MakersMike, on Jul 11 2019 - 23:48, said: Wow just noticed this. Things were starting to turn around
and then you start a Scavenger Hunt and don't bother to post it on
the World of Tanks website?? I made it a point to check the
July preview and then check the website again on the 1st.
Then a couple days later I checked again, and have continued to
check the website. I see here that it was posted in forums on
July 3rd, and I'm usually pretty active on forums but wanted a
little break from the "noise". I thought the one place that
would obviously post the news of the Scavenger Hunt being back
would be the games own website where we are told to check for News
and Missions., And the reason I checked the
website is because on May 1, you had a post "The Scavenger Hunt is
Back in May!" including a breakdown of the entire mission,
prizes and dates. If I missed a post for July Scavenger Hunt
on the website, please let me know and I've no one to blame but
myself. But I can't find it still. And if
it were a monthly mission that you had all month to finish, that
would possibly be more acceptable. But when you have a
mission like this that relies on 2 day window or you miss out
on the big bonus at the end it is unacceptable that a game would
not post it on the very website they have designed for that.
Given the history of the screw ups with this very mission, you
would think they'd put forth the effort to make sure everyone knew
of it. As Bruce "The Boss" Springsteen would
say, One Step Up and Two Steps Back.

I mean, that's assuming that the decision not to publish the article was unintentional. It wasn't an oversight, there is a method to the madness.
The May Scavenger Hunt article was by far one of the lowest-performing articles on the Content Portal in May. This impacted the content team's performance metrics, and they weren't super happy with me about that.
I am of the opinion that it's necessary to have a Content Article posted about it regardless, because it spreads awareness about the Scavenger Hunt and offers a centralized "Hub" for players who aren't avid forumgoers, Redditors, or members of our WoT NA Community Discord to reference for the Scavenger Hunt schedule. So, I decided no to publish an article this month as a control group - and I suspect that this month's participation will be a bit lower as a result.
If my theory is correct, next SH I will have data to justify taking time out of the content schedule to publish an article for my event, and update it regularly.

track, the thing is still mobile. In theory, you could put a very
large turret ring in the gap between the tracks, allowing for a
larger turret with bigger gun." - Cheiftan With respects to
how it looks compared to its performance in game. "It just looks
cool,"; gives a very big target to hit on the side where there
would be a track that could have absorbed the damage. Probably why
the complexity wasn't worth it in the long run and wasn't used

1984BigBrother: Tankers, I have gotten a ton of questions on this
rule: https://worldoftanks.com/en/content/fire-trail-regulations/ 13.1.3.
Awards and Conditions for Receiving
Them Specifically: "Fight at least 5 battles within
the Fire Trail event for the clan following the last application to
this particular clan." This rule applies only to individual
player rewards, not the Clans eligibility: A player played 1-4
battles - no Clan prizes (other in Clan that meet the requirements
get rewards) A player played 5+ battles for clan A and remains
in the Clan until the end of the event - prizes which provided
by Clan A (regardless of other players in clans
eligibility) A player played any number of battles for A then
switched to B and played 1-4 battles - no clan prizes (does not
affect other players in Clans A or B) A player switched
from A to B and plays 5+ battles and remains in Clan
B until the end of the event - prizes from B I hope
this clears things up, Big

parameter for them, the more armored they get, the better they get
their cannons to point out at the same direction, I imagine the
VT1-1 being kind of similar as how the Badger behaves, second line
TD but with assault properties as well, though using mostly the
single cannon due to the same fact of being separated on each side
of the hull.

Subject: What Tier 7 Worth Keeping?
Link on message: #12189742
Link on message: #12189742
Einzelganger7: Well, I only play the German tech tree but I can say that almost
all braches I've played (E-100, E-50M, Jpz E-100, and Grille 15)
have really good tier sevens that I kept in fact, those being
Jagdpanther, Panther, and Tiger I. The first has a good cannon
because the reload speed is nice and decent damage, also the
mobility is nice, it is my most played tank in fact. Second the
Panther, it is hard to use for most since the damage per shot is
lackluster as well as the armor but it is a really nice support
tank that rarely needs premium ammo for the above average pen (of
198mm) among other tier seven tanks, also the reload speed is 3.3
seconds so regardless of the nibbles it does per shot, it can
quickly stack up damage and out DPM most tier seven tanks, even
tier eight mid and heavy tanks. Finally the Tiger I, yes I know the
typical "it has terrible armor so it is one of the worst heavies"
but where it shines is on the cannon (Kw.K 43 L/71), it is a
pleasure to easily pen tier seven with it because it has really
good 203mm of pen at tier seven, which is really good for the tier,
also the reload speed is awesome so it needs to be played as second
line supporting the heavies, but it can also move around the map
since the 40km/h are decent so it can do pseudo mid tank roles as
well by taking flanking positions.
p.s: I know I am not a great player but tier seven is the one I play the most so this is why I think I can give my opinion about it, so I hope it can help. Also the tier seven I didn't mentioned was the Sturer Emil, it has insane cannon but the ammo capacity and mobility are really bad so stay away from it as much as you can.

DomoSapien: I'm hearing mixed reports, so please double check that there is no
human error involved - for reports of issues with the mission,
please try the following:
Make sure you have already earned your daily double (x2 first win bonus) on that vehicle. Play another battle and fulfill the conditions (win the battle) and check your XP totals in the detailed report. There should be a line to the effect of "bonus XP from missions" or something similar in your XP breakdown itself.
I suspect that this is a hidden mission, in which case it doesn't show up in your mission UI but still triggers as long as you fulfill the conditions.
If all else fails, unfortunately your best bet would be to submit a ticket to customer support. (Game and Gameplay > Missions & Specials > Missions > Game Event Missions)

since it has a weird cannon traverse for being on the right side.
But since these VT tanks have no traverse, the cannons are pointing
straight , I'd like to see another angles of them, maybe from above
to see if they are completely parallel or angled slightrly to the
middle, you know, something like this (terrible paint skills, I
know lol).
But if they are angled to the middle, I think they won't suffer that much at mid ranges, they would at close range of course but not as much as if the cannons were completely parallel.

they need to always rotate the whole chassis to traverse the
cannons (just like the Strv TDs), but that P/W ratio of almost 35
makes it clear that it could rotate so fast, I imagine
it would be something like a StuG III G but with no cannon traverse
but higher tank traverse to compensate.
Life_In_Black, on Jul 12 2019 - 13:53, said: The first picture there isn't armed with 120mm cannons (which were

Einzelganger7: So, I just saw that dual-cannon heavy being tested and
supposedly could lead to a new branch of the soviet tech tree, so
if it becomes into an actual thing and gets added to the game,
I think a new German TD branch could be added as well from tier
nine starting right after the Jagdpanther II, then
the Versuchsträger tank destroyers would appear on tier 9 and
X.
Versuchsträger 1-1

Versuchsträger 1-2
Concept:
The VT 1-1 was based on the shortened chassis of the cancelled MBT-70 tank. Since the tank had no autoloaders, a crew of four was needed to operate it. All VT tanks followed in some extent the traditional design of German Jagdpanzers like the post war Kanonenjagdpanzer.
The VT tanks were designed to:-Reach a higher weapon efficiency through short reaction times, higher hit probability and higher kill probability by using twin guns in a casemate structure.
-Be more mobile by using a stronger engine and a new suspension while saving weight through the absence of a turret.
-Have a higher level of survivability by reducing the crew compartment, using heavy frontal armour and a much lower silhouette.
The specs of these tanks are basically the same with the changes being mostly the cannons they use and while there is nothing about how much armor they have, (I've been searching on a lot of sites of German, English and even Spanish language but none has the armor specs) the rest of specs are as follows:
Specifications:
Mass: 43.5 tonnes (42.8 long tons; 48.0 short tons)Length: 9.06 mWidth: 3.54 mHeight: 2.04 mCrew: 3 (commander, driver, gunner)Main armament:2 x 105 mm guns (VT1-1)2 x Rh 120 guns (VT1-2)Engine: MTU MB803 Ra-500 (1,500 PS)Power/weight: 34.5 PS/tSuspension: hydropneumatic (GVT)Speed: 70 kilometres per hour (43 mph) 40 kilometres per hour (25 mph) offroad
Personal opinion:
First of all, I know some of the specs are really on the broken levels if these tank destroyers were introduced with their real life stats, like that top speed for example, also it really bothers me the lack of information on the armor specs but overall if they will introduce the ST-II with dual 122mm cannons I see no reason to not introduce these one as well, which have 105mm and 120mm cannons respectively, also this finally would be the assault TD branch for the German tech tree that they lack since their playstyle would be similar as how the obj 263 and obj 264 v4 are, but also the fact they have cannons with no traverse makes them vulnerable so yes, they might have dual cannons but people could simply track them and even a maus could flank them so I see this as a really big drawback but I'd also like to see them in the game for a fresh playstyle on the German tech tree instead of mostly playing support roles with them.

DomoSapien: So I've received some additional information that I'd like to
share:
All the remaining conditions for blue status will apply, other than team damage since that will no longer be a factor. It will still be possible to turn blue via stuns, overturning allies resulting in their subsequent destruction, drowning allies, pushing allies off of cliffs resulting in their damage or destruction, and crushing allies.
If you choose to drive around in a normal vehicle and harmlessly plink off of your allies, in theory you should not turn blue. However, doing so is considered passive play and may result in sanctions if reported via battle replay.
As I anticipated this topic has generated a substantial amount of feedback, which will be compiled and forwarded to the dev team.

DomoSapien: Glad to hear you're enjoying the changes! The biggest reminder of
that, for me, was playing WoT Classic during April Fools'. I got
1-shot by arty a few too many times and found myself firing the
main client back up much sooner than I anticipated. The Dev
team has definitely added quite a few mechanics that are designed
to accelerate your grind and make it so you can spend more time
playing the game the way its meant to be played (with fully
upgraded, non-stock vehicles), however something that I'm
personally trying to accomplish as a Community Coordinator is
coming up with more ways for players, who are really engaged with
the World of Tanks NA Community in and outside of the game client,
to progress through the game and earn rewards for being part of the
community.
One example of this is of course my scavenger hunt project, but I'm always looking for ideas to improve various aspects of the player journey through tools that I personally have at my disposal. In my case, it means coming up with community events and activities, since I have no direct influence on the game development process itself.
I'm always happy to hear suggestions from players so by all means please feel free to PM me on the forums or Discord with any ideas.

Average (stated) damage is 490 for that gun. However, let's
say you only shoot at tanks that have 489 hp or less. If you
always do this, you will never get an average damage or higher shot
(because enemies only have 489 hp max). If you then make a
note of all hits and calculate your average damage per penetrating
hit, it will be way lower than 490. Basically you need to
ensure each one of your shots has the opportunity to be able to do
the full spread of damage each hit. If you don't, your
averages will be messed up.

DomoSapien: Hey folks, sorry for the several days of radio silence. I just got
back from California, I was visiting family and attending my
friend's wedding as a groomsman. Got some much needed R&R but I
understand there was a typo on the schedule for Trobs's stream on
the 8th, I believe? So I realize this is slowpoke.jpg in
retrospect, but I do apologize for the typo as I was trying to get
too many things done at once before taking off on Weds - For what
it's worth (and I understand that it's a very small silver lining)
the codes are active for a good bit of time longer than the 48-hour
windows that were given in May. Each code is active until 17:30 CDT
2 days after its activation date, so you get half of the third day
to redeem if necessary. That said, I saw some nastiness in
this thread being directed at Trobs, so let me be perfectly
clear:
The error in the schedule was not, in the slightest, Trobsmonkey's fault. I messed up when I was converting times in the signup sheet to CDT in 24-hour time and didn't catch the typo before leaving for CA. Trobs loves World of Tanks to the point where he literally has a World of Tanks logo tattooed onto his body. This game and its community are what helped him become a Twitch partner, to say that he hates the playerbase is nasty and frankly untrue. There are some bad apples/jerks in any playerbase, but to let the actions of a few govern your opinion of the majority is a simplistic way of thinking. Having met him personally at Twitchcon last year I can tell you that Trobs is far from what I'd consider a 'simplistic' person. The other silver lining would be that it looks like the 3 extra 'freebies' for scavenger hunt participants will probably get approved (we got good feeback about this last time and several players have requested it for this month as well; will confirm once I have approval.) so even if you missed the code due to the mixup on the schedule you'll still have 2 more extra tokens just in case. Again, this is still pending so technically tentative but signs point to yes.
That said, the 7/8 code should technically still be active for another hour and a half as of me writing this post (deactivates at 17:30 CDT, as do all the codes this month)

Regarding the comments about the removal of the barrel-in-barrel exploit - you usually don't see it happening because you're busy actually playing the game, not hanging out and watching people grief artillery. It's infrequent, but it does generate a decent amount of support tickets monthly.
Regarding comments about whether or not you will turn blue for shooting allies if you're not driving an SPG - I've reached out to the powers-at-be to get some clarification in this regard.
