Technical Support & Bug Reporting\General Error Reporting\Accidental premium tank purchase and customer support's repsonse
Link on message: #655200
Zygomatic, on 21 June 2011 - 05:44 AM, said: I absolutely take responsibility for the error, but have you ever
walked out of a store with the wrong item? Perhaps you bought the
PS3 version of a game when you actually own an Xbox by mistake. Or
maybe you thought you had a DVD and you actually had a Blu-Ray in
your hand. You go back in and explain the error, they give you a
refund and you walk out with the right product.
Yes I clicked the wrong thing (I actually just had it sorted by heavy tank and all nations, saw 7500 gold and just assumed that was the Lowe). It was absolutely neglectful, but it is for all intents and purposes a cash transaction for the wrong item.

Please choose carefully. We do not normally give refunds if you simply change your mind or make a wrong selection. You can choose between a refund, exchange or credit where goods are faulty, wrongly described, different from a sample shown to you or don´t do what they are supposed to do.

Tanitha: What are the refund "laws" for USA? and I mean laws, not individual
shops refund policies.
Being a ex Australian shop owner, I'm familiar with the Australian laws regarding refunds. Basically if there is a fault with the product sold, then a refund can be issued, otherwise not.
AUS law, IE "ministry of fair trading, refund policy"

merig00: I feel you. This is the only MMO that I have. I usually don't have
enough patience for any kind of grind, that's why I mostly play FPS
game. Don't concentrate on one tank - have a full garage of tanks.
Don't grind, don't look at experience - just enjoy the game. Get in
a platoon, turn on your mic and just fire up battle after battle in
different tanks. There are only a handful of tanks that you trully
need to grind through.

tops 20 hours nonstop playing(15min per 500exp). Can be done in a
week of leisure play.

Game Discussion\Gameplay Discussion\Tiger Tank vs T29 = Fail
Link on message: #653124
xaerostrike, on 23 April 2011 - 10:15 AM, said: So.... what am I supposed to do vs a T29 ? it takes 4 Shots or less
for the T29 to kill my Tiger... yet it takes me 10+ Shots to do any
real damage to a T29 and it can still run around...
Shooting the T29 at the rear of the Tank = Fail... Shots just bounce off...
Shooting the T29 at the Front = Fail... shots bounce off or do very little damage...
Shooting the Body of the T29 = Fail... again shots bounce off or very little damage...
The exact same thing goes for the M6AE what ever it is...
Why should the Tiger suck so much ? do the Devs hate the German Tanks that much ? yet making the Russian and American Tanks far Superior ?... maybe there is something in that hmmm...
I even get hit hard in my Tiger Tank by Sherman Tanks... what is up with that ? their shots should be bouncing off of the Tigers Armour...
If the Devs are going to make the German Tanks suck soo much then they need to drop each of the German Tanks down a Level... so the Tiger is Tier 6 instead of Tier 7 for example...
I swear after this month of my Subscription is up I will not pay them another cent until these problems are fixed, and the German tanks are sorted out... it is stupid idea to make the German Tanks snipers if their weapons suck bad, the rounds just bounce or do such little damage...
Why the Hate for the German Machines ??

Why the Hate for the German Machines ??
ARGO: The German tanks are not hated, A LOT of the Staff I know like them
and are predominent in their garages. But I will tell you what I
have learned regarding the 3 trees. 1st. The Russian tanks, They
are the get in your face and smack you in the mouth up close and
personal brawlers of WoT. They are for those who love to go head to
head. 2nd. German tanks are the snipers, the ones who reach out and
touch someone 3/4 across the map and pick you apart before you ever
get close. 3rd. American tanks, Jack of all trades....master of
none. What I see as the most well rounded of the bunch. AGAIN, my
personal opinion. I have learned that in my time with the three
trees that the real lovers of the game, the enthusiasts who live
for the challange seem to enjoy German tanks because they are
harder to use. I myself Loved my Tiger even more than my Tiger II
for sniping. I won more battles with my German line than any other
pre-wipe. Now as for your mano a mano with a T29, your tiger is not
and was never meant to be a brawler that's why you find it hard. If
your tanks were at distance I will bet you would mop the floor with
the T29....I know, I did it regularly with my long barrel 88mm. Now
I do know of a few guys who can dog fight with a Tiger by tracking
thier prey repeatedly but again, it's all in how you fight.
Now you have read all that I will say my piece and wishes for the Tiger tank. I wish the Tiger was seriously buffed out and made into a tier 10. The Tiger is a legendary Tank with a fearsome reputaion, Would love to see that long barrel 88mm get some extra love. I don't think there is a human being on this planet that doesn't think of the Tiger "or Sherman" for that matter when the word TANK is mentioned. In short, putting a Tiger Vs. a T29 is like having an Archer fight a Knight up close. Two different fighting styles.

They need to install a "remove CC info" button to keep our customers happy, And also install a "dont store (opt out) button for future transactions". We have told them we require it many times. They have stated they are currently working on it, and the ETA for its completion is the 28th. I personally would have preferred to wait until the 28th, then post "its done" rather than provide dates which are out of my control. Hopefully they keep to the schedule.

We have continued to chase this up with Playspan, and they have stated they are currently programming this and it should be available very soon and hopefully available this week. IE you should have the facility to remove or edit credit card details with them soon..
You might want to login and check with playspan if this is installed yet.

Vallter: I would just like to advise you of some facts about the tournament
to address Jeff's complains:
- according to the tournaments rules: "all players were to obtain their VISA themselves, they won't be reimbursed". Yes, we changed the rules. We contacted an agency and opened VISA's for players for them, paying the consular fees and quickening the process. We also reimbursed all players who opened VISA themselves. Just to help the players make this trip more possible. Players had only to fill in the form and send it via FedEx.
- for you and your brother we purchased the ticket from New-York to Moscow. According to the above mentioned rules, players had to pay for their own transport to the main departure hub. But we again decided to make this better for the US team members and reimbursed players in Moscow for taking an additional plane, for example, from Syracuse to New York. For you and your brother personally we purchased this ticket from Moscow and sent it to you, just because you stated that you won't go to the tournament in other manner.
This cost us something like 2500$. After that, our dear player Jeff728 felt disappointed with tournament (probably, because of the economic class), and just did not go. With VISA and tickets in his pocket. We said: "Hey, OK. This is his choice."
Yes, we had some issues with our sponsors "UralVagonZavod" and partners from travel agencies (I won't mention their names and companies). That is why the ticket purchasing and invitation making was so long. From our part we made everything possible to fix this (like Jeff stated himself, we paid 5 times more for the VISA and this is not near a 10% of what we've done). But still participants received their ticket 24-48 hours before the trip. We beg your pardon for this and do not blame those who did not end up coming to Moscow. We are very grateful to those, who found the bravery (or, may be, adventurism) to believe us in these circumstances.
Yes, we changed some rules for finals. And announced some of them just before the tournament (8 Tier Arty). But this is normal e-sport practice. The general set of rules (map, number of players etc.) was not changed.
Yes, we argued about the possibility of using TS and other VoIP services by our players up until the last minutes. I personally convinced Russian e-Sport Federation to allow you to use it and communicate with remote players.
This was our first tournament and next time, with the additional experience we have now, we will do many things differently in future. We will do better.
As all players could see, we did everything possible for all players. And they enjoyed the trip. I won't write anything about this, you can ask about them the time they spent in Moscow.
Also all American teams won their prizes as well. Each of participants will receive 15k gold within a week including substitutes.
When the US players arrived the first thing I asked them was: "Why did Jeff not come? He did so much organizational work (like any other captain) and earned this trip". And it was a pity to see Jeff's posts. But we said: "OK, he can be disappointed with the organization and loss. We won't take any measures". But he is near the border.
At the end I want to thank again everyone for coming. We all were very glad to see you and hope, that you will participate in the next tournament as well.

We all were very glad to see you and hope, that you will participate in the next tournament as well.

to address Jeff's complains:

Ironmonger69, on 07 June 2011 - 08:30 PM, said: Location: Malinovka, North of the open field
Players: T-26 “Ironmonger69”
T-26 “Tiny Dancer” – Note: Name has been changed to protect the innocent.
BEGIN!
SPG’s are in the trees as always. I move up to the church to provide spotting and a little early warning security. A TD and a medium are positioning nicely for a kill zone near the shifting SPG’s. I creep around the church and position inside a bush near the front, to better see into the village below. All is well for 30 seconds.
From nowhere, Tiny Dancer pulls up and performs a beautifully executed parking maneuver precisely parallel to me, and only two meters to my left; he could have been a mirror image. Minus the concealment, that is. He’s out (of the garage) and proud; no hiding for him. The turret is spinning non-stop, left, right, up, down. I try to imagine what the conversation among that tank crew would be:
Driver: “Oh, look at this vista. It’s beautiful! I want to live here.”Commander: “Indeed. Oh, look, a butterfly! Oooo, he’s an energetic one!”Gunner: “What kind is he? I wanna see! Entomology is my hobby, you know.”Commander: “Wheee!”Driver: “Are there any birds? My hobby is ornithology.”Commander: “Nope, no, don’t see any…”
Tiny Dancer obviously wants to be a Scooby snack for the enemy SPG’s, but doesn’t want to die alone. Whistling quietly to myself, I creep back into my fallback position at the rear of the church. Not ideal, but I can still watch the high road to the north and Tiny can spot anything coming from the village, if it doesn’t spot him first.
However, Tiny Dancer is feeling lonely and immediately backs up to snuggle some more. The turret is wheeling frantically once again, the gun high in the air. He’s like some demented Walmart greeter, eagerly waving in the enemy. “Hiya, and welcome to Malinovka! Have a wonderful slaughtering experience!”
Donotgreifdonotgriefdonotgrief. A few seconds pass, nothing to see yet. Many of our teammates are moving up the south road to the buildings, some fighting in progress. The enemy will be showing up here any time, and hear I sit with a neon “SHOOT HERE” sign. I can’t stay, and reverse again into the woods into a third bush.
Tiny Dancer is not through spooning, and returns to my side, a faithful companion I didn’t ask for. He’s more or less still in the open as well, the turret hyperactive, the gun scanning the trees for kamikaze enemy squirrels. Surely the enemy will show up any mo…
A PzKpfw III crests the hill from the high road, pointed straight at us. That one second seemed like an eternity while I pondered if we had been spotted. Tiny Dancer cared not one whit; he slammed into reverse on sight, mowing down trees as he reversed back into the woods. In the same instant, the Panzer’s muzzle belched fire as a 50mm round streaked towards Tiny Dancer’s vacated parking space, missing him by inches and detracking me. Oh, I’m in it now. I get a shot on him for only a touch of damage. His next shot knocks out my engine and about 30% of my HP. There’s nothing left now except to try and take him with me. My next shot bounces, and then the world evaporates in a red haze as a Wespe drops a 105mm HE round into the smoking vents of my rear deck.
After suffering the grisly fate of many a tanker, the ghosts of my crew hover above their ride and watch in amazement as Tiny Dancer flees over the hills and far away without a scratch, a distinct line of felled trees in his wake. At least we won in the end.
Lessons Gleaned from the Tiny Dancer Incident (if you’re still reading):
For the inexperienced:
#1 – Cover and concealment are your friends. Know the difference and use them religiously.
#2 – Hold the right mouse button to look around without moving your turret. Waving your gun around can reveal your position to any tank in range.
#3 – Don’t bunch up. Clustered tanks are an SPG’s wet dream.
#4 – Avoid knocking down trees or crushing things whenever possible. Even if no one can see your tank, they can see that. Especially SPG’s. If you’re trying to get away, it will slow you down as well.
#5 - it’s good to watch other players to learn what to do, but please do it at a decent distance. Oh, and wash out your tank once in a while. There’s a reason there were no birds flying. Phew.
#6 – If someone is in the spot you wanted, find another. It’s that simple, you do not own the real estate. Learn the whole map by playing in different sectors, and you’ll always have second, third, or fourth choices to fall back on.
For the inexperienced & the experienced:
#1 – Don’t get so distracted watching the bizarre antics of our more colorful teammates that you forget the task at hand.
#2 – Don’t give in to your impulse to grief others. Contrary to popular belief, venting only makes you angrier and less focused.
#3 – Buy life insurance for your tankers. Their loved ones will thank you for it
#4 – It’s a game. Your tank is essentially indestructible. Relax and enjoy the carnage, and let others enjoy it too. Laugh at the crazy ones. If you want to get thuper-therial about it, join a clan and refrain from random battles.
Here’s hoping a humorous story will actually get some newcomers to read some of the numerous advice threads & take it to heart.

Excellent thread +1 for you Sir, You handled it well. I cannot tell you how many "Tiny Dancers" I have run into in my time here however I have found that 9 out of 10 of them are fairly inexperienced new players or just someone who likes hanging with identicle tanks...I have actually caught myself doing it a few times. Players come here to be somewhere where they feel they belong and sometimes they try a little to hard. Anyway did you ever have dialog with Tiny Dancer? did he do anything in the battle? You got me hooked on the story and now I am seeking closure

binge and can shoot again until you have the next tank zoomed in
and fire only to see that that shot has gone left and slammed into
one of your own tanks.
Higher tier arty may have better damage but it also has shitty accuracy and it really is better to attack clumps of guys as opposed to the single tank.

ARGO: If you check out the date of that one post, you will see that it
was made long before the 6.4 patch but you may have a point in the
patch doing it but I myself run arty a lot and those who I know
still do because again they learn to adapt and they practice often
in smaller tiers to keep up with the speedy tanks. I not gonna tell
you or anyone in the forums that you can become an expert tanker by
going up the ranks and learning each tank because for some, certain
tanks are just not their cup O tea. I will say with 100% confidence
that learning the tiers really does prepare you for whats ahead and
watching and learning from the vets / clans and asking question
will most definately improve your game and better your
survivability stats. One thing I have learned about WoT is that
it's all about patients, he who rushes is lost. There is no quick
and dirty way to win in the long haul so enjoy the game as it was
meant to be and have fun.

ARGO: Now before you buy that Lowe, Make sure you look over the KV-5 as
well. Nothings worse than making a decision you regret later
because you went by whats popular or by what looks good. Now don't
get me wrong here, The Lowe is a very great premium heavy but being
in the same boat your in I am taking my sweet time and evaluating
both heavies very, very, closely in battle because yeah, stats are
nice but battle proven is better in my book. To date, I am still
undecieded.

In-Game Vehicles\Vehicle Comparison\Which 12 Tanks Should I reserch?
Link on message: #649705

ARGO: IS4 / Tiger / VK3601H / Hetzer / StuggIII / T-29 / Priest / KV-13 /
Jagtiger / Sherman "any" / Pershing / and your choice of Tier
10.
These above tanks are by far my personal favorites for these reasons:
Fun to drive / use
Effectiveness
Ability to reap good exp / creds "in premium or not" naturally the higher tiers can be exceptions.
Armour / firepower
Gun accuracy
Weapons selection
In short, don't stick with just one tree, there is so much out there and a lot of it properly elited is good so do not limit yourself.

Tanitha: Its fast enough, the problem is with your internet or how you
download it.
Firstly its best to download any program especially large ones with a download manager, such as Jdownloader.
Apart from the usual resume etc features, it can download the program in 20 parts at once. (that's what i have mine set for 20 connections)
It starts off slow for about 20 seconds then kicks in.
I'm currently downloading the client, from the middle of no-where in Western Australia. (one of the most remote places in the world)
2.1 MB/s download will be complete in about 15 minutes. 2.1 MB/s is the max speed of my net connection.
Regards.
