View PostPeak_Bagger, on Sep 11 2021 - 18:13, said:   Great summary Churchill!    But the bolded/underlined point raises a question about autoreloaders for me. How does the Intuition skill work with an autoreloader? On my Skoda T56, my loader has intuition to 100% so I can switch from regular to premium ammo in 4-5 seconds. But I don't have any autoreloaders with intuition. Does it still switch ammo types for all shells in a fraction of the time or is this less efficient with autoreloaders?

churchill50:  Thank you!Excellent question. I haven't tested this myself, but friends have told me that if you have a full clip loaded in an autoreloader and switch ammo types with Intuition, it will leave you with 1 shell loaded and the Intuition reload time left until the second shell is reloaded.Assuming that is the case, that would still not help that much.

Jaguarz:  Nice try, I think I may just have a clue thanks, I manage 56% win rate in arty solo in real tiers. I even run small guns in order to increase output of effect. If you cant make use of it, well, thats down to you being bad and/or stupid. Those who complain about arty being weak are just terrible players who want training wheels put back on what is still a mindless and effortless class.

View Poststalkervision, on Sep 12 2021 - 02:21, said: I was well on my way to working tier nine and ten before snowflake statepadders like yourself destroyed high tier arty play. Now I can't see it being worth it. There appears to be a consensus in the arty community about this if you look at how few arty players bother playing these upper tiers now.You are a classic Case of DunningKrueger  Effect.

Jaguarz:  Hilarious, the arty "community" indeed, you play baby tiers because its where the easiest of the easy class reside, 3300 battles in the M44, nearly 2k in the FV304, 1800 in the leFh.

churchill50: The tier 8 is pretty painful. It doesn't have the alpha the Bisonte does, or the prem pen, or the turret armor. Plus it has longer time between shells. It does have better gun handling than the Bisonte, but that only goes so far. The tier 9 is pretty alright. It's not among the best tier 9 heavies, but pretty solid nonetheless. I've had pretty good luck with mine. It doesn't have quite the turret armor the Bisonte does, but it does have some. The Rhinoceronte... Yeah, it's as bad as everyone says. Alpha is all it has. The gun handling is bad, DPM is abysmal, armor doesn't work, mobility is mediocre. It has 3 ammo choices that are all at least decent, but that means nothing since you can never switch to the ammo you need when you need it.It also has an issue the tier 9 doesn't have. The tier 9 has better gun handling, so you can put Turbo in the third equipment slot to help with the mobility. On the Rhinoceronte you have to choose between Turbo or a piece of equipment to help with the gun handling. Either way, you lose out on something that would be nice to have.

View PostWhistling_Death_, on May 02 2020 - 14:24, said: Maybe, possibly, this will educate the artillery-whiners a bit.  I'm not going to hod my breath though.

Draschel:  Let us look at weapon intent before calling people whiners. With it changed, a lot of others things change too. Artillery can mean many different things, but colloquially what we in world of tanks or armored warfare know as artillery, is a self propelled gun lobbing explosives indirectly at targets with poor accuracy and high randomness. Throughout history, artillery means rather much and can be difficult to define. A regimental field gun, with a flat firing trajectory for long range, can neverthless lower and level the gun and fire onto targets directly. Pretty much horizontal. Most towed guns have a direct fire panoramic sight attached. British and USA 4.5in guns were a clear example of this, same with British 5.5in. Heavy barreled, higher operating pressure, higher velocity VS a howitzer.  What is the point of all this jargon? Well, the point is artillery didn't find that good cost/expenditure ratio of barraging a single target for fire-for-effect result. The idea was to barrage a sector, and if advancing armour units were hit, they were hit. The damage would generally be mobility kills and damaged suspension, damaged guns and observation, damaged hatches. That sort. But for artillery crew, to ACTUALLY SEE a tank, and level the gun onto the target, and fire onto the target.....the damage is greater. But we aren't talking about indirect artillery damage anymore. Get your intent right. And all you pro-arty crowd, get your intent right too.

View PostZeke250, on Sep 11 2021 - 15:53, said: Data versus "feelings".....    Working with data is what I do on a daily basis to make a living.  I value data.  Good decision making is usually dependent upon good data.  But sometimes in life there are circumstances where data is not available or it takes an inordinate amount of time, effort or money to obtain.  In those cases a decision often must be made with only a small amount of data or information.  Can good decisions be made in those circumstances?  It turns out that they often can.   Going With Your Gut Can Result in Better Decision-Making Than Using Detailed Data Methods - June 18, 2021 https://neuroscience...ecisions-18761/   The linked article is fairly short and a good read.  Here is a quote:    “Under extreme uncertainty, managers, particularly those with more experience, should trust the expertise and instincts that have propelled them to such a position. The nous developed over years as a leader can be a more effective than an analytical tool which, in situations of extreme uncertainty, could act as a hindrance rather than a driver of success.”    In most cases I am an advocate for data gathering.  But, can good decisions or correct conclusions be reached without it.  Yes, but with a caveat.  Such decision making should be made based upon experience.  If I have a medical decision that needs to be made, and there are a lot of uncertainties, I will listen to the doctor that has years of training and experience and ignore the dude across the street that is a stock broker.     I am a pretty average player in this game.  But I have played it quite a lot over the years.  So I have a decent amount of experience.  Based upon that experience it is my belief that a change occurred in the game back in 2019 and has continued to this day.  My reason for starting this forum thread was to bring attention to that change.  A couple of years have passed and based upon what others have written or put up on YouTube it is apparent that I am not alone in this belief.  I and others do not need to gather lots of hard data to come to this decision.  We just need to have put in enough time in the game to develop the experience needed to make an informed decision.  Everyone is free to disagree with that belief.  But War Gaming should weigh the consequences of a significant number of people coming to that belief.  These players in one way are making business decisions.  Do I spend money on this game or not?  What people believe is important in such decisions, even if what they believe is wrong.

DeviouslyCursed:  I read the article, and they mostly talked about making decisions on what was going to be popular or be accepted by people. This was essentially about making decisions based on what they expected others' emotional responses would be (liking a book, approving of polices, etc.). It has nothing to do with, and is not relevant to the reality of statistical data and people's ability, or lack there of, to understand statistics. It is fairly well know that humans are really bad at generating actual random number lists, and are equally bad at selecting which lists are random vs man made. In short, your article was not relevant to this discussion of you having a gut feeling about RNG in a video game. All the previous knowledge gained from Psychology, Sociology, and Physiology indicate humans are really bad at what you are trying to say you are really good at. Also, I am a very analytical person too. I haven't seen any indication RNG changes for anyone, at any time. Now we have disagreeing perceptions, and both of us should be really good at this, according to you. So how do we tell who is correct? Yeah, that's right... data.

Draschel:  Position and knowledge beats power. I agree. That being said, there are the situations where you cannot put your good position to good use, because of the DPM. Also, the lackluster mobility This thing is just a silly 274A that trades hull armor and great AP for abysmal DPM and no one even uses AP anyway.

churchill50: You do have unlimited time to recover them. However, any premium tanks that are available in the tech tree for gold can only be redeemed in the client for 3 days.  After those 3 days are up, you have to go through VRT (Vehicle Restoration Ticket), which is described here:https://na.wargaming.../article/23827/ And here's the list of redemption costs for most premium/reward tanks:https://na.wargaming.../article/23826/ When you're entering a VRT ticket, select the Game Issues category and then "I'd like to recover a Premium tank". Also, any premium/reward tanks you sold before the redemption tab in the Depot became a thing will have to be redeemed through VRT.The time it takes for these tickets to be answered is all over the place. I've had some vehicles be restored within 5 minutes, and others that took 1-2 days. I hope that helps OP! Let me know if you have any questions.

DeviouslyCursed:  Of course you don't need scientific measurements to feel obvious things like the average temperature dropping 40 degrees or the leaves turning color. And what happens if you do measure it? It's clear and obvious in the scientific instruments also. If you feel it's hotter in your house but the thermostats says it is the exact same temperature as always, the issue is with you. Your house has not conspired against you. You can test it with another temperature gauge if you think the thermostat is broken. Common sense says that when the other temperature gauge also shows the same temperature as always it should confirm the issue is with you. But not you conspiracy guys. No, you check it with another gauge and when it shows the same temperature, you say "I knew it! This confirms the conspiracy against me! And this proves it goes further than I thought!"

Interestingly enough there doesn't appear to be a significant difference between "random" battles and ranked battles for me. Win at about a 40-45% rate in both. Guess ranked is just as "random" as "random" battles.

DeviouslyCursed:  You are way off on that number. A tank I suck in, the Obj 140, has about 1300 dmg and a 46.67% win rate. Any tier 10 I have that is around 2000 dmg per game is over 50%. I don't platoon much, and several of those tier 10s I don't think I platooned at all in them. Also, 2600 is more hp than most tier 10s have. Are you seriously that deluded to think if a tank does at least it's own hp that it's going to have a 40-45% win rate? Really?

I think I played one battle and said to myself ... if I'm going to play a tier 9 medium, it'll still choose the Standard B ... the speed and gun depression makes it feel like a better tank (to me) ... or maybe just a more enjoyable play style.

Jaguarz:  I dont think you have given it a fair chance, the KPZ is a ridiculously good medium and its gun handling is good enough you can bolt a turbo on it. I didnt do the first wave of ranked because i HATE how it looks but its an incredibly effective and comfortable medium

churchill50:  If I could offer my advice. If you're only doing Ranked to grow as a tier 10 player, don't. If that's your goal, just pick a tier 10 you're comfortable with and play 50-200 Random battles in it in a relatively short amount of time. That's the single best way to improve at tier 10.Ranked meta is so different, and so much worse, than Random Battle meta that it's not worth playing Ranked for that reason. The only reason to play Ranked is for the rewards. Bonds + Improved Equipment + the 114 SP2 (and a chance to buy the Ranked shop tanks if you want to).

https://tanks.gg/na/Fuzzywuzzy

So it seems like in this current meta if I was getting 2,600 dpg, in a batchat there is now way I could have a win rate of 66%.

What do you think changed?

DeviouslyCursed:  2600 dmg per game doesn't mean anything. Did he get that in the first 3 mins of the match, or the last 3 mins before the end? If you get 2600 dmg and play super aggressive, you can get a 66% win rate.

Draschel: You have no idea what you are talking about, and sincerely are delusional. Tanks can equip howizters genius. And snipers do not lob attacks. It really shows, even without an in-depth breakdown on why you continue to perform poorly at even basic level, despite what would otherwise be seen as tens of thousands of matches, and years to boot. not an opinion, but the truth

The issue should be resolved hopefully very quickly. We identified it already and are working on the fix.

Is he going to use thought control to "position" his tank? Game mechanics...meaning knowing how to play the game. I know how to play chess, but that doesn't make me a Bobby Fischer. And chess is WAY more complex than WOT. Sorry....pick another two. :)

TeriyakiTanker: Certainly you have to admit that the vast majority of players do not have physical handicaps.  So as a disabled veteran I think we can both admit that isn’t really a good point, of course there are people who are disabled enough to impact their play but it is a small minority.

1LT_Dwayne: The only way I see WG rigging the mm is by making op tanks. Whoever plays them has the battle rigged in there favor. Seriously I was playing the ae phase 1 and I don't like that tank. The cupola is big and the accuracy is bad. By the time you aim they already shot your cupola and hide.

TragicLoss: Internally we've said our farewells to Gneis, for this stream we're taking the opportunity to appreciate the positive impact CabMech has had on our team and the community at large.

I'm personally quite sad to see two amazing Community powerhouses part with Wargaming, specifically World of Tanks. I'm hopeful that both of them will find green pastures and welcoming fields.

Stick around until the end because I will be announcing a small additional reward code for everyone to share with any and all outside of the stream.
