
are many problems with HE. And no single one is solely to
blame for constant change. All are. I have been playing since
2011, with 5 heavy tank 3 marks. In its many damning applications
and concern, HE has been one of the most infuriating things for me
in a heavy gold spam in the form of APCR or
HEAT still follows games mechanics and rules and objects.
Meaning, it still needs aim. Actually, HE has the higher chance to
always deal some damage than premium ammo has the change to always
penetrate. HE even before 1.13 could deal 0, but the chances were
certainly lower than HEAT or APCR not penetrating. HE
doesn't just doesn't fit. Now, it has been made to fit
more so, to conform to game rules other ammo follow. And this
is good for the game. premium spam is more common,
i don't doubt that. But still conforms to game rules and
models. is it a crutch, well in some ways. But
premium spam in an unskilled oaf, can still lead to
common 0 damage games. Hard to get 0 damage games
in 1,400 damage HE jag panzer or type 5.The methods you take,
as a heavy or assault TD, to defend against AP are the same
you use guarding against APCR and HEAT. All that thrown out
the window vs pre 1.13 HE. Broken.

Draschel: While the top speed is slightly low, HP/T
reverse traverse are good. I don't think the mobility is
crap.....Unless you compare every single medium tank to
progetto, Lis, and bourrat. Which is unfair, to say the
least

Edselman, on Aug 06 2021 - 03:01, said: HE complaints were virtually nonexistent compared to the
amount of complaints about mm, map design, arty, premium ammo, no
weakspots, . . . Don't pretend the HE changes weren't
motivated by the fact that it was sometimes used as a gold ammo
substitute against tanks with no weakspots. They were far down the
radar and only a select few complained about it.
Link on message: #12890965

Draschel: HE spam has existed forever. It existed even when there
were weakspots plenty, on most tanks around, and uparmored no
weakspot tanks weren't common at all. HE nerfs, also were a thing
too, to combat this complaint. Again, not a new phenomenon, that
existed far before no-weakspot tanks were common or general
uparmoring. And as for map design, MM, arty, weaknesses those
commonly are changed too. While your statement isn't
necessarily incorrect, in that HE has been used that way - it is
very presumptuous to state that in a way to
cause others to believe that HE was changed because people were
ONLY using HE this way. HE has many irritating ways, usage,
problems that has led to its changes .....not solely
your single listed misgiving. Motivation for changing it, can
be traced to many different complaints concerning it and its use,
not solely your one way.

Draschel: play sta-1 as a TD too? It works reasonably well there.I mean,
it has 219 AP pen, and a heck tonne of pen in 275mm HEAT. Nice DPM
too sta-1 is poorly protected. The armor is amongst worst for
tier 8 mediums, so much so that it is extremely
vulnerable to even HE shells. su100 and su12244 have
a reasonable chance to penetrate sta-1 and 2, frontally with
their 60-odd HE pen, nevermind high HE pen users like EB75,
excalibur, setter, and senlac. Artillery with alternate
HE shells and higher pen, are extremely dangerous
too.

screwed it up royally with that idiotic 7/42 rollout. Most people
were simply expecting 7v7 teams matched by skill, not that
ridiculous format.
I'm convinced the problem with WG is that they see randoms as their money making mode, and don't want any other successful mode to draw players away from it.
So the statistics to measure skill and team balance aren't reliable, yet they use them to whine about balance, and as the means to "fix" the MM. That is just plain ridiculous. Yes, I'm going to deride feelings when they are full of contradiction like the one above. "You can't trust the statistics,! We need to balance teams based on the statistics!" I don't know what's going through your head, but it's still plainly obvious that you have no idea what you are arguing about.

lights and other mediums, to scope out where the enemy team is
helps a bunch with maintaining position and providing spotting for
you and your teammates. While there are some tanks that I

with decent gun depression and trollish turret armor and it will do
just fine. And lets face it, do you really want WG to
introduce something broken or OP enough to oust something in the
current meta? I know I sure don't.

Link on message: #12890697

Elias_K_Grodin: It might be a good idea to take a sample of some of the "blow-out"
losses or even some wins to dissect what went wrong (or right) in
the battle. What I've seen often is a flank will engage each
other and after the loss of a few tanks, either side will overpower
the other and that will cause the contested flank to collapse
allowing often light and medium tanks with good mobility to race
around to the other flank catching the remaining allied tanks in a
cross-fire which typically doesn't end well. Speed and
mobility is one of the reasons why tank commanders such as
Guderian, Rokossowski, and Patton emphasized on armored spearheads
to not only punch through the front but use their speed to cover
long distances in a short period of time. In the case of the
game, there are plenty of LTs and MTs (even TDs and HTs) that can
do this and push the flank to create such a crossfire especially on
maps like Mountain Pass and Abbey where loss of a flank = getting
caught in a crossfire. I tend to look at the minimap as often
as I do down range to see what the other flank is up to. When I see
casualties mount, I redeploy to assist. "Never fear your enemy

Jaguarz: I wouldnt, the Kran is the better tank overall and is more
flexible The T57 had its day as top dog and got nerfed years
back, I dont really see it making a comeback, its still strong,
just not as good as the kran imo, in terms of tanks which need
buffs it should be way down the list.
Subject: Crew 2.0v2- Practical Feedback

Mikosah, on Aug 04 2021 - 12:11, said: I'll try to be as direct and pragmatic as I can here. If we take it
as a given that crew 2.0 is inevitable, let's work with what we
have. To be clear I still think every possible benefit of the new
system could have been implemented piecemeal into the current
system just as they did with the intuition rework for instance. And
if so the overall result would have been both simpler, more
effective, and more well-received. But the writing's on the
wall, that just isn't what's going to happen. So be it. I
will make a point of saying there are at least a few things the new
system does well. The obvious being that very necessary features
like sixth sense and sound detection are given to everyone by
default. Another is that a starting commander with 3 skills can
easily round up basic utilities like camo, repair, et cetera.
One more is that existing skills have been nicely consolidated, for
instance situational awareness also includes recon and signal
boosting. Likewise repair also improves firefighting, clutch
braking has been merged with offroad driving, and that
there's just the one skill that protects all of the internal
modules. These simple but useful consolidated 'packages' of the
existing skills are good to have. Now here's my concerns:
-The rate of transfer is questionable. A current commander with 4
skills is more or less 'maxed', but in the new system the same
commander is only roughly halfway done training skills, not
even counting the additional 8 prestige levels. A good rule of
thumb ought to be using the superficial rank of the crew to
determine how many skill points to give it. A commander at the rank
of major should remain a major. -The instructor system as a
whole is an eyesore. Frankly we'd be better off without it both for
monetary, aesthetic, and balance reasons. A better way to preserve
unique crews is to simply make them skins, and perhaps just
have them retain more experience during the transfer or
alternatively reintroduce 'zero-skills' integral to that
particular commander. -A number of the new skills
are highly situational and/or conditional. For instance one
improves dispersion but only if stationary for a while, and another
that improves horsepower but only during the first few seconds of
movement. In situations like these, far better to keep skills
simple, passive, and universally relevant. -The 'talents'
often also suffer from the same problem. Besides this, the whole
concept of only unlocking them by focusing 30 points in just one
category is an unnecessary complication. Many of the
categories of the skills seem arbitrary and irrelevant. Perhaps
better if the talents instead become available just by having given
thresholds of total skill points on a commander. -In
particular, using that one skill that reduces RNG as a publicity
stunt to praise the current RNG values was a very low blow.
Reducing the RNG spread in itself is neither an advantage nor a
disadvantage, of course players would instead prefer skills that
are direct performance improvements. That's hardly proof
that the current RNG values are beyond reproach. The devs were
reaching really far to give themselves a reach-around. -One
last concern is that simply because the previous test of crew 2.0
was so ill-received, no matter how perfect the new iteration may be
it'll still be treated with intense suspicion. Any possible benefit
will be rendered counterproductive if the community just isn't
interested. Better to either roll out individual tweaks slowly over
multiple patches or re-brand the entire package.
