Lert:   3) Pull a 'Type 59' on us. Keep it in the game as is and reward it for rare missions / events every now and then, but don't sell it again. 4) Pull a 'Pz II J' on us. Keep it in the game as is, but don't give out new ones anymore.

Lert: I was given one by a friendly and very generous clanmate. Haven't even driven it yet. Part of me wouldn't mind if they never brought it back - that way I have a rare tank. I just hope they're not going to nerf the crap out of it when they do bring it back.

Lert: Are you suggesting something like -   7v7 for tiers 1 - 2 9v9 for tiers 3 - 4 12v12 for tiers 5 - 6 15v15 for tiers 7 - 10   Based on your thread and musings, I could see something like this being a good thing. As you said, it'll help newer players acclimatize, but it'll also give them something to work towards.

Even NA West is barely viable, at off peak hours the playerbase is too small. I'm in Australia and I play on NA East even though its and extra 30-50ms ping over West because the MM does not work that well with only 3k users.   250ms ping is fine btw.

GeneralDirection:   For sure. The idea behind opening a new server would be to grow the playerbase significantly. While fixing ping for existing players is important, we can't do that without a certain threshold on the server (otherwise queue times are awful). We're going to approach it with a very aggressive growth strategy in mind if we can make it happen.   That's the main reason it has taken this long for a solution, though: on one hand you have latency, on the other hand you have gameplay experience. It's kind of like the chicken or the egg... which comes first? Not an easy nut to crack, but we're trying to figure it out.

GeneralDirection:   Well, I think Rampage is doing a great job personally. It's hard to please everyone with all events and still retain some semblance of balance. Good to hear on the improvements; I always say more battles == more knowledge, even if you have a tough time on a given day.   Regarding a LA server; I can't say right now. We definitely need to fix latency for the folks playing from Latin America (it's really bad; trust me), but there are a lot of challenges in opening a new server--particularly on the network side of things.

GeneralDirection:   Thanks! I never really left, just retreated to a "cave" to get things in order. :)

You'll mostly see me involved in discussions about Latin America, but I might pop in from time to time in other threads to discuss my favorite tanks, maps, etc. I still play the game (albeit not as much as I'd have liked to recently), so my #1 priority there is to be active when I can.

Just don't look to me as the first source for game changes. ;)

Very big map, with lots of rubble in unsuspecting places. This is going to be an interesting map once client physics are in.
