Lert:   Especially in IOC, it's kinda become a bit of a 'thing' in strongholds. Sometimes I feel safer while the enemy team still has tanks alive than right after their last one gets killed and I can count on incoming fire from behind instead of just from the front. It's great fun.   I can understand why WG would make the TK auto system also work in stronkholds, but I wish they wouldn't. These are battles with clanmates as teammates, annoying and suckerpunching clanmates is one of the most fun aspects of the game.

The_Chieftain: Close. "Don't talk to your community."   Yes, it was recorded, but they video sessions are for internal use only and are not to be released to the public.

The_Chieftain:   Getting into argument sessions with the moderators on the forum is not a productive spend of their time and contributes little positive to the forum. Besides, the moderators and the customer support lads are different people, you're more likely to get a second opinion by following the established support process. The image in question may have escaped notice for months, but it doesn't make bootstrap it to acceptability.

Lert: In the process of drowning =/= after they've already drowned, which the guy above me specifically stated. After a tank is dead, shooting it is not going to give you any XP or credits. It's going to directly cost you credits (ammunition) and indirectly cost you XP (when you're busy shooting a dead tank you're not shooting living ones).

Lert: Play a tank to an acceptable level enough and you'll get at least one MoE. Honestly, it's really not that difficult to be better than 65% of the playerbase. It's two or three that show some skill, and even then, how much you play that tank also factors in. The best player in the world isn't going to have an MoE if he only played that tank 20 times.

Lert:   1) They already get a full repair bill. 2) Just how petty and childish are you that you're going to sit there and spend both time and credits just to annoy someone who has already left the battle anways?

Lert:   Whenever a gun is fired, there are between one and like a maximum of 7 instances of RNG happening:   1) Where the shot actually goes in the aiming circle based on gaussian distribution (IE, more likely to go near the center than near the edge) 2) Upon hitting a target, passing the overmatch and ricochet tests as well as any normalization is applied, there is +/- 25% RNG on the advertized penetration value to check if it actually goes through the armor. 3) If it hits spaced armor, that same calculation is made again, with reduced penetration based on the plate it already went through 4) It the shell makes it into the main volume of the tank (instead of getting stopped on external modules or the armor) there is a +/- 25% RNG on the advertized damage value that gets applied to the target tank. 4a) Upon a HE / HESH shell not penetrating there is a whole slew of calculations to apply splash damage to the vehicle 5) If a shell hits a module (internal or external) another +/- 25% damage roll is made and applied to the module 6) That damaged module then gets a saving throw, which might just ignore the damage altogether. 7) Repeat for any other module hit. HE / HESH are especially good for damaging mutliple modules   And that's just a single shot fired.   Yes, RNG operates on the small scale as OP describes. Yes, ideally RNG should average out over a larger sample size. However, there are always tendencies and streaks, and when someone says "RNG screwed me over this match" he just had a mostly negative streak of RNG. After all - in that whole list of small scale RNG I outlined above, if only one of them doesn't roll well enough, your shot doesn't do the damage you want it to.

The_Chieftain: With competing depression angles available on paper, I decided to settle the matter by climbing into a 17pr M10 and depressing the thing as far as I could. (It was the one at MVTF), it stopped at about 5 degrees. That's what got implemented. The British Army would not have put a stop in for the fun of it, the best thing I can think of would be an estimation that the turret and mount simply wasn't expected to be able to handle the upward component of recoil from the larger round.

The_Chieftain:   No, I'm still not convinced. By the size of that magazine, that's a battle rifle firing 'full-sized' (for the time) rounds.. M16 and AK-47s are assault rifles, firing lower-powered rounds. The barrel is very thin compared to the M16, and I think it's far too short for a battle rifle's barrel. You want a couple more inches. Even the super-short paratrooper's FAL the Belgians used had a 436mm barrel, when the paratroopers complained that the carbine-length 458mm was too long for jumping out of airplanes with.

The_Chieftain: Something about that rifle seems wrongly proportioned. Maybe too short somewhere? I know, it's designed for short people, but still...
