Lert:   And yet, nobody ever posts a replay with that happening the way they describe it. 200 meters, in the open, an E100 disappearing. I'd love to see that some time, because in 45k games between beta and live I never have.

View PostKickballz410, on Dec 23 2014 - 13:54, said: I tried looking up for answers but it seems like this hasn't been covered yet. The question is how many campaign special camos do you have? What is the max tanks that can have this special camo? So far I was able to put it on all 3 campain tier 10 tanks: vk 7201, m60, and 907.    I think it is seven because when I received the 907 and the special camo, the camo messages appeared 7 times.    And another question is, once you put it on the tank, is it permanent? Can you transfer this special camo around other tanks? If you want to change the special camo to regular, will it get destroyed?    How does it all work yo?

HBFT:   There are seven camouflage patterns, one for each nation.  Each camouflage pattern is applicable to a single vehicle from each nation.  So, in theory, you can have 7 tanks total (one from each nation) with the special camouflage on it.   With regards to the behavior of the camouflage pattern, I believe this question was answered over here

Lert: This is not a simulator. This is an arcade game. Clunky as the spotting system is, it's fair - people with slow computers aren't handicapped and people with amazing setups don't get a huge advantage; there is no wallhacking, it's fair.   You can't handle the spotting system? Go play something else.

Lert: KV-2 is nothing like other tanks. It's all about that gun. It's all about peeking out, derping something in the face and having a place you can duck in to to reload - preferably while the tank you just pissed off is being distracted by your team. It's all about knowing when and where to shoot. You can't approach KV-2 like any other tank.   This is one of the several ace badges I've collected in it. I've since collected two MoE's in it. You might get a sense of the playstyle from that.

There is absolutely no way, none, whatsover, to prove, for example, that I didn't vote in my dad's place because I knew he was out of town on a business trip, unless I raise my hand and say "I did it." That's rather the point of the law and how Mr Levitt deals with this problem in his analysis is not stated.

The_Chieftain:   Sortof. It was more important to them that they used an ammunition type which was in service elsewhere in the entire British Army. With the exception of a few 76mm Shermans they accepted pretty much out of desperation and sent to Italy, nothing else in the British Army used that round. Putting a British hole-puncher into the tank made more sense than accepting the American one.

View Postledhed14, on Dec 22 2014 - 21:08, said: It was UK answer to Panther and Tiger . One allotment to each Tank platoon , its dedicated Tank Destroyer . Unlike US with dedicated TD battalions this made much more sense and worked very well . Because of this many US tankers died as the US military UNLIKE with the air force , didn't copy the effort despite its potential because "they"  didn't think of it therefor it couldnt be very good.. ..Army with its stupidity on tanks such as not rushing Pershings into service ( NOT PATTON' S DECISION ) And the US Navy insisting their torpedo worked , thus killing many members of the Navy and Air service .  Same with decision not to use 20 mm cannon and many many more .  Canadians did very well with this Hybrid of a Sherman with an actual Gun that would work in the field against realistic tanks . Many were up-armored with applique up to limits of the suspension .   I would love to read a book written by British on these tanks , google is not very helpful.

The_Chieftain:

View Postagamemnon_b5, on Dec 23 2014 - 13:06, said:   1) not true.  There was experienced gain by the fighting in North Africa, Sicily and Italy.  The Sherman was barely adequate against the Panzer IV and inadequate against the Panther and Tiger.  The General I command of the Armor Branch (for procurement and tactics and what not) refused a large scale change in tactics and equipment (not to mention completely ignoring British experience even though they had been fighting the Germans much longer).   2) Also not true.  The Wolverine and Hellcat were well in service by D-Day, so the logistical chain for 76mm ammunition was already there.  APCBC ammo wasn't the problem, it was the shortage of HVAP ammo with tungsten cores that was the issue.   4) Ports had nothing to do with the Pershing (hell, the British were offloading Churchills on the beachhead).  The thing just wasn't ready yet since it had a low priority.   5) that has nothing to do with the fact that a tank with a 90mm gun anti-tank gun, fR better than the majority Sherman's with 75mm howitzers, was not given priority until Eisenhower had to step in.   6) And yet the Americans were able to introduce the M36 in that timespan.  You "Logistically unsupportable" argument makes no sense.

The_Chieftain:   Before I respond to these two posts, might I inquire as to if you have read the one, two, three Pershing articles assessing its development timeline, and the one quoting Devers'  (The General I command of the Armor Branch (for procurement and tactics and what not)  approval of the 76mm in 1942?

HBFT:   The Clan Camouflage pattern works like a regular camouflage pattern. If you apply it to a vehicle and buy another camouflage pattern, then you can swap back and forth between camouflage patterns.  If you sell the vehicle and buy it back again, then the camouflage pattern is still associated with that tank.  You should be able to select it again on that tank as well.

The_Chieftain:   I suspect much comes from your background. For over ten years, WG primarily focused on military wargames. In such games, damage which causes critical hits but no overall loss of integrity are not uncommon. For example, if you play Harpoon4 (a very hardcore naval wargame), you will be familiar with the fact that you can do over a dozen critical hits with one shot without doing a single hit point of damage.   If you come from an online background, such as WoW, LoL or a number of FPSs, this will be rather unfamiliar to you. That doesn't make the critical hit system wrong, just a different way of doing things.
