This isn't even a good WW2 simulator with any sense of "realism".
It's a free to play game that has massive balancing issues that are never getting addressed in a timely manner cuz the devs keep pumping out "shit" to distract you from your horrible grind.
Giving USA mediums the option to equip stabilizers 2-3 tiers before other mediums is outright unbalanced. Tier 6+ Americans are all ready retarded with their high firing rate, movement speed, armour, hit points, and damage; they don't need an extra optional "bonus" to make them better.
USSR guns are highly inaccurate and are in dire need of the stabilizer. German's get slower tanks with higher armour and slower firing rate but still will suffer from the accuracy problem on the move. It's actually worst for any German medium player as all your guns are <15 rounds per min. Thus making each shot count more. So you can't even play like a medium till tier 8/9 which is kind of redonkulous.
If you disagree with this you're welcome to throw yourself out the nearest window as you probably suffer from Alzheimer's and are useless to society.

Can you clarify?
If you have not considered it yet, is it possible to implement? I can see the "Junior" level map being good to introducing people to the clanwar map and getting everyone involved.
Finally, have you thought of a potential logistics system to prevent strict T10 dominance within the current clanwars? To better involve all T9 tanks? As many others have said, the "freeze out" system doesn't seem to work even in theory (bigger clans with more T10s will always win and will be able to hold on to power longer), so if it doesn't work out as intended, will you pursue other avenues to end T10 dominance?

Overlord: 1. Yes, we are considering such option.
2. Will see how it works out in practice. Big and well organized clans will always beat small ones.

No matter how right you are you cannot prove it. They usually come back with "umad?". How can you possibly hold a conversation or reason with someone who has no reasoning skills or can even admit they made a mistake.

ARGO: You are absolutly correct, it does happen in all age groups and even the middle age groups too. And I will be 1st to admit I to get really mad sometimes, I just keep it to my skype talk and not on screen because you never know who's on the other end "a little kid or a child with issues" I would never want to be the one to add to a childs RL problems. But in all honesty when I came at the beginning of BETA I was treated very nice and made to feel "at home", As I once said to Overlord I believe in this product and see a bright future so I do my part to inform and assist where I can. It's really not hard to keep your temper in check and again if you can't, whining to your buddies in skype or TS is a whole lot better than a game ban or worse.....The creation of a P.U.T.T.S. because of things you said to that other guy who is now on a tear to prove himself.

Narrowing Tier Spreads Discussion - How to Fix Matchmaking

Subject: Narrowing Tier Spreads Discussion - How to Fix Matchmaking
Link on message: #753043

View Postcaptking, on Jul 25 2011 - 05:55, said: Thanks for the time to talk to us and give the perspective of the Company.

ChrisK: My pleasure! :Smile_honoring:

Quote I do have a hard time believing that creating a product and not wanting to make profit off that product does seem a bit dubious.

ChrisK: Of course we want to make money! But we won't make money in the long run if everyone comes in, spends $300, then quits. It's better for us if everyone feels they are not spending too much, enjoys the game over a long period, and invites their friends. And we don't "rig" the game to make people spend money. One of our core values is that you can play almost everything in the game for free. Spending money speeds things up and makes it easier to advance, but otherwise you can play 90% of the tanks and equipment for nothing. It's as if World of Warcraft suddenly became free for almost everything, but they charged to reduce the experience cost of levels and you had to buy purple items with money. There has to be a way to make money, but we don't have to force everyone to pay (typical WoW-type subscription model) or somehow "trick" them (if you don't want to pay, then don't - it's that simple).

Quote You talk about cultural differences, the NA player-base don't want to dominate, they just want a fighting chance. Driving into a battle that you have NO chance to even damage the enemy, is not fun.

ChrisK: I've been in plenty of battles where I was the bottom tank, but I've either used what opportunities I had to scout or try to get behind opponents and threaten cap or arty, or I have found ways to engage heavier vehicles while they were also engaging our heavies (greater threats). I don't always survive, but somehow I make credits and XP. Fun? Sometimes. Challenging? Always. When I lose, I don't feel bad (I started outclassed), but I do feel a lot better when I get a kill or we win. For some reason, I think most players equate balance with being able to kill any opponent, which it isn't. As someone pointed out in an earlier analogy to Team Fortress 2, there are some enemies (e.g., a tank with a medic) that require teamwork to bring down. As a demo (SPG) or scout (light tank), I can't do that myself, but I can back off, communicate, and try to help out when our own heavies arrive.

Quote How does WG justify putting a M3 LEE into a Match with a Pz VI Tiger?

ChrisK: The M3 would be a fool to try to take the Tiger in a 1:1 battle, but since this is a team game, there's certainly an opportunity for the Lee to take on the Tiger's peers of Tiers IV-V, cap, scout, or hunt artillery. Again, all valid uses of your tank. If you only expect to beat the enemy's best tank in every match, you are certainly not looking for balance!

Quote How does WG justify balancing a TD gun advantage then taking it away by putting into higher tier matchs?  IE:  T40 Vs KV(107)

ChrisK: The KV's 107mm gun is a Tier VII and the T40's best gun is a Tier V. Once again, you're comparing apples to oranges. You should be comparing the KV to the T1 with a Tier VI gun or the T40 to the Hetzer with a Tier V gun, that would make more sense. If what you're saying is that TDs are overmatched by same-Tier heavies, then yes, in general the armor of the heavy is better, the main gun is about the same, and the heavy is slower. However, the TDs are there to overmatch the mediums on the same Tier, not the heavies. It's a rock-paper-scissors effect (Heavies > TDs > Mediums > Lights > SPGs > Heavies) at the same Tier, with variety and challenge thrown in by mixing the Tiers.

Quote How does WG justify making changes to some tanks for "Historical" reasons and others are not changed?

ChrisK: In many cases we're discussing prototype or planned tanks whose actual performance can only be estimated. In these cases, play balance will always take precedence over mathematical guesswork about penetration, speed, damage, etc. In the case of real vehicles, we do our best to model the tank accurately to the extent that we can (no tank crew can fix their tracks in 15 seconds from inside the tank!). We do a lot of research, and even the research doesn't always match up between respected sources. In these cases, we use the (valid, historical) information that provides the most interesting gameplay mechanics or balances with other vehicles of the same type and/or Tier. In the end, this is a game, not a simulation, but we do also try to use the most accurate data we can find.

Quote Is the population of the SuperTest server that high?  I was under the impression that the super test would be a small group,  so any testing of matchmaker balance would not yield any fruit due to the limited number and the inability of the matchmaker to deal with small population.  You yourself have commented that if we could get 130,000 of our friends to play then the matchmaker would work.

ChrisK: Supertest is a small group. I believe it is limited to 100 experienced players. The main idea in this group is to test new vehicles and maps for unfair advantages against other vehicles and find bugs. However, because we more actively and directly solicit feedback from this group (on a much less crowded forum), it's much easier to get your points noticed, and to get feedback from other highly experienced testers (and devs) with a lot less trolling and n00bish advice. :Smile_harp:
One common thing I have noticed with all of the concern about matchmaking is that it only relates to the current game type (Random Battle). We're adding more game types as we move forward, and correlating the matchmaking system to each game style, so perhaps once we have games that aren't as random (and possibly more control over which games you join or start), there will be less of an issue with MM overall and we can move on to something else. Like spotting. ;)

They want to use tanks that we put the time and effort into getting. You could even throw a few low tiers in for the beginners but try to accommodate your older players please.

Vallter: For this we have specials like x5 XP for all players.

If I remember correctly, it was designed in '31, entered service in '33 and was first used in the invasion of Poland in '39.
Can someone explain?

Vallter: Though the event is mainly done in honour of Husky operation, we want also to celebrate with it the start of T-28 and T-34 manufacture, which started in the end of summer

Vallter: Unfortunately, only M4 Sherman

Vallter: For example, you receive 1000 XP for the battle on Pz4 and the 50% bonus for the Premium Account. At the end you will have 1500 XP fir your battle actions.
During the Husky Operation you will receive 1000XP. This amount will be doubled because of the Special. This means you earn 2000 XP for the warfare. After that you will receive 50% bonus of the Premium account for this amount. So you will be awarded with 3000 XP after the battle.

The importance of good in-game conduct

ARGO: Greetings,
Most of you all know me from my articles regarding “Behold the power of PLEASE” and “You too can help stop the spread of P.U.T.T.S”. Or others regarding good sportsmanship and what not. Today I am going to talk a little about in game conduct and how it truly effects the game. Some of you may have become comfortable in WoT and get lost in the heat of the battle and may write a few things in chat that are less than “G” rating. Sometimes we forget ourselves when in a platoon, company, clan and get a little heated at another player and verbally rip them a new one and that basically what I am writing about here because my goal here is to have you all look at it from a different perspective.
You see WoT is huge, many people from many cultures “including children” play this game, all have the same expectations you do and want to do well and that’s where basic in game conduct is key. Imagine you are a fresh player, just downloaded and never played the game before, you go into your first match and instead of being treated to an awesome gaming experience, all you see is spam, filth, profanity, and other less than adult commentary running all over the chat windows. What kind of 1st impression does that make? I realize again it can be hard and especially when you having one of those infamous losing streaks to control ones anger in game and not tell that arty, Lowe, leopard where to go and give him directions but seriously my friends, Try to keep in mind that maybe to yourselves, you have played and worked hard to get where you are and earned a name for yourself here but to others, first impressions mean a lot and I am sure most clan leaders, or gamers who really enjoy the game do not want to turn off perspective new members. It’s bad for clans, it’s bad for players, it’s bad for business, and it’s just bad for any game. So in closing I would like to just put one single thought in your minds…..
Every time you play, may be somebody’s 1st time. Let's try and make it a good time.

You know, just say "On this date, let's all drive Tier 2 tanks for a couple hours." Maybe make it a weekly thing... Thursdays sound good.

ARGO: I can see it now.....Kill the Mod.....Tier 2. RAWR! :Smile-izmena:
