Draschel: whats wrong with splash damage post 1.13, if willy nilly KV2
still snaps a Type 58 medium for 478, or Skoda T25 for 517?
Thats still grossly greater than 1/2 910 damage roll, and
2/3rd their HPAnd.....you want people with measurable, capable,
world of tanks experience, grit, showmanship to believe that this
is fair? And that there's still nothing wrong with not aiming,
snapping renegade, Patriot, 53TP for an average of 200 dealt
2 tiers below? And moreover, you think its fine that just a patch
before, they'd do it even easier, even by hitting the gun or
tracks, for more? 350~ ? You are fine with that?

Draschel: I mean, they didn't nerf FV4005 gun, but rather raped the
physical tank, because were afraid of hurting FV183 status as they
share the gun They refused to touch KV2, and messed up
OI instead, for fear of touching KV2R. They ended up
freely buffing progetto 46 in the auto loader rework, for fear
of reprisal. They put themselves in some real hot water
with premiums, and these "reward" vehicles are probably counted as
premiums too. Chieftain and 279E and 260 907 aren't
getting touched. But maybe, WG will decide on making VK7201, M60,
T95E6 better eventually.

Draschel: 121B gets alot of buffs. 350 HEAT vs 330 certainly takes
alot of guesswork and RNG out of the equation when shooting 279E.
It has good base camo, is mobile with nice silhouette, flanking
stuff messing them up with HE pen like panzer wagon too. Not sure
why 121B isn't used more in CW

Draschel: So, I have the E50M 3-marked. A few things to say about it. But
before, if anyone wants to get into the madness that is marking
high tiers, E50M is a good, easier choice to start out with. Its
not ridiculous competitive, versus things like WZ1115A, 277, 430U,
STB1. I hate the E50M. It is the only medium tank in
tier X, that doesn't improve from tier 9. The DPM stays the exact
same, which is atrocious. No other tier X medium, stays the same
DPM from their hereditary tier 9. Even autoloading tanks, have
healthy DPM increases like Rinocero, Bat Chat 25, TVP,
Progetto - while the lowly E50M does not. Unlike M48A
Patton, which is also a fat high tier medium without camo, E50M has
far less agility, far less DPM - to actually give it purpose. The
good accuracy and aim-time, are off set by the very non Russian,
high dispersion stats if moving, kind of countering gun handling.
Turret armor and LFP buff help of course, especially against tier
8, but really do not help vs 260-270 APCR, or 330 HEAT. Square boxy
turrets generally are bad, even if thick. Bad mobility stats for a
medium, compound the poor camo problem. And what bothers me so, is
that E50M has been buffed too, but the buffs haven't provided whats
needed. The good things about E50M, are pretty much two. Its a
great tier 8 bully and farmer. Tanks like STB1, Leopard 1, Patton,
AMX30B, UDES can still be vulnerable in tier 8 environments,
because of low side armor. E50M, not so much. 80mm allow it to
flexibility be used as a side scrape heavy even, in top tier. It
also protects it from most HE pen, like EBR and M41GF. And of
course secondly, the meme that is ramming enemies. Hey, if people
enjoy that kind of fun and colliding with enemy tanks, E50M sure
does it better than most other mediums. I don't
recommend an E50M grind. Do Leopard instead. If you want a fairly
armored, fat med, go 430U, 140, 121, Fatton instead. Heck, as a fat
medium, 277 and WZ1111111111 5A, IS7, 113 are way better too. E50M
has no camo, so why not, not missing out on
anything.

is looked at again judging from the past, so we'll be living with

Hey_man_Gneis_shot: The matches I've been running into at Tier VI have still seen a
strong showing for SPGs keeping either team from being spotted or
out in the open. From these battles, artillery is from from
sad as they do a pretty good job at discouraging aggressive
movement forward and away from safe concealed positions. Since
1.13, the only difference I've seen is the whistling sound of
incoming fire to encourage me to displace and avoid heavy
damage. I'm still trying out all of the features but

Draschel: I'm pretty behind in my daily dose of skill because of work. But I
am cramming alot of them in now to catch up while BC goes through a
heat wave and work relents a tad The KV2R video clearly
demonstrates not too big a change in my opinion, concerning HE. Any
changes such as damage reduction versus armor, are offset by new
opportunity such as penetrations through wall and fence obstacles,
or tries/tracks.https://www.youtube....h?v=3HZJhgqlzEU Pretty
sure everyone is exaggerating about HE being useless. He splashes
Type 58 (T34 hull) for 478 damage. He splashes Skoda T25 for 517.
While these two a re fairly common penetrations for 86 pen HE,
getting splashed into the face for 2/3rd your HP isn't much better.
Heavier tanks like Jumbo, 53TP, T150, T29, Renegade splashed within
a range, 125-300. I don't know about you, but still think
that is fine. Actually, I think thats still too much, truth be
told. For a poor accuracy tank lobbing shells in the general
vicinity of a tank silhouette, thats fine indeed. Whats good are
the clear splashes into gun mantle and tracks, that deal
0 as screen not penetrated. Great addition, removing these
broken game exploits. Alot of the tanks hit in the
video, like Tiger 131/Mark VI, Type 58, SU152 can easily be
penetrated by 110/136 AP ammo choices the KV2 get, or 121/150
OI gets, so really the argument is moot. The biggest thing the 1.13
changes introduce, are the trimming back of fat. Removing laziness,
and I think its great. Best patch changes since arty stun nerfs and
splash damage drop off, and introducing
anonymizer.

Draschel: lol......You weren't killing 279E with HE either, before.Unless you
wanted to stay in front of it for 12min, with team mates, all
firing HE at it. Organizing with your team, all shooting
premium ammo and concentrating your effort against 279E is a great
way in tackling it. Not shooting HE

107. If you don't like the 107, the ML10 152 howitzer still has 136
penetration. It can also overmatch hell of alot of armor plate if
you aim. 86mm HE pen, can still mess up alot of tier 8, nevermind
tier 4-6. You can now shoot through walls too with it. KV2R may not
have the 107 option, but again nothing wrong with 136 AP/ 86
HE KV2® was marketed, as a unique painted Warhammer 40K tank.

churchill50: I'm not sure about the mouse issue. However, the issue where
keys won't activate repair and med kits or switch ammo is a known
bug. Most likely, it's caused by Alt-Tabbing out of the game. The
game then sometimes thinks that Alt is still being pressed, and
that interferes with the number key presses. To fix it, just press
and release the Alt key real quick.

Draschel: It depends. Pay attention. HE now must contact the hull
body of a vehicle. Thats not to say contact with obstacles, spaced
armor, tracks, tires eliminate the chance of damage, no. But in
order for HE, to resolutely deal damage now, it must contact the
vehicle hull body. Spaced armor and tracks do not count. Also, none
of this applies to artilleries HE shells. Example 1. IS3 is
90' perpendicular from IS7, and fires HE at the side of IS7. The
shot dips low, but is essentially non angled at 0' instance, and
the 68mm HE penetration faces off against 40mm track armor. But
vehicle modules, are given a 3x effective armor, so the 40 becomes
120mm. The 68mm pen HE doesn't have a chance there, won't bypass
the track, and is absorbed. No damage dealt. Example 2.
Exactly the same as above, but IS3 68mm HE pen shell slides in
above the wheels, or beneath the turret, striking either 100mm
lower side hull, or 150mm upper side hull. Damage is applied
immediately. Tracks, tires, gun, spaced armor, turret
mantles are all to my knowledge, provided this passive 3x effective
armor bonus.Walls, fences, cars, trucks IE obstacles, are
not. Their armor simply is whatever they represent in
game. Example 3. SU130PM fires HE at skorpion G, using Ensk
barbed wire and concrete fence as line of sight cover near cap. Say
the wall is effectively 20mm thickness, no 3x modifier applied
here. The skorpion G rear end is 20mm, and gets struck by a 68mm
pen HE with still 48mm effective potential penetration left. It
proceeds to get raped for 600+ damage.

tier 7-8 premium tanks, yet I have no shortage of premium shells.
On tech tree tanks, nevermind premiums. If you cannot manage an
accountant effectively, and cannot afford things, that is on you.
You do not need to put out anything. For fun, for competition =/=
one another. The two are quite exclusive, polar opposites. While
-YOU- may have fun doing it, the receiving end, the hit party,
isn't having fun while the people having fun are skirting broken
former HE mechanics. You can't look at this, from an average
performing man's perspective. And no, I am not looking at it from a
great players perspective either. I choose the fair, game balanced
perspective. SU100 doesn't have SU152 DPM, gun handling,
HP, and its low tier. SU152 can just use the stock ML20 with HEAT
too. AP even KV2R don't have the 107, its true, but with some
more aiming is fine using AP. Added benefit of HE penetration
through obstacles. We aren't here to compare tanks, this is better
than that. We are here to analyze the tank itself and its future,
gameplay alternatives. But at any rate, KV2 107 has more DPM than
T150, as well as slightly better gun handling. Only
novice, casuals use stock turret on Jumbo w/ 105mm. Real
people, with an edge on their shoulder, who want to compete turn it
into a real med with supercharger, top turret for view range and
HP, M1A1 for consistency FV4005 can actually use HE over HESH.
If your enemy has 100 HP, why use HESH? HE does the same thing. If
your enemies are Bourratt and HK30, don't need HESH. HE does the
same. People just simply things by not having to micro their ammo,
HESH does everything HE does. But HE won't do everything HESH does.
Doesn't mean that HE can't be used as cost savings, and serve the
same purpose 152 still works on sheridan and 49, simply
because of mobility, high base pen, and HEAT. But while their stock
90 and 105 may not be that good compared to medium tank
peers, they are undoubtedly the best light tank guns amongst
peers by tier. No other light tank guns come close to their mix of
gun handling, DPM. We are talking about DPM of several
hundred more, substantial. without any drawbacks, other than the
base platform L48 75 sucks. In tier IV, 85mm already
around, T40 has M1A1 76m. Tier V its useless. IV/V gets by because
the platform, pref MM, SA server farming elevate it, not because of
the gun.

extra gun depression for QCB, gun is lighter for mobility, and
damage was slated for 800 not 750, giving you +50 alpha and +60
DPMBut 1.13 release, the damage was lowered to 750, so you lose the
alpha, DPM, and makes sense to just use top gun then.....losing the
mobility and gun dep too. Sucks, because I prepared it,
retraining 6 man crew. Sigh. Guess I will have to
settle for Lorraine and S51. But S51 has my pre 9.18 arty stats, so

Draschel: If all a 48.5% W/R player decided to shoot, over the next
2,500 battles that the person would play, were premium
shells especially APCR (HEAT has some faults) so
say Leopard, Super Conqueror, Progetto 46, T110E4. Yes, their stats
would increase. But such a person and their incoming increase,
would be like to 50, 51% tops. Just because they are now
penetrating a greater portion of their shots, don't make them a 60%
winning player. I am not against the proposition, of nerfing
premium ammunition. But a few things first to consider, everyone
has access to it. It is not exclusive to one camp of players. If a
premium ammunition nerf were to be set in place, equally alongside
it at the SAME TIME, heavy tank / assault medium / assault TD armor
models need proper implementation (AKA 2010-2013 design) of
weakspots. Remember when IS3 didn't have the UFP 130mm moustache?
Lower plate was 100? When soviet turret roof were casually set
20-30mm, now one by one becoming 55mm? See where we are
going? And designs like Chrysler, Object 268 V 4, TS5,
continually buffed Maus? You get the point. Heavy designs,
should be like VK7501, AMX AC48 mle, Tiger II, Kreslavsky, Etc.
Hardened armor in large portions of the tank, but dedicated weak
spots that can be aimed at. Weakspots shouldn't be like 430U,
T62A, Type 5 cupolas. This is the single most important
feature which must accompany premium ammo changes. If the ammo
changes, models like Maus, Badger, Type 5 must be changed too at
that point of time. Tertiary, people better be prepared for an
icnrease in AP cost too. Lower the premium cost, lower the HE cost,
increase the AP cost (of course not to premiums current rate)
Lets look at Chimera and 50 TP Proto.440/440/530 @755/4800/705
changes to 450/420/550 @900/1100/700440/440/560 @880/4800/720
changes to 440/400/560 @1000/1250/700 This is
whats called balance. Not the automatic, gang-saying, nerve racked
"DUDE NERF PREM, PREM OP" You see how this works?

Draschel: Which should be the case. FV183 or FV4005, or even jag panzer
E100 / old Type 5, Fochs 155 with 3 in the mag HE.....shouldn't
just derp shots 550m away center-of-mass wishy washy without a hope
of aim, to splash the target for ridiculous amounts of
damage. We don't need those general purpose shells,
one-size-fits all. Next to impossible to guard
against. Shells should have a specific purpose. Not just
be a spammable thing.

Draschel: But all these tanks, typically have alternative options for
general damage. SU152 can fire dangerous HEAT, or use the 122mm AP
gun.OI, KV2, OHO can fire AP or HEAT, for traumatic 700 alpha. They
also have AP guns for more consistency, accuracy. Sherman and
wolverine in tier V have the M1A1 76, don't need the HE
howitzer. T40 simply uses M1A1 76, doesn't need 105
howitzer M2 medium can grossly just spam 90 pen HEAT, it
doesn't need the HE at allKV1S and SU85 have respective 85mm, don't
need the 122 howitzer. And the 122 howitzer as is have high enough
HEAT pen anyway FV183 and 4005 can simply fire HESH with
aiming their shots, or just use AP.E100, 60TP, VK7201, 110E4, T30,
Type 5 definitely shouldn't have any reliance on HE at all, esp.
considering Type 5 got actual AP now. Even with T49 and
Sheridan, stock competitive guns are just fine. The big losers
are minimal. Mostly low tier. Hetzer, Panzer IV, Renault G1R 105
guns took a real hit, have low HEAT pen so it ain't viable,
and don't have good alternative 75mm guns like Sherman or
wolverine.

an over-powered tank, like head on T95, hull down Badger, or
Chieftain, or 279E. HE doesn't counter it or them. (Circa

counter 279E and Chieftain, unless it had 15HP left. Great, you

this fallacy, this nonsense, over powered tanks get even more
overpowered and the trend perpetuates. Because they are shrouded in
mis-information. Rather than competence and real
problem-solving. The countering, comes into play when as
I said, bore size gets big. And thats the major fix 1.13 put in
effect. People using Fochs 155 3x155mm HE shells, where they
don't need aiming at all, and deal 500 damage a shot. KV2 and OI,
just derping around. Chieftain or STB1, getting to great position
properly playing their tank, class - then no aim-60TP
just derps them in the face with no specific goal, but to random
splash s--- for 200-400 That sort of stuff. Good
riddance.

agree with you, I don't like +2/-2 MM. Thats a whole different
beast to argue over. Balance the game with +1/-1, I'm all
in -> it has nothing to do with HE though. Speaking
of HE, I play enough to see that it doesn't matter anyway. HE was
trash and did 0 damage hits against heavy tanks all the
time. Who cares if its lower now, it was dirt low to begin
with
