validity in your point but I feel mine is also valid, I see no
reason for Sheriff accounts to have the facility to platoon, or if
platooned disable map choice. Realistically catching someone
abusing the function is nigh on impossible. *note* I dont
think most sheriffs platoon would do this, or would have even
considered doing it, as ever its always just a few bad apples.

churchill50: Sorry, I totally missed this reply until now. Some clans
will let you use the Obj 140 instead of the Obj 907, others will be
more picky. Generally, the higher the level of clan you're in, the
more they're going to want the Obj 907.You can still play pretty
commonly with only tech tree tanks. If you have the Obj 277, CS-63,
STB-1, and a couple of the niche tanks, you should be good to go.
At that point, it's just a matter of playing well in them so you
get picked for battles.You can also talk to your clan's commander
about making sure you get enough battles in a Campaign to get a
tank, in return for sticking around the clan once you have
it. Clan requirements vary wildly. I'd focus on trying to find
a clan that you think would work well for you, and then seeing what
their requirements are.Some clans look at what meta tanks you have
and your stats in them.Some clans just eval you by having you play
in some Advances with them.Some clans you get in by knowing the
right people.

churchill50: I'd highly suggest getting the Obj 277.The IS-7 is more forgiving
(because of better armor), but the 277 is the better tank overall
due to much better mobility and a much better gun. There's
been no news of any possible nerfs to the Obj 277, and there also
aren't any tanks coming soon that would make it obsolete.In my
opinion, it will continue to be a staple of Clan Wars for the
foreseeable future. As far as what defines a meta tank,
that's hard to say.For a tank to be meta, it has to fulfill a role
that's needed in Clan Wars better than the other options out there.
That means that some tanks that are really solid in Random battles
(like the S Conq and Kranvagn for instance) are almost never used
in Clan Wars. A quick list of meta tanks would be:The best
tech tree tanks to have are the Obj 277, CS-63, and STB-1. Other
tanks like the Vz 55, AMX 50B, Bat Chat, E100, Leopard I, Strv
103B, T110E3, T110E4, and IS-7 are also used, but much less
commonly.Depending on the clan, you can use the Obj 140, although
higher level clans will want you to use the Obj 907.If you have an
Obj 279(e), that's also used. The Chieftain, VKK, and 907 are used
constantly, but you have to play CW in order to get them.If you're
a good arty player, then I believe the GW E100 and CGC are the two
best arty to have? I'm not sure though since I don't play arty.If
you're a good light tank player, then the EBR 105 and Manticore are
used. Everything else is obsolete. Hopefully that helps!

1LT_Dwayne: What about the fun aspect of the game? It is fun to not be limited
to one and only one tactic because the maps and mm had decided so.

Draschel: people would be more willing to help you, if you seemed more
genuine and less irritating.There are a surplus of 3rd party
resources available to you, to compare/contrast VR and camo.Tanks
gg, WoTCamoValues. There are also streamer specific break-down
youtube clips on optics VS CVS Generally speaking, supposed of
course you are in a tank with reasonable camo (not heavies, or
german assault TD) and are behind a layer or 2 of bushery -
and are waiting with something like Binoculars active and have
445m, you have advantage over scouts running optics and 445 VR as
well. This senario generally applies to late game, not a 15vs15
environment. Because you are stationery and they are moving
quickly, you also have a notable gun handling advantage and 1st
strike potential. VR is great for spotting fat meds and heavy tanks
moving across the open at great distances, quickly. But VR doesn't
really counter people camo'ed up and experienced in camo/bush
mechanics proficiency. These people generally need a smarter
approach unless you wish to toss away free HP

Draschel: TL1PC came after the fact, the American M46 and M48A Patton
re-work. And SPECIFICALLY didn't come with the cupolas for that
reason AMX30B would not be top of the class even if it got
back its 320 HEAT pen and had a smaller cupola. Why play
super conquer and 110E5? Chieftain exists. Why play IS7 or 277 when
someone can use 260. Why T62A, when 121B, 140, 907 a tonne better?
Why play IS4, 279E better. Why play 113, WZ111111115A anymore, VZ55
and 430U superior. And none of these tanks I'm naming are
even bad. ''But better exists, so why''? Terrible
response. They have buffed 113 more than once, another
collectors tank. If they can buff 113, they can buff
30B.

capacity to pick whatever map you want and tailor it to certain
tanks. This would not be an issue in itself as people playing
sheriff accounts have no personal gain, they can however platoon
with people and tailor the map to them. Got some campaign missions
to get through lads? Here we go.... I dont think they should
have the capacity to platoon, if they want to platoon they can use
their own accounts and it would prevent the few abusing a feature

Draschel: Precisely. OI, Oni, Oho can have their 20 base damage
back, returning the howitzer to 910 like it was before, like T49
and KV2 and SU152. I would even raise the premium HEAT to
160. Type 4 needs both the radio man and driver hatches,
both 20mm less than the front hull. @230, they are 50/50 hits for
something like Bofors tomato, T34 heavy, Lowe. Instead of it being
250 and bouncing most med-to-heavy 250-260 APCR even. Lower the
cupola 10mm too. Increase the butt of the tank armor all to 150,
not 75. Funnily enough, I've seen both Type 4 and 5 take massive HE
damage rolls, like over 400 from flanking T49 and sheridan,
shooting it in the a-- with HE where the armor drops to 75 instead
of 150. Include Oho 150mm howitzer as stock gun with better
stats, significantly buff RoF with current stock 127mm to 4.3 and
have it new top gun choice. Remove the 140mm gun. Buff the
150mm gun to 0.47 accuracy, increase the damage to 700/1000/1000,
reduce pen to 242. Increase to 400m VR Type 5 like the
type 4 needs both radio man and driver slits 250. Lower cupola
10mm. Increase the butt to 150 too. As with the type 4 150mm
changes, the same. Increased 700/1000/1000 alpha, but pen drop to
242. Increase to 410m VR

Jaguarz: is knowledge, pure and simple. People dont understand that
even with tens to hundreds of thousands of battles under their belt
they still lack basic knowledge of the games functions and seem
incapable of either learning or looking at the minimap. We have all
seen them, someone with 40k games at 45% overall, yesterday it was
one of these in a T9 Prog 66 whining that the t8 mediums (in a t10
game) didnt flank the heavies even though a cursory look on the
minimap would show they had complete cover from their mediums AND
TDs, 200 games he had in his Prog 66 and a 37% win rate. You
cant explain things to people like this, its always everyone elses
fault, they are seemingly the worlds greatest tankers in their own
minds who have their games ruined by incompetents on their team and
cheaters on the other. I generally add these people to ignore so as
I know to grab kills on them in the future and not support them if
they are on my team. Then I came across a new player in a
Torvagn who was trying to sidescrape like a boss but I was in my
ISU 152k and 50m of side armour meets overmatch rules... I dont
know why but I actually took the time to explain to him why he got
wrecked after the game, he soaked it all up like a sponge, asked to
platoon and we have done daily for two weeks and his
progression has been exponential, he wasnt a complete newb, he
played wot on console (lol) but hes getting the basics down,
learning to read the map, learning to place himself in the best
position based on tank, team dispersion and tier spread, learning
weakpoints and flexibility. I have no doubt my new minion will
surpass me in probably not very much time and then become an
elitist butthole
but its actually nice to see someone possessing the capacity
to learn pull himself out of a 44% win rate rushing too fast to t10
and then turning it all around. Sadly being a cynic I believe my
minion to be in the minority, that the arrogance and stupidity of
most poor players prevents them from realizing that they are the
issue not the team but still, there are people out there able to
grow. Theres a Unicum on these boards who offers coaching on
these boards with no strings, I would suggest anyone above average
to reach out to find people who want to be an asset to the team and
see what you can do together or if you want to improve reach out
for advice and experience, its also nice to have someone to commit
with you when you want to do a high risk/reward play.

have not been able to manage 1.5k damage in Elc 90. And they lead
the leaderboard. Thats a good damage game. Trust me, with its
explosive diarrhea gun handling, thats a good game

Jaguarz: Its a weird one and you need to patch its deficiencies more
than you would other tanks, I have grousers, bond rammer and bounty
IRM on mine in order to fix up its sluggish demeanor and traverse
issues which are overlooked by many. I find the grousers more use
than turbo as the traverse allows for bringing the gun to bear
faster and to keep its armour pointing the right way. YMMV.

Draschel: 76mm makes a huge difference. Lets look at the numbers. Don't use
70 degrees, because that is ricochet angle. That means null, as any
tank with 41+ can do it. Lets use an applicable angle of 65
degrees, as a usable angle extended past ricochet angle. 51mm @65
is 102mm effective thickness. Keep in mind, this is without an AP
or APCR shell over 2x bore size. So the normalization value is not
2x. With a bore size over 2x, which is fairly easy as it only means
105mm, it is even less. 76mm @65 is 152mm effective. This is 50mm
extra armor. And while it will not keep you safe against most
threats, such as 175 pen from common 100 and 122 mid-tier guns, it
will stop alot of mid-tier light tank and med tank AP shells that
frankly current 51mm sides has no chance stopping. 76mm sides
effectively removes NEARLY EVERY x2 normalization opportunity. only
exception FVs. It also removes pesky HE penetrations like from
EBR75, Excalibur, or IS6. There is a back plate, behind the turret
that needs to be increased too, or it remans a horrible
weakspot that also gives you engine damage.
102mm. Turret cheeks from 139 to 152mm may not seem like
an improvement at all. But lets average the cheek curvature to 46
degrees. That turns from 186 to 203mm effective. That basically
removes alot of easy penetrations like Mutant 6 Panther
8.8 Skoda 27 Suka pershing, to 50/50
instead. T103 is the closest example that compares to
Prototype. And with its 1250 HP, I would say that is a good
number to start with.

Draschel: I have thought to return to it. I did it very long ago. Before its
buff. I have no way to tell the combined assistance I was
pulling in, but I averaged 1,650 damage. If I ever did
make a return for field modification, I would use the stock gun
from T71. The thing is, T69 has sickening gun handling like T57,
its a shame when T54E1 was re-balanced they did not take a look at
T69. T69 could have certainly used 0.20/0.20 movement dispersion.
With the stock gun, you get rid of the annoying aim time, slightly
improve your turret rotation accuracy, the APCR boost is welcome,
and intershot dispersion bloom is improved. The DPM works in your
favor too.As for the pen, well as an ambusher T69 can get away with
losing pen. 90mm sucks at penetrating anyway. Pick your targets,
like progetto or Lorraine. 5x150 is pretty sad compared to 4x240,
but at least you will be doing it more often. Pains me
to think, T-34-2 has already been buffed twice. In probably not
even a year? AT15 at least got a gigantic armor increase, even if
it sucks still. All T69 has got in a handful of years is 50 measly
horsepower. While they are at it, buff Bat Chat 12T too

increase to 76mm would mean quite alot in making the tank more
versatile. In addition, the side cheeks should be increased to
152mmIf prototype had side armor increases, angling the tank would
be possible rather than being death trap it is now, if you
decide to angle. And if it could angle, the front armor would not
need increaseI think the TD desperately needs is an HP increase to
1,300 HP too. This gives it some actual use playing in the thick of
it. Considering T28, and TS5 HP? No reason 1,300 would be a
problem

Draschel: I would say some gold shell spam gets reduced. This and
making MM +1/-1Take for example, mid-pen guns within favorable
tier:: Say for example Firefy VC. I wouldn't have much qualms
shooting 171 pen against T3485M and T150. But because of ridiculous
25%, anything more armor than Rudy or Cromwell I shoot APCR
at.

Draschel: Are you being sarcastic here? or serious-It has a very
comparable camo value to Leo PTA. Do you think the PTA has
camo? -The striking damage sucks, but is offset by good
potential HE shells and high DPM. If you can make these work, you
can score some good damage-Armor of the hull is good for medium,
LFP UFP and side armor. Turret is poor, but just enough to
protect you from IS6/112 blasting you with HE, or
EBR75. -HP is fine for a medium tank. Are you trying to
be funny by saying it is not quick? RH07 compares alot
like the STA1 but with more speed, DPM, HE ammunition, armor. But
it loses some alpha damage, pen, camo, and gun depression.

simply sitting inside the circle. Really, capping is quite
simple.But playing the game and destroying the enemy, isn't so
simple. This needs thought out. While to get to the cap takes time
and safe passage, when there capping is as easy as ever, simply
sitting in the cap. With this reason alone, -ITS BEST TO LEARN HOW
TO PLAY THE GAME AND DESTROY THE ENEMY- as this grooms critical
thinking, experience, game skills. Sitting in the cap doesn't gain

Certainly is. But World of Tanks tends to favor more, trial of
combat. Learning of combat, or assisting combatants, is more
helpful in player development, than capping. I just want to
also talk of the importance of base defense, as the superior choice
to capping. Base defense, wins more battles than capping does. If
you see the signs coming, on your minimap, that your teammates can
and are making the play to push to cap....but your own base is
in danger or will soon be, let your team cap. BUT YOU RETURN FOR
BASE DEF, learn to see the signs first. Generally the base
defenders have advantage over cappers, use this
advantage. I don't play to cap. But do I not cap ever?
Certainly not. There are times where its a last enemy on the team,
they maybe left at one-shot hitpoints, but they are fast and have
high camo rating, against superior ally heavies and mediums. The
one-shot enemy will try to play cat-and-mouse, or hide. If there is
little time left, capping maybe necessary for winning, so
cap. Alot of this controversy, stems from two main
reasons. A) People playing for 3-marks. 3-marks don't
give a steaming s--- about whether you win or not. They care about
assistance provided and damage. Generally, competitive individual
shuns cap for assistance and damage.B) Completing missions.
Sometimes players, working on account missions for reward tanks,
need an objective. Whatever the objective is, they want to complete
it, and this is usually not by capping.

That don't seem too binary to me. The tank has considerable
ricochet zones, and they are WAYYYYYY to thickly armored for any
amount of HEAT pen present to even consider going
through.

in the tracks while side scraping by FV4005 and taking 650

howitzer? IS7, 277, 5A, Maus, E75 could fire HE in the
most ridiculous fashion. 30% of 630 is almost 200 damage, which is
significant Its as simple as this, you want to do chip damage
and annoy your opponent, aim your shots and hit the tank body. You
still will do reduced damage, and won't get 0. If you want to
still not aim, just derp someone not caring if it lands even
in the gun barrel, gun mantle, or track belts - enjoy your 0
damage. Aim? OBW, I enjoy the skill it takes, playing a tank
like Charioteer, shooting HE through a doghouse, and chain
fence, and 15mm arty track and still pen for full
damage.

Draschel: Side scraping heavy tank hit for 250 damage in the tracks by
another side scraping KV2 or OI, allows for ''dynamic
gameplay'' ????? You serious? Half the HP spammers, seriously
went to the same location to do just that, because they can get
away with broken chip damage. While the game certainly
may have lost what you think is funny, the game has gained huge
amounts of skill required. This has little to do with hull down,
this has to do with aiming your shots to hit tank body, not tracks,
not gun barrels, not spaced armor - but the actual tank
body. Kran van, Emill II, UDES 15/16 can very simply be fixed
by actual cupolas added to their frames. Emil 1951 has a cupola,
the same cupola can be added to Kran. Tanks with ridiculous hull
down abilities, but only in armor like STI, 279E, 430U, IS7, T62A
as well need more credible weakspots attributed to their turrets.
They cannot shoot like kran, UDES, chieftain..... but heck can
still spot, tank damage, hold up flanks. Tanks like 110E5, Type 5
heavy, 110E3, 268 V 4 need weaker weakspots, like Jag pz E100,
E100. Weak spots that even tier 8 tanks can pick out, opposed to
resorting to premium shells.
