GeneralDirection: Fair enough. I'll make these changes then:
Panzac - Drop Bears -- first place
DHAC - 1337 -- second place
And then:
November 25thMatch between SP-1B and Panzac - PuzzletimersWinning team takes third placeLosing team takes fourth place
Does that sound more fair?

This is a whimsical response and shows a lack of respect for the community. It sounds like you don't even care what your answer is.
I appreciate the Dev Q&A, but please take them seriously or don't answer at all.

GeneralDirection: The only real answer for that, to be honest, is "No." You have to remember that many of the game designers do not speak English as their first language. They were not intending to sound insulting with the response.

And after months of seeing T95's taking E75's down by 30-45% HP in a single shot? Yeah, I call BS.

GeneralDirection: The questions are compiled from all of the server forums now.

P.S. great game! my one problem though is lag if you could work on lowering lag somehow :D

GeneralDirection: Physics are still a work in progress. We chose to release updates while we polish the physics system, rather than delaying finished content.

GeneralDirection: It's entirely possible you will play DHAC 1337 again, yes. I've tried to avoid making changes to this tournament as much as possible, but like I said above, there being a winner without the final happening does not feel right.

GeneralDirection: So here is what is going to happen. I will be contacting all team captains regarding this shortly after this post.
November 24th
SP-1B will play Panzac - PuzzletimersWinning team moves on to play DHAC 1337Losing team takes fourth place
November 25th
Nov. 24th winning team plays DHAC 1337; winning team moves on to play in finals, losing team takes third place
November 26th
Nov. 25th winning team (DHAC 1337 or Nov. 24th winner) plays Panzac - Drop Bears
This seems like the best course of action given the situation, and the fact that second through fourth place is up in the air right now, and a winner being crowned without an actual final doesn't feel right.
If you want to dispute this, you'll need to do so fast.

So the only thing this really does for me is put me about 15k EXP closer to the 105mm gun on the E50. Where did that list even come from? I dont see how it has anything to do with thnksgiving which leads me to question why the bonus tanks couldnt have been for one tier on every vehicle in each tree. Supposedly the moneymakers are tier 5 and tier 6, so why not take one light, medium, heavy, TD, and SPG from each tree and give them the bonus (instead of randomly throwing together 2 from each tree) to make the event a little more deserving of the title 'Tanksgiving'?

GeneralDirection: I suppose we could completely ignore the double credit income when considering it, sure.

They may be supposed to be on a later patch as with the Horns. Who knows, if the replay works well, may go on 7.0 :Smile_honoring:

Vallter: The feature is not finished yet. We've added only the first part. That's why it has not been announced. Also for now it has some issues still. If we manage to fix them, 'replays' will enter 7.0. If not, they will be scheduled for future updates.

Vallter: Normally it's 1-2 weeks after the start of Common test, which started this Friday. The time frame depends on how fast the issues, which were revealed on the common test, will be fixed.

Looking forward to the new maps and paint schemes(I won't call them camo since they don't actually do anything yet) but am otherwise unimpressed with how long its taken and how they seem to continually push back the french...though the teaser at the end is...cool.

Vallter: The main feature of this update is multi-cluster technology, which costed us a lot of time to develop. This is first step towards uniting servers and providing good ping to all of our players, including Australia and Oceania zone. Also this is a good step towards the providing provinces in CW with a prime-time suitable for above-mentioned region time zone.

View PostW0lfy, on Nov 23 2011 - 05:22, said: In the first round of the NA Challenge, there were five 2-2-0 draws and one 0-2-0 draw, meaning that 10% of the battles had a 'not defined' result, this in turn means that in 16% of the round 2 battles one of the teams has nobody to fight and gets a free ride to round 3.
Given the high percentage of 'not defined' results, I think that the "team must win 3 battles out of a maximum of 5" rule needs to be adjusted.
Either allow the team with the most wins to progress, or allow for more than 5 battles until one team wins 3, or allow for a play-off until there is a result.
The current situation is not fair to either teams participating in a drawn match (especially 2-2-0) or to the teams remaining in the competition, since some teams get a free ride through the next round.

GeneralDirection: I will absolutely be changing this for the next tournament. I'd hoped the rule would have encouraged more aggressive play, but that was clearly not the case.
In the future we will likely give 2-3 additional battles over the typical "best of" series seen in competitions. We'll probably be moving the duration of battles back to the standard 15 minutes as well for online tournaments.

they had two StuGIIIs and a Grille we still fought them to a draw but that put use out of the challege
I have screen shots just do not know where to send them

How hard would it have been to send a simple pm to those captain(s) who were added AFTER the post stating they did not get in? I am 100% sure that when registration closed we did not make it in. We are not looking for any rematch. We just want to make sure that THIS problem is acknowledged by WG and no team in the future has to be embarassed by this same situation in future tournaments.

GeneralDirection: I'm 100% positive when I made the post you were in the process of being accepted. I will put in a few requests for features to make sure team captains are aware when their team is accepted. If you notice in the thread you linked, I never said all teams had been accepted -- just that we'd already gone past the number of teams that could be accepted. We were in the process of accepting teams based on their registration date. This is a manual process at the moment, so it takes a while to go through that many teams and approve each one.

How about several 128 players events running at once, but at different times? Just like the Oceanic, and NA challenge, but maybe more, like a 6pm Eastern start, and a 9pm, and a 1am, and you can pick only one to play in.

GeneralDirection: A 512 tournament could potentially be viable if only held once every quarter, or once every six months. It would take quite a bit longer to get organized and wouldn't be as quick as a tournament with 128 teams, though.

We registered and were put "Pending Approval". The tournament filled quickly and registration closed as stated here... http://forum.worldof...lenge-now-full/ . At that point, we blamed OURSELVES for not applying quicker. Tonight, we were planning out our clan wars fights and a special battle drops for a few of us. Somehow we were now "Accepted". How should we have known? We went in short and ended up 1-3. No practice, tanks not ready, and almost half of our team not online. Did some teams just magically say, "Oh take us off and let someone else play"??? Even then, why was the team captain, me, not notified??? VERY POOR PERFORMANCE ON WARGAMING'S PART (where is the "thumbs down" smiley when you need it?). If teams had inappropriate names (only glanced at the posts), then why were they "Accepted" in the first place??? Can someone, preferably Gen. Direction, give one logical explanation. If WG was not professional and negligent can we at least get an apology and "we'll fix this" to soothe some of the embarassment that we feel was sprung on us.

GeneralDirection: Your team was eligible for the tournament, but as mentioned yesterday, we had an issue accepting the 128th team (which was you). The reason I didn't post a thread yesterday about the issue is we were able to fix it yesterday afternoon, shortly after that post. At that time your team was accepted.

View PostGutentag, on Nov 23 2011 - 01:57, said: Thats because they got the max teams early on and leave the applying teams in limbo

GeneralDirection: It should actually automatically decline teams after registration fills up. Trying to find out what's going on with it, but I don't want to break the tournament schedule, so I'll probably troubleshoot that after the tournament has concluded.

GeneralDirection: This is an automated process when the registration is closed. I'll put in a request for a notification as to why on the team page, but it will take some development time to get that implemented.

If any of you mods are up, please correct if I'm mistaken.

GeneralDirection: The patch is in the process of being localized, yes.
