Minsk Dev Team “We’d like to explain a little about lags/freezes issues and what this server patch addresses. Prepare for a long story ;)   From the player perspective, lags/freezes may come from several sources: player’s ISP issues, internet routing issues, game server issues. Lately we’ve seen an increased number of lags/freezes reports and started to investigate in detail what may have caused them. You guys sent us a lot of pingplotter reports (thanks for this!) which in general depict there is fair amount of internet routing issues, especially for NA East players. There’s a good comment in this forum which is close enough to the actual reality: Short version, 2 bad routers on NA East route (5-20% packet loss each) and 1 bad router on NA West route (10-25% packet loss).  Two of em are bad enough to make it onto some "Router Watch" list from DSLReports.   What we do control is our game server, and we’ve been analyzing potential sources of lags/freezes on this side as well. We found out that we can improve some of our game clusters internal network related algorithms in order to minimize the probability of lags and delays caused by the game servers. We have created the patch with this improvement and tested in on our Common Test servers for a while in order to prove its efficiency and that it is safe to roll it out to our production clusters. That took us a while. Now this patch is out and according to your reports and our monitoring data the number of lags is much lower.   However, despite the fixes to address lag on game servers, some of you may still experience lags caused by ISP and internet routing issues. We will continue to review lag issues and work to improve your experience as much as possible.”

  this is 1 way to balance the matchmaker.

As Mad_Maxximus mentioned, there is currently a planned changed to how match making works in update 9.18; you can find the planned changes here. These changes are designed to match teams based on tier (e.g. a 3-level battle would have no more than 3 top tier tanks, 5 middle tier tanks and 7 bottom tier tanks) and vehicle composition (e.g. balances the distribution of lights, artillery and tank destroyers between the teams).   While I understand that these changes aren't quite what you are suggesting, I'm excited for them to be introduced in the next patch! The improved matchmaker reduces the number of map dupes with a new logic. It analyzes maps that tankers from the two newly created teams played over the last 10 battles. Then, it places them on a map none of them have seen in the last few sessions. This new map rotation logic is relevant for maps used in the Standard mode (Random Battles). Assault and Encounter Battles are only played across a limited number of maps. So, if you have them flagged, maps will repeat more often.

The_Chieftain:   The other problem with looking up the records of M10s in Soviet service (of which about 45 were used), is that the Soviets designated them "SU-76". Not "SU-76 (USA)" or "SU 76 (M10)" or anything. Just SU-76. It's driving Pasholok nuts.   Took the daughter to watch the Power Rangers movie last month. Bearing in mind what it was, it actually wasn't half bad.

The_Chieftain: Speaking of, I took the Tavor X95 out for its maiden engagement over the weekend. The BUIS came from the factory, by coincidence or design I'm not sure, absolutely accurate. I co-witnessed the red dot I purchased, and just no muss, no fuss, every round on target. Balance was good, weight acceptable, no issues with resetting shot, trigger reasonable. Worse thing about it is pulling it apart for cleaning, and even that wasn't bad. As long as you could figure out how to clean the piston tube which, oddly, is not referenced in the cleaning instructions on the manual, so even that I'm not too pushed about.

dance210:   No, it does not have to be a tier 10 tank. If you have a tier 2 tank that you love and would like to write a guide about, go for it! For our Destination Tank series, most of the tanks were between tiers 5 - 8 :)

The Final round will be the first to 2 wins out of a maximum of 5 battles." i have only once had this many changes to a tournament and that was over a year ago. at that time they changed tier points midway threw the tournament and changed start time 30 min before start. everyone got 100 gold for that screw up can we expect the same here. or can you guys at least fix you pages so that we actually have the correct information for the tournament. i have played this game for years and have spent way to much money on this game to not have a half way decent tournament page.

dance210:   Hello wiskywisky13,   I have bolded two parts of your post. In the first, it states that the first team to win one battle out of a maximum of two battles will be the winner. In the second, it states that the Final round will be first to 2 wins out of 5 battles. As you can see, the rules that I quoted to you are indeed on the tournament page and were there before the tournament started.   If the rules are still confusing, please let me know.

Quemapueblos: Hello Tankers, The Sandbox server is now live with Frontline! 30v30 battles with five-man-strong Platoons, all fighting in Tier X vehicles (medium/heavy tanks, TDs and arty) and Tier VIII light tanks. The latter is a temporary restriction caused by the technical nuances of testing. Eventually, the mode will switch to Tier X vehicles of all classes. And there’s no way on earth you could fit them all on a 1 km2 map. So, we’re introducing 9 km2 battlegrounds, divided into nine sectors, with one side playing in attack and the other in defense. Each stage unfolds on a certain territory. In attack, you are fighting for control over it. Yoott:   Stream will start 1pm Pacific on http://live.wgleague.net/ with matches starting between 1 and 130 pm Pacific
The end of the stream will be determined by how long each match takes.  The matches are Best of 13 so they can be over as fast as 7 battles or as long as 13 battles each.  

Yoott   Stream starts at 1pm Pacific First match is scheduled to start between 1 and 1:30 Pacific
after that it is all in how long the matches go as the second will start when the first is over
They are Bo13 so if they are 7 - 0 they will move faster, if they are 7-6 they will be longer

Estimated each match should be about 1 1/2 hours with some downtime to swap players on/off stage so second match approx 3:00 - 3:30 Pacific
Final match starting approx 5 - 530 Pacific but again they could be way earlier or if matches drag out to tiebreakers then it could run later
