Draschel: I wouldn't say its bad for good players. Its just not catered to
their strengths and potential. It passively boosts sub-par and
average players. No different than a Defender. Slow, so they
don't get themselves in trouble too quickly. And very well
armoredVery weird to see tanks having horrendous turret traverse
dispersion, but good movement dispersion and aim-time. Supposed to
be the other way around. Only American TD like T28HTC, T30, 110E4
had this problem before, or the CDC. Now they are adding more
actual tanks that have it, like AMX30 Proto and Tomato. At any
rate, all I think Tomato needs to make it more reasonable, is UDES
Alt 5 engine, they both share the Scania '14' and have the same fit
basic hull shape. And lower the turret dispersion to 0.20. These
changes make it more bearable, without making the tank any more
un-counterable than it currently is. Even with UDES engine, and
bonds turbo, the thing would still be slower than Krevlasky or 50TP
proto without any equipment. And lets be real here, even the
lowered 0.20 turret dispersion would still be
awful.

Draschel: Ask yourself this, when complaining about a hull down Badger, Kran,
IS7, Chieftain, VZ55, STB1.Just ask yourself a
few things.
1. did it
drive more than 300m for it? Typically unless your map is
westfield, the answers yes.
2.
How much time are these hulldown tanks spending skulking in
forests? Very little.
3. is this
vehicle and user, playing the game with one hand, just clicking the
mouse? No.Now as arta scum - ask yourself. Did you drive more than
150m from spawn? 90%, no. Time in forests, if a
forest map. 100%. Game played 1-handed? 90%, yes. Case
closed.

Alphatankers, on Dec 19 2021 - 08:39, said: Arty is a necessary part of the game. Those whining about arty
would switch to whining about hull down heavies that can't be dug
out if arty was removed.
Link on message: #12965232

Draschel: Arta are not necessary, at all. In fact, they are among the
most hated, toxic things that frustrate users within the game. And
when they are NOT in the game, the game enjoyment typically raises
quite the margin according to participants. Everyone HATES
3-clicker per side teams. EVERYONE loves no clicker per side
teams. You weren't around for the start of the game
meta. It wasn't hulldown heavies, because the only hulldown heavy
was T30, and T30 was slow. Heavy meta was IS7s, then introduced
E100s, then introduced 110E5s, to 113s and FV215B until they
mega-buffed E5, then Maus+Type 5. Hulldown meta didn't really take
off until the second take 110E5 mega buffs, and then the super
conqueror + WZ111111111115A that replaced 215B and 113.
Scumbag arta were USED LONG BEFORE hulldown tanks were a
problematic work-around. Arta were even used when they only went to
tier 8, in fact many tier 7 arta were used like M40/43 and 212A
because they were thought to be better than 261 and T92. It
was like that even with medium tanks. Medium tanks weren't a thing
until they were expanded to tier 10, and when they WERE EXPANDED,
only 140 and T62A were useful. STB1 wasn't a hulldown part of meta
until japanese med re-work. Medium tanks for a long time were
tanks that don't necessarily attack with hulldown, but just go
hulldown for armor (907/140/T62A) Arta is a force
multiplier that callers exclusively coordinate in CW for digging
out camp using conquer GC looping velocity, or mass push
support taking advantage of stun. Or for attrition defensive
fire in stall wars for draw. Arta is not a hull down breaker.
Chieftain vs chieftain and STB1 are hulldown breaker, using
superior tactics and performance, down to the commander and each
man. It takes BOTH TEAMS RUSHING OUT for the same hulldown spots,
using hulldown tanks, to break the hulldown. Not arta. Problem is
with these notions, none of this crap happens in random battle,
because CALLERS & COORDINATION DON'T EXIST in pub.
Holy bananas from bananaland, why speak about junk you don't have a
clue of. The only whiners here are poor performing
players that whine, because they can't play their arta like they
used to. Like wanting to play their arta, eat Doritos, watch
ESPN, smoke, have a beer, listen to their wife yell at them, play
with the kids..... all at once WHILE STILL playing WoT. And STILL
do 2k damage they can't manage to do in a normal tank because they
know little about the game if anything.

Draschel: Deadefedder can actually climb to 26.01 camo value. Without using
camo net or low exhaust or natural cover directive. Just running
rations, ventilation directive, ventilation, BIA. And that is
without a bush, so deadefedder -CAN- actually sit in the back and
shoot. I find it extremely dumb that it can justifiably, according
to WG have more camo than 110E3 and Grille. The accuracy and
velocity are alright for the job. The big problem is the inability
to relocate. It can't manage it at all. Tanks like SU130PM, S1,
WZ120G, AMX CDA are examples of things that can leave, and turn up
somewhere else. This thing can't. So I wouldn't snipe with it
unless a map like prokhorovka or El Hallef and tier 10 battle
Subject: Ferdinand do's and don'ts
Link on message: #12965182
Link on message: #12965182
Draschel: You also need to consider a big problem deadefedder has. The
frontal shoulders, mud-guards. Not just the LFP, the shoulders and
mudguards are awfulSort of like AMX M49 and Type 4. When the tank
shows some side profile, these plates 'even' out in angle, to
ridiculously vulnerable thin armor. Even frontally, its only 115mm~
effective. Its full of weakspots, which is why I just stated
trading 490 damage to enemies. The armor only ever works
hulldown.

Ball_Turret, on Dec 19 2021 - 05:15, said: So, for top/equal tier I should follow along with any heavies while
bullying anything smaller and when bottom distance becomes my best
friend. For equipment I am using the standard vents and gun rammer
set up, but for third slot I have gun laying drive to cut down on
aim time should I swap it for improved hardening for the HP boost
or something else?
Link on message: #12965179

Draschel: How far have you made progress into Field Mods?Deadefedder
does not need Gun layer. If you have done Field mods,
choose survival bonus equipment slot. Run
Vents, hardening, rammer. This setup should be
selected for maps like Himmelsdor, Ensk, Ruinberg, Pilsen, ParisIf
you have done Field mods, your alternate setup for grass maps can
be: Rotation mech, vents, rammer. This
setup still has survival slot boosting vents. Choose maps like
Prokho, Sand River, El Halleuf, Highway
Deadefedder can use scouting as secondary bonus slot,
with optics. This provides synergy with radioman having
''situational awareness'' as an early skill, something 4-man crews
have more difficulty getting. This setup would be Vents, optics,
rammer. For city close encounter maps, you can still have the
scouting slot boosted by vents, for a net bonus. Rotation mech,
vents, rammer. But I personally think Hardening+survival slot is
the better choice If you do not have powerful crew, your first
skills should be 6th sense, situational awareness, smooth ride,
snapshot, safe stowage. Then start working on repairs or camo, your
choice. When repairs or camo are complete at 100%, start building
up the next skill using the default (+) sign. After about 45% in,
retrain the crew to Brothers in Arms for the 2nd skills, and start
working on repairs or camo again. A casual Deadefedder
load, are 15AP / 10 APCR / 5 HE. I personally would use 2 AP /
26 APCR / 2 HE. Remember to paint your tank using the 75k
buyable option.

Draschel: First of all, cancel maps like Redshire and Malinovka if you have
premium time. Ferdinand is too slow for these. Ferdinand
(Deadefedder actually its name) is a heavy tank with no turret, not
a TD. Like Badger or Jag pz E100 What you want to do is
pick on enemies, like tiers 6,7,8. Not tiers 9-10. What you want to
do is trade HP, 490 vs attacks like 240-320. Choose survivalability
for 2nd Field mod bonus spot, and use hardening for even more
HP Try to use as much hulldown spots as possible. Remember its
better to stock enough 311 pen APCR and not need them, than to go
against tough high tiers and not have them.

down What kind of tank, without gun depression?--Are the tanks
soft targets, without gun depression like Nashorn or Achille? This
is particularly bad setup--Are the tanks tough, like 121 or T28HTC,
but have low gun depression. Here they can at least block damage,
spot. What purpose is the gun depression to be use
for?--Spotting? IS7 doesn't have great gun dep, but can go hulldown
and be a real nuisance.--or do you wish to block, spot, deal
damage? Like how Kran, Badger, Chieftain do Tanks like the
old, pre-buff FV4005 were in particularly bad situations to be in.
They were large, require alot of aiming for pens, have no gun
depression, and on top even have no armor for spotting.

gave them AP/HEAT to use in 3 ammo spread. Apply this to all tiers,
not just tier 5 up. Make their HE like tank HE shells. Remove stun,
remove alternate HE. Improve their VR, HP, dispersion, accuracy,
aim-time. Case in point, M37, M7 Priest doesn't become

in. I agree, raising the cost of premium ammunition would
lower some of its usage. But it does nothing to balance
the other plaguing issue of too much heavy armor that AP has
very little chance to pen EVEN WITH AIMING. Aiming simply doesn't
solve all problems with some armor models. And WG is ever
current up-armoring tanks as they see fit. Ask yourself, why
is HEAT or APCR a problem, for you? When you can buy and use it as
well? You need to be more familiar with the game. It
isn't a retort, or insult. Its advice.

I have a very surface level understanding of the activities so questions regarding specifics might need to go to Tragic's DMs but if I'm understanding correctly - drops didn't work on the first day?
As for drops being limited per region - we often have multi-region campaigns. Sometimes we want to run a campaign that EU doesn't want to run, or vice versa. Such is an unfortunate biproduct of regional publishing
There are drops on CC Channels but in order to get the
mystery drops approved they needed to be limited to our
channel.
To my knowledge there is enough scheduled programming between official streams and CC streams (We extended our official stream schedule as well, for the event specifically) in order to ensure ample coverage to give players at least the minimum amount of watch time needed to claim that day's respective mystery drop.

the lack of proper information has been glaringly obvious it is
actually appreciated when you do
What I'd do however is make a "Staff only" thread and pin it to the top of the page instead of posting additional info at page 15 etc in a thread where people are voicing their frustrations, saves people from looking through dozens of pages to find the proper info, perhaps it should be one of those "cross forum" posts because "general discussion" is where a lot of people go looking for info reposted from Reddit because they feel you guys aren't posting relevant info as quickly here
At least I'll stop expecting anything in the immediate future. thx <- not being sarcastic

DomoSapien: Valid feedback! I've been under the weather all week (covid tests
came back negative though!) so I admittedly haven't been keeping up
with the situation as closely as I'd like. Will make more of an
effort to keep y'all posted as the situation develops.
For what it's worth, though admittedly not the greatest excuse, we haven't been posting super regularly so you can generally keep up with updates by checking the "Staff Posts" section of the forum. But definitely not ideal, I hear ya.
Edit 3: Actually, good news! The operation just launched for the compensation to go out, it will gradually go through the list throughout the day and night. Should be wrapped up by tomorrow at the latest.

Draschel: CS-53 has a shadow hanging over it. Quite unexplainable. Most
streamers publicly shame it as extremely unreliable, a whiff. While
on paper, its an entirely different picture. The tank is SUPPOSED
to be somewhat effective. High pen, decent gun dep, more or less
acceptable gun handling, good mobility, good camo. The armor isn't
good, but neither is the armor bad like CDC or STA2. But for some
reason, most people hate the tank. Probably because of how good
premium LIS is CS59 is generally thought of as an
improvement. Keep in mind these tanks have enough armor generally
to block HE, or stop -2 MM med and LT AP shells, but has
dramatically less armor than peer tanks like T54 or WZ120. Think of
the armor as like Skoda T50. Some, more than crap like PTA or
Kunze, but no where near enough. Compared to E50, M46 Patton -
CS59 enjoys a substantial premium shell pen increase
though. CS63 is a clan wars tool. Its properties allow
for significant versatility and early opportunity. It can race to
locations like LT, but arriving there can bring the firepower/pen
of a medium. Sort of like how fast heavy tanks, like 113, object
260 and 277, appear in medium flanks, but bring the HP and armor of
heavies. This is a tremendous use for skilled people who know of
deployment and map positions. If you can't use this property
though, the tank is rather mediocre. Sort of like Centurion AX. It
really needs to use its highlights for any sort of reward. Beware
the turret armor, as its not its listed '260mm' Its a joke.
Also when fighting CS63, beware the auto-ricochet hull. Its like
Progetto, aim at the turret or LFP.

Draschel: Madilda LVT is still as slow as other matilda, maybe a tiny hair
faster. The turret rotation however is slower, the turret
also has less view range. The armor is still the base
hull, but the turret is much weaker and vulnerable to any threat,
even some autocannon and HE. Less overall hitpoints. The firepower
features less accuracy, less DPM, poorer shell velocity....but
maintains the gun depression. 110 alpha damage is quite good tier
IV though.Overall, its kind of a contrast, because you have weaker
presence than normal Matilda in terms of DPM and durability, but
don't even have the ability to snipe either 6
/10. KV Sh is pretty bad. While the protection is
alright, the DPM is alright - it certainly isn't a proper mix
compared to tech tree KV1 or KV220. KV Sh has T-34 Sh gun. It
has considerably more reliable firepower than KV220, though does
not have KV220 reduced MM spread. In addition, KV220 is bizarrely
much quicker. In comparison to KV1 on tech tree, KV Sh lacks the
up-armored turret module, the bolted on space armor panels are
mediocre at best. And lacks firepower, as KV can use 122/85/57
which are all better.KV Sh is the slowest of them all, which is a
problem considering KV1 on tech tree isn't fast to begin with. 950
HP is good, but really what is with that -5 gun depression,
awful.3 /10. M4-85 is probably the most worthwhile, neat
one of the bunch. But be careful of the big flaws, such as DPM and
gun depression. People maybe slighted by an M4 tank with bad gun
dep.M4-85 has low DPM, but it does not mean it has low firepower.
It has a tier 6 gun, the gun found on KV-1S. While it does not have
KV-1S gun handling, it does have some camo, some VRThe base M4 hull
is not like the rounded M4s or T6 or Firefly, but instead more like
Easy Eight. Not 51mm, but instead 63mm. This is important because
it will splash threats like 105/122mm howitzers, or block alot of
the 75mm 75-90mm HEAT pen ammo. It also has reasonable chance to
block 92mm AP commonly used by tanks like T14, Excelsior, M3 Lee.
Overall, don't rely on this armor though, but it can show up
everynow and then. The LFP is not useful weakspot either, but
unlike RAM or M4 improved the side armor is weak. Keep it in mind,
M4-85 doesn't have the HP pool Valiant, Pz T25, RAM, Turan get. It
has base T5 medium HP, rather than improved HPThe mobility is sort
of disappointing. While it is not slow slow slow, like matildas or
Valiant - it is not mobile like T-34, PzIV, or Shermans. The
mobility seems to be alot like Turan, Hydrostat, or M10 RBM. Keep
it in mind, enough for re-location, but not enough for encircling
targets and dashes across the open. 7.5
/10

misunderstanding of how we wouldn't get the entire compensation at
the conclusion of the 9th day. Gotcha.
Link on message: #12964182

DomoSapien: er, well this is just my personal opinion but all of my
professional training about Community Management has generally
implied that apologies are counter-intuitive because no matter how
sorry we are, what matters is the results and what we're doing to
resolve the issue.
I don't think anyone on our team is happy that any of this occurred or intentionally trying to misguide y'all or misrepresent the facts. Instead of telling you I'm sorry, I'm thanking you for putting up with my shenanigans. In this case, the shenanigans being the initial miscommunication and the considerable delay in getting y'all compensated for the mixup.
I could certainly tell you we're sorry - because we are, but that wouldn't really be worth much in lieu of the actual compensation you were promised and deserve. So getting that out as quickly as possible is our utmost priority.
Again, thank you for your patience. We genuinely do appreciate it, as well as your support in the first place. And your passionate feedback in keeping us accountable... We're thankful for quite a bit this holiday season.

churchill50: In my opinion, definitely the CS-63. The CS-53 has good pen
and a decent alpha/pen mix. But the gun is quite derpy. It also
takes quite a while to reach its top speed, has virtually no armor,
and only has 1,300 HP. It's not that good a tank.Plus, the CS-52
LIS is miles better. The CS-63 on the other hand is rather
solid. Sort of a different flavor of Leopard I that trades some gun
reliability for insane mobility and good DPM. It's quite solid in
pubs, and is also used a lot in Clan Wars.

DomoSapien: So, more somber news to share unforunately:
There is a technical issue with our mass-invoicing tool that's preventing us from sending out the shards compensation en-masse. It seemed to do just fine with the antiduplicator charges, so those appear to have gone out without issue, but the shards aren't playing nice with that system.
So, we are looking into another way to credit them out - it's likely that will be in the form of manual invoices that will be processed in chunks today. We can't process too many of those at the same time without completely bogging down our backend systems and preventing CS agents from assisting players with other inquiries that require use of the backend systems, so it may be a bit slow.
Edit: Apologies, I misunderstood - the mass invoices via backend can't necessarily happen today BECAUSE it would completely bog down the systems and potentially cause players to experience account issues. Options are being investigated for a proper solution ASAP.
As for cutoff time to qualify for compensation, I've been told that it was publicly stated as being 2PM CT - two hours after the article was changed (12 Noon CT)
Needless to say we are equally upset about the considerable delays in resolving this issue and greatly appreciate all of y'all's patience while we work towards a resolution.
