generally moves off a lot of riff-raff in these games, people that
leech off them and do not offer anything in return, and in this
game the prejudice against paying players is astoundingly high! I
believe a small monthly fee would move a lot of these leeches out
of the game, and possibly increase the amount of players
overall.What I would propose is something like a 2 tier schedule;
1) $5.00 a month to play the game, period. No $5 no play. Anyone can afford this, and would serve as an 'entrance fee' to at least keep some of the arrogant freeloaders off the game.
2) $10.00 a month, this would be a 'premium' member. Offering full play of the game, in addition to a premium garage and experience/credits.
3) $15.00 a month. This would be both of the above AND the addition of say 3,000 gold per month on the rollover date of each month.
In addition to this, WOT could offer additional gold purchases, tank purchases, and all sorts of other things in the store. This way the freeloaders are removed, the penetration of the game would reach a higher level, and the arrogance from freeloaders towards people that support the game would cease to exist. Frankly, it is a HUGE turnoff to play this game as a supporting member because of the racism levied towards people that do support it, commonly called 'wallet warriors' by the people exhibiting this racism, and it detracts from the community pretty substantially and does NOT help sell the game. In fact, it discourages people from partaking in premium aspects because they do not want to attract the hatred from the have-nots that do play it. A monthly fee schedule would solve this problem immediately.
Thoughts? I do not generally support the free to play concept simply because it tends to attract hideous crowds. Most of the MMO's that have gone free to play I avoid like the plague because the quality of the community drops substantially once the monthly fee is removed. It's like the difference between Costco and Walmart, walk into each store, and look at the crowds.. One pays to shop the other doesn't, and you REALLY can tell the difference - and it's a much nicer place to shop at Costco than Walmart.. Games are the same way, a small fee keeps the brats out.
GeneralDirection: We have no plans of making World of Tanks a pay-to-play game.
Proposal: Monthly fee schedule.
