LiannaSilverwind: I apologize for off-topic historical sidenote, but from I've read, Panzerfaust was able to penetrate all allies tanks armor, considering first 1943 models penetrated up to 140 mm and later 1943 models could penetrate up to 200 mm. It's Götaland, not Getland (which translates into Goatland :lol: )
Vasterbotten is Västerbotten, Krunuberg is Kronoberg, and Jmtland is Jämtland.
I don't speak finnish, but atleast in Swedish Lapland should be Lappland.

And guys please don't get too hung up about the names, I did the map myself, for our clan, and instead of being selfish and keeping it in our clan only forums, I shared it. Its not a official wot map that has been checked, translated properly, etc etc etc. Its just a player sharing..
And it took around 8-12 hours to do (lost track). so to be honest towards the end with the naming, i didn't really care as much, I just wanted to FINISH... Id had enough : )

Tanitha: Right!.. I just screenshotted the map 100+ times and pasted it together, and then translated it etc. So there is two places there could be errors.
1. In the WOT clanwars map.
2. In my typing and translating.

I'll redo the map and look, thanks.
But the main thing to me, and I thought everyone else, was for clans to look at what land earns what : ) So they can start planning the world domination. But yeah yeah i'll tidy up the typos for everyone : )

PS: Did you read my previous post(page 10)? When are the devs going to read through all the posts to make sure they didn`t miss any ideas :) ?

Overlord: This would be only my personal rough estimation - most of the improvements are likely to be added in the update that comes after v.0.6.4. (Current schedule: 0.6.3.x patch - > 0.6.4.x patch -> patch with fixes). Some fixes may be added earlier. Sorry, but can't give any dates at this stage.
Rebalancing and fixing the existing tanks don't interfere with modelling new vehicles and making up tech descriptions for them. In fact these things don't overlap.
Everything is read and taken into account.

Overlord: Depends on what you mean by calling post a "fake". I'd say that it is pretty one-sided compilation of facts taken out of context.
For clan wars we are going to gather separate stat data and examine it which will have certain influence on balancing. In my opinion the main problem is not that German tanks are entirely worse or underpowered in comparison with Soviet ones, but the fact they are less versatile and more skill-dependent.
Consequently, they are a bit more difficult to use.
At this time we are examining data on German vehciles we have, determining the most critical issues, and devising possible solutions. Some adjustments are a must, but there will be no hasty "ASAP!" fixes.
And I ask everybody to stop side discussions here.

On a more serious note, I know the devs are fixing the Mudguard issue on the Maus but what about the side armour? What I mean by that is, the whole issue with the mudguards is that all the shell is hitting is the track, so it shouldn't damage the tank itself which it currently does.. but that can be said for the lower side of the Maus armour too, can't it? The Red line on the pic below is the area of side armour I'm talking about here.

You look at a cross section of a Maus, to damage the hull from a lower side shot, the shell would have to go through the armour and then through the entire track/wheel layout before it actually reaches the hull, so just like with the mudguards, why is it when someone hits you in the lower section of your side armour, you lose HP?
It could also be noted that when you look at another cross-section of the Maus, even if a shell does manage to get through the lower side armour and the track/wheels it still then has to penetrate a second layer of armour 80mm thick. You put all that together, surely damaging the Maus' hull from a low side-shot should be impossible?.. or at least, harder than it currently is.

Overlord: Clan registration is going to cost 2500 gold for clan leader after release, the participation itself is going to be free.
Most likely there will be tank skins for credits as well. Yes, some or all skins will provide small gameplay bonuses (camo). Their mechanics could be similar to the way consumables work.

Currently Medium tank is being considered as 1.00 units, whilst Heavy tank of the same tier is being considered as 1.35 units for balancer. Therefore 10x IS-7 are being considered as equal 15x T-54. Rebalancing for tier 9 mediums is coming soon.

I'm fine in my T-34/57 to meet Tier 7 and 8 tanks. I don't mind coming face to face with a King Tiger with my VK3001P. But after Tier 8 things just get so stupidly good in all concievable ways, that there's not really any way to play any of the 'famous WW2 tanks', and have fun at the same time.

Overlord: Prior to the release of clan wars, this mode is supposed to go through its own beta that will start shortly after game release.
When clan wars beta is finished global map will be reset

Tanitha: Its meant to be around 200. Not 100, but ive not counted them.
The major cities will get their own maps eventually, but for now they will be a random selection of appropriate maps.

Tanitha: 1. Sicily is owned by a clan. The photo above was made by 100ish screnshots while zoomed in, that were patched together from the russian clanwars which started today/yesterday. So some land had been taken while i was making the map. Sicily has a clan logo on it. Sardinia has been attacked and waiting the battle

Overlord: Introduction of 3 separate instances of global map with the rules for the current battle league divisions is quite possible, that will enable more players to participate in CW.
Basically, similar restrictions are planned for company battles.
Moreover we have got a huge number of clans that can cover all existing provinces relatively fast, that's why 3 separate insatnces of global map will allow larger number of clans to show ones worth.
Once again it's not totally confirmed, but we are considering this as an option.

Overlord: Its battle performance is not supposed to go down. This adjustment is needed for the sake of game economy. Vehicles of the same tier and type are to be approx equally profitable/unprofitable.

Overlord: Balancing is not based on players skill directly, it is vehicle's porularity that is taken into account as well. Currently statistics show that T23 performs in battles 1.2-1.5% better than Panther and T-44. At the same time being a "niche" tank (not frequently used) T23 won't indergo any nerf in the near future.

There could be game limits for specific year (up to 1939, 1941, 1943, 1945, and after 2ndWW). It’s absolutely unrealistic to play with tanks like T29, T30 or T-54, IS-7 against Tiger or Pz IV. You can directly put Abrams or T-90 into game. It will be the same.
Visibility, damage models and ballistics are too simple for me. For first tank battles was made on real big places. Especially at Russian front. There could be shot range at 2 or more km. One of German tanks advantage was high accuracy and penetration of their guns at high range. Important was good position and good situation awareness. Was easy to see and hit enemy for 1 or more km. Limitation to 500m is nonsense. And invisible tanks are crazy idea to balance game. Of course more realistic needs much bigger maps. Damage models have common problem. When you penetrate armor you got high chance to kill everyone inside, or make tank disable. Repairing belts into battle was almost unrealistic. In real it’s possible to shot over top of the hill. And there is real heavy weight of shells. You need to calculate with this when you fire, or recalibrate your sights to correct distance. Not just push fire into green circle :).
So they are reasons why I’m not interesting about this game. I understand that’s made for half million of /edited players which are not interesting about reality, but needs to push fire and have lots of time to do that. I’m not. Wish you luck with development and let me know when you add realistic mod.

Impressions section rule demands closure of the topic, but I would like to add bit of philosophy of my own. I hope you won't mind.
Time investment: All MMOs are planned as long time investment, most of them take months to get to top levels of character evolution or gear progression. World of Tanks progression is very fast. You can get to Tier 8 tank in 2 weeks of non-premium gameplay (I did it, I did not realize premium is useful) while attending to full-time job. During Russian release first Tier 10 tank appeared just in 6 days after release. To be honest, I personally view World of Tanks as being too quick in progression.
Enjoyment: it's very important to enjoy the progression in MMOs, if everyone gets to the top tanks very soon, they will forget about little ones usually, get "bored" much faster and quit altogether. Many players also enjoy slow progression, viewing it as a Path to walk, with Goals to achieve.
Realism: Yes, you are absolutely right. Currently game engine cannot support bigger maps. At the same time World of Tanks is not being propagated as historical simulator. http://www.youtube.c...?v=D4Kuumslq4M. Hardcore mode may come one day, but it's too early to speak about it. Personally I look forward to it.

Overlord: Because Pershing's performance was better than the performance of Panther II and even T-54. Just like T23 and its counterparts.
Again one of the reasons for Pershing's advantage was its rather low usage.
