through the same water, rather than it being tank dependant.

Lert: If you like a tank, keep it. If you don't, don't. Depending
on your skill and whether or not you have premium, you can start
losing credits for bettles at tier 6 ~ 8. Only the absolute best
players make money reliably at tier 9, and even they don't make
enough to make that their sole source of income to fund a tier 10.
Besides, if you ever want to platoon with other players or
take part in WG's many tournaments and events you're going to need
a spread of tanks anyways.

narrowed down since beta. As for the MM for a specific tank,
look it up in the wiki.

patience, wanting instant-gratification now. This is a game for
people willing to invest time and effort. That T29 will be there,
don't worry, it's not going away. Well, unless you drive it

Nobody ever claimed or insinuated it would be a replacement

don't like arty because it takes away from playing tanks. Instead
of awesome tank battles flexing around the map pushing retreating

which translates into not being able to do all those awesome
battles flexing around the map pushing retreating flanking adapting
to where the enemy is and where it isn't because everyone is afraid
of getting whacked for massive hit point and crew loss so they hide
behind hard cover most of the match constantly moving back and
forth because they don't want to get whacked. So in the end the
meta devolves into fear of a single tank literally forcing a
stagnant and boring gameplay of hide and seek or go boom if you

would be playing a game of football but with the added fun of a
couple of 90lb weakling snipers in the endzones taking
pot shots at the players as they try to play. Sounds fun
yes?
Will arty ever get removed?
Doubtful as its too ingrained into the game with too many in
peoples garage but its the worst slap in the face to have the
devs/reps say its compelling gameplay and crack jokes about
crayfish whining about it.

American Football is the one and only person who is carrying
the ball. Now, let's say instead that the snipers are given a
restriction that they may only shoot the player who is carrying the
ball at the time? Players whose sole skill is running with the
ball, easily dodging around and over defenders, will probably take
great exception to this wrinkle in the game. But who says you have
to run with the ball? Suddenly the best football players become
those who understand the passing game (as, for example, played in
rugby). It does't make football impossible. It makes it different.
As for hiding because they don't want to get whacked,
fortune favours the bold. Why should a -team- be blocked by a
single vehicle? In a team game. (I expect I have, compared to the
average, a very low survival rate)

some equivalent such as the lack of ASDIC), and contrary to popular
opinion, counter-battery is possible. (though, granted, less
common at today's higher tiers because there aren't enough
artillery pieces and the ones that are left have been nerfed so
they shoot less frequently to spot). The closer WoWS analogy to
artillery is the aircraft carrier.

The_Chieftain: Why were you "Hiding behind a small hill"? For starters, if
you're still being spotted in order for arty to aim on you, you
suck at hiding. Secondly, 'hiding behind a hill' does not require
'staying stationary', if you had been. The same rules for survival
in the open apply against indirect fire when also susceptible to
direct fire also apply for survival in the open against
indirect fire when not susceptible to direct fire. I don't care
where I am, if I am stationary, get whacked by arty, even if it
comes as an utter surprise to me in the belief that they didn't
know I was there, my immediate reaction is to berate myself for
overconfidence and being an easy target. Not to curse the arty guy
who was doing his job, evidently effectively. Secondly, you
have no way to know the targeting prioritization of the attacking
artillery. Perhaps it was hitting the highest XVM number. Perhaps
it was an assessment that the E-100 didn't seem likely to go
anywhere, and that the faster medium was actually a greater threat
to the team in the event that he use his speed to get to a position
of advantage. Perhaps the arty was already aimed in your general
direction, and decided to take a less-likely crack at you instead
of resetting his aim time to go for the E-100. Perhaps the E-100,
slow though it may have been, was not staying stationary and you
were. Perhaps you were less healthy, and the assessment was to take
a gun out of play, instead of damaging the E-100. I've used all of
those (Except XVM, as I don't use it) as factors in my targetting
criteria, and probably others. But if you want to believe
that the only possible reason that artillery hit you was because
the guy is using XVM, then go on ahead, and keep getting yourself
blown up.
Subject: The Lakeview Valley Push Has to Stop in tier 10....

Crucis, on Nov 10 2014 - 14:00, said: There's a problem with this post vs the thread
title. If a single T95 held your team at bay, then it was
hardly a real PUSH. A real "push" would have had your entire
valley force keep moving forward no matter what and they would have
"pushed" past the T95 and annihilated him. The problem
here is that teams that go valley rarely ever really "push".
They get to the top of the ridge and play peek a boo! And
that's why most valley attacks fail. They're not real
pushes! REAL valley pushes actually could work against
relatively weak defense forces, but ONLY if no one stops to play
peek-a-boo. You have to be constantly moving forward, because
the real goal of any push strat is to charge the enemy, overrun
them, and crush them. But when teams stop to play peek-a-boo
sniping games at the top of the ridge, the valley battle is lost.
Real valley pushes could work. The problem is that I
suspect that no more than 5%, maybe even 1%, of valley attacks are
real "pushes". And that is why the strat is generally a bad
idea in pub matches.

concentration of fire. a solid mass of your vehicles meeting a
scattering of the others is not going to fail unless absent
aggressive spirit. Same with the Malinovka 2-minute-rush. So many
'knowledgeable' players will immediately discount the suggestion
and ignore it that the rest of us who are willing to actually make
a co-ordinated team crack end up with less of a chance of
success.... thus any ensuing failure reinforces to the
'knowledgeable' that it doesn't work. If you see a large
proportion of your team heading for the valley, here's a thought.
Go with them. Even if you disagree. A poor plan executed violently
and enthusiastically has a better chance of success than a good
plan executed half-heartedly. (That's given the belief that's it's
a poor plan to begin with) Swallow your pride, go with the
mass of your team, and use the advantage of concentrated force. It
works more often than people who 'know better' think. Now, this
isn't mindless. sometimes the opposition has enough in the valley
that your concentrated force still won't win (in which case they
don't have a hell of a lot in town either). Consider reversing
direction and changing your line of attack to another corridor. But
two or three TDs are not going to stop a good valley push, so have
your cut-off level appropriate.

much more secure since stationary vehicles in some form of cover
(eg two hull-down T32s) are suddenly all but invulnerable, making
people far more reluctant to be agressive along those lines. And,
frankly, an arty can only engage one person every 30 seconds or so.
If the -team- is being aggressive (as opposed to just one player),
I suspect the team will be successful even with the presence of
arty. After all, arty hates moving targets.

which I could help my team the most. The purpose of this game, is
to win. That is stated in the objectives of each battle "Kill all
enemy tanks or capture their base". Doing either of those achieves
victory, and so the objective of the game is to win. So I chose to
go, where I can help my team win the best.
And so I get punished. For doing what the game tells me to do. And I can't do anything about it.

The_Chieftain: Isn't that simply another dimension to the decision-making process,
however? "Yes, going here will help my team win the game more
easily... but it also increases the chance I will get hit by arty.
If I go -here-, I am somewhat less effective in the short term, but
I am less likely to get damaged by arty, so I can affect the game
for longer". And so on, you have to conduct a continuous risk
assessment. And, of course, the enemy team is subject to the same
risk/benefit analysis problem given you will have an arty of your
own to call upon. I would submit that the best players are the ones
who can best balance all the risks, be it artillery, dashing
between cover in view of suspected TDs, or whatever.

the game should be "If you are a better than average player, you
should win more." Any other outcome will lead to arguments of
rigging, a loss of confidence, and as a result, a loss of
customers, finishing up with a loss of money. On the other hand, if
we have a basic premis of "reward skill" (i.e. good players are
more likely to win more), we should have better reputation,
longer-playing customers, who are likely to give more money as a
result.

the user seriously.

the KV-2? Perhaps because the class in the game is designed to not
be able to do it, and instead have, compared to arties, fast aiming
time, fast reload, in a vehicle with a modicum of armor and more
than a handful of hitpoints? Now, you can make an argument
for the creation of a new class of gun/howitzer vehicles, with
overall stats balanced to reflect its abilities to conduct
effective fires in either direct or indirect mode, but until that
happens, I think your argument's a bit of a red herring.

BTW this isn't directed at yer reply
but at the original concept of holding ground.. I am under the
impression that they were to engage from ambushes and reposition
frequently, hence their high speed. That they may have been
intended to 'hold' a position but to be mobile within that
constraint? .. Anyway thanks fer the reply

was noted in one of the papers of the Tank Destroyer Board I came
across recently. I haven't gotten around to doing a Hatch on it,
yet.
