Ectar: Bumping this topic to regain it's visibility as I feel it's a useful thread, especially with the new missions

Ectar: WG staff are still actively testing it. For now one of the biggest issues I feel needs to be locked down would be chat moderation.  Imagine an influx of RU players to other servers where there is normally no RU chat mods,  or the RU chat mods trying to tell Spanish/Serbian/Hungarian/Finnish players to speak Russian. You then also have to remember that the databases are separate for each region so in-game reporting could be problematic too.  These are things that need to be fixed first before rolling it out and finding out it's wide open to abuse.   One thing that for sure won't work is server hoping to try and take advantages of different region bonuses/discounts. There is no plans for that ever to happen. Your account can only benefit from the discounts/bonuses in the region it was created in.  The last time I was playing on NA or RU, emblems and insignia's didn't transfer and missions couldn't be completed when not on your home server.  - As I said it's still in testing just now and whilst it's still being looked at, it's not something considered high priority.  I think if it was to roll out for further testing it's likely it would be to eSport pro players and possibly Contributors

Ectar:   I'll see if it's possible to update the wording regarding how premium tanks work with crews.   Females members cannot learn the Brothers in Arms skill.

Ectar:   No, you could have won that battle and used another result as your contest entry.... We're not asking everyone to go out and lose all their ELC AMX games trying to get 5 kills. It doesn't make sense to be annoyed you can't enter a contest when you're not meeting the requirements.  I mean if the contest was "Get the highest exp score possible in the Sherman III", you're hardly going to post up a result in the Sherman Firefly are you? You clearly are skilled with the ELC AMX and I'm sure you've had other results similar so if you'd posted one of those results you could have had some easy gold. It was there for the taking dude.

Ectar:   The problem with that, (as proven in the past when running this contest) is that the higher the tier used, the less amount of players who feel they can participate. This is only week one however and the contest wasn't pushed on Twitter or Facebook (Facbook promoting contests gets hundreds of views as soon as the article is up).  Next week I'll go for a tier 6     Contest is now closed and prizes will be sent out once entries are verified.   *edit* As there was only 2 entries, the 3rd place prize has been split between the winners 50/50.   Congratulations to bakouri2002 and luciffer who are getting 1250 gold and 1000 gold.

Ectar:   As an example, say we block the word "rape" for obvious reasons.  Players still want to use that term because they're ignorant so they look for ways to mis-spell it "rápe for example or "râpé".  So we filter those words too.  Next minute 2 French players are discussing what they had for dinner and they can't understand why grated cheese is filted.  That's right "râpé" in French means "grated".     There is lots of other swear words like that from different countries which mean nothing else in another language, and there is also lots of inappropriate words that can have totally innocent meanings depending on how their used. "Cock" for example can mean male genitalia or a male hen.  For words like that a blanket ban isn't always the smartest idea as you need to know the context.   When it comes to garage chat or in-game chat. If anyone watches me stream you'll notice that inappropriate (or potentially inappropriate) words are actually highlighted to WG staff with mod rights in chat. Putting blanket word filters and word bans in games actually causes more harm that good.  We do however have the swear filter turned on by default for all players which should remove the majority of inappropriate content from the game.

Ectar:   No, if the OP was a male the first post from another forum user would never be "Needs cam with your balls and penis or I'm out.". That's just straight up weird right, I mean why would you say that to another random male? Yet because the first reply was "Needs cam with tits or I'm out." every was like "Teeheehee, she's a girl, lets make girl jokes and show how mature we are".   You can give feedback to any player without having to mention the fact they're male or female, what the hell does someone's sexuality have to do with their ability to play the game?  Give feedback objectively without having to resort to separating the person based on something like that. There is a reason why girl gamers are not as common or as well known as male gamers and crap like what was in this thread before I cleared it up is a perfect example.

Ectar: This is effectively naming and shaming. All you're doing is venting against other players who are very unlikely to say anything in defence and all anyone else can say is "It happens". Everyone has good games and bad games. This doesn't help players and makes you look elitist, it's not cool which is why topics like this get locked.   - Ectar

Ectar:   We have a filter on the forums and players will repeatedly mistype words to get around that.  There is no flawless word filter when you're dealing with over 30 different languages.   If a player says something inappropriate in-game, please use the in-game report feature.  If a player is being extremely abusive (to the degree of racist, nationalist, hate related content taking about illegal activities such as Pedophilia etc), then please screenshot this and send it to our support team. (And also still use the in-game report system).   

Ectar:   Don't worry, a forum boss will be along soon to auto crit you for full damage with no saving throws or re-rolls allowed.   Some of you guys really need to grow up. The way you're acting towards another forum member just because they're female is quite frankly disgusting and childish.  I've deleted every off topic and sexist remark from this thread. Ectar: Different tanks have different locations for Emblems and Inscriptions.  If it was a flag on the front of the E25 then that would be a clan symbol as the Emblems for this vehicle are on either side of the tank. 

Ectar: This policy is worth a bookmark as the "Are we going to get compensated?" question comes up a few times with regards to any issues during Clan Wars.  We wanted to be as clear as possible with regards to this so players have something they can refer to.  As always any time there is an issue it needs to be investigated first to see the cause and also how many players are affected, we can never just say 5 mins into an issue "Yes, everyone will be compensated".  Hopefully going forward we won't need to refer to this article.

To submit your High Five! entry, please reply to this thread with your replay link showing your match results.

To record your matches, via your in-game client select "Menu" and then "Settings". Under the "Game" tab please make sure that Enable Battle Recording is selected. Click "Ok" and then "Back to Game". The game will now save all of your replays in a special folder called "replays" in the same place where you installed World of Tanks.
To add the replay to the forums, you then need to use a special site that hosts World of Tanks replays such as: http://wotreplays.com/ this site will then give you a link you can put on the forums which anyone can download to watch.

The screen shots are required for the following reasons:
  Personal Score: - To verify that you did the achievement within the contest announcement and deadline. Entries from yesterday, days/weeks/months ago will not count. Team Score: - To show your exp before and modifiers like bonus events or premium. Please note any issues where the player name is not clearly visible or important information is hidden by a popup or cursor, will not be valid. Detailed Report: In the event of a tie breaker, damage done will be the deciding factor.

The goal is simple get 5 kills in a specific tank and get the highest exp possible in a single match! To win the contest you need to have replays enabled on your game client and follow the instructions below:

Competition rules: 1 entry per player -Please note that players are allowed to edit and update your entry if you get a better score. Bonus exp for premium account, first win of the day, or for a battle hero medal does not count and will not be included. Your tank needs to get 5 kills exactly in a single battle! Getting more than 5 kills will not count. The challenge here is to do as much damage as possible but only destroying or getting the killing blow on 5 tanks. Closing date for entries is announced in each new contest thread (normally players have 2 days) Entries that do not have a replay will not count In the event of tied exp, damage done will be used to decide a winner. To submit your entry, please use the separate thread which will be titled "High Five, week **" and will then have the tank name. 

1st place - 1000 gold
2nd place - 750 gold
3rd place -  500 gold

Ectar: Everyone who replies to this thread questioning their forum warning points and doesn't read or follow the instructions on the first post, will never get their forum warning points overturned until they do so.

Ectar:     Nope, long ago we used to do a thing called "Hunt us Down" but we used special accounts for that.  The main reason being to avoid any confusion when playing normally on our accounts (otherwise enemy players would always rush to kill us and it would kinda make our accounts unplayable after a while).  The accounts had special coloured camo and there was a special indicator on the team list. We'd also make an announcement at the start of the match to let players know.

Ectar: All I can say for now is that we'll make sure future content on our portal and the content on the video's will carry the same message to avoid any confusion.  There was always the possibility of the Fury Tank being made available at a later date. Any messages about restricted availability should have made it clear that the tank would only be available for a limited time before it was unavailable for an unspecific period. Not that the tank would be available at that time for the only time.

Ectar: You were banned the first time because you team killed.   You were banned the second time because you reached the limit of reports in a certain category which triggered an auto ban. The slate wasn't wiped clean when you were banned the first time so it could have taken only 1 report to push you over the limit.  I can say that to prevent abuse this isn't something that can easily happen in one or 2 matches, basically your past behaviour has caught up with you.  To claim a random player in the other team is a WG employee and did it out of spite is quite frankly amazing . You have utterly zero evidence and all you're doing is causing aggro for a random player because it's far more easier than accepting you perhaps need to change your behaviour.   If we banned players who were "too good" that would make utterly no sense. I'm sorry to burst your bubble but there is other players out there who are better than you or more well known.  We have no agenda's against any players, your account is the same as everyone else and the same rules apply to you as apply to every other player. There was no special circumstance surrounding your suspensions and I can assure you if there was any proven evidence relating to shenanigans from a WG employee I'd be making sure that person would be out a job. I take claims like this on our forums very seriously and I don't think players quite grasp the severity of claiming an employee has manipulated there account, especially when they have zero evidence to back up that claim.

Ectar: T32 is a very capable tank I found. Avoiding it only because you're scared of facing tier 10 makes as much sense of avoiding the T29 because you don't want to face tier 9. Tier 8 is the first tier were players have to but a bit of effort in and learn the vehicles as you'll be with them for a while.  In saying that there is some tanks that just don't suit people, I couldn't get to grips with the Caernarvon for example and free exp passed it after a short while.

Ectar: Closing topic. It's nothing to do with the skin colour of the crew member and joking about stuff like this is pretty low. Homer_J has given what seems to be a pretty accurate reason for the issue. It's something you've done wrong with the training or the crew at some point either moving tanks or retraining.   @guest273, you're going to be having a forum vacation for that comment.   - Ectar

Ectar:   It's possible the account has been compromised and when you're not aware, someone is logging into it and spamming messages over and over.  If you PM me the account name I can get this checked out.

Ectar:   Reporting a player in-game does a whole lot more than creating a forum topic that they'll potentially never read.   Option 1 results in the player potentially being suspended, option 2 results in nothing but a locked topic.   - Ectar

Ectar:   I'm going to close this topic for multiple reasons. 1 - It boils down to nothing more than a rant about why you're losing matches. 2 - You're making some pretty serious claims about our company and our game with zero evidence (it's pretty much slander and I don't think you quite appreciate the weight of your claims). 3 - Your message has very strong nationalist undertones which is not something we accept on our forums under any circumstances. 4 - It's basically just another crazy conspiracy theory where you're just trying to rile up other forum users.   I get that players can get frustrated with the game but to make up a load of false claims like this with zero evidence is becoming a bit old now.  If you don't like the game for whatever reason you're free to walk away, not play it and never visit our forums again.  If you carry on posting stuff like this, don't be surprised when this account loses it's forum access like your previous account did. Consider this your first and only warning on that matter.   /thread closed.   - Ectar    

Ectar: Hi guys,   Just to let you know if you've completed the mission objectives and for any reason you don't see the WZ-111 in your garage, please check the following.   1) Make sure your don't have any garage filters set 2) Play a single battle after completing the last mission objective (this will refresh your garage).   If you still don't see the tank in your garage and you're sure you've completed all of the objectives, please send a ticket to our support team who can investigate this for you.

Ectar:   Find me an example of the Panzer IIJ being freely sold in the RU region premium shop or in-game shop and I can answer you that.  It's only been sold in the RU region as part of a special edition retail package. There is no short to medium terms plans for that tank to ever be sold in-game or via the premium store. Long terms plans I can't really say because things can easily change over the course of a year.

Ectar: Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that as the tank wasn't on the test server, we're watching threads like this and passing on player feedback.   Thanks for all your thoughts so far.

Ectar:   It's not always about the guns on tanks and although a premium tank may see tanks 2 tiers above it. We're not expecting you to fight those tanks head to head.  It's always unfair when you're bottom tier but it's never unfair when you're top tier right?  If you're bottom tier then the enemy team also has tanks your tier.  If the enemy is focusing you first then they're only making it hard for themselves not dealing with the bigger threats.  It's common sense no matter what tank you're playing that you don't try to trade shots with any tank 2 tiers above you. That will always end up with the same outcome, the tank with the better armour/gun combination will win.   It's not specific to the tank you're playing as that will happen in any 2 tier split.   Don't rush the front lines, support and look for flanking opportunities. Pick your shots and don't try to play every match like you're a top tier heavy with the best armour in your team.   I'm sorry but everytime I see players complain about limited MM it's only because they don't like facing tanks 2 tiers higher, It's never mentioned that they feel it's unfair they face tanks 2 tiers lower also.  Getting into a tier X match with a tier VIII match is not the most common outcome, it's just the ones players remember because they're actively looking for it and it's not what they want.   TLDR:  Stop expecting your premium tank to always come with special matchmaking and expecting it to be the best tank in the battle all the time.  That's never been our intention to sell vehicles that are the best in their bracket otherwise every player would feel forced to buy them.  Sometimes you're the big fish and sometimes you're the little fish. All you can do is try your best with what you've got and learn how to make the most of it.

Ectar:   Lol dude I'm totally fine. I just don't want players to feel we've somehow done them out of something that was never promised (which reading through the forums today seems that way from some players). It's true that on certain subjects we change our plans but then this is why players should always take "leaks" or statements from our devs with a pinch of salt and not as "100% this is what's going to happen." Our developers can change their mind from week to week regarding upcoming features and nothing is set in stone until a patch is signed off for release after a testing phase. This is why it's super important to never make comments about something unless we're 100% sure it's going to happen, otherwise players expect something that is actually not confirmed which caused problems later down the line if things change. There is a reason why I don't comment on certain things on the forums and it's not because I don't know. It's because I'm not willing to set expectation for the community regarding something that has a high potential to change and all the disclaimers and "this is not confirmed" in the world doesn't change player perception on that issue, no matter how open/non confirming you make the statement.
