One for those arty OP deniers

That is stated in the objectives of each battle "Kill all enemy tanks or capture their base". Doing either of those achieves victory, and so the objective of the game is to win. So I chose to go, where I can help my team win the best.
And so I get punished. For doing what the game tells me to do. And I can't do anything about it.

The_Chieftain: Isn't that simply another dimension to the decision-making process, however? "Yes, going here will help my team win the game more easily... but it also increases the chance I will get hit by arty. If I go -here-, I am somewhat less effective in the short term, but I am less likely to get damaged by arty, so I can affect the game for longer". And  so on, you have to conduct a continuous risk assessment. And, of course, the enemy team is subject to the same risk/benefit analysis problem given you will have an arty of your own to call upon. I would submit that the best players are the ones who can best balance all the risks, be it artillery, dashing between cover in view of suspected TDs, or whatever.
