The_Chieftain: When I was working customer service many, many moons ago, I recall hearing that someone who dislikes something is going to tell ten people, someone who likes it may tell three. There is a reason we don't make decisions purely on sed-reporting polls like this one. That said, we still take a gander at the comments to see what's trending, After all, if there is a constructive thought on how to improve something, it would be foolish to think that something cannot be improved.

The_Chieftain:   This is in no way an official statement on the matter, but I am not convinced it's a replacement for the current (real-world) 90mm Tier VII but instead may be a separate Tier VIII, with the 90mm variant getting a bit of a tweak to keep it viable. I am still trying to find something definitive on the matter, I have heard both around the office,

The_Chieftain: On the way to Ohio... Let's Battle Tour near Erie. At first the idea of a D-Day re-enactment inland seems a bit odd, but then again, they managed to put aircraft carriers on the lake, so getting an LCVP doesn't seem that unreasonable.   We are actually there Thu Fri and Sat, so if you can't make the big day, but can make one of the other two, it's worth dropping by.

The_Chieftain:   It was Cooper Tyres and Rubber vs NLRB. Unionization had nothing to do with the opinion, it was more a matter of specificity as to the nature of the offense. Basically, a time, place and manner judgement. I'm not sure it's a direct analogy either, but it does imply that at least some protections are afforded an employee even if he is being racist and detrimental to the company's position.   The argument in favor of employment protection for white supremacists (or LGBT or whatever activists that the employer disagrees with) in general is based on protections of civil liberties: It's not the direct gender/race/orientation type protection, but instead an indirect one given an employer's level of control over an employee. A firing for a political activity, after all, does not only affect the employee in question, it will also have the effect of stifling the political activities of other employees who may decide that keeping their pay cheque is worth sacrificing the risk of being politically active in their own time for whatever other cause that they don't know the boss will or will not approve of. And being involved in politics is a pretty fundamental civil liberty. As a result, a firing could, in theory, result in both a civil suit and federal criminal suit.   Again, the lawyers are not convinced that such an argument will work, but neither do they say that it won't either as there is reasonable soundness to the argument. The only way to find out is to for someone to try.

Saffr0n:   Completed surveys, whether or not you're experiencing issues. Our goal is to optimize the connections and there's a possibility of something showing up in the files we're requesting. Those suggestions run the risk of players just filling out the easy survey just to get the reward, and in the long-run doesn't help to optimize the server.

The_Chieftain: Ooof. She's not in the greatest of shape, is she? Still, good she was kept.

The_Chieftain:   This subject came up in the car during the commute, so the wife, corporate lawyer, decided to do some digging. Apparently the question of "Can an employer fire someone for being a white supremacist" has not actually been tried out in the courts yet, and nobody is putting money on which way they will jump. Things are a bit easier in DC, WI, PR and AVI, political affiliations are explicitly protected, but in other states, the Jury is still out. Eight Circuit recently held that an employee could not be fired for making racist comments when in a picket line, but the devil is in the details. The employee gets some wiggle room, but the employer gets some as well, depending on exactly what was said and done, and where and when.   In other words, if someone's being violent or throwing bottles etc, then it's quite likely a firing would be sustained. If it's a firing for just marching, however, there is a chance the employer will lose. This will then put the employer between a rock and a hard place.

Quemapueblos: OP updated with some new questions and answers   What can you tell us about the new hardware?
The new server does not use our current server hardware (see below for what is happening with the existing East and West servers). It’s a brand new networking setup that should increase connection stability.   Will we return to East/West servers if this doesn't work?
While NA East and NA West will not be available to choose on Wednesday, we are not taking them offline yet. They are remaining online as our backup plan in case of emergency. If at any point during the process the NA Central server becomes completely unstable, we have the option to switch back to the existing two servers until we can fix the issue. Our goal is to maintain as much uptime and quality play as possible on NA Central, so we will carefully monitor performance. We don’t want to leave you hanging or dealing with extended outages, so every effort is made to keep our downtime as short as possible in the coming weeks.   Will accounts be transferred or duplicated to another server?
We will share more information soon on our transfer programs, but all transfers will be one-way to the destination and no account duplication. Your entire account will be moved as part of the transfer and this is a one way ticket. You may only return to North American servers through starting an entirely new account.
Right now our focus is on our players who are closer to a regional server that they are currently not playing on.  For example players in Australia or New Zealand, they may want to transfer to the APAC server. Or players who live in EU countries, they might want to join the much closer EU server.   How will tanks that are not available on other servers be handled?
This will be dealt with on a case by case basis and we will make every effort to produce the an exact copy of your account details in the new server location. We will provide appropriate compensation if there is not an exact match for a tank.   Will there be any compensation for the server merge or for filling out the survey?
First of all, we really are appreciative of the time players take to send us logs, we know it’s extra work but it’s a big help! So we will be giving any player who fills in our survey a free Day of Premium, three 100% 2hr Crew XP and 100% 2hr Free XP Boosters to thank you for helping us monitor the server merge.
And of course if there is any significant downtime we will offer all players additional compensation as per our usual policies.    Will players need to download a patch or will they need to do anything specific to change to the new server?
We will patch on August 16th to update your client with the new Americas central server address to connect to. At the same time we will make the NA East and NA West options unavailable for now so all players will join just one server.   Will the Global Map be shut down for any duration due to the server merge?
The Clan Wars Global Map will be frozen on August 16 while server is merged.  The freeze may last longer if server issues persist and we will keep you up to date in the forum section as well.   Will this impact other games?
No, this server merge will only impact World of Tanks PC   Why did we choose Chicago?
Our server operations teams evaluated many locations in NA and did months of testing server response times, regional infrastructure, and performed simulations on all parts of the region. In the end, we were most satisfied with the performance of this location, and believe it be the best option to centralize an single Americas server.

ElPozoleOlmeca: Entiendo que muchos les gustaria ver un Cluster o Servidor en Latinoamérica pero hasta que me digan otra cosa no hay planes ni información si es algo que tienen para el futuro.    Ya se que muchos tienen el temor de que con moviendo los servidores al centro de los EEUU les va subir el Ping y el Lag. Como se escribio en el articulo, lo más importate es que no haya perdida de paquetes entre el nuevo servidor y tu juego.    Por ahora les quiero pedir que veamos como nos va con la unificación.
