View PostHotMachete, on Jun 01 2015 - 11:45, said:   Is WG planning on addressing the obvious cheating that's going on?  In the original War Gaming's Own announcement thread it was pointed out by several people that fail-platooning in conjunction with coordinated click-ins would allow for massive cheating.  I know you're aware of this Pizzastorm, because you commented in the original thread where the cheating concerns were raised.  However we're now a few months into War Gaming's Own, and numerous top spots on the leader boards have been filled by players who clearly used the aforementioned cheating method to get those spots.  In the original War Gaming's Own thread you said that WG would deal with such cheating, but so far nothing has been done.  Is this going to change?  If not, can you give any reason why anyone who's not willing to cheat should participate in War Gaming's Own at all?  What incentive is there for players to participate in a contest that's rigged?  And if you are planning on weeding our the cheaters after the fact, then what's the point of having leader boards?

pizzastorm:   We have already removed several people for doing this. Anytime we get a report with evidence we take a look at it and take action.   This is temporary until we can get more solid measures in place.

Basically, is the important part of this contest based on the quality of the content (which the question is then how will you judge content quality) or is it going to be judged more on presentation quality?

pizzastorm:   We will just have to look at each one individually and use common sense. It will be a mix of content and presentation.

It does seem that fewer reward tanks are being given out... that might make it more difficult to pick up an IS-5.

veganzombiez:

View Post_vode_an_, on Jun 01 2015 - 09:05, said: werent there like 2500 t23e3s given out? this is a much smaller number. give away 2500 and allow 1500 people to buy it and then its an increase in numbers...

veganzombiez:   Armageddon is a mini-campaign, similar to Twilight of the Gods, and only last 10 days.  They're not full campaigns, which last 40 days.   The Third Campaign gave out 3,000 Tier X tanks.   Twilight of the Gods gave out the following prizes: Ranks 1-300: 112 (Tier VIII) Ranks 301-1200: T23E3 (Tier VII)   Armageddon will be rewarding 1,000 IS-5s (Tier VIII) for free, and giving the next 1,500 the opportunity to purchase the IS-5, if they choose to.

View PostGryphon_, on Jun 01 2015 - 09:39, said: @dance: I see that a number of teams, like mine, competed for less than the full four weeks, but did well enough to be in the top percentages on points alone. I am told that players who were in a team for 3 of the 4 weeks will only receive 75% of the prize that their points qualifies them for. I can understand that if the rankings were based on winrate, but its seems odd that a team who scored more points than another team should received less gold than that other team. I understand the concern that top teams might change members each week and game the system for a full payout each, but perhaps a better way to factor down the payments to each player would be to consider the total number of weeks that each team was registered (1-4) as the base, rather than assuming that 4 weeks is the base for all. So if a team was registered for 3 weeks and ranked in top 20%, then players who were in that team for all 3 weeks would get 100%, 2 weeks 67%, etc. Its all spreadsheet work and very doable. As it stands, teams who played less than the full 4 weeks but scored more points than those that did play all four get less gold, which seems illogical.   I realize its work, and you have other things to get to, but if you decided that the above interpretation of the prize rules was more equitable (seeing as no-one loses out) then if you could make that happen the community would be mightily impressed..!

dance210:   I'm not quite sure who told you that. Teams get the full prize, no matter how many weeks they registered. However, if a team played for 3 weeks, but a player only played for 2 weeks, they will get 2/3 of the final prize.   That's why I'm double checking everything before sending out the gold ;)

dance210:   Qualifiers aren't up yet; they go up tomorrow. What's up right now is for teams that have been invited back to the Silver/Bronze Leagues.

Yoott:   You can click on the orange challonge symbol on bottom left and I believe it will take you to the full tournament page   Winner Bracket   Losers Bracket

Ive seen it and read it that even though 2 teams tied and one of those beat the other they both still got the gold. You can't just pick and choose who gets it and who don't. Not fair at all, :/

Koenig_Tiger: Moose_nuts , thanks for your posting - we apply the tie break rules as stated to give out prizes equitably , and occasionally amend the results and payouts if there is a dispute - we do sometimes receive queries that we have given out not enough gold, but very rarely that we have give out too much ! Please advise of the exact Stand- To's and teams that you believe had been overpaid ...   THank you   KT
