of forbidden words or parts of words,. e.g. "porn", which every
3rd-rate 20 user forum has and could just keep these names from
being chosen in the first place? Or actively scan the user-database
for already existing ones ? Somehow that beggars believe.Ectar: We don't have a database of only bad words in English
no. " If for example "porn" as a naming option (and just the 4
letters alone) all that would happen is players would type
something like"pórn" "pörn" "pørn" and all variations
possible. When someone sets out to create a name like that, they're
not doing it by accident and are usually pretty persistent. Once
you start banning all possible variations you then start to ban
random words from other countries where we have large
playerbases. It's a simple solution if all your forum
users/players only use one language and come from one country. It's
a minefield when it's different languages. As I said in a
previous thread "rape" in English is totally different to "râpé" in
French as a perfect example.
