I don't think they should have allowed you to get into this one, unless it's a one-off thing and they'll prevent this in the future by having the e-mail address kick back automated messages of receipt.

Agrona: It wasn't forwarded, I promise. We don't accept late submissions or count forum posts as entries for the All Stars. The submission emails go to a few people here, it was in everyone else's All Star email but mine, and got missed. It wasn't a forwarded email message and no one was basing it off of his forum post of his results.

Captain_Judo: We actually want to give teams the ability to change nations even between battles. The text is edited to communicate this.
Your team is free to switch nationalities between battles and rounds.

Looks like a pain.

Captain_Judo: It's a bit complex. But we like the elements that Farva1 included.Tanks of the same nationality.
Increasing tiers culminating in a Tier X final round.
Varying point limitations.
Rotating maps.

View Postscitus, on Oct 24 2012 - 12:06, said: I like old all star tank selection. Current selection is very bad. i mean some tank drivers can't join this contest forever. There is lot of good drivers of tigers, T29s and others. but they can't win this contest because of that tanks can't spot a lot. You can't fix it with reducing or remove tank spot point. if you do it, others side players, i mean AMX 1375, T20 or other speed based light armored tanks can't join this contest. this is like you guys want match up Usain Bolt vs Michael Phelps. Yea if they match in swimming pool, Phelps beat Bolt easy. if they rice on land, Bolt beat Phelps easy. also arty players can'y join this contest. it isn't because of rule. if you select one or other tanks like a old time. all drivers happy because of their opponents are same like you. maybe there some problem with coverage of player. but you can fix it. I have some ideas how to make improve this contest and others:
1. use old tank selection method. i think 2 tanks per week is good enough and don't try to balance tier. i mean sometimes there is two Tier 2 tanks or sometimes there is one T10 and T8 tank etc... also please don't place one spot for premium tanks. they are especial for you because of they paid for that tank. but it is make unfair. there are 200+ tanks and ~50 prem tanks (i am not sure). this means one of four all star selected tank should be premium tank. maybe you can make another contest for premium tanks challenge (who can make most credit with T5 prem tank etc...)
2. If you want apply more people for this contest you should connect teach tree focus for this contest. i mean before All Star begin, selected tank research path will discounted. another option is enlarge contest winner (i am happy with 5 man winner bracket)
3. Add other medals for all star point. All star means do best on all things. spotting, damaging and destroying. all battle achievements are rate for that, also medals are rare and people must be do some risk for medals always! that will make this contest more fun.
4. i am happy with all star time interval (including weekends). Please don't change it :D
at last, if you don't understand my post, excuse my bad English. English isn't my primary language and i have some problem with it.

Agrona: You're English is just fine! Good suggestions, thank you.
I really like the time length for these too, I feel like a week is a much better time to do them.

About The Song - The song was chosen for a very specific purpose.
The Rains of Castamere immortalized the destruction of House Reyne by Tywin Lannister. House Reyne was obliterated after they rebelled against their liege lord, Tytos Lannister, who was perceived as weak by his own vassals. To restore Lannister dominance, Tytos' son, Tywin, marched against the upstart Lord Reyne. By the end of the rebellion, Castamere had been put to the torch and all members of House Reyne executed.
Source: http://gameofthrones...ns_of_Castamere - This link goes as far as the Game of Thrones TV series has so far.

Lyrics:
And who are you, the proud lord said,
that I must bow so low?
Only a cat of a different coat,
that's all the truth I know.
In a coat of gold or a coat of red,
a lion still has claws,
And mine are long and sharp, my lord,
as long and sharp as yours.
And so he spoke, and so he spoke,
that lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall,
with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall,
and not a soul to hear.

WARNING - MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW (Do NOT click if you haven't read through the fourth book)

Last Warning!!! Seriously some big spoilers here. Even bigger ones than Ned's Head.

And - why are spotted tanks worth 1 point in an All-Star that doesn't have any scout tanks available (13 75 isn't really a scout). The competitive tanks here will be the Heavies, Meds and TDs - and I don't wanna see great score being beaten by an above average score because he lit 6 targets first and then ran away.
I would like to see more variation and catering towards the vehicles you are focusing on in the All-Star, and less copy/pasting and only changing the tier.

Agrona: Fair enough, thank you for your suggestions. I will take a look at the next All Star before we post it and try and make it more applicable to the tanks being used for it.

Quite simply, the system was abused far more often than we liked. Whether it's massing accounts to create artificial negative votes in contests, or someone getting their clan members to negative rep a person's post because they don't agree with the person's opinion, or someone creating mass alt accounts to negative rep someone as a form of harassment, we did not like it happening.
None of the options available in the forum software are optimal for a gaming community right now, but this is the lesser of the two evils.

You can see from this long list of posts that I wasn't alone in my mis-interpretation.
There was no mention in the description of any total tier points.  That might have pointed
to the tier 1,2,3,4,5 requirement.

Captain_Judo: It's certainly disappointing to hear the misunderstanding of the tier rules. In the future, we'll post an example line-up of tanks that adhere to the rules. I also encourage everyone to review the rules and raise any pertinent questions in these very threads. You'll find these questions already discussed in the days leading up to the initiation of Skirmish XXI.
Skirmish XXI must go on. Good luck everyone  :Smile_Default:

Captain_Judo: Yes, this goes to all winning team captains: please send at least one replay to tournaments@worldoftanks.com immediately after each round!
Thanks :)

A. Poor match making
B. Poor team mates
C. Some form of Tin foil hat thing that I could never explain

However...it was all me just failing and failing some more topped off with some fail.

I was doing so bad that I had promised myself if my win rate hit 47% i was going to delete the game (which would make the wife very very happy)

But I decide to give it my all for one last all out effort to figure out why I was winning so few battles.  I wanted to be in the mythical 60-70% win rate.

So I watched over 500 of my replays and instead of exiting to garage after I died to start another battle, I followed and watched the more experienced players in the pub match's.

Here is the result:
AttachmentScreenshot_1.png

Over the last 130 battles I'm averaging 60% win rate.

I still have a long way to go to get to that 60-70% actual win rate but I can say this: Win rate is a product of your effort.  I am converted to that line of reasoning.

Thanks for reading and I hope this message finds you well!

Hello,
Kudos on the initiative and self improvement. We are currently working on a mentoring / tank academy project which will pair people from various skill levels with someone who can help them continue to learn and refine their skills in general, within a tech tree, or even in a specific vehicle. You can check the Newcomers' section for more info.

Still seems pretty biased though.  You have Video Contests, Poster Contests.  Everything else.  Not everyone is actually capable of doing all these things.  I don't have a random video making program laying around on my desktop.  Seems like if they're going to have a contest, they'd have it as something 'everyone' could participate in.

dance210: I don't think each contest is geared for 'everyone' but rather its a mix (models, posters, bumper sticker, video, etc) that eventually everyone who wants to can participate. If you have any suggestions for future contests that may be more user friendly or that you would like to see happen, they asked for ideas here

Agrona: Check out the winners here!
There have been some messages and posts about fake accounts and cheating.
We were aware of these issues and they have been looked at. All of the winning submissions were legitimate, and are as of when the voting ended, not from what is on there now. The ones that weren't legitimate were removed.
Thank you all for voting and participating in the contest!
