Why not have the specials include a variation on everything so everybody has something to go for. This leave it till the last minute to anounce the special and then to have nothing to aim for after it does come out is getting really old and boring now.

Nope, the research cost is something we are never lowering due to many reasons. One of them is shortening players life in-game, thus decreasing online in long perspective. And for the MM - higher number of players online is better.

FemmeFatale2, on Jul 27 2012 - 20:16, said: How about extending it to heavy too?Vallter: This special is designed to prepare people to new vehicles. And
also to give them chance to get back to the appropriate Tech
Branches easily, if for some reason they stopped playing them, or
grind. So, unfortunately, HT discount is not included in the
concept of this special. Though we can make such special in future
(though chances are low)

My "non wargaming" opinion, based on a huge gaming presence since the Internet was released, (1997 Ultima Online)
And being from and currently based in Oceania (Australia).
I am more than happy to play on NA servers, Its been done for the last 15 years, and I see no need to change that personally.
Especially with WOT not being a twitch based FPS.
Personally I'd prefer to continue to play with my large NA friends base, and continue to play on a server that is primarily English and a similar culture to what AUS is.
I do appreciate that some AUS/Oceania gamers would move to anywhere that presented a better ping. But I definitely am not one of that group.
To me there is many other factors apart from the ping. For example I'd personally prefer to play on a NA server with 300 ping, than on a SE/Asian server with 150 ping.
Id also "guess" that the majority of AUS/NZ players would also prefer to play on a NA server.

Tanitha: Don't forget the final aim is to have one huge world map, covering
all timezones, for all WG servers to fight over.
Using Tanks, Planes, and Battleships. (integrated in some way on the clan wars map, but not in the same battle)
To get from where we are now, to there, will entail many steps.
A lot of these steps have the potential to fix the timezone issue with Oceania players, and the final product will suit all players on all servers.
So the issue is not, will Oceania timezones be supported on the NA server, and will SEA server have clan-wars, because the answer to both of those is yes, eventually.
The issue instead is, what clan-wars will be available to the Oceania timezone in the short future.
The only answers I have for that at the moment, is there will not be clan-wars on the SEA server until there is a sufficient player population and number of clans on the SEA server to warrant that feature being enabled.
As for the NA server, I'll continue to work on getting increased Oceania timezone support within clan-wars.
Regards
Tan.

perhaps suggest a better way to help them fix it? As the contests
are for the community, I'm sure they wouldn't mind constructive
feedback from the community on what they like/dislike.
e.g. The current voting system seems unfair, allowing people to neg rep one(s) they don't like, rather than only voting for the one(s) that they do. Perhaps a different system, such as a poll (multiple choice poll?), which would allow only positive votes to be counted.
Again, just my $0.02, take it or leave it.

GeneralDirection: It's a possibility 7.5 will release before the finals, yes. I
imagine anyone who would use the BatChat in the finals probably
already had it.
I don't think it's fair to say people playing it in the finals only got it by virtue of stockpiling a bunch of free experience.

But as has been said above, we do recognize clans to be a backbone to a great game, which is why WGA has employed someone specifically to help fill that position.

Lode, on Jul 23 2012 - 17:31, said: Well, let's step back and give this a look from a lateral
perspective...
Are most players paying money to buy gold?
It felt like a game that wasn't in Beta the day they cleared out all of our garages and made us start over having to buy gold instead of getting a daily stipend for free. With this also came the release of Ultimate Conquest and the 'Global Map'... which doesn't yet span the globe and, strangely, isn't spherical in shape. (oh yeah, we're still in beta!!!... lol)
What makes me smile... thinking about the fact that wargaming.net would probably make more money from players buying gold to participate in taking newly added lands in Africa (like those on the EU/RU server) than what it's pay out to clans holding those properties. 72g/day doesn't go far buying clan's gold rounds or consumables even if you're holding 10 of them.
Call it 'Beta', 'Alpha', 'pre release' or whatever... seems to be launched and out of Beta for a while now from my seat. My credit card statement over last summer reinforces this view.
I bet this is the most lucrative 'Beta' in the history of online gaming, lol.
As far as all the merger talk with EU and RU, we also talk about people living on Mars or the moon 'someday'.
Comic book guy, "longest... beta... ever."

Tanitha: A unfortunate set of circumstances.
You one shot a T59 who was capping, (Probably from a ammo rack hit)
Friendly fire in the cap circle of friendly tanks who are capping, is weighted heavily by the smart auto friendly fire system that takes these things into consideration.
You need to take extra care to NOT hit friendly tanks who are capping.
That was enough to go blue, which isnt the end of the world, it means tanks on your team can retaliate and shoot you without any FF sanctions.
But then you killed yet another ally, and thus got removed from the game for a day.
All in all, you purposely TKed a allied tank, and got a game ban due to that.
Id say the auto system did well personally.
If you posted a replay of a ban from a accidental shot, then that would be something to justly complain about.
The forum rules also state that disputes are not to be lodged into the forums.

Kobra2009, on Jul 28 2012 - 22:06, said: I'd love to see WOT move to a monthly fee schedule. Why? It
generally moves off a lot of riff-raff in these games, people that
leech off them and do not offer anything in return, and in this
game the prejudice against paying players is astoundingly high! I
believe a small monthly fee would move a lot of these leeches out
of the game, and possibly increase the amount of players
overall.
What I would propose is something like a 2 tier schedule;
1) $5.00 a month to play the game, period. No $5 no play. Anyone can afford this, and would serve as an 'entrance fee' to at least keep some of the arrogant freeloaders off the game.
2) $10.00 a month, this would be a 'premium' member. Offering full play of the game, in addition to a premium garage and experience/credits.
3) $15.00 a month. This would be both of the above AND the addition of say 3,000 gold per month on the rollover date of each month.
In addition to this, WOT could offer additional gold purchases, tank purchases, and all sorts of other things in the store. This way the freeloaders are removed, the penetration of the game would reach a higher level, and the arrogance from freeloaders towards people that support the game would cease to exist. Frankly, it is a HUGE turnoff to play this game as a supporting member because of the racism levied towards people that do support it, commonly called 'wallet warriors' by the people exhibiting this racism, and it detracts from the community pretty substantially and does NOT help sell the game. In fact, it discourages people from partaking in premium aspects because they do not want to attract the hatred from the have-nots that do play it. A monthly fee schedule would solve this problem immediately.
Thoughts? I do not generally support the free to play concept simply because it tends to attract hideous crowds. Most of the MMO's that have gone free to play I avoid like the plague because the quality of the community drops substantially once the monthly fee is removed. It's like the difference between Costco and Walmart, walk into each store, and look at the crowds.. One pays to shop the other doesn't, and you REALLY can tell the difference - and it's a much nicer place to shop at Costco than Walmart.. Games are the same way, a small fee keeps the brats out.

GeneralDirection: Nope, not a dev--still Head of Community for North America. But one
of our own did move on to the production team. Jinxx71 is now a
Producer on World of Warplanes.
The cool thing about the CM team is that while we're not game designers, we have been given the opportunity to design some of the content you see--including specials and some stuff coming in the future. We've also had a hand in the push to improve the matchmaker, among other things.
Our main job--even though writing interesting articles, sharing things on our Facebook page or creating contests is fun--is to make sure player feedback is heard. Hopefully we've helped to improve things around here by doing so. The design team definitely wouldn't be able to keep up without the CM teams (for every region) reporting feedback to them.

The nice thing about 2x credits is it won't be replaced by something else in a special, so you can always expect that.
I think I'll put together an article explaining the way we design specials, as well as some of the philosophy behind the frequency of certain bonuses/discounts.

The in game report feature is still in development.
Your best response to players who "report allied positions to the enemy" would be to submit a screen-shot or replay to support.worldoftanks.com
The offender would then receive a 3 day chat mute after the players logs are verified.

and i could see my tank, but after 7.4 dropped none of that happens
anymore and i cant figure out why,
i've read other topics saying mess with AA and all that but i've set AA to off, 2x, 4x, and 8x i've also turned triple buffering on and off and it didnt fix the problem. does anyone know how to fix this? i cant hit the enemy anymore since i cant get a fix on his tank

Tanitha: It is correct that the issue is usually (read "almost always") a AA
issue.
And yes you do need to make changes to this setting to get the outlines back, either in the game itself, or in your graphic card settings.
The reason why adjustments in the game might not be rectifying the issue is a lot of graphic cards override the game settings, so any adjustments then need to be done in your graphics card software.

Tan.

two years are all set as "Other"
As you know the new warning system is "new" and not fully activated yet.
When it is fully activated then all new warnings and sanction after that date, will then be listed correctly.
Until then and for all warnings/sanctions in the past, are/will all be "other"

Tanitha: SEA server is open and on-line, pings and routing from AUS ->
the SEA server has been reworked and a LOT better than it was in
the initial stages.
A transfer was offered to the NA players. A lot of Oceania players took that transfer, a lot of Oceania players decided to stay and a lot of Oceania players missed out on the transfer due to little notice being provided.
However all of these things are different topics.
This topic dated back in March is now outdated and contains incorrect out dated information.
And based on that fact solely, I'll close this thread up.
