Saffr0n: Hello Everyone,  We received some reports about Stronghold changes that would have taken effect in mid-July regarding legionnaires. The UI wasn't reflecting the change from allowing 3 legionnaires up to 8 for Tier VIII detachments. Earlier this morning, we had our devs investigate the issue and apply a fix. As soon as Strongholds is open we can confirm those fixes.    Cheers.

CabbageMechanic:   Nice!  The L79 is a ton of fun and the CTC is a great group of guys.   L79 is such a fun car for me, having to psych yourself up to trust the downforce and go faster is intense.

Quemapueblos: Quick Update: The contact list is working again. Please let us know if you are still having issues. We have a temporary fix with the daily restarts but a long term fix is still in the works. Yesterday the chat server crashed in the morning and we put some new measures in place to prevent it from happening again.

The_Chieftain: Here's another consideration or two. Urban areas may be the engines of economies, but the rural states could be the power trains. I can't help thinking of NYC, for example, as the local version of Trantor. The shining center of the galaxy, but utterly dependent on rural planets for existence. If Kansas or Montana weren't sending NYC stuff like... food, I suspect life in NYC would become somewhat less pleasant.. And I don't think Upstate New York could make up the shortfall for the coast, This those dollars going on Interstates in Nebraska or bridges and long roads to get to Alaskan mines and oil fields do benefit the urban States whether the Urban states realize it or not, because that is what allows those urban necessities to get to the cities in the first place.   The other question is one of capital investment. California has a very long coastline, for example. Those 'Federal funds into States' charts usually account for pay of federal employees, and I believe buildings. How many tens of millions of dollars of non-fixed hardware, though, has the government spent in California? Coast guard cutters,Jayhawks and Dolphins, C-130s..., Investment that doesn't do Utah a whole heck of a lot of good as they save Santa Cruzians who get pulled out by riptides when they fall off their surfboards. Every time I see someone say California should secede and expect to maintain all those standard of living benefits that the State has become used to, I can't help but wonder which programs they are willing to cut in order to buy a fleet of Border Patrol trucks or set up a diplomatic corps to go deal with all those foreign nations,   Finally, raw dollar figures don't tell the entire economic story either. http://www.cnbc.com/...n-for-2017.html   What you get for your dollar is significant. I could sell my house in the outskirts of the Bay Area and get a nicer one inland. A rural state may have less GDP per capita...but the capita doesn't need it to be just as well off as the urban folks.   I remember that firefighter incident above. I don't see the problem. The owner decided to make a conscious decision that he/ she would rather spend the $75 elsewhere than pay it into a protection system. Not a decision I would have made, and the owner lost out on his/her gamble. He she should stay clear of Vegas...

CabbageMechanic:   Very little, I have seen some anime I enjoy (Watanabe's stuff is great) but mostly it's not for me.  I'm currently doing a full chronological Star Trek watch through (Finishing up Deep Space 9 for the first time)
 

CabbageMechanic:   I personally don't enjoy the playstyle but I also don't find it that difficult to avoid getting chain stunned.  Granted, I mostly play more mobile tanks and it does make me a little more passive than I would otherwise be.

CabbageMechanic:   LBT and other events have ruined my attempt to run a full season recently but generally I enjoy the Lotus 79 the most.  I am terribly slow compared to the top guys but I have a lot of fun in the CTC.  I also race Skippys, Fixed Trucks, and Fixed Indy Oval occasionally.  I have most of the dirt content but haven't put enough time in to feel good about racing it.  I'm interested in the Ford GTE as well but haven't put enough time into it yet to race.

What's your World of Tanks background? I have been an avid gamer for decades and military vehicle games have always been a favorite genre.  I was a beta tester for WoT, WoWP, and WoWS before joining Wargaming a few years ago.  I am a fairly casual WoT player, but I have played my share of Strongholds and am constantly working to improve my skills.

What is your history with Wargaming?
I have been at Wargaming for about 2 years.  I started out mostly handling Rules Violations in CS and transferred to Community a few months ago.  I have been working on World of Tanks: Blitz and now I'm making the jump to PC.

Why is your name so weird? "Cabbage Mechanic" is an old Royal Navy term for a bad cook.   I too am a bad cook.  

Why is your WN8 such garbage?

What did you do before Wargaming? I was previously a Special Ed. Teacher, an in-home tutor, a snow shoveler, a stable boy, a library assistant, a mechanic shop assistant, a truck unloader, an auto parts delivery driver, and a bouncer.  Not necessarily at the same time or in that order.

What other games do you play?
Currently:  PUBG, iRacing, Injustice 2, DOOM

How many roads must a man walk down? 42.   How is GIF pronounced? Soft G.  MeatheadMilitia and I argue this topic on a near daily basis.  He and most of the rest of the office are Hard G supporting scoundrels.  Obviously, I was thus brought in to try and improve the culture.

What's the coolest thing you've ever done? I was a Dog Handler at the 2012 Iditarod.

Quemapueblos: Hello Tankers, First off, we want to apologize for how long this issue has persisted. The team is working on this issue daily and it's very a high priority for us. We haven't done a good job communicating what we are doing to resolve this problem as fast as possible. Chatting and platooning (and blacklisting) are important parts of World of Tanks and we hear you when you say you are frustrated. We will consider compensation for all players after we have finally resolved the issue. We have released several patches to fix the issue and this solved the problems for some players, but not all. It's been a particularly wily issue for us to diagnose. We have started resetting the chat server daily in order to stop the server from failing the following day as we have seen happen repeatedly after each "fix." This temporary solution should help alleviate problems that occur 24 or more hours after chat server connection is restored and lost.  Please continue to let us know if you are still having problems in this thread with as much information about your computer setup as you can provide. There are many posts on this topic and we are going through every thread to gather as much information on the problem as possible.  Please be patient while we work to resolve this critical Contact and Clan List problem. We will work harder to keep you up to date on the latest status of this issue but all of us hope to resolve it once and for all as soon as possible.  ~WGNA

dance210: ​ That's how ranks/standings always work for tournaments. If teams are tied, it doesn't start with the next number (e.g. 1st, 2nd, 3rd), it starts with the next rank (e.g. 1st, 4th, 5th). Technically, no team finished in 2nd place; four teams tied for 1st place, and the next team is in 5th place.

DomoSapien:   I'm sorry, what kind of a response exactly were you expecting to this?
 

DomoSapien:   I can't speak for my colleagues and I can't speak for my employer as a whole. I'm a support rep. If you need help with game mechanics, mission rewards, missing goods, billing, Rule Violations, Account issues for any of our products, I'm your guy. While folks are sometimes pretty quick to call us useless, often that description is based solely on our inability to break policy at the request of a player.   I've been playing WoT for 5 years. I have about 15,000 battles played. 

I know how the game works, as being intimately familiar with the product allows me to perform my job functions more efficiently.

If you need an official response on Policy or game issues, I probably don't have the authority or know-how to explain the motivation and thought process that goes on behind every major decision, as I don't have any stake in that decision-making process.
 

DomoSapien:   I hear your concerns, but I'm really not inclined to comment on this one way or another. Something to keep in mind is that we aren't ignoring all your feedback. We compile and forward all player feedback to the Production Teams, but Wargaming is a Global organization. We have to make decisions with the entire playerbase in mind, not just a singular region. 

That isn't, of course, to say that the NA region's opinion doesn't matter; it does, and our region has been at the forefront of influencing the company to create policies which vastly improve players' quality of life. For example: we were the first region to adopt the Exceptions policy for vehicle restorations, and we pushed for the Vehicle Recovery and Crew Recovery tools to be implemented. 

All player feedback is forwarded. I can promise you this because I forward feedback from tickets on a daily basis. But the Dev teams are getting feedback from every region. Not all of that feedback is useful to us.

My best advice if you want to guarantee your feedback makes it into the hands of the Dev team: Give us examples. Feedback is great, but what's most helpful to us is if our players provide us with statistics or parameters they would like tweaked in a specific way, so we can explore balancing decisions that  we may not have previously considered.

The more data you can provide with your argument, the more useful that feedback is.

DomoSapien: No worries! A friend in-game was kind enough to bring this to my attention and I wanted to make sure that I clear up any confusion. I've been playing this game since 2012, well before I started working here. I love the community and I love Tanks; I would hate for a silly misunderstanding like this to damage my relationship with the community.   Scorpiany is right. I genuinely care about this community and I want to see it continue to grow.

As for your comments about other moderators, I apologize for any negative experiences you've had with any of my colleagues. If there's ever anything I can help you with, the best way to reach me is through a message in-game. I play almost every night!

If I don't have an answer for you, I'll do my best to find someone who does.

I'm definitely sorry if that was misconstrued as a threat, because that was definitely not my intention. However, in all fairness, we're players too and we have the ability to submit tickets with replays of in-game offenses for review.

If you'd like to PM me directly and talk about it I'd be happy to do so as well. 

Edit: I also have a replay of the battle, PM me and I'd be happy to send it over! I just got done rewatching it and our tanks literally never come into contact, so not sure how this was pushing you out of cover.

The_Chieftain:   You don't have to convince me, I have been pushing for a sort of WGCon at Pearl Harbor for about three years.   That said, Naval Legends has been talking about going that way, so a meet greet one evening should not be out of the question.

Saffr0n:   If we don't address everything that's causing lag, it's not going to fix the player's problem. Yes, the player has PL on the last 3 hops, but it's also observable on hops within his ISP's network. You're more than welcomed to contribute, but have some level of understanding before you go off and be critical of the situation.
