offense was committed. I say usually because I am being
transparent. I have personally banned 2 folks across all of our
platforms in my 3 years here - one was for graphic child torture
pornography posted to the WoT forums. It was also reported to and
investigated by the FBI. The other person was for sending in
credible death threats to employees through the support system.
Credible means they listed times, dates, locations, names, means
etc. This was also reported to and investigated by the police. It
would be safe to say that if the behavior warrants an police report
or a FBI investigation, then it would lead to a perma ban across
everything. The policy does apply to WoWS, and articles and
forum posts are up on that site as well. But getting a strike in
WoWS doesn't count against you in WoT.

its been stated clearly yet. We do plan to actively monitor this
entire system. I've already had reports generated showing how many
people received forum sanctions in the past 6 months, how many
received in-game chat or game bans in the past year, and for what.
We done several months worth of research to determine what we
should do with the new policy. We will actively be
monitoring the bans that are placed, all of the appeals, and all of
the feedback received. We can and will change the system as needed.
We don't claim to have gotten this 100% correct on the first try. A
group of team leads will regularly review if this is improving
toxicity and creating a more positive environment in our games. If
it's not, then it will need to be changed.

JTM78, on Aug 01 2016 - 16:22, said: 1. How are rule offending player notified that they get strike or
warning? Through email for in-game, through forum PM for forums
2. Some players have been here for 5 years and a strike a year would not think be hard to get. I don't like the permanent ban idea with no roll off for small things. If it's inconsequential and truly "small" it shouldn't be a strike. Perma bans cannot be placed by everyone on staff - they must be reviewed by a team lead. If the lead saw that any of the strikes had been incorrectly placed, the perma would not be issued.
3. Do multiple report for the same issue in the same match count as multiple strikes? No
4. Since the TK/ team system is staying the same, can tk or team damage get you strikes? Not TK that is punished by the system. We do still review complaints of physics abuse that the system doesn't always correctly categorize (barrel in barrel is one of those) If it is something that is reviewed by staff, and hand placed, then it is a strike.
5. Will support be on line 24/7 to help with banned or strike for offending players? Support is already available 24/7, 7 days a week. Our turnaround for tickets last week was between 3-10 hours. 3 hours for easy stuff like a tank restorations, longer for things like refunds that require we check with the payment aggregator. Three different games for WG patched last week and standard tickets with questions about patches has caused turnaround time to increase, but that is normal the week after a patch.
I understand as a on again off again player that something most be do with/about toxic players and I would like to see them gone but this maybe to broad of a fix.

and reported the posts. Having the post reported is what triggers
us to go and look at it in the first place, but we still then make
a determination of whether it was actually inappropriate or not. I
reviewed that ban before it was placed, and agreed with the
determination.

any of the discussions about rigging. I do know that much of what
was decided was decided at a global level. I am not pretending that
nothing happened there, or that we had the absolute perfect
response to it. There were many different responses, and all of
them had downsides, so it was about trying to choose the best
solution when all of the solutions were flawed in some way. But its
totally outside the scope of this conversation - this conversation
is about players receiving strikes for misbehavior, not about why
we didn't take tanks away. The part of that situation that is
relevant to this conversation would be the part where they got
banned, which would have counted as a strike.

Will the system determine a "in-game" violation and then hand

never be removed.....that seems pretty harsh. I know you want
to eliminate players causing grief but, this seems a little too
over the edge. I can see a lot of perma bans coming to
tankers that really don't deserve it.

an unaltered image of a clan wars map. Below it were two other
images that were completely inappropriate. People are not
perma banned for one post, so it is incorrect to say anyone was
banned based on just one post. People who are perma banned get
there by being inappropriate over and over and over again. Some
players have over a 100 forum points over the lifetime of their
forum account. Those players shouldn't have the ability to come
back literally over a hundred times doing the same thing, and
ruining everyone else's experience. Your sanction was for a
comment that was sexual in nature. I won't quote it exactly because
it's inappropriate, and was correctly removed from the forum. If
you get a strike after the policy is in effect that you disagree
with - it wasn't that bad, it was too old to sanction, whatever it
is that you disagree with - then please send an appeal, so that we
can review it. Strikes can always be removed if they were placed
incorrectly. I have no insights into clan wars, rigging, or
lawsuits. These are handled by another department. I am happy to be
transparent about things I do have insight into, however.

I personally think that teamkill bans at least should decay.
At least the first one, if you get TK banned for say an hour or 6
hours, or however the shortest time is, it should decay, but take
say 3 times as long to decay as it previously did. Sometimes TKs
are unintentional, and do earn bans that arent always justified.
(And some people get TK banned for essentially defending themselves
from trolls) like, they are justified but sorta not deserving?
Accidentally TKing someone on the cap circle for instant ban, clan
mates TKing each other in strongholds (which is where my one and
only ever TK ban came from) shouldnt ever get strikes (or even get
a TK penalty tbh) strikes for TKs should only be given when its a
multiple offense. Also, I HIGHLY implore that support look at the
issue in question before giving a strike, because its a big
deal. As for forum bans... Yeah. I kinda have to
admit, the stuff you get banned for can be quite minor, or even
nonexistent. I dont think its the right way to do forum bans,
because I have also had an RO for posts I have made months before
the RO was given in threads that had been dead for just as long.
Also I actually did a test in this, I reported several forum posts
that didnt deserve moderating for some bollocks reason, and all of
the posts except 1 got modded. (amusingly enough the one post that
didnt get modded was most deserving of the RO)

15 different insulting words, with some abbreviated profanity
thrown in for good measure then that's a different story. If you
think a strike was too heavy handed, please appeal it so we can
ensure fair and consistent enforcement.
Cenotaph, on Aug 01 2016 - 13:15, said: Yeah, not buying it... Like I said earlier, if they

terminated the moderation service we had been working with and
brought it entirely back in house. I know there has been severely
inconsistent moderation in the past, but we expressly worked to
change that BEFORE we revamped the policy. None of our current
moderators have had lots of moderation being overturned - and for
the few things that needed to be overturned so far, it is discussed
with the moderator so that they can improve their decision making
process.

won't roll off. Players in general are going to have to learn from
their mistakes and improve, and not just improve long enough for
their points to fall off.
TheQuagmire, on Aug 01 2016 - 13:23, said: But I doubt you could beat my amount of final warnings lolNyxWGA: This would basically illustrate the whole problem with the current

long enough for the sanctions to roll off.

will be one of the folks monitoring these closely - and we'll be
auditing the strikes themselves, not just appeals, to ensure that
folks on our end are placing them correctly and consistently.
Over time, once we feel that the team is being consistent,
we'll audit the strikes themselves less, but continue to audit the
appeals. We have an internal Quality Assurance department that we
set up this spring. Through this, we continually audit customer
service ticket responses, forum moderation, and any type of
sanctioning/banning that is occurring to ensure we are being
consistent. I know that some folks have had bad experiences
in the past, so it's understandable to have some concerns. PLEASE
submit an appeal if you feel you have been sanctioned incorrectly
so that we can address the issue.

through this policy change will be placed manually so there will
never be a situation where someone is banned "accidentally" because
of over-reporting and then has to wait to be reviewed. All reviews
are done PRIOR to the ban ever being placed. Additionally,
forum moderation is now done entirely in-house. All forum
moderators are Wargaming employees. We no longer utilize a 3rd
party moderation team. I supervise all of the specialists and all
of the forum moderators that you see on the forums across all
Wargaming forums. If someone is making mistakes, PLEASE report them
so that we can correct the mistake for you, and prevent it from
happening again to someone else.

Honestly, I don't mind when folks call us out for stuff we actually
did wrong here on the forums. The correct way to do it is in PM to
Ghost or myself, or in a support ticket. I supervise all of the
specialists and moderators across all of our games and when someone
is making mistakes, they need to be corrected. Any of the

From the bottom of my heart, Ghost. This will not work. Even with
me getting down to basically 0 warning points, it's impossible to
stay out of the moderator's eyes unless you just don't post. This
will lead to alot of players just getting ROs accidentally and then

nowadays. I'm not trying to insult you guys, I think you do an
amazing job. But there have been times when the RO's we get are...
Rather mundane and there are times when you guys are on point and
get rid of trolls rather quickly. But now with this policy you're
just putting them all under a blanket and saying "These are the bad
players" instead of trying to see what they are. This is treating
people who get minor 1 point warning violations with people who
spam, bad post and troll.

Link on message: #10305780
GhostPrime: Greetings Tankers! Wargaming is pleased to announce an update to
our Rules and Violations policy. We’ve heard your requests for more
transparency regarding how violations are handled and we want to
provide this to you. We are committed to providing everyone with a
positive gaming experience, and a key part of that is how we handle
our rules and what happens when they are violated. Our goal with
this update is to reward players who contribute positively to our
games, and to make sure there are policies in place to help keep
our games as safe as possible for everyone. Earn Rewards for Good
Behavior The most important part of our new policy is the addition
of rewards! Players who step up to the challenge and
consistently exhibit good behavior will be rewarded every three
months. Everyone who has no game, chat, or forum violations during
the 3 month period: Will receive a token of appreciation from
Wargaming - these could be things like Premium consumables or other
in-game items. Will be entered into a drawing for ninety (90) days
of Premium time. Fifty (50) random players will be selected to
receive this Premium time! All players that have no game, chat, or
forum violations for an entire year will be entered into a drawing
for a selection of in-game items worth $250. One (1) player will be
selected to receive this package of items that would include things
like Premium Time, rare vehicles, and Gold. Start Date Our
new policy will go into effect on August 8, 2016 . We are
providing it here today so that everyone can be aware of these
changes in advance. As we are rolling out the updates to our
policy, we will be wiping the slate clean for every Wargaming
customer with an active account.* Any previous in-game sanctions,
chat violations, or forum warnings will no longer count against
you. (Players who are already permanently banned
are NOT eligible to be unbanned and receive a clean
slate). How Strikes Work Previously, violations would “roll
off” and no longer count against you after a certain period of
time. This left open the possibility for people to “game the
system” by improving behavior only long enough to let their
violation roll off. Under the new policy: Players will
receive one warning, and each offense afterwards will then
count as a “strike” against the account. Each strike received will
come will a restriction. Restrictions increase with each strike.
Important: Strikes do not roll off! Once you have reached 5
strikes, your account is eligible to be permanently restricted. 5
strikes in chat violations can result in a permanent chat ban. 5
strikes in game violations can result in a permanent game ban. 5
strikes in the forums can result in a permanent forum ban. If you
believe a strike was placed on your account incorrectly, submit a
Penalty Appeal as a Support
ticket and we will thoroughly review the issue.
Please note! For extremely severe violations, an account can
be restricted with less than the above number of strikes, at the
sole discretion of Wargaming employees. Wargaming reserves the
right to review each situation and take the best action based on
the individual details of the particular issue. We have provided a
detailed explanation of exactly what this means for in-game
behavior, chat behavior, and forum behavior. https://na.wargaming.net/support/kb/articles/680
We believe these new policies will help improve everyone’s
overall experience, keep the games you love as friendly as
possible. Our desire is not to punish people – we want to have
a clear policy in place and then hold players
accountable for their behavior in order to ensure we do
everything we can to provide you with the best possible gaming
experience! At the same time, we want to reward those who step up
to meet these expectations consistently. *Please note – accounts
that were banned under the previous system will remain banned.
Existing banned accounts are not eligible for a clean slate. If you
have any questions, please place them in the comments below.

World of Tanks does not have built in controller support,
but there are programs out there that will allow you to map keys to
controllers. World of tanks on PC is a bit of a different beast
than that of the Console version, so it would play exactly the
same. There may be a learning curve with either method you choose

NyxWGA: Alrighty folks - listen up. Just because you disagree with someone
else's advice do NOT mean you get to attack them. You can
disagree POLITELY, or you can keep your opinion entirely to
yourself, but you may not attack one another or bicker back and
forth like this. Petty sniping at one another has been
deleted. Don't start it again, please and thank you.

Level 1 prize - random drawing. If you earn 25 tickets
during August, you get the Level 1 random drawing plus your choice
of prize from Levels 2 through 5. Any more than 25 tickets don't
count for tankrewards.com; you will still earn the in-game reward
for completing the ticket missions.
