problem. People got the impression that the IS-3's roof would be
bouncing rounds left, right and center. People also have the
impression that a lot of IS-3 damage comes from the roof in the
first place. Heck, surveys say that only a small portion of players
(And I am talking single-digit percentages here) even understand
the overmatch mechanic as it currently exists, and presumably thus
know how to use it. So, if you want to look at IS-3, you
have a small portion of the playerbase who know to shoot a small
portion of their shots at a small portion of the vehicle, which
would, after the remake of the mechanics, ricochet only a
portion of those shots instead of none of them. This isn't
really a 'major' benefit. Is it a buff? Sure. Want a nerf? That
122mm no longer automatically overmatches things which the 120
wouldn't. So there's a trade right off the bat. As this
topic is being considered, I would ask that assuming the new
mechanics do indeed come back into the limelight with more
information, players forget what they think they know about
them, and start from scratch without pre-conceptions.

The_Chieftain: They weren't thinking about making 1mm of armor bounce anything.
The system was bugged in implementation, it was never supposed to
happen like that. (The bug was fixed towards the end of last week,
but nobody noticed: Everybody had their opinions by then, and were
sticking to it) It's worth noting that this mechanics change
originated in the balance department, not some other part of the
developer organisation. The idea that the balance department was
not considering the effects on vehicle balance of this new system
is silly. They generally know what they're doing. For those that
understand the full nature of the changes, we think it's a great
idea, the problem, as I see it, is that we didn't properly
communicate them to the playerbase at large, giving a little
information, and then a bugged system to extrapolate from. That
there was a glitch in the system taking up 'testing time' didn't
help either. So, if/when we set about bringing the system back,
(which currently has a tentative date), we'll do so a little more
'gently' and with a bit better education.

you create a World of Tanks themed ornament for our tree! So
sit down get some Hot chocolate and the drawing board to design an
ornament to sent to us to help us decorate out tree and possibly
win a prize! Please, put your best effort into your
ornaments. If you want it to be considered for the contest or
simply placed on our tree, make it count.
Paper cutouts probably won't make it onto the tree.
Well, unless it is some awesome paper craft.

ammunition is stored. It takes the loaders longer to walk half the

has two ways to register for the Platournaments! When you
create the team, make sure that you are using the correct

A complete team has 3 - 4 players. Captains do not need to submit
their team; all teams with the minimum number of players will be
accepted. The team is now ready to fight once the tournament
starts! Register as a Solo player or as part of
a Party! A party is a group of players that does not meet the
minimum team size requirements. Create a team. Teams do not need to
be confirmed; all players will be accepted for the Solo/Party
Registration. Once registration has closed, the player will be

due to the recent tightening of the "assault weapons" law, any
rifles I own by the end of this year can be legally converted back
into "free America" configuration. The lines at my local
purveyor of fine firearms are hideous. The AK is just because it's
iconic. I am considering buying a few AR lowers, though if they are
all sold out, I won't lose too much sleep. We have already
figured out a set of modifications for 2017 evil black rifles.
Good to hear that Operation Shekels to Razvan bore fruit.

have skipped a couple of pay grades and emailed Cyprus
direct (Not normal for me, but I feel strongly enough about
it). Am pleased to have received a response confirming
that removal of the mechanic from this patch was not to be taken as
a cancellation of the concept. Apparently the EU post
suffered an error in translation somewhere when it said "canceled".
I expect we'll see it again soon enough. Started the
paperwork on an AK74.

know guys that I've notified the team about this thread so sooner

can all be on the same page. Right now, we're pretty much
interested in those players that has been banned. If you know these
players, please tell them to submit a ticket to our Customer
Support Team and if possible, can you please PM the ticket numbers
to me so we can communicate with our Customer Support Team about
it. Just a reminder though, while we understand that most of
you are very frustrated about the topic, still please make sure to
follow our Forum Rules and avoid making unnecessary comment

told the players what was supposed to happen, and why IS3/140s and

specific list may prove to be more confusing because some mods may

The_Chieftain: Apparently the new overmatch mechanics have been removed from this
patch. Which is disappointing, because I really think they were an
improvement. We'll see for 9.18 or whatever comes next. No word on

I just completed placing the bans myself, and there were 252
of them. For this first round, we deliberately were very careful.
We set the detection criteria extremely strict - meaning we
would detect fewer people but the ones detected we were sure they
were using illegal mods. We have less strict sets of criteria, and
could have set it such that we detected far more people, but then
there would have been the possibility of false positives. We
plan to run the detection criteria regularly, and continue updating
our detection methods and algorithms. We expect to complete another
ban wave before the end of the year, so people who continue to use
these programs will receive consequences. We knew that we wouldn't
get everyone on the first pass, but will continue to work towards
fair play for everyone.
