MA77: Saudações, comandantes!   Hoje uma nova fase de teste para o mapa Kharkov começa. Desta vez, vamos tentar uma versão semelhante à anterior, mas nesta versão removemos vários problemas. Pretendemos nos livrar das batalhas rápidas por dois motivos: para que todos os tipos de veículos tenham a oportunidade de participar e para que a jogabilidade nas áreas abertas seja mais apropriada para tanques leves e médios.     1. A praça central agora tem menos entradas (e menos saídas). Existem duas passagens de que você pode entrar e sair (marcadas com verde no minimapa) e outras duas de sentido único (marcadas com vermelho, só podem entrar através delas, não sair). É muito mais fácil agora controlar as saídas da praça, e isso deve diminuir as possibilidades de flanqueamento inesperado atrás das linhas (mesmo que uma das equipes ignore completamente essa parte do mapa). 2. Os blocos urbanos no centro da cidade não mudaram. É esta área particular da qual Kharkov obtém sua principal característica: combates curtos. Vamos tentar manter esses blocos como estavam na versão original do mapa. 3. Blocos urbanos próximos às bases têm menos edifícios e montes de detritos. Eles fizeram essa área parecer um labirinto e dificultou a movimentação dos veículos. 4. Os arredores da cidade agora têm várias posições de cobertura em cada lado, o que permite controlar a área aberta do mapa ou detectar os veículos nele. A partir dessa posição, eles também podem apoiar seus aliados concentrados no combate urbano. 5. A parte aberta do mapa agora oferece mais cobertura e posições-chave. Essas mudanças devem ajudar os tanques leves e médios a usar essa área para flanquear movimentos ou se infiltrar na base inimiga. Gnomon:   All good questions!    I actually have a contraption that hangs the megaphone (big cone cheerleader one) in front of my face from a hat. I have the speaker button held down with zebra-print duck tape so that it's always on. Always.    And a twirling sign! But it can only pick-up enough speed to rotate once per minute. I'm basically a yelling clock.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about the game, and critical feedback can only help to lead to improvements   However, a fair majority of these posts devolve into forum violation after forum violation. People begin to attack each other, stat shame, go off-topic, and so on. When that happens, the thread is locked or closed and the people who broke the rules are warned/sanctioned. Since this forum currently has 11,179,211 Posts as of my reply here, 1,000s of them could easily be "WoT sucks" posts that violated the rules and were removed while even more that say the same go untouched, since no one broke the rules. Just by the large volume of posts this forum, it's bound that many of them are sanctioned for rules violations and not the idea behind the content.    tl;dr We don't remove posts for criticizing the game. We remove posts that violate the rules, and criticizing the game is not one of them.

Gnomon: Happy Thursday! Hope that you are all having a good morning so far. Today, I’d like to talk about our newest Supertest. We’re commencing a new stage of the Kharkov map test.  If you’re unfamiliar with the previous test, check out Cabbage’s post here: Kharkov
With this test, we’re going to try a version similar to the last one, but we’ve removed some of its drawbacks. We plan to get rid of super-fast battles, to give every class a chance to shine, and to increase the playability of the open space by making it more suitable for mobile light and medium tanks.
So, what does the new version of the map look like? Well, I’ve got you covered!  The central square now has fewer entrances and even fewer exits. There’s a couple of two-way passages (marked in green on the minimap below) as well as two one-way access points (marked in red; you can only drive in through these, not out). It’s now much easier to control the square’s exits, and we believe this should decrease the amount of unexpected flanking and breakthroughs behind the lines (even if one of the teams has completely ignored this corner of the map). The central city blocks haven’t changed. This particular part of the map is what creates Kharkov’s signature gameplay: close quarters combat that can unfold in a myriad of ways. Also, we’ll try to keep the central city blocks as they were on the previous release version of the map. The city blocks near the bases have lost many of buildings and piles of rubble. We thought they were making this zone too much like a maze as well as impeding tank movement. Due to this, we decided that they needed a change or two.  The outskirts of the city have received several covered positions on each side, allowing players to light up the open part of the map for their team. From here you’ll also be able to support your friendlies engaged in city warfare. The open part of the map now offers more cover and more important positions. The changes made should help light tanks and mobile mediums to use this zone for flanking moves or for speeding into the enemy base. We’ve also added some bushes that you may want to use for spotting or firing positions. Although, they are rather risky positions because the enemy team is going to be fairly close to you here.  Screenshots           Depending on test results we’ll decide on which revision of Kharkov is the best.  Let us know what you think!  Be sure to follow the news, and best of luck in battle!

So you probably noticed it's not Monday. Sorry about that, tournaments have been running me ragged. Better late than never though, right? This week's map is Paris. Fire up the video below, and journey through the streets of War-Torn Paris while diving into the guide.So, I know Paris definitely isn't most players' favorite map, but it's actually pretty straightforward. There are some common pitfalls that should be avoided, and aggressive plays tend to make or break the tide of battle on this map rather quickly. High Risk, High Reward is the name of the game here. Lightly armored TD's and LT's may struggle to make a huge difference if they don't commit to potentially losing some aggressive early-game plays. What that play ends up being may vary based on the enemy team composition, but hopefully this guide will help you come up with some creative solutions. MAP GUIDETHE SOUTH FLANKThis is where most of your heavies will typically go. There is a point I wanted to mention (shoutout to Cajun_ for the tip!) And that's not represented on my minimap above. You'll see the three green heavy squares in the South; if you have the mobility, decent gun depression, and a strong turret, you can push up under the bridge, and play the little shaded area around the southernmost corner of the buildings. This will allow you to stay hulldown and put pressure on heavies spawning in the East that are trying to maintain a hull-down position as well. This map is all about playing corners, and playing them well. There are few positions that allow you a lot of cover, so trade carefully and avoid losing large amounts of HP early on. 
If you spawn in the East, you'll either want to rush down into the same area and play the corner, or hull-down above. Another option is to push further South around the buildings and trade with tanks up on the bridge.EXPAND    THE MIDDLE FLANKThis flank is a risky one, but that's where those aggressive plays come in. LT's with a good camo rating and view range can push up one of these main roads and spot heavies that are making their way down to the South. If your allies are paying attention, you can get some devastating early-game hits in that will leave your heavies sitting pretty on a nice HP advantage before starting their brawl. TD's can set up here early to support the spotters, and land some of those heavy hits. If you track an enemy on the cross, it's possible to take them out completely. If the opportunity presents itself, LT's can also rush up the middle and grab a perch in the center plaza. A little more on that later.EXPAND  THE NORTH FLANKThis flank can be one of the most frustrating to play. A common pitfall is over-committing your  TD's to the bushes around the initial corner spawn. It's definitely a possible location to pick, but do so with caution because it's a very common spot, and SPG's will often blind-fire these locations, just like the "Islands" in the North as well. Mediums can poke up and down these islands, or play carefully towards the Southwest and Southeast corners. Utilize hard cover and hull-down positions whenever possible, because if you peek you'll probably be spotted. If the opportunity presents itself you can push up the stairs to the Center Plaza, but be aware of firing angles. 
Another tip from Cajun_, pushing up to the enemy island early on is a pretty solid play for LT's; you can keep the island proxy spotted, and you should have the view range to negate the camo rating + bonus from bushes around the corner for lurking TD's. Pushing out to move you out of this location might be difficult if the enemy team doesn't have control of the center plaza.

I'm more than happy to go over the details here, but be sure to check out our article on it - Global Map: Season 9 First, Season 9 on the Global Map is from July 17 until August 27. If you are not familiar with the Global Map, is a great way for Clans to compete with other members of the community while earning valuable resources. Due to this, the leaderboard for Season 9 will only display Gold earned this season. Each time you earn Gold from the Global Map in your Clan vault (which can be done by completing missions or owning/taking resources) increases your Clan's standing.  The rules are pretty simple, the Clan that earns the most Gold wins!  The rewards for Clan members will depend on the Clan's position on the leaderboard. We’ll also be testing a new mechanic that can maximize a Clan’s earning potential. Playing FieldThe Tier X front (for Tier 10-8 tanks) will include 128 provinces. Either that T25/2's mantlet is a portal to another dimension, or I must have fired a cotton wad at it.

A lot of us already know about ghost shells, and they have become ever-more common since 1.0, to the point of annoyance or of critical, game-changing shots being total busts.

But when will Wargaming ever do something about this widespread issue?
You know this is one of many problems in the game right now but why do you do nothing about it!?

KRZYBooP:     Doing my best to line up the same shot in Tanks.gg its possible that shell normilization took affect. Now that one spot wasn't easy to find but considering that you shot was traveling upward-ish from a distance and hit the upper part of the mantlet a ricochet/ bounce is very well what happened and not a ghost shell.

CabbageMechanic: In my experience (having reviewed several hundred replays/videos of ghost shells), they are caused by packet loss misrepresenting a tank position 100% of the time.  Packet loss can occur without an extreme ping jump, and unfortunately, anything online is going to occasionally have some burbles caused by imperfect information transmission.  

Although there was the one guy who managed to shoot between the hull and gun shield of a WT Pz. IV back in the day, that was quite the thing to see.

Gnomon: They are correct! It doesn't have to be consecutive, you just have to earn 30 Points in total during the event. Once you brother has 5 Points, he will get the Medal.

Gnomon: You can mix-and-match. If you complete the North Direction today, you can complete the South or North Direction the next day. Your previous day's Direction choice has no impact on the next day's. Hopefully, that makes sense :hiding:

Gnomon:  Unfortunately, you will not be able to use the Tiger 131 for the South Direction on missions. The Tiger 131 is a singular vehicle that was captured in Tunisia and was never at Kursk.

Gnomon: If you miss a day, you will not be able to make it up. The event lasts for 50 days, so you would have to complete the missions each day to earn the total of 50 Points to get the rewards from the final stage.  Also, I will be sure to pass along your suggestion about a way to buy singular points to our teams in my feedback report!  ​

Gnomon: Where you able to earn progress on your mission after you posted this? Since you replied on the 7th, I believe that was the day you had to block X amount of damage. If you're ever seeing an issue where you are not earning progress towards your mission, please contact Customer Support so they can look into things and see if there is an issue: Wargaming Customer Support  ​ ​

KRZYBooP:   Not blaming anything. Just recommending support to try and resolve the issue.   My first glance makes me think it's internet related but issues like this have many rabbit holes to dive down.  Server issues are usually more widespread.    If there is an issue everyone should fill out a support ticket so our team can investigate.

Teams are allowed to bring a maximum of 7 tanks totaling 56 tier points and a minimum of 56. Standard mode on Paris There will be 3 minute staging breaks between battles No tie breakers 3 points for victory, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for defeat. You are allowed to registered an 8th reserve, however if you win a prize it will be split between the 8 of you. Teams will be broken up into Battle Groups of 15 7/42 Format (Min tier 42)Tier VI only 2 battles against each team Round Robin  Battles will last 8 minutes max. Teams are allowed to bring a maximum of 7 tanks totaling 42 tier points and a minimum of 42. Just a quick announcement regarding Map Mondays. I know I have been a bit hit or miss recently with getting the weekly guides posted. Some urgent stuff came up last minute that requires my attention, and I won't be able to dedicate the amount of time I need in order to put out a quality guide today.

DomoSapien: I also noticed the dot next to your ping is red virtually the entire time. That dot signifies packet loss, which isn't the same thing as ping. Your ping is fine but you seem to be experiencing some pretty substantial packet loss, which might be preventing you from receiving the packets from the server that show the enemy's position.

Game files, replays, and hardware config are needed in order to investigate the issue.    If others are experiencing the same issue then please supply support with your files. I know I have never seen anything like that happen to me in my games.

MA77: Oi Vapor,   Acredito que você tenha cometido um engano, pois não existem tanques premium de nível IX e X. Todos deste nível são "Tanques Especiais" ou "Tanque de Recompensa", como você pode ver na Tanquepedia.   Na sua opinião, há algo que possamos fazer para melhorar isto?

Gnomon:   Hi! Thanks for asking!   And sorry for the delay, I wanted to check with our teams on this and timezones are evil. It looks like the reward screen is currently showing the maximum camo value for that style.    The style does provide a +4% bonus for TDs, +3% for MTs and LTs, and 2% for SPGs and HTs.    Once the camo is rewarded, it will properly show you the correct concealment bonus relative to the tank's type.
