problem that a player with an offensive nickname,
Porncannon as an example, are told to change it. The problem
is that the 2000 other players with names like Pornmaster,
Porntank, Pornbabe, Pornmagazin, Pornografy,
Porn------> are still driving around. Inconsistency
like that, are what makes people disregard rules and laugh at

Ectar: It's not inconsistent. It works based on player reports
and if players are not reporting names, staff members are not
actively searching them out. Our support system in that
respect works like any other game with hundreds of thousands
of players playing on a daily basis. Tasking an employee or
group of employees with searching the database of names to find
offensive ones is something that is a massive time sink and pretty
much a never ending task. (I'm pretty sure you can find a load
of offensive names in any major mmo who also haven't been
actioned). To give you some idea of the scale of this task,
the EU office has roughly 150 to 200 staff. We have about 200,000
players playing daily and our database of players is over 3
million. I can assure you if there was a quicker way to
remove bad names from the game we and all the other MMO games (and
even things like Playstation Network & Xbox Live) would already
have it in place.
