will reference it. For a little while now there has been a
bit of a credit saturation/flood. It's been easier more than ever
for players to generate income. High tier tanks
especially were becoming credit farming machines and if you
were savvy, it was possible for premium tanks to earn even more
credits. At the time no one really complained about this
because well, it was a massive return for little effort and players
benefited from it. Everyone did kinda know/accept however it
was a bit broken and not how we really wanted the progression
system/credit generation system to work. The mission system was new
however and we wanted everyone to see how awesome this new feature
was. To give a perfect example of how crazy it could be,
in July last year It was possible to have up to 60% credit
increase on tier VIII to X tanks from a certain tree by combining
weekly/monthly events. 30% increased credits for Big & Heavy -
Fv4202 line (event lasted for 2 weeks) 30% increased credits for
being in the top 3 damage dealers. (This was either a monthly
mission or a weekly mission) 2/7/2013 - 105,788 credits earned
Tank used - FV4202 2/7/2013 - 104,614 credits earned Tank
used - FV4202 6/7/2013 - 125,793 credits earned Tank used -
FV4202 8/7/2013 - 91,499 credits earned Tank used -
FV4202 These matches are not made up. As you can
see these examples are clickable links to my own replays. Now I
consider myself a decent player but not great and these replays
were a snapshot of the kind of credits I was pulling in. An average
game rewarded me with about 70,000 to 80,000 credits. I was walked
away with about 50k profit after repairs etc. To cut a long
story short, for a little while now it's been too easy to make
extra credits on top of how the game was designed with regards to
advancement. High tier tanks especially are not intended to give
returns better or similar to premium tanks. High tier tanks
are also priced in such a way so that they take longer to get. As
there isn't much in the way of credit sinks in the game, the only
alternative option *for now* is to tone down the amount
of extra credits players can earn on top of normal game
play. This credit earning downturn is effect across all
regions. It's likely that credit missions for things like
being the top 3 damage will return, but we have to make sure it's
not possible to combine them with other missions and again we don't
want a scenario where the missions basically circumvent the
progression gates we have.

IronSpear, on 07 August 2014 - 04:05 PM, said: OK lets brake it down. 50% off tanks that are cheap
anyhow aka no one gives a ... about sub tier 5 Bad Ectar: You mean *you* don't care about. Saying "No one" and
meaning "Everyone" is just you trying to generalize all World
of Tanks players into a group to suit your needs and you have zero
evidence or numbers to back up the claims. I don't understand how
you can come to that conclusion. Those tanks are perhaps
cheap to players who have a lot of credits. They are not cheap
to players who don't have a lot of credits. Tier V is also well
known along with tier VI as being good tanks for earning credits,
hence whenever these tanks are discounted, there is a noticeable
surge/rise in purchases of them.
IronSpear, on 07 August 2014 - 04:05 PM, said: OK lets brake it down. 25% off emblems (you just had a 50%) never
buy this stuff for more BadEctar: So we should now never discount emblems or only discount
them by 50%? Can't have it like that all the time. Discounts
won't always be the same and with a limited amount of things we can
discount/offer as a bonus it's likely things may feature back to
back. If we spaced everything out equally it would be pretty easy
to know when specific things are up.
IronSpear, on 07 August 2014 - 04:05 PM, said: OK lets brake it down. kill 5 Jap tanks trololol BAD 2 small

an increased chance of seeing Japanese tanks due to their own
mission requirements. 2 small repair kits for free is better than
paying for them. Look at it this way folks. You just
had our 16th anniversary special last week with some significant
discounts and bonuses. (Double Experience for Every Victory, 15%
discount on all standard vehicles, tier VIII – X, 50% discount on
equipment) Next week is Gamescom which will have additional
major discounts/bonuses, and when there is a normal weekend
special in between, what are you honestly looking for here?
Something to rival those 2 major events? come on guys, think
about the big picture for a few moments here. Some of
you really need to manage your expectations during

on accounts where people put effort into being helpful and

see these people often on the forums. Low rep is due to posting
content that many people disagree with, either due to having a
different point of view on a hot topic, or setting out to upset and

this however and some people are either victims of clans/groups
ganging up to downvote someone, or someone getting friends/clan

Also someone can get hundreds of upvotes/downvotes due to a
single post depending on the mood of the community at the time or
the content. A funny/witty remark or image, a well written and
informative observation, a controversial or opposite stance from
the majority in a thread are some examples. We don't show
who upvotes/downvotes to prevent people PMing each other with
things like "why did you downvote me?" etc etc. It creates a
nasty vicious circle. This information is available to
WG staff so we can see if it is being abused and if needed, we can

streamers. It's only really ever used for things like the major ESL
tournaments/finals etc or special events/streams by
Wargaming. It's not a regular thing you're going to see every
day/week. This is done to raise awareness of the eSport side of the
game where our target audience is the World of Tanks players and an
in-game notification can reach over 150,000 players instantly.
It's quite common for players to have the stream active in
the background listening to what is happening as they play World of
Tanks or do other tasks.

[edited]can live withEctar: I tend to avoid topics discussing how to measure a players
skill level, and at 100 battles I can see your point. But when
players get to something like 6000 battles plus, the player who has
a 45% win ratio then will be noticeably different from a
player with 55% win ratio. The main difference between those
players is likely going to be a combination of the 2 biggest
things people take a while to learn: Map awareness (for
example knowing the common engagement areas and being aware of
the battle going on around them) Knowing the stats/performance of
the enemy tanks and your team's tanks. 2 also works with 1
as knowing your tank and the other tanks on the battlefield means
you know where to go on the map. It also means you know when to
break off and cover a side that's falling or to cover team mates
retreating etc. World of Tanks really is one of those games
that's easy to get into but pretty difficult to master as you need
to be thinking a few steps ahead of the battle so you can react in
time to things happening around you.
Subject: Twitch just killed WoT streams.
Link on message: #8719701
Link on message: #8719701
Ectar: It's a tad bit frustrating. It basically means you're still ok to
do livestreams with music in the background, but if you make
highlights or VOD's with the livestream material, it's likely to be
muted due to the music. If you still want to host World of Tanks
highlights and past broadcasts on Twitch without interruption, then
you'll need to make sure any background music from sources like
Youtube, Spotify, Groveshark, Itunes etc etc is muted and not
playing. Only the in game sounds and music would be ok directly
from the World of Tanks client. Twitch is also changing how
it's VOD's are stored since the majority of them never get any
plays past a certain date. Regular streamers who are not a partner
or Turbo will only see their VOD's last 14 days. For Partners
and Turbo users it's 60 days. Highlights will still be
around forever but they're limited to 2 hours in length. In a
way it's like Twitch is trying to move away from VOD storage on
their channels. It's a bit sad that many funny and entertaining
highlights will be muted as a result of this but meh, I can see
both sides of discussion. Something like this was always going to
happen. I guess It will possibly result in more streamers
setting up their own websites to host their past broadcasts etc.

Ectar: Why watch various different sports if you could be
out there playing them, or at the event in person to watch them?
"Because I can't play XXX due to XXX reason" is usually the
most common answer. Well then perhaps people can't play XXX
game at a certain level due to XXX reason so they're watching the
streams and videos for advice and tips? If it's like me I
usually have a stream up when working or when doing something else

against the rules as it was a way of exiting the battle without
paying a repair cost. This wasn't an intended gameplay mechanic as
much as people tried to argue it. It was an oversight in the new
physics system when it was introduced. Now that when a player
drowns their tanks they pay maximum repair bills, it's not
considered against the rules. Cheesy, lame, cowardly,
trollish, whatever else you want to call it, but against the

play well, especially knowing when to run, when to shoot and when
to hold your ground a spot. The spotting is key, a good scout
can always turn the tide of a battle. Heavys and TD's rely
heavily on someone else spotting for them so they can shoot without

can ignore them in-game. Much like the same way you can
ignore the people who spam clan invites at the start of matches.

Ectar: If you watched the reply from OP, now you can see why some
streamers block chat.... You expect Quickybaby to reply to
your messages when you can clearly see he's brawling in front of
you with 5 other tanks... When he doesn't reply you then spam chat
to both team in caps letters calling him a noob. You not only anger
your own team mates but the enemy team too. You came here looking
for attention and it appears you've got it. I can't think of any
situation where you seriously think your conduct is ok and that
people would think what you did was "amazing". You made
yourself look extremely childish there sir and I'm not surprised at
the reaction to this thread as it mirrors the reaction you got
in-game and the reaction of the comments section where the replay
is held. Top tip, if someone is streaming they're not going
to tell you that and they're not going to pause and have a
conversation with you. They are still normal players like everyone
else and are under no obligation to stop what they're doing just to
acknowledge your messages in-game. Yes it may be polite to just say
hello but when the guy is in the middle of a brawl it's kinda silly
to expect immediate attention. I'm going to close this
thread now as it's serving no purpose other than what appears to be
a downvote farm. - Ectar

tier or balanced against the class? You will never ever get away
from players putting tanks in a list and there will always be a top
tank and a bottom tank. The top tank will always have "OP" claims
and the bottom tank will always have "It needs buffed" claims.

work as what you'll end up with is the same generic tank for
all nations at each tier. You can't give a tank an advantage
over another whilst having a drawback because that would be unfair
right? "I would have beaten you if I had your gun depression"
etc would still persist otherwise. The majority of
matches the Panther would face off against is going to be other
tier VII tanks, any balancing you do for it purely to improve it's
performance against tier IX makes it too powerful against tier V
and vice versa if it's too powerful against tier V and you nerf it,
then it will perform terrible in the tier IX games. It's not as
easy as everyone like to think it is when it comes to balancing.

have massive effect. Bear in mind games that are quoted such as
Dota 2 and LoL won't just do a single pass on a character and then
never go back. You could argue that those games are balanced but
then if you play either you know that some champions are almost
never selected as they're viewed as inferior. As with any game that
has any type of class system, if you put stuff in a "rank/list"
you're always going to have characters/classes/vehicles at the top
and some at the bottom. People will naturally play the top
ones and avoid the bottom. It doesn't always mean that the bottom
one is useless or not fun, just that min/maxers will always have
their top picks. When everything is competitive with
everything at it's tier and everything is sorta equal, that's not
necessarily a good situation. No one wants to play a
character/class/vehicle that's just the same as 10 others and the
only difference being how it looks. We will never
for example balance a tank based on it sitting in the open trading
shots with another tank at 300 meters. Nor do we think "Ok
lets balance the Panther based on fighting a Tiger, ok now balance
it fighting an IS, ok now fighting a Comet, ok now a Jagpanther, ok
now a T29" etc etc. Armour thickness, armour angles, shell
penetration, shell damage, module location - there is a whole host
of variations that can affect the outcome of any fight.
Remember only we have the full statistics from the server and
we look at the big picture.

Ectar: Well I've explained already why the credit rewards are
lower. The NA credit boost for the top 3 tanks of the branch
is also only 15% and their portal has been updated
accordingly. I can't explain why NA is doing better specials,
only the NA team could tell you the reasoning behind
that. They have different goals for their region and offers
will be different as a result to that. I find it strange
everyone compares what happens in EU to what happens in NA, and RU
or SEA is never mentioned. - Even when we did match NA specials all
that happened is people turned their nose up at the specials and
said RU was better. It really is impossible to find a middle ground
(the same specials for all regions isn't going to happen).
It wouldn't matter if we did every discount and bonus possible, if
NA had 1 thing extra the usual people we see in these threads would
still post in the thread only to point out that NA is different and
the rubbish what's on offer. There comes a point when we
accept that no matter what we do, players will always
complain at discounts and bonuses as they look at things
purely on a personal point of view. Alternatively they're looking
at weekend specials just to see what's not there so they can
complain/highlight it. Whist in some situations it can seem
that people aren't getting enough, the flip side of that is it's
easy to pass over when people may be getting too
much. Remember the intentions of the bonuses and discounts is
that they're supposed to feel special. Sadly many of them are now
taken from granted and people realistically ask for things like 50%
discount on tier VIII-X or expect an equipment sale every 2nd
month because the other discounts we do are just things they always
expect to be there.

I don't see people do map guides showing the common hotspots or
where to go depending on the tank you're playing. Lots of people
don't know that heavies need to be in certain areas to be zone
denial or to brawl with the other heavies. Many medium
players don't know where to flank etc. I'd love to see a
youtube channel do a video series with map strategies. I'd expect
it to get lots of views.

Don't let them get to you. Everyone has bad games and the
people who just want to abuse team mates are not worth worrying

win and no, I don't expect them to kick someone for using premium
rounds. If I was a clan leader myself I wouldn't personally care
what equipment my players used. If you get shot by gold or not it
doesn't matter. You win some you lose some, premium ammo is
available for anyone that wants it and it's almost always
situational when you use it. I personally only have a few
shells for clutch moments when I need to pen and get the kill. -
Like if i'm the last tank on my team against the last enemy
tank. Using a full premium loadout isn't sustainable.
People have pointed this out multiple times, try it yourself and
see. Everyone doesn't run about shooting only premium ammo,
not unless they're throwing money at the game.

world would end. - As it stands it's still arguably the best tier 9
you can play even with it's known lower front plate issue. If your
tank has a known obvious weakspot, it's recommended to hide it to
stop people shooting it. Think yourself lucky you can do so, the
British TD's would love to swap their cupola's with you.
The advantage the Jagt 8.8 has is a quick firing gun which
allows you to get multiple shots off in a short period of time.
It's a tank designed to farm credits which it does exceedingly
well.
