Ectar: On the EU server you get 5x exp for the first win of the day from
the the 27th to the 29th of December regardless of how many
players are on our servers. Events for EU and NA won't always
be the same as RU and bonuses events will never be global every
time.

reason someone has issues with their channel please can you submit
a ticket to our support team with the following information:

Ectar: Greetings, We have been receiving reports regarding an issue
with some players who are unable to use their free exp and credits
on the 8.10 test server. Sadly due to technical limitations this
issue will not be resolved before the end of the 8.10 test.
We would like to apologize to all players affected by this and we
will take steps to make sure this issue doesn't happen again in a
future test. Regards

Mangrove, on 16 December 2013 - 06:13 PM, said: From my observations of behaviour during roll-out from base, I
mentally put players in the following categories:
PRO: Knows what to do and where to go; leaves base efficiently without bumping into other players; gives way to other players crossing his path; doesn't shoot his guns.
LEMMING: Doesn't know which way to go and turret can be seen turning side-to-side trying to decide which train to follow; starts out in a direction and then changes mind to follow a longer train in another direction.
NOOB: Rushes out of base bumping into other players that are in the way; usually seen shooting guns and often hits other players starting a mini revenge battle; always signalling "HELP", "DEFEND THE BASE", "POSITIVE", "NEGATIVE" for no apparent reason; is usually one of the first to be killed; can often be seen trying to explore inaccessible areas of a map or traversing at speed down a 500 foot sheer cliff face; they also leap off the top.
SHOW OFF NOOB: Seems to think that travelling with the turret facing rearwards is cool; usually has a decent tank like a T69 but should go back to Tier I with the other children.
NOOB PLATOON: Same as Noob above; usually low tier tanks rushing around in remote areas of a map shooting each other.
IDIOT PLATOON: And don't we all love it when Tier VIII platoons with Tier II ....
There must be other categories that players slot into ... any ideas?

Subject: A review of WoT's rival game...
Link on message: #6720672
krazypenguin, on 13 December 2013 - 12:39 PM, said: So, we all know what is out there, there's certainly been some
mention of it before on the forums, but I thought some might
appreciate a considered and reasoned look at WG's competitor and,
most importantly, a comparison of the two. How well does each
game do in various criteria, what works and what doesn't?
I am, of course, referring to... Barbie Online
Horseracing -
LINK by popular demand!! Yes, we've all been
there. The in-game chat messages telling us to "go play
Barbie Online Horseracing." Well, it's time someone did just
that and, seeing as I don't have anything better to do with my
life, I thought it might as well be me. So let's get cracking
and first up it's... INSTALLATION Whilst WoT is a fairly
large download and install (circa 5GB IIRC) Barbie Online
Horesracing (hereafter referred to simply as BOHR) features no
download or install at all! It's all played directly from the
URL. This is a clear advantage over WoT's long and tedious
download. WoT 0 - BOHR 1 ACCOUNT CREATION With WoT it is
necessary to create an account using an e-mail address and this is
then used to log in everytime. Whilst not particularly
difficult or troublesome this is not as easy as BOHR's much simpler
system of simply entering your name:
WoT 0 - BOHR 2 MAP CHOICE As we all know, it is not
possible to choose the map you want to play in WoT, nor to deselect
those you do not wish to play. However, this is a feature
which the creatures of BOHR have embraced fully. Sadly for
BOHR users though, the Devs have only released 2 maps so far -
"Gallop on the Beach" and "Trot down a canyon trail".
As such I am conflicted about which game is best. Clearly
many WoT players wish to be able to chose which maps they do or do
not play but at least in WoT we have a massive number to choose
from. So whilst the developers of BOHR seem to be on the
right track, they clearly need to put a lot more effort into map
design. It's a tough one to call but I'm going to go with WoT
for this one. That said, I do appreciate the BOHR devs'
attempt to at least make their map names more interesting - I think
the WOT devs could learn from this, perhaps renaming Murovanka to
"Camping in the Magic Forest" or Redshire to "Oh look, it's a draw"
for example. WoT 1 - BOHR 2 VEHICLE CHOICE No question on
this one. WoT features a choice of hundreds of vehicles,
covering the full spectrum of tank based warfare (and SPGs), whilst
BOHR only has a meagre 6 vehicles to choose from, all of
which appear to be from the same class
(apparently called horses) and do not appear to have
different stats, or any stats at all. Also, whilst WoT has
gone for the model of having to unlock higher tiered vehicles as
you progress in the game, in BOHR all vehicles are available to the
player immediately.
As such there seems to be little incentive to continue playing in
order to progress and I cannot see 6 vehicles of the same class
being fun to play in the long term. Being a gold noob I have,
naturally, selected the "rich, reddish gold" option. It is
worth noting however, that BOHR have chosen not to implement the
much hated arty into their game, at least yet. Hopefully the
addition of additional vehicle classes (perhaps ponies and donkeys)
will not ruin this... WoT 2 - BOHR 2 CAMOUFLAGE In WoT we
are offered a wide variety of camo patterns. However, these
must be purchased for either gold or credits. Whilst BOHR
only features 4 types of camo these are availble completely
free of charge.
Here you can see that I have opted for the sleek 'n shiny camo,
which I hope will allow my vehicle to blend in with the tall
grasses and rushes. To be honest, it's really only a choice
between that and wavy (best for bushes I think) as the option of
plain (ie. no camo) seems to defeat the point and braided would
presumably only assist if the enemy team consisted of heavily
dreadlocked Rastafarian tankers, a situtation I have yet to come
across. So it's a question of greater choice but at a cost,
versus less choice but free. Since I tend to have favourite
camos in WoT that I use all the time anyway I think less for
free is probably better here. WoT 2 - BOHR 3 EQUIPMENT
Again, it's choice at a cost versus less choice for free. WoT
features a large number of equipment items of whch up to 3 can be
fitted to enhance the performance of your vehicle but these can
cost up to 600,000 credits! BOHR once agin features less but
for free - with only 2 equipment slots and a choice of 3 or 4 items
for each slot.
Clearly the free to play model that BOHR seem to be pursuing so
agressively is hampering the ability of their devs to add new
content. Once again, as a player I must choose free over
quantity. That said, I could not see any performance benefit
to my vehicle from any of the equipment options I selected.
This makes me question what hidden stats the BOHR devs might be
protecting... WoT 2 - BOHR 4 INSIGNIA & EMBLEMS Whilst WoT
again provides a massive quantity boost over BOHR but at a cost to
players, here BOHR catches up a little. It features 3
different types of customisation, again all for free!
Here you can see I have opted for some sparkly glittering hoof
polish (seriously WG, why don't we have glitter for our tanks - you
are missing a trick here!) and a lovely Afrika Corps style palm
tree. Tres chic and all for free! WoT 2 - BOHR 5 NAME
YOUR VEHICLE Wow! This is an option that WoT haven't really
even considered, short of paying for an inscription which may
or may not be a name for you tank, with BOHR you are actually asked
to name your vehicle. And once again, it's totally free.
Here you can see that I have opted to call my vehicle
"Dogfood". I feel it is a strong name. WoT 2 - BOHR 6
TO BATTLE! Well, frankly it's looking bad for WoT. BOHR is
leading by a veritable landslide and short of something pretty
spectacular happening I cannot see WoT pulling this back to
win. But so far it's all really just been window
dressing. What happens when you finally ready up and press
that Battle\Ok button? Well, as you all know, WoT then
launches you into a random battle with 14 strangers of variable
quality against a team of 15 more strangers, also of variable
quality, and you battle to the death\cap to see who will win.
The better you do personally and as a team, the better your reward.
And this is where BOHR finally falls down - and big time at
that. See, clicking "Ok" to the previous screen in BOHR
doesn't then launch you into a do or die race to the death against
other players. No, instead you just get this:
I mean...where's the race? That's it? The
entire game is just getting ready to enter battle? No wonder
it's free to play! Now, I'll admit, maybe it's early days for
BOHR (I couldn't see if it was in Alpha, Beta or actually released)
but this really isn't good enough. In fact, I'm going to have
to say that the very failure to include any actual battle and\or
racing must disqualify BOHR from the competition. A shame as
it was doing so well. I must also admit that I feel slightly
cheated by the way in which it displays my user ID and vehicle
name, in effect making it look like I am dogfood. It's like
the BOHR devs are laughing at me :-( WoT 2 - BOHR *Disqualified*
So there you have it, a serious comparison of WoT and its
major online rival. BOHR clearly has much potential and very,
very nearly delivers but falls down badly at the last
hurdle....a pity as that should be what it is best at...

time to complete/was much easier, the prize wouldn't be the same.
Whenever people say they "don't have time" to do stuff in a game
that's intended to be a time sink, you have to realize your request
to change the requirements doesn't just affect your circumstances,
it affects everyone and lowers the bar for everyone. We can't set
different parameters for people based on how much time they play
(as everyone will then play as little as possible to get maximum
return). It's human nature to want to do less work and get the same
reward. That doesn't mean it's a good thing. Sadly some
things in games are time sinks and require people to play more than
they regularly would. This even runs for 30 days, and there is more
than enough time for people to complete it if they want to.

since I have it already. The requirements are way too high either
way. Should be something like, 200 kills, 100k damage, 50k
spotting damage over that time frame, would be much better because
you actually have to do something in a battle. The most viable
tactic to doing this mission is getting each nation's fastest tank
and suicide rushing at the start, go to garage, do it again in
another tank, get the scout xp, play game fast. Doing this

sure there are people out there who end up doing just that.
Even if you grind the 700k xp out you will probably end up spending
gold on free xp conversion to get to tanks you don't have and/or
avoid stock grinds, on credit conversion cos you might not have
enough credits, on premium to ease the grind, on garage slots for
all those tier 6 tanks and on crew training.

stuff considered to be glitching or showing game flaws. The
scenarios show the sometimes random ways that people get kills. I
mean it's not normal that you'd decide to drive a tank over an
enemy tank to take him out, or push one into water (I have to admit
pushing someone into water or off a cliff is a fun way to destroy
enemy tanks).

training shouldn't have been 3 weeks in a row, I didn't know how it
slipped through but once events are locked in, they can't be
changed. The only exception we've been able to do in the past is
when tied events (which were ment to match,) were different due to
last minute changes and everyone not being notified of the change.
We can't change the events each weekend based on player's
initial reactions. That's a bad way to manage events.

would be ok. It doesn't have to be 100,000 on a specific tank. Only
the Japanese tree has that limitation as it has only 1 tier 6. The

well thats a new one ... 1. the norm for as long as i can
remember is weekend special. sometimes good, sometimes bad but it
IS A NORM when you do this every week for years ... The same as new
missions, they are the norm now, if you take them off you are
changing the norm, but until you do that they ARE THE NORM so stop
insulting the players by trying to push on us the idea that WG isnt
required to do a special each week, because you are. If you really
believe what you just said Ectar run a week without any weekend
special and we will see if you can get away with that
2. trying to justify running 3
discounts with diminishing returns (and misleading description) in
a row by saying that you just cant do anything else is really
REALLY stupid ... few weeks back you tried to justify lack of this
discount by need to spread it around because you just couldnt give
the playerbase the thing it needed and now you are saying that you
have to give us this same thing 3 times in a row because you
must... what the hell stopped WG from doing what you said earlier -
spread these discounts evenly around ? 3. there is a
difference between a typo and misleading product description
leading to monetary losses of buying customers. one is a tolerable
mistake, second is grounds for legal lawsuit... Also typos arent
kept and repeated three times in a row, especially on the weekly
basis unless its on purpose. purpose here being to scam kiddies of

well thats a new one ... 1. the norm for as long as i can
remember is weekend special. sometimes good, sometimes bad but it
IS A NORM when you do this every week for years ... The same as new
missions, they are the norm now, if you take them off you are
changing the norm, but until you do that they ARE THE NORM so stop
insulting the players by trying to push on us the idea that WG isnt
required to do a special each week, because you are. If you really
believe what you just said Ectar run a week without any weekend
special and we will see if you can get away with that Ectar: The term "PR nightmare" is blowing things out of
proportion. 1) We can't do a weekend without a special
as it now the expected thing. Go back 1 year then 2 and see what
the specials are compared to now. They've gone up and up over time
as people expect more and more. 2) On Sunday there will be
an announcement regarding a bigger than normal event. Bigger than
normal is quite honestly an understatement. You'll see why replying
to concerns has been difficult or evasive based on what's included
and why replying to you now is difficult knowing what's coming.

should be super grateful that you grace us with them, but the fact
of the matter is you do it so that people will play more and buy

Likewise, specials are great until you notice that another server
is getting better ones. I also notice that in
your post, you totally fail to address the two main complaints
about this special: 1) You are repeating the same offers for the
2nd and 3rd weeks in a row, and 2) You market this as a flashback
to a previous popular special, but you give this one a lesser
discount. It's also interesting that you show up this
week to bemoan player complaints, but no one was around last week
to address why the special offered "50% Discount on all Crew
Training options", but this only applied to training between tanks,
not crew skills.

"The normal" is a regular day in World of Tanks. No bonuses, no discounts, no missions etc. That is exactly what Saturday and Sunday would be without the "specials". If another guy doing my job in my office was getting 50% more then yeah I might be annoyed but I'm pretty sure they would be a reason for it and the reason is likely something I'd only know about if I needed to. Sometimes we don't get to know about things we want to, no matter who we think we are or why we should. If another guy doing my job in an office on the other side of the world was getting 50% more I wouldn't really care tbh as it doesn't affect me. It's only natural to want what someone else has, even if you don't really like it/want it/would use it. Trust me I've a huge advocate of things being done fairly and I hate people or group getting special treatment. Sadly sometimes things do go the way we want them to. No one is asking you to like it, it's just that we don't always get what we want. 1) The same offers being repeated for 3 weeks I agree isn't really cool but that's because the normal things we use can't be used. 2) Indeed, the wording could have been different but changing it now wouldn't help. Since March the discounts we can offer players has changed (I did mention this in my previous post) and that's a global change. I wasn't able to reply to threads last week as I was on vacation last week. Regarding the portal news, typo's can be made by anyone and sadly sometimes information can change at short notice. When people are working to deadlines it's easy to make a slip up. I've made a good mistakes myself and in all honestly thousands of sites make errors, they're usually corrected instantly/within a few minutes or don't have an active forum waiting to point out the mistakes right away however. (A perfect example is a recent new article I just read on the BBC website. When talking about a car already mentioned in the article the term "Landrover Freeloader" is used when the correct term is a "Freelander"). When something is pointed out it's easier to notice. If I told you that there is more green cars on the streets than any other car, you'd unconsciously start noticing green cars all the time because someone has pointed this out to you. New staff and changes in systems/processes can also make familiar work seem unfamiliar. We're sorry for the issues when publishing past articles and steps have been put into place to help eliminate them.

happen. You're then taking something which is a bonus as
something for granted and factoring it into your day to day
playing. It's no longer something extra and has become
something which is expected as part of your regular play.
In any game you play that has an in-game currency you
have 2 choices: Spend it as your earn it, or save it to buy things
later. We're not being an exception to other games you may
play I honestly can't think of a game that announces sales in
advance (and i'm taking about virtual currency here). The
prices of those tanks were set in advance with the aim of players
working towards them and they're
perfectly achievable goals. Discounting them at random
should be a welcome surprise and a break from the norm. It
shouldn't be thought of as a necessity. It can't always be
minimum effort for maximum gains.

suggest however to anyone in any situation that involves buying
something. If you're not in a hurry to purchase something and want
to wait to a specific date... Then wait. Whilst there is lots
of potential situations with different outcomes, only 1 thing is
guaranteed. - If you buy it now, it's not discounted.

those 2, but cant remember which one we had last weekend Ectar: Those 2 individual discounts were one off events and not a
normal discount. Yes in the past bonuses were higher along
with discounts (only on tier VII and lower), you also frequently
had events where it was 1 tank per nation and not all in a tier
(for example it would be the Tiger P or Tiger H, the
Hellcat or M36). It's not just in Europe but across all
regions where the bonuses have been toned down. Please don't
start saying that "back in the day" things were better because the
first thing you'll need to show is a direct comparison (as in
multiple months, not random individual weekend
specials) of when things were apparently better. I can assure you
that "back in the day" the playerbase was less demanding and things
weren't taking for granted as much as they are now. As
I said earlier with the addition of weekly, weekend, and monthly
missions this means that the in-game discounts and credit
boosts can't be the same as they used to be. We're also
conscious that the "extra help" that these events are intended
to be, has been forgotten. It used to be "Oh hey cool, a
garage discount" whereas now it's. "I know there is such a thing
as garage discounts, so give me one now". When
something becomes to regular you don't see it anymore as an extra.
It becomes an expected regular feature/occurrence. In this
thread someone drew a negative that this event doesn't cater to low
tier. Not that long ago we did a low tier event and people
complained there was nothing for high tiers. - now you might
read this and think "Well why not just do an event that works
for low and high tier?" but then what happens the week
after? Everyone expects the same because last week it was like
that, or this week we're not catering to XXXX. Players wanted
discount crew training and when it was added one of the first
comments was to swap it out for discount
garage/barrack slots instead. There is requests for discount
garage slots now, I can guarantee you that if we had it now, people
would just complain later in the month that they can't buy new
tanks because garage slots are full price so we should discount
them then too. I've seen comments in other threads with
things like "Worst month ever" and "what you do later doesn't make
up for now". Where is this attitude coming from? do you even
realize the tone of your message? Again too many people
are acting like we've given you something then taken it away, or
promised something that hasn't came. Look at these
weekend events for exactly what they are. An extra bonus for
players when playing the game. They are not the only reason for you
to play this weekend and they are not something which is always
going to be applicable to you as an individual player. "You
don't do enough 5x exp events!" - *do a 5x exp event* - "great
nothing but noobs playing now, I can't win they're always in my
team, stupid 5x exp events" "You don't discount high tiers" -
*discount high tiers* - "Awesome, now all the noobs can rush
into high tiers and ruin my matches" "You should give tanks credit
boosts for specific types of tanks or tiers" *add credit boosts to
tiers or types* - "OMG now this weekend the game is full
of TDs/Heavies/Mediums/German/USSR/British etc etc tanks" "When
will premium tanks be discounted?" *discount premium tanks* - "not
fair, tier VIII is filled with wallet warriors now!" or "Screw you
WG, now there is nothing but E25's everywhere" "It's always crew
training, I want first win bonuses" /"You've done first win 3 times
now, I want crew training" Above examples is pretty
much standard replies we see. Every time the missions that are
active at the same time are also completely ignored. Now
regarding the claims of "this isn't a special" - you're taking
the word too literary. Even then if you're still going to be
specific about the word it basically means: Something
distinguished by a unique or unusual quality. Better, great or
otherwise unusual from what is the norm. The "norm or normal" is
having no bonuses or discounts at all on the weekend. The
norm isn't want you got last week/month, what another region got,
or what you think the event should be. I can honestly
say that when the seasonal events are announced, everyone will be
surprised and even the most skeptical/cynical people will struggle
to find something to complain about. I can't wait to see everyone's
reactions.

The last equipment sale
was at
the start of November. It's been just over a month guys...
Do you honestly expect a major discount like this every month?
As I mentioned in a post back in October, the previous
equipment discounts before that were on the 3rd of September and
the 22nd of August. Generally equipment discounts are once per
quarter.
