the past. This one was unique as FILO is such an old clan.
Let me think up a format with the other language teams and
discuss it with my colleagues to see if we can make the spotlights
a more regular thing.

unlikely we'll have the resources to go there. Leading up to
Gamescom and after it there is a pause in events as so much focus
and manpower is needed for that event. We considered it but we just
simply wouldn't have the staff available to plan and organise the
event.

The main aspect of "Firstlook" however is to check out new
and upcoming games that have just been released or are about to be
released. We're currently not at the stage to showcase our
plans for the future and the only "new" game we would have is
Master of Orion which isn't really a sit down and play for about 15
mins type game. We may still go to an event in the
Netherlands later in the year, but can't make any guarantees.

place. Until the finals scores are taken for all you know the
difference between first and second could be simply down to 1 or 2
exp. Sadly when you go down the route of hypothetical
situations it's always easy to present a scenario favourable to how
you want things to look. The contest rules state who is
eligible to enter and we had to make that clear from the
start. If we didn't have that restriction then anyone
globally would be able to participate. (As the alternative is
that just playing on the EU server should mean you're able to
participate, which mean everyone regardless of where they
live with an EU account is eligible). Sadly we're not
able to open up the contest world-wide, this was always intended to
be a contest for players only within the EU region. I'm afraid
restrictions need to also be in place regarding the VISA
requirements also as that's not something we can assist
players with and there is a timescale we're working against as
Tankfest is at the end of June. - Some countries can be fairly
quick with Visa's and others can be dragged out. - Again we can't
help players with that process.

exactly fair to the next person to only get half a prize. The
tournament rules are clear from the start regarding the entry
requirements and conditions for winning first place.

Velvet_Underground, on 18 April 2016 - 01:06 PM, said: Are dynamic platoons forbidden? Just askingEctar: That would be a platoon, so no. The main reason for no
platoons is to prevent "troll platoons" with people pulling tier V
tanks into higher tier matches. So to avoid confusion dynamics
platoons are excluded also. When the results are pulled from
the system anyone in platoons isn't included in the data.

How about for once listening to good players ? I don't want to take the WN8 because at some point it is discriminating but there is still a reason why some have high WN8. They understood the game mechanics, the map design, the strenght and weakness of every class and every tank. Thus asking those players would be beneficial at some point to fix issues that plague the game for a while. You could considerate the gold league players as experts to the game since they somehow represent the highest achievement you can manage to get in a game. That would avoid fails like (or would minimize the risk)

Ectar: I would like to speak to Clan players/Unicum players at some
point during this year to get their views and feedback. The obvious
issue is who to speak too, as I'm sure you're aware many of the
core "elite" players aren't exactly well known for their polite and
well written way of expressing their opinions. Perhaps asking
Clans to nominate people (but not from within their own clan) or
something is an option. What I'm keen to avoid is creating any kind
of player's council where people start making demands or talking
down to their fellow players as they're "on the council" so to say.

avoid. Hence why future content and plans are not being rushed and
there is more of a focus on "Ok what needs changed/addressed after

needs to be announced globally to all players. There is a planned
rebalance/review of tanks across all levels and classes Victor
mentioned that in the video from NA office.
Toxic_Toast, on 15 April 2016 - 02:30 PM, said: Planning the escape path already?Ectar: Not at all, just picking my words carefully as a lot of what
is in the works is subject to change and the timing isn't something
I can influence. When our developers post or say something
they can change their mind the next week. They're the people making
the decisions at the end of the day. When I post something
and the plans change the next week everyone gets angry about wrong
info/broken promises etc. That's why I only comment on stuff when I
know it's 100% locked in.
Capus, on 15 April 2016 - 02:58 PM, said: So when you guys say 'cool' stuff I almost get a panic

what people complain/talk about so passionately won't be an issue.
There will also be plenty of new stuff that will keep people

it will be good to finally see it happen. Again I'm sorry for

different topics and 4 of them are standing out above the rest.
What's interested is the mentions of specific things from
different player groups (premium ammo changes requested for example
from both novice players, veteran players and Clan Wars/Competitive

Community Manager for WoT when it was our only product, we only
really covered English and it was a fledgling community run
out of the Minsk office. When the EU office was established we went
with support across initially 6 EU languages (Turkey came later),
Overlord still posted on the EU forums but when he did he
only really cherry picked random the questions in
the Q&A thread. During that entire time we had zero
communication with him. To this day I've still never spoken to him
verbally or electronically. Not long after the EU office was set
up, Overlord moved over to the World of Warplanes team as a
Producer. The Q&A thread in that format couldn't
continue, it would go weeks at a time without replies and with the
other language teams becoming larger, there was then questions
regarding why there was no German Q&A or no Polish Q&A or
why didn't we translate it for all languages etc etc. We tried
to do one for a while with a Producer but simply gathering
questions from all 7 teams, filtering them, sending them off for
replies etc took way too much time. Whilst I'd love to have
something like the Q&A thread still active, it's a huge
time sink for realistically very little return. You only need to
read the RU forums to see how frustrated Storm sometimes gets with
the questions and the attitude directed at him (not to mention the
repeat questions on topics covered time and time again).

Confirmed, we're able to help players with this. Note that
this only applies to players who have a different "member since"
date on the forums to their "account created" date on the portal.
If you did the lesser missions first please be aware that CS will
remove the token/reward when they enable the correct one. You're
not able to double dip I'm afraid. I would have posted this
information on the forums also yesterday but didn't see any threads
asking the issue (if there is/was, I apologize for missing them).
I can assure you if CS give EN contributors special
treatment, I'll be having some harsh words with people. I am a
strong advocate for everyone being treated fairly and I make sure
that the contributors know they are not above regular players when
it comes to our policies (and before people bring it up, I can't
control what happened with other language teams).
Please don't use Contributors like this claiming they
get/got different service. Anyone who made a ticket
about the different portal and forums dates regarding the
emblems should have been assisted by Customer Support and if
someone was "fobbed off" I want to know about it and I'll get that
fixed.

this finally proves that WG really has the arrogant stance that

question should be better managed. - For example do you feel
that every question from a player should be answered by a
developer? Or do you feel that every question from a player should
be forwarded onto the devs where you still don't have a guaranteed
of an answer? Before answering that another thing to consider is
excluding possibly thousands of questions from other players, why
should your question/suggestion take priority over all the other
questions that others players may want answered directly from a
developer? - Finally what was your question/suggestion? It might be
something I can help with. Bear in mind also that a developer
spending a few hours every day on the forums answering questions,
is not working on the things players are suggesting/complaining
about in the 1st place. Dev interaction is great in any
community. What WoT players need to remember however is that WoT is
the reverse of any normal western company where English speaking
players are the majority. With World of Tanks RU speaking
players are the majority. It's a harsh reality and not something
people like to hear, but it is what it is. It's at least 5 Russian
speaking players to 1 English speaking player. Take any
other western game where the main playerbase is English (League of
Legends, World of Warcraft as examples) - Find all the developer
posts in English for those games and then find all the developer
posts in their 2nd biggest language. You'll see it's a difficult
task. I get the frustration from English speaking players in
WoT. Really I do and I wish we could do more to share info across
all regions at the same time. Lots of things are changing
internally this year and hopefully that's something we can work
towards. Contrary to internet rumors having a lot of our
senior staff working together in Cyprus is working out amazing for
us and there is lots of cool stuff on the horizon.

department is realistically "first time
resolution". Answering queries quickly when you're not
resolving them is a self generating problem which will never bring
down any queues or help with customer satisfaction. First
time resolution however doesn't always mean that that the customer
gets what they want. That's an impossible and unrealistic
expectation for any company or consumer as in multiple situations
you're going to have people asking for something they're not
entitled to, or the issue isn't something the customer support can
assist with directly. Our support team will always do their
best to help players but sadly sometimes there is limits to what
they can and can't do.

equal best. Sadly when it comes to doing creative contests
the judgement of winners will always be something where everyone
has a different opinion (which is part of the reason why creative

people within the community team give their feedback, it's not like

a prize" - that resulted in over 14,000 entries. I can't quite
explain to you just how long that took for us to go through each
entry, catalogue/record every player's name and then sort out a
winners list. For this contest the prize pool is limited so
that we hope players won't go overboard with their entries. The
bigger the entry doesn't automatically equal first prize.
It's up for players to decide if the contest is worth their
time/effort to enter, if not there is always the in-game contest
which is easily available for everyone. I don't agree with
the idea of contests where people get prizes just for participating
or for putting in very little effort. The very definition of
contest is "A struggle for superiority or victory" not "
just turn up and you'll be a winner".

for some reason I can't get into playing it. I remember
playing it on it's first version however and felt it was more
broken then, I think it was all I played on the demo accounts
we had available at the time as it's agility was crazy before it
got it's terrain resistance increased. The reason I don't
want to say "OP" is because I find an IS-7 head on and and E-100
head on to be equally powerful and both have similar weakspots
(lower front plate). All 3 are tanks I only really want to trade
with if I'm in one of the others. A hulldown IS-7 is an absolute
swine to shift without flanking support or arty, similarly an e100
who knows how to angle and protect the turret weakspots is a pain
in the butt. The change to the top machine gun turret made it
stronger yes, but it's not like top tier matches are filled with
nothing but T110E5's and nothing else. Regarding the
unintentional buff, I've heard this myself and if someone can
provide me a source other than an external fansite, I'll flag this
on up the chain to see when it will be corrected.

Subject: WG really need to stop adding too OP tanks
Link on message: #12291875
Link on message: #12291875
Ectar: Any tank to a certain extent can be considered OP in the hands of a
good player. Whilst you have listed certain vehicles as being
powerful, they were also released at the same time as other
vehicles that are not viewed as being powerful. Adding new content
is never an easy balance, especially when everyone categorizes
vehicles in lists of good to bad. Make a vehicle too good,
people complain that XYZ is no longer the best tank Make a vehicle
middle group, people just say to get ABC as it's better Make a
vehicle a low performer, everyone wants it to be buffed. The
sweet spot could be arguable somewhere between the middle and top,
but then do you really want each new vehicle to never shift a
certain other vehicle off the top spot? The E5 has been
around for a fairly long while now, at tier 10 the IS-7 is very
strong as is the Fv215b, T57-Heavy, IS-4, E-100, AMX-50b Any
tier 10 heavy is strong and they each have their strengths and
weaknesses. FV215b (183) is only good if you can get
that shot off and you prey to RNG for the pen. It's a tank
most people shoot gold in and you don't play for profit. You play
to wreck people. You either have to play good to support the cost
of running the tank or you buy gold to keep the premium rounds (and
likely repair costs) running. JagdPanzer E100 is strong frontally
but the minute that thing is tracked or flanked it's toast. The
obvious way to tackle it is not to go at it head on where it's
strongest..... E3 is the same as above. Track it, get round
it, job done. Ofc both tanks will shoot you from range.
That's their job. It's your job to not roll up to them that
way. You can't really be mad at a TD doing what a TD's
supposed to do. SU-122-44 I've only ever seen played good by a good
player. As a non turreted TD it suffers the same trouble as
the 2 above and can be tackled the same way. SU-100Y usually
is focused as soon as it's spotted. Box tank is a box and makes a
great target. It's also not very agile or fast. Czech tanks are
good with skilled players. Mediocre with average players. They are
not good at long range as the accuracy isn't really there, nor is
the penetration. They're good for finishing off tanks or being able
to unload on a distracted enemy but at longer ranges will lose out
to mediums like the Action X, E50M or STB-1. Also anything
that hits them pens unless it's a badly aimed turret shot.
The are strong tanks at all tiers in all classes. If every
tank had a fair chance and had similar characteristics it would
make for a boring game. Complaining that 1 tank is strong when hull
down is a bit redundant as almost every other tank in that class
will also be strong hull down because it's a common tactic to
protect a tank! That's not a bad thing, that's someone
playing smart and it's someone you don't try to trade shots with.
You need to also be smart and pull back or move round (or ask
for arty support). It makes no sense to try and face off in a
situation where you know the other player is clearly in the
advantage. TL: DR - Any tank that kills you is OP
and unfair. Whilst there may be new strong tanks introduced, there
are just as many older tanks that are still out there wrecking and
taking names. The high alpha tanks hurt, but they are very
unforgiving if you play them badly.

So why would anyone use Cent instead of Persh? When Persh does

not played in a long time) and 315 with the Centurion. Both stats
are roughly the same and both were played pretty much in the same
role although I'd hang back more with the Centurion. Never
really felt it was lacking in any area other than perhaps being a
little slow compared to other tier VIII meds. I could hit
heavies from range and didn't put myself on the front lines.
I guess it's down to personal preference really. I don't
expect every tank played to be capable of carrying every match,
usually when people want tanks changed they just want a certain
tank to be more like another tank (but better by carrying it's
other parameters over to the level the different tank is).
It's like the 7/1. It's not a bad tank really, it just works
differently to the fast medium play style that players pick up from
other trees. The Cent and Cent 7/1 play more like TD's
without the camo. The Panther L/100 is a tank that sorta
plays the same way. Trying to create balance and still have
different play styles/characteristics it's always easy, especially
if you want to avoid all tanks feeling like they're just the same
but with different looks on them.

something like an Object 416 or T-44 you're not really fighting at
your tank's best position. The Centurion is a support tank best
suited at shooting long range where the quick aim time and
penetration will serve you well. The 122 for the T-44 for
example has "I need to be closer" written all over it with it's
lower pen, higher damage and much greater aim time and dispersion.
Simply making a tank shoot faster doesn't balanace things
when it already has better parameters that other guns of it's

There is no individual account details that can be toggled on or
