From what I recall Moscow was a blast (minus the games of course).

_Goliard, on Sep 10 2012 - 05:16, said: Dear Vallter, thank you for responding to me question regarding the T-127's match maker.
I tried to play a few games in my T-127 on the public test server, to give you guys some data to analyse and work with.
Well, to be honest, there's a small problem with that.
Nobody plays anything below tier 5 on the test server, and I haven't managed to get a single game in my T-127 going. Or my B1, for that matter.
All in all, I doubt the public test server will help you evaluate this tank, if only for the simply reason nobody bothers playing it.
AcesHighMDP, on Sep 10 2012 - 15:48, said: Hi Vallter, one question: on the Panzer IV with Ausf H turret, the stand-off armour on the side of the turret has 2 doors which were obviously closed during combat operations in real life, why are they open in the in-game model ?.This negates any benefit from the extra armour, since those openings are very easy to hit from any angle.

In the tanks that have spare tracks lines in the front/sides(which was used to marginally improve armor there as well as carrying it) are they taken into account for the armor group on that part as they should?(tracks ARE quite thick, they would work as layered armor of sorts), or their thickness is added to the value of the armor behind them?.
you can see they easily add 20+mm(or more in bigger fatter tanks) to the armor which is VERY welcome.
Examples of such:
the pz 4 H listed above
the IS4 lower plate

I sold my M4A2E4 a long time ago, because it kind of sucked when it was constantly getting put in matches with Tier 8s, since it was slow compared to the regular M4, and was painfully short on penetration. However, with the MM changes in 7.5 I'm thinking of grabbing a Tier 5 premium for fun and profit, and the M4A2E4 caught my eye on the wiki. It'd be nice to also be able to flex my beta tester epeen in game again.
So is there ever any chance of me being able to re-buy this tank? Or am I S.O.L.?

1) the RBT-5, will the main turret gun be usable or is it locked out like the hull gun in the B1(will the B1 hull gun be unlocked in the 8.0?)
2) a diagram of tank icons has recently surfaced showing something called a "German-Agrimotor" a tank tractor, but not fully tracked, is this legit? (and if so, can we expect more non-fully tracked vehicles)?
3) will there be an expanded permanent Chinese tech tree made available to the NA server?
4)the European-Italian tech tree sounds like a rumored tech tree to be developed sometime in the future, will there be a Middle Eastern-Indo-Pakistani tree released or are there too few tanks for such a possibility? (perhaps premium gift tank releases like a Vijayanta [Indian altered version of the Vickers. Mk 1])?

3. Why are the Chruchill and T-14 given preferential matchmaking, whereby they only see a max tier 6 battles, when the T-25 will see tier 7 and will the T-25 be changed? Like its tier 5 heavy peers, will the matchmaking be changed so the T-25 only sees tier 6?

Vallter: T-127 and B-1 will be tuned on the main server during the whole
8.0. If the change won't be enough, we will make another one in
8.1. This Public Test has a mess instead of statistics due to
physics and other changes. Thus we will probably need to make
balancing basing on 8.0 statistics in 8.1. I predict that either
8.1 or 8.2 will have many balance changes.

Vallter: Per data we've gathered they were used in battle in both variants -
open and closed. Because closed variant blocked the way out for the
crew from the side 'door' of the turret. But this is taken into
consideration in collision model. Near the doors the thickness of
stand-off armor is doubled, as if the doors were just behind them.

the collision model. Probably, when we introduce them as equipment,
which will be available to be mounted on different vehicles (there
are such ideas), they will give a real bonus.

they have in 8.0. If they have permanent premium camo patter, gold
will be returned to their account. If they will have credit
pattern, they will be compensated with appropriate amount of
credits according to the 'life-term' of the camouflage.

The main possibility to earn XP on a TD is to deal damage. I would
suggest you to learn better spots, where you will be able to snipe
enemies easily.

1) Will the physics update of 8.0 include control of secondary large guns on tanks or will this be made available in another release? (ex: B1 hull gun or Somua turret gun)
2) In the British tech tree release can we expect British India crew (or other British Commonwealth crew)?
3) Will the 8.0 update include voice overs for crew of nationalities other then the current one (accents, Russian, French, etc.)?
4) Will there ever be a stable premium tank for China made available to buy with gold rather than from the gift-store? (a small premium detachment tank force/incomplete tech tree of Chinese tanks available to the NA server)
5) Will there be a tech tree other than the European tech tree (not sure of the official name) which could include premium tanks from other countries (such as the Vijayanta, [Vickers Mk.1] of India)? Or a tech tree for South East Asia and Middle East (an Eastern countries version of the European tech tree)?

5) Will there be a tech tree other than the European tech tree (not sure of the official name) which could include premium tanks from other countries (such as the Vijayanta, [Vickers Mk.1] of India)? Or a tech tree for South East Asia and Middle East (an Eastern countries version of the European tech tree)?
Vallter: 1)No, two features you talk about are quite different. Physics will
give tanks a realistic way of movement. While the second gun will
be enabled only with multiturret support. We had some technical
limitations in implementing it. But now our Big World team will be
able to fix this after completing some tasks with higher
priority.
2)There are no current plans to implement such crews, but if we receive enough community feedback on that, then we will think about it.
3)No, this is planned to be implemented, but not in the 8.0 update.
4)We will probably add such tank
5)It's hard to say for now. Before the European Tech Tree we have lots of plans that still should be implemented. Afterwards we will think about it. Currently we have lots of ideas on Premium tanks, including some vehicles from Latin America. But their impementation has low priority.

First, will we ever get test servers located in the US?
And if not, why?
If anyone can like to some answers, it'd be greatly appreciated.
Vallter: Test server is situated in Munchen. This is compromise between all
servers and we currently do not plan to change it's location.
Chaos8034, on Sep 09 2012 - 18:45, said: I have a question for WG, Do you know what a queue is? Do you know what it's purpose is? Did you know that the 8.0 test server's queue doesn't work at all?
Vallter: We had some issues with queue in the first iteration of the Public
Test. With next version things have improved.
casadint, on Sep 09 2012 - 20:47, said: Question Number 1: I understand in 8.0 the PZIV will have it's best gun reduced for a ..... The question is, why remove a historically accurate gun?
Question Number 2: I understand nerfs are constantly happening to tank destroyers, particularly their guns, I.E. Marder II. Why was the historically accurate PAK 40 not upgraded in damage? Tank destroyers are meant to be the unbalanced tank, such as SPGs.
Question Number 3: There is no balance, no fairness and no allowance in War. If you plan on remaining historically accurate, why change the setup of tanks, TD and Arty? I.E. Marder II, PZIV, SU-85 and etc. The majority of people that argue about the unfairness don't care about the historical facts, however, these facts allow this game to stand differently from others. Why not just add more tanks, TDs and arty from the same era, however, delve into more prototypes and blueprint models.
Vallter: 1)First of all, because with this gun tank is overperforming.
Moreover, this is a 'historically accurate gun' only for one of
tank modifications and not for the tank itself. It will be reserved
to Pz IV Schmalturm Tier 6 tank.
2)Marder II will be buffed in 8.0, If I remember right.
3)We try to stick to the historical accuracy, but it's in many times not possible due to in-game balance needs. Thus we have historically accurate models and oftenly modules, but vehicle characteristics differ from it. For example, Tiger (P) engine could break 'in field' easily because of very sensitive engine. This is discarded in the game to save the balance.

TDK_Truth, on Sep 09 2012 - 21:26, said: Do you plan to remove the sell limit on tanks?
Vallter: No, this is part of protection of your accounts against hacking.
Violator won't be able to sell all your tanks, thus we will be able
to reimburse you easily.
husband, on Sep 09 2012 - 21:29, said: Will future patches, now that physics is being fine tuned, include destructible/weight limitations to bridges?
Vallter: There are no such plans for now, because this may damage in-game
balance and severely hit German vehicles.
jimmystickrules, on Sep 09 2012 - 22:30, said: If I sign up for the 8.0 test server do you keep the free xp and credits after the patch is active?
Thanks
Vallter: No, this is an exclusive addition on the test server, which is
granted to player to give them possibility to test all new vehicles
and features.

We have a screw up with the scheduling 3 matches into the tournament. Now I'm not sure how you guys run your tournaments back-end wise but I can only assume its some sort of an automated system that launches the battles, so if thats true that means that something got glitched. If its a person launching these battles than it was just a mistake by that person. Once the posts started rolling in about the battles not being in the right time we received a 2 word answer of and I quote "Fixed it" from General Direction which is, it seems, a standard WG answer to a big problem. Barely an acknowledgment of the problem and a 2-3 word response that we shouldn't worry about it anymore. Now I can understand that dealing with tourney problems may not exactly be GD's job description but a simple answer of something like "postponed until our E-Sports manager gets back from moscow" would have been perfect. Instead we were assured the problem (whatever it was) was fixed when 4 days later it clearly was not at all. And finally there was absolutely no warning that the battles on sunday would still be screwed up. We didn't hear anything until you got back and said "herp derp I was out of contact, what happened?" (not trying to be a dick here LF it was just comical when you poked your head up yesterday and asked what happened).
Now its fantastic that you're hiring another E-sports person dedicated to this stuff and hopefully this means these issues will be few and far between from now on, but can you understand where these things can be made into an even bigger issue when there is no information coming from the dev team over what blew up?

GeneralDirection: Actually, if you go back to the exact same page I said "fixed it"
on, I responded in more detail after asked what I meant by that. So
it wasn't simply a two-word response with nothing else.

Now its fantastic that you're hiring another E-sports person dedicated to this stuff and hopefully this means these issues will be few and far between from now on, but can you understand where these things can be made into an even bigger issue when there is no information coming from the dev team over what blew up?

We didn't hear anything until you got back and said "herp derp I was out of contact, what happened?" GeneralDirection: Actually, if you go back to the exact same page I said "fixed it"
on, I responded in more detail after asked what I meant by that. So
it wasn't simply a two-word response with nothing else.

Also, does this mean that you are now in control of the design your own tournament contest?

Awesome, I think the NA staff could do a good job with NA events. If we could do something similar to what the Russians do, with constant tournaments..the game could really explode here - with 8.0 and all. I might suggest meeting with the WG Germany staff, they really seem ontop of things more so than any other WG officials I had contact with save for Pavel and the NA guys of course.
