churchill50: Those are the only tiers where there are clan activities to play in. Clan members will still platoon at other tiers. For tier 6 strongholds, the T-34-85M and Type 64 are the two kings. But, tier 6 strongholds aren't competitive at all, so you can bring just about anything. The whole point is to play fast and cram out as many battles as you can to increase credit profitability. For tier 8, again, it's non-competitive, so you can bring whatever you want. Generally, people just play premium tanks they're comfortable in. Again, you want to play as many battles per hour as you can. With a good credit booster (clan credit booster, personal credit boosters don't work in strongholds) and a good team, tier 8 strongholds are the most lucrative credit-grinding mode in the game. For tier 10, the best tech tree tanks to have are the Obj 277, CS-63, and STB-1. Other tanks like the Vz 55, AMX 50B, Bat Chat, E100, Leopard I, Strv 103B, T110E3, T110E4, and IS-7 are also used, but less commonly.If you have an Obj 279(e), that's also used. The Chieftain, VKK, and 907 are used constantly, but you have to play CW in order to get them.If you're a good arty player, then I believe the GW E100 and CGC are the two best arty to have? I'm not sure though since I don't play arty.If you're a good light tank player, then the EBR 105 and Manticore are used. Everything else is obsolete.

churchill50:  If you apply one of these discounts to a tank that is On-Track, only the higher discount applies.So lets say you apply the 20% tier 10 discount to the Badger. You'll get the 30% discount from the On-Track, but the discount from Holiday Ops won't give you anything extra. However, if you wait until after the On-Track ends, then the 20% Holiday Ops discount will still be active. I hope that answers your question!

Jaguarz: and again another short sighted and frankly silly suggestion which has gigantic flaws in implementation as indicated when wargaming TRIED it. Any alteration to gold round would significantly unbalance the game to the advantage of those already with the advantage, what do you think you plan would do for people facing high armour tanks 2 tiers above? What would it do for people facing 279e and Chieftains?

Draschel: While the OP is taking the topic to an extreme exaggeration - I do believe camo is out of control.VR doesn't counter camo, if the holder using camo is disciplined enough not to blatantly fire ammo off and get spotted....they simply won't.This leads to games progressing with huge dead zones, certain bush maps getting excluded altogether, and heavier tanks turtling. They need to make CVS a commander skill, not a equipment piece. This will help lots in trying to unravel camo.Max view range needs to be increased, I'd start with 475. Proxy should be 75, and bush transparency when firing should be 50.

churchill50: It's annoying, sure. But impossible? Not even close.The T55A and Obj 260 versions require 3x your HP blocked. VK100.01P, 112, Chrysler K, KV-4, and E75 are the best tanks I can think of for it. IS-4 also, even though it has so much HP, just because so many pubbies don't know how to pen it. E100 could also do it after the recent buffs. There are others, but those would be my choices. Play slow, kill the tanks that are penning you, leave the ones that are bouncing off of you alive to bounce more off of you, and just wait for a longer battle where you can get it.

1LT_Dwayne: Just looked at tank.gg and out of the top 32 tier 8 heavy tanks for speed only 8 are in tech tree. It tells you a lot of what you need for succeeding in this game. No wonder why so many people put a turbo on a lot of tanks too. Tanks with speed allows you to take the best spot on the maps and since maps are are so small good luck with relocating or convince your team to back off.

1LT_Dwayne:  I'm not in favor of lowering battle quality just so people can succeed. Apparently in California they have the lowest literacy rate and they are talking about removing D and F grades. 

Jaguarz: A great many players who 3 mark their tanks also go on the SA server where its much easier and there are quite a few documented cases of "good" players loading in 30 accounts in the small hours on the SA server and feeding massive damage to just a couple of tanks so..... no.

1LT_Dwayne: I was for it but I changed my mind. People like stats and it's a way to compare themselves. A lot of people would quit if there were a sbmm that keeps them around 50%. What I suggest is two leagues. You use tanks wr (not overall wr) and you put 49.99% and under on one league and the rest on the other leagues. Players that like the game and like to win will not have to deal with bots and bad players anymore.

Draschel:  But North spawn is winning spawn, even if their base is more easily taken by forces pushing North corridor from South. North spawn is placed 'closer' to the middle maze of passages. Less uphill climb. The middle dominates with map control.The map does need balance for the flaw, sure. You just have it all upside down.

Draschel:  Premium ammunition bar HESH shells, do change armor profiles by opening up areas for reliable penetration, or even opening a chance to penetrate to begin with.However, the important thing is it does not break how hit modelling takes place. Compared to HE rounds. A jag Pz with 420mm HEAT can shoot side scraping tanks just showing a sliver of track belt or the gun barrel all it wants, and its not going to apply any broken mechanics worth of damage. Just maybe damaging a modules own HP. But if it shot HE, bammmmm. This is the reason why it has been changed. HE not acting in unison to the game. While HEAT or APCR definitely increase chances to penetrate and rob armor, HE didn't even NEED TO HIT armor at all to commit robbery. And this was a huge problem for a decade.  I wouldn't say now its been fixed, because they hurt it too much with the spaced armor x3 resilience factor, I don't like that part. If it were up to me, I would make spaced armor normal, just x1. Heck maybe I would push for 0.75x But the changes to actually aiming, and actually having to strike armor - and not modules and/or outer decals - perfect.  

Jaguarz: RNG in this game mitigates any real cheats as most of the power is server side, the RNG and dispersion mechanisms prevents aimbots from being any real use, I think the vegetation removal and destruction markers on map are the only real advantage ones but I could be wrong. The real issue, to me, is the bots, they are an infestation, they are obvious and I dont understand it, why would people bot for tens of thousands of games? It makes no sense to me yet they do.

Tamaga should kick you out too. You play too much pubs. 300 HEAT pen with 840m/s. lol  Good luck having your team hit the dancing EBR. But Chieftain's APCR.....nuff said. That 300 pen simply isn't helping you against a Chieftain on the other side of the ridge. In fact, STB1 turret even has NO GREEN on it, with 300 pen HEAT. 325 APCR actually opens up green pen markers on STB1 with chieftains. Then you have less flank armour, no sideskirt, less HP so arta just bomb your tanks faster. Or heaven forbid EBR, arta, 110E3, Leo pen your Kran in the side with HE, that just won't ever feasibly happen with Chieftain. And horrendous movement dispersion with that aim-time, shooting at something outside of 200m is like going to work. How can you afford hardening, you can't.  Not a single top clan::  Aster, GIVUP, -G-, Mahou, Relic, Youjo, Crackd, TT6 call for a Kran as preferred CW meta tank on recruitment specs. Not a single one. Nice try professor. 260, 279E, Chieftain, 907 are asked by many.   

Draschel:  Why on earth would anyone shoot E100 or Maus or 263 in the front hull. Yet it happens all the timeAnd there are those guys in KV2 and OI, that are of the camp, anywhere for 30-50% HE damage, because ''why should I have to aim'' Good riddance. 

Draschel:  But you misunderstand.WG isn't driving people to shoot A B or C. WG is driving people to aim their shots and penetrate. Not to instead, not aim- splash a tank in the tracks for 40% damage. It has nothing to do with driving people to select ammo. It has to do with removing broken nonsense in the game. And I don't know about you, but I still made plenty of credits in FL grinding out tier 8-9 tech tree tanks, nevermind the amounts made using a tier 8 premium 

Draschel: very rarely. 279E just stone walls them as 300 HEAT not enough. And Chieftain is generally considered fast enough.  If you want faster, STB1. 2,000 HP pool even boosted by field mod and hardening is bad. Take el halleuf, wesfield, Cliff for example. If you field a team of 7-8 chieftains (or Kran) the HP difference between the 2 are 1,700 HP. Massive. And Kran soft stats, lol. Kran can't even afford to use hardening with those dispersion values and aim-time while movingIf you want a corner ambusher in city maps, T57 does that job WAY better I was on Youjo for 6 weeks, learning and a reward tank. Tamaga kicked me out for reasons. I maybe naughty, but I'm not stupid. Trust me. Kran is trash in environments that ALLOW 279E, Chieftain. It needs its controlled, Ranked Battles

Draschel: But in all seriousness, you can literally complain all you like. The answers will be the same everytime. The same 6 months ago, the same now, the same 6 months from now. You come here, and barf this out, and 2 things will happen:-- Players significantly better than you that understand how 25% RNG functions, how +2/-2MM functions, that strive for excellence in DPG/Aces/3-marks/WN8 are going to immediate downplay your complaints and tell you to get better. And tell you that the current armor models and game unfairness are driving people to use all tools possible for success.-- Players at your level, above it slightly, or far below are going to join your cause and cry prem ammo unfair. While driving a Type 5. While driving a Type 5  2 years ago firing no-aimed 1,400  damage HE burps.  No sympathy out of me. None.

Draschel:  Incorrect. You mentioned 280 pen. Your argument is invalid. If you meet foes head-on like you should and don't angle out, opening your shoulders as weakspots, 280 is near no threat unless massive high roll. If your cupola weakspots are struck, then its not an issue as even AP would penetrate. Whats the point of the argument.  You play as a green. This is no insult, it is what it is. But you have done so, for perhaps too long. You need to start looking at content at people performing better than green. For then, you can learn more as to improve, because you have clearly peaked. Every single day I tune into people like orzanel or Skill4ltu, and I see them put anything from mediums to heavy to tank destroyers, in superior position to lend them blocking damage, even to this very day 2021. You don't seem to realize, that position is what drives people to success. A great player in bad position still won't have any worthwhile outcome, even if they were firing 395 pen ammo out of a TD. You need position to make both your firepower and defense work. Perhaps I am blind, but I went to re-check, giving you the benefit of the doubt. I used AP not HEAT, to which gets some normalization bonus, the Type 5  140mm AP premium shell. The Front hull is still like 340+  Angle upon which shell strikes measured @53, giving the shell slight advantage over most situations, being slightly above coming down. There are a few reasons as to why this may have happened:-You were hit by a massive pen roll-or you were hit where you didn't think you were hit, AKA the brim just beneath the UFP-hit from long range by slower TD ammunition that arcs in a minor parabola, striking your armor downward (real rare)-or are lying. (real common) AMX54 is one of the tanks that needs armor rework. Same with AMX51, AMX49. Although they have weakspots like the cupolas, the LFP is too strong for most tier 8 AP shells. AKA 225mm pen isn't enough. The armor needs to be dropped to like the TD, AMX Fochs. Reasonable LFP are like Kran or 60TP, not ones that tier 8 need to fire gold at, like Badger or 705A Just because few people complain about HE prior to the changes, doesn't mean it wasn't extremely problematic. How do you not understand this? Dude, stop complaining, and get better. Its not an insult. Its for your piece of mind. Go watch Iyouxin block thousands and thousands in KV4 or VK100 01. They are easily found movies. No one wants to hear you here, cry. Just go seek out getting better. You will be surprised
