Jolac, on 29 January 2015 - 12:07 PM, said: so...there is NO -15 % discount or? only 1,5 Crew exp!?Ectar: We've improved the "Top of the tree" specials to be a bit
more favourable now. There is a discount on the branch
featured, I'm sure you'll all find it's very nice and possibly not
what you expected. There is a generous crew boost for the featured
branch There won't be increased credits on the featured branch due
to all the credit currently being generated via personal missions.
For the exact specifics you'll just have to wait and see.
We've listened to a lot of feedback about this special and
feel that the new changes will benefits players at all levels.

a med with no armour needs to do. You shouldn't be yoloing onto the
front lines in something like a Waffle PZ IV or FV4005.
Regarding "corridor maps". Take for example Steppes,
a well known open map. When the fighting starts on this
map however the 2 most common hotspots tend to be at either side of
the map on the flanks tanks end up going to set locations and
facing off against each other. Malinovka is much the same
Every map is essential a "corridor map" as the fighting ends
up being locked across certain areas on the map that allow
progress to the enemy side. Certain approaches become
expected and teams then know how to set up against them. Even
with the best intentions almost every map ends up with fighting
down certain shooting lanes or fields or fire that are
protected on one or both sides to allow advancement without being
directly flanked. Abbey is essentially 4 routes where
teams face off against each other (each are pretty
much liner corridors) Lakeville is essentially a
valley of death, (corridor) a lakeside road of death
(corridor with 1 flank closed) and a town to brawl in.
Both those maps scored equally very low in the
what's your least favourite map? poll
Personally I love maps with variable progression options (Karkov
being a favorite with the gaps in building),

If you've included the screenshots with your ticket to CS
then they should be able to compensate you manually. I can't see
how many tickets are waiting to be answered atm but if you're in
the queue then please just be patient and they'll get to you asap.
For anyone reading this, it's important to note if you make
a ticket to keep it open till you get a reply. If you close
and reopen the ticket it takes you out the queue then puts you back
in at the end (As it counts as a fresh ticket).
Subject: Is the Light Tank the new Main Battle Tank
Link on message: #10014535
Link on message: #10014535
Ectar: I feel any tank class being "dominant" depends completely on the
map you're playing and the team compositions. In open/hilly
maps mediums or lights with good gun depression are more likely to
triumph where as in towns heavies and TD's that can use their
armour will come out on top. In-game there is no real "One
tank fits all" situation, light tanks have advantages with speed
but their guns still will never has as much alpha as a heavy
and they will still never be able to take shots like a
heavy. When you try to break it down into one on one there is
too many variables and set circumstances that you then have to add
in to make it favourable for one or the other.

no. " If for example "porn" as a naming option (and just the 4
letters alone) all that would happen is players would type
something like"pórn" "pörn" "pørn" and all variations
possible. When someone sets out to create a name like that, they're
not doing it by accident and are usually pretty persistent. Once
you start banning all possible variations you then start to ban
random words from other countries where we have large
playerbases. It's a simple solution if all your forum
users/players only use one language and come from one country. It's
a minefield when it's different languages. As I said in a
previous thread "rape" in English is totally different to "râpé" in
French as a perfect example.

"lazy no life tramp with huge inexplicable void on his resume".Ectar: The people who stream or do YouTube full time are not the
kind of people who apply for a 9-5 desk job in something like Life
and Pensions where they're looking for previous
office/financial experience. ANY job you apply for
is going to be difficult if you don't have previous experience or
skills you can relate to the position. Streamers and
YouTubers frequently go on to do developer jobs, casting jobs,
hosting/presenting jobs, producing jobs, community jobs, level
design jobs, project management jobs, even CEO's of their own start
ups... the related list of jobs is massive in the gaming industry.
-They go with jobs relevant to their interests and experiences.
Heck I got a part time job working in a video game store just
because I played World of Warcraft and the Manager who always
played wanted to talk about the game with someone during work.
There is always going to be jobs that you can't get based on what
you do now. An employer that reads "professional gaming" as a blank
void would clearly be a stuffy uptight and boring company you
don't want to work for in the first place. At the end
of the day applying for any job in the world is all about selling
yourself. Your past experiences, your current skills, your
motivation, your work rate and how you're the best person for that
job. That is the one constant thing you always have to remember and
it's up to you to make what you've been doing the past
week/month/year relevant to the job you're applying for.

WG-staffEctar: It's not inconsistent. It works based on player reports
and if players are not reporting names, staff members are not
actively searching them out. Our support system in that
respect works like any other game with hundreds of thousands
of players playing on a daily basis. Tasking an employee or
group of employees with searching the database of names to find
offensive ones is something that is a massive time sink and pretty
much a never ending task. (I'm pretty sure you can find a load
of offensive names in any major mmo who also haven't been
actioned). To give you some idea of the scale of this task,
the EU office has roughly 150 to 200 staff. We have about 200,000
players playing daily and our database of players is over 3
million. I can assure you if there was a quicker way to
remove bad names from the game we and all the other MMO games (and
even things like Playstation Network & Xbox Live) would already
have it in place.

Subject: Corrupted EU Contests
Link on message: #9984246
Link on message: #9984246
Ectar: Topic like this won't change what happened, people have different
opinions and different tastes. As I told you in the News
Announcement thread over 30 people judged the contest and we
had to select 100 winners from over 700 entries. The difference
between most of the positions was tiny, but in the end the
list of 100 had to be ranked somehow. We're not going to share how
the community team voted and we're not going to justify each
winner. Pretty much all of the community staff voted
differently for who they liked and when we got it down to 100
pretty much everyone voted differently again. NOT EVERYONE SHARES
THE SAME VIEW AS YOU. Again as said before the judges don't
consider how much time you claim to have put into the image as that
has zero impact. We also don't ask if you're an upcoming graphic
designer or a teenager who likes crayons. We are not
professional artists, art students or art critics. This
happens on every single contest where it comes down to the opinion
of the judges and this is exactly why contests like this rarely
happen and things like screenshot contests no longer happen. You
are now going from complaining about not winning to insulting
other forum users and other contest entrants. - This stops now.

Quickybaby has been streaming for over 2 years now, when he started
out he was averaging around 200-300 viewers and I can remember
specifically playing with him for 12 hours at the time British
tanks were released and the peak then was 550 viewers. He was the
first World of Tanks streamer to get a partnership and now loads
more World of Tanks streamers also have partnerships. They guy puts
the time into what he does and makes it work. Circonflexes
now regularly breaks over 1000 viewers, SirFoch is getting close to
1000 when he streams during the day, Orzanel &
RitaGamer, are getting steady numbers which are growing too.
There is more people streaming the game than ever before and
English speaking streamers have overtaken Russian speaking players
in popularity now. The key to building an audience is to
stream regularly and for viewers to have a reason to stick around.
It's not as easy as some players think it is, and when people do it
full time they can put a lot more effort into presenting and
sticking true to their casting times.

get 15 year old kids from every EU nation playing the game.
I know some players are really against the platoon
requirements, however making a platoon doesn't mean you sit in a
queue for random people. You can make a request on the forums or
any fansite you may use with specific requirements in what you're
looking for. You don't even have to talk to your platoon mates
with a headset (it helps though). So long as each of you know what
you're doing, you can just team up, get through the mission
and then never talk again. None of my childhood RL friends
play World of Tanks, but I have made lots of friends through the
game (and other games). I play games generally on my own too,
but unless I'm playing a single player game, it's always more fun
and more tactical when playing with others. Not everyone should be
dumped into some kinda unjustified stereotype and I'm sure you can
find many other players with the same interests, points of view and
outlook as yourself to play with.

Ectar: Knowing to hit the track idler and main drive sprocket is normally
key to winning most duels, especially if you know your opponent has
already been forced to use a repair kit. It's also an area that is
important to aim for if you're a lower tier who may not be able to
do much damage. Track the enemy and then let your higher tier team
mates unload. It's still important to know about weakspots
because not everyone uses gold ammo, and there is no need for gold
ammo when you know where to shoot. This can turn winning credit
losses into winning credit gains which should be everyone's main
objective in-game. (Playing to win but losing credits each time
isn't sustainable unless you're constantly spending money).

expected much more from wargamingEctar: You're still making the point as if one person judged the
contest from a short list. We had 30 judges with over 700
entries. People that didn't make it likely didn't make it by
a very very small margin. Sadly we can only award so many winners
and like I said each of the judges had different opinions.
Bringing up another player's entry and trying to say your entry is
better is the wrong attitude to have and we're not going to justify
each winner (as like I said it's the result of group votes) as that
won't change the results.

Explain yourself to me !Ectar: The 3 of you need to chill out and stop for a moment.
Seriously why kind of language is that to use and expect a
different result? Increasing your font size or posting in
bold won't yield different results either. You're coming across as
massively sore losers and it's a nasty attitude to have (aswell as
being extremely disrespectful to the other entrants). There
is a reason words are filtered on the forums and editing them out
as if that somehow makes it ok to say, isn't ok. Contests
like this are judged by all of the community team which is roughly
30 people. If you think that you could make a winners list of
100 players from over 700 entries and not have anyone object to the
rankings, then more power to you. It's pretty much impossible to
have a list of winners that everyone will agree on and judging
contests like this comes down to personal opinions.

Ectar: Greetings players! Thank for you taking part in the testing
for update 9.6 we apologize if you're experiencing
problems. To allow easier navigation and orientation of this
section, please be aware of the following rules: Avoid
Off-Topic posts and threads. Check if the bug is already
reported. If it is, add your report to the existing thread. For
bugs regarding graphics or game crashes, add a listing
of dxdiag file in spoiler. For map
bugs such as visual issues with the environment, or a location
where your vehicle is unexpectedly stuck, add a screen
shot of the location so it's easily identifiable. Try to provide as
much information as possible about what you were doing
in-game when the bug appeared. Regards

elements of the player base will be disappointed. I fail to
see how 3 female crew members in full buttoned up overalls with
hats on can be viewed as sexist or somehow disrespectful.
Lets look at some of the images with male crew members:
Not a single toolkit in sight...
The image of the female crew was drawn specifically to avoid
any sexist remarks about how the crew was dressed or posed.
It's a female crew waiting for orders. That's it. I
mean seriously, it's disrespectful because they're not
working on the tank? The whole point of the image is that
they're waiting for orders.... I'm closing this thread now
as it's already a prime target for trolling and stupid remarks.
This forum still amazes me sometimes at the angles people look for
to cause aggro. -Ectar

There is multiple other players in your situation and the
only way to make friends is either start platoons or join someone
else's. I know it can seem scary at first but there is plenty
of people I know who are now good friends that started with us
randomly playing some online game together.
