View PostTjtod, on Dec 04 2017 - 19:18, said: the Army-Navy game in the US is played between the academies, USMA vs USNA. Army just broke a 14 year losing streak last year.

The_Chieftain:   The problem is that American Football is a sport in which sheer physical mass has a significant advantage, and all three major military academies have height/weight standards for entry. This immediately puts them at a disadvantage compared to non-service teams. The Army has an additional problem.   For example, the Air Force won't let anyone into the Academy at 6'4" who weighs more than 221lbs. For comparison, I'm 6'5 and 215. (And getting a little pudgy, I'm trying to lose a couple of inches). Compare with my local team, U-California Bears, their offensive linesman shows as 6'4" and 310lbs. Bears' full team list with height/weight is listed here. http://www.calbears....x?path=football   The Army's problem is that they don't relax the standards for their cadets. A cadet must meet Army standards for height/weight at all times, from admission until they leave the Army. For a 6'4" 20-year-old, the official maxium is 212lbs. There is a taping policy for folks to try to better represent BMI if they exceed that standard, but as a rule of thumb, weight must be kept down.   Air force and Navy waive the standards for their athletes. Once in the academy, football players pour on the pounds. But the standards still exist for graduation. As a result, Navy players will lose over 60lbs in the six months or so between the Army-Navy game and graduation. It's not exactly good or pleasant, but it does give the Navy a very distinct line-up advantage in the Army-Navy game, and thus is a very significant reason why they win so much.

View PostMacras, on Dec 04 2017 - 00:34, said: OK, I'm still having problems. I cant see a solution on the previous few pages of posts, so,,,
I finally managed (with a lot of help) to get my account transferred, and have received the confirmation email saying it has been done ( the transfer) and that I need to follow a link to reset my password on SEA. (emails I didn't receive, emails going straight to junk mail, links in emails that didn't work, or did work and yet still didn't get the next follow up email to start the transfer, 'nuff said.)
That link works, however, when I click the reset password tab, the email it generates is taking too long to get to my inbox, so when I try and use the link in that email, I get an error message saying it has expired and to try again.
I have tried 4-5 times now with the same outcome. There is also a manual link attached in that email that I have tried to cut and paste into my browser window but this wont work for me either. Its taking probably 2-3 minutes for the emails to get to my inbox?.
Anyone else getting this and have a solution?
( its also being sent to the wrong email address, not sure if that makes a difference, I had to use a second email as I already had a test account on SEA, the password reset link is going to my original email)
Thanks all, hopefully I'm not far away from being able to play again after 2 months off.

Then I got the email with further instruction to complete the transfer (with link and password) but this to be done by Dec 3. So on night of Dec 2 I tried to complete the process but there was no system acknowledgement. After trying awhile, I got concerned and put in a support ticket for further advice with screenshots.

"WG reply is BEST reply" ... They're telling me I can't complete because I'm past due the initial application. Especially with the screenshots I'm getting the idea support staff can't read or it wasn't looked at by a person. So I thought maybe its just one person. Putting my case to WoT NA facebook ... SAME DAMN RESPONSE! Either way I'm pissed at the treatment.

One is the discontinuation of Tournaments. Particularly the Weekday warfare and similar tourneys that gave players a good chance to win some gold, even if they were not unicum level players. The other is the discontinuation of frequent discounts. A couple of years ago you guys would have some kind of discount incentive every weekend. This year, we went months without an equipment discount, months without a consumables sale.   Those two things seem like easy fixes to me. I don't expect you to fix the lack of maps or the MM issues :)   Thanks and welcome again!

PollotheDestroyer: It would be something that has to be discussed, I sadly do not have any info to give for future plans at this moment.

Take, for example, the now infamous "Marathon Day 19", where there were so many forum threads asking for clarification, and simply voicing complaints, yet it took over 24 hours (past the deadline of the actual daily mission) before anyone official actually responded. This is unacceptable in a live, dynamic, daily online gaming platform, and made so many people upset. It wasn't even the failure on WG's part to get things right the first time, it was the fact that nobody responded to the hordes of people asking questions.   IMO, this is one of the biggest downfalls of the game right now; staff either isn't willing to address the public regarding problems, or isn't allowed to. If it's the former, then they should be replaced with people willing to do the job correctly. If it's the latter, then we should simply stop pretending WarGaming is worth spending money on.   x.

PollotheDestroyer: If an issue arises I will escalate it asap and we will try to get a response out the best we can. There are a lot of moving parts when something goes wrong and getting the correct information is of the utmost importance,

CabbageMechanic: We are still testing the Object 263 line changes and have made some significant alterations to the previous plan.  Check it:

The SU100M1 and SU-101 will now keep their places with some significant rebalances to make them more comfortable to play:

After testing of last month's changes, we are moving now towards removing the SU-122-53 altogether.  The Object 263 is really testing well at its new position in Tier IX, more powerful and comfortable to play than before:

We hear your concerns about the replacement at the top of this tree, but we think the Object 268 Version 4 is turning out well.  It has performed excellently in testing and we think it will end up being worthy of the spot:

These stats are still not finalized, and testing is ongoing.  Stay tuned!

We don't want to go through hoops to win one or suffer overpriced bundles to attain a premium US TD that does not even reflect the crew load outs of our higher tier tech tree TD's.   I swear this issue is going to be the end of me and WoT if it is not brought to fruition.

PollotheDestroyer: My favorite tank of all time is the FCM 50t or non-premium the ARL 44. As to why, I started out with the French line without knowing anything about Tanks and just sort of stuck with it (also the FCM was my first premium tank).    As for my least favorite? I am not a fan of the early Chinese line (back when it was only a single line). The grind to get beyond Tiers 2-5 just made me not want to try.

View Post_DangerNoodle, on Dec 01 2017 - 11:01, said: How long have you been playing tanks? What is your background? Do you plan to implement any changes? Will you be involved in bringing tournaments back?

PollotheDestroyer: I had originally found out about World of Tanks due to Reddit and downloaded and play a couple of matches in 2012 and was on and off with it. I didn't get seriously into WoT until I started working for Wargaming, even though I'm not that good as you can see with my Winrate. I can't promise changes so I'll be upfront and say for now any plans for change come through Cabbage.

CabbageMechanic:   We do, but there are some restrictions and limitations on how and when - I had to wait awhile for my Type 59.  Our more avid tanks players get the new releases for free usually a week or so early, for some live server testing and as a teaser.  You might have caught me out and about in the T92 this week - it's a fun little tank!

Leave your in-game name and any information about yourself (e.g: play-style, what you're looking to grind, favorite types of cheese)  and make new allies!

I'd also like to take this opportunity to welcome Pollothedestroyer to the team!  Pollo is a seasoned Wargamer who has recently joined the World of Tanks Community Team full time.  Feel free to drop into his introduction thread to say hello or ask him a question.  He's brushing up on his tanking and will also be accepting platoon invites from players throughout the day - pick him up for a few games and help him shake off the rust!

Happy Tanking!

Normally Staff introductions have an FAQ in where we fill out answers to questions that have been asked by the community in the past but, I wanted to do this a little differently. It would be much more fun to do a living sort of AMA today and answer questions that you have. So open floor and I'll try to answer what I can. Thanks,Pollothedestroyer.

The_Chieftain: Yeah, I think DerViktim must have overlooked something.   The 75 was substantially lighter, a much better fit inside the small turret of the M4, and had a higher rate of fire and a better HE round. The 3" was worse in all those criteria, but had a substantially better armor-penetration capability.
