Regardless of opinions, blowouts are intrinsic to single life/no respawn games. Balance anything and everything you've ever dreamed of, they'll still be blowouts. 
Imagine hockey match. Every time a team scores, the opposing team loses a player. What's the expected outcome after the first team scores?

  I'd actually recommend playing it again. Slap on a turbo and try to be creative with positioning. And you can really bully anyone who doesn't know about the mantlet weakspot or who isn't carrying any high pen rounds/their high pen rounds are HEAT. And using creative positioning and being more aggressive lets you lower their chance of hitting it anyways

No they say that the points will be reset, I think they have them so high because the tank isn't ready and not available in game.

For future reference, I suggest installing the BattleHits mod, and looking at what it shows happened in a ricochet or other non penetrating hit you have questions about. At least 9 out of 10 times, that will probably explain what actually happened, usually some fluke of hitting a small area of thicker armor or weird angle.
