Added to cart.   Though it's for the wife...   Apparently the Powers-that-Are have decided that the picture captioned FV205 is really FV217 (No evidence presented, though it's not incompatible with what I know), and they are planning on nicknaming it "Badger". Must try to run over one in my M56...

View PostFrozenKemp, on Oct 20 2017 - 10:49, said:   Am I understanding this - it's a book about the TOG tank?

The_Chieftain:   More of a magnum opus, really (I swapped books with Volketten, so I've seen it already). I didn't think it was possible to write so much about TOG. I'm not sure what's more impressive, that all the records were kept, or that Volketten managed to stay sane enough going through all those fine details long enough to actually make a book out of it. I found it rather dry, tough going (I think it goes into -too- much detail for only a couple of sittings), but if it's the complete technical history you want down to part numbers, one cannot do better on any vehicle. I do plan on plugging it in the future, but we have other book priorities for the next month or two on this end.   One question, though, since it comes up, Volketten. Your book states that the difference between TOG II and TOG II* is in the electric power train. David Fletcher's video says it's the suspension system. I'm inclined to go with yours simply because it looks to me from the outside that the real vehicle has suspension mounting bolts on the hull, but it also strikes me as a very odd mistake for David to make.

Saffr0n:   Can you guys replicate this without the mods? You would have to uninstall and remove them from the directory, and not by using Safe Mode. I also reported an issue with some of the network nodes that may have an effect on the contact list, which is being looked at now. I'm curious, however, if having some of the garage mods are still attributing to errors with recall from these servers since my contact list is still functional.

Saffr0n: Regarding automatic use of Orders:  Orders will be credited to players for all previously completed final missions with honors. However, if you skipped any of the branches at completing the operation, these orders will be considered as committed.   I will forward all of your feedback regarding this issue because it wasn't stated in the patch notes. Unfortunately, Customer Support will not be able to add/remove or credit Orders to an account.

Saffr0n:   There are some localization issues with how this is stated  in the patch notes. Here is how it should have been stated:    Every operation gives you a chance to earn a set of 3 (summer, winter, desert) unique camouflage schemes: A set of 3 camouflage schemes for the reward vehicle is awarded for completing all 75 operation missions; The same scheme set is unlocked to be used on all vehicles of the nation similar to the reward vehicle nation, for performing all 75 operation missions with honors.

View PostJarms48, on Oct 19 2017 - 04:50, said:   One common thing is profit shifting, basically a company can send its profits overseas to avoid taxes (and paying these at cheaper tax rates in other countries). Apple (in Australia) was a big culprit of this, they sent over 8 billion dollars in untaxed profit over to Ireland where the corporate tax rate is much lower. WG could do this as well, for example: WG could send its NA profits over to Cyprus and only pay the 12.5% corporate tax rate, rather than the 35% rate in the US. Though I will admit, I'm not sure if the US taxcode has ways to prevent this.

The_Chieftain:   Take a look at your credit card statement if you have used it to buy something from the WG shop. I’ll lay money that it does not say WG America.   I think there is something wrong with Steel Division if i feel I always have to move it to the slowest possible speed. A 40minute game will take me three or four hours. I did not have this problem with the Wargame series. I don’t know if there even was a speed setting for that.

Saffr0n:     I'll have to verify this situation with one of the game designers to QA why this happened.    You don't have the Object 260 missions available, and you can't use the Orders on the 15th mission -- it is possible that there is an automatic logic built in to assign Orders to incomplete missions so that you receive the rewards for that mission set.

Saffr0n: Regarding camouflage on reward vehicles for Personal Missions:  Finishing a set of 15 missions with honors earns you three types of a unique camo for the reward tank along with a chance to purchase it for any other vehicle from the same Tech Tree.  Complete Primary conditions throughout a set and you get three types of a unique camo for the reward tank only   We did not remove permanent camouflage from reward tanks, thus it would NOT have been compensated for. If you assigned permanent camouflage on a reward tank, you can still mount it by going to the exterior UI menu for that vehicle.

The_Chieftain: OK, who wants to be in the book review business? Sales for the various WoT books are a bit slow, and probably because nobody has actually bothered to put a review up on the things.   Normal 'serious' rules apply. No forwarding of e-copies to all and sundry, reply by PM with your email address and some evidence that you have a reasonably-seen outlet. eg "Hi, I'm Tom, this is my email, I'll be putting the review up on TankandAFVNews."   It may or may not lead to a free copy of my own book. Harry Yeide just sent me his foreword for the thing. Still hoping for an early November sales point. The idea is to try to get some in folks' hands by Christmas, we'll be going on faith that the numbers will match the first print run.

9.20.1 Notes   Improvements to the Matchmaker   Now, the matchmaker attempts to assemble the teams considering the roles within the vehicle types: e.g., the Maus is matched against another Maus, Type 5 Heavy, or E 100, while the T57 Heavy is matched against the AMX 50B, etc. However, in some situations, the matchmaking by roles will not be mirrored, e.g. in case of Platoons that comprise vehicles of different roles. Increased the chance of getting ranked at the top of the list for Platoon players. Equal chances of getting ranked in the top/middle/bottom of the list for different vehicle classes (previously, heavy and medium tanks would end up in single-level battles way too often, while SPGs and TDs tended to get ±2 and ±1 setups). Increased the chance of getting matched in a Grand Battle.

Eh stands for "Ehkranirovanniy", which basically means "Appliqué." They are 35mm armor plates which started being added later 1940, and added a couple tons to the already somewhat overloaded transmission.

Lert:   Thanks for the info, that doesn't tell me if any KV-2s were built with those plates though. Probably not, I'm wagering? I can't find any pictures of KV-2s with the Eh plates, so I removed them from my model.

Subject: Patch 9.20.1 Full List of Changes
Link on message: #11287607

CabbageMechanic: Hey Tanker, 9.20.1 one has arrived, here's the full list of changes:   New Features   Update to the Personal Missions   Reworked the visual and sound component Added new rewards Revised mission conditions: to receive a reward vehicle, completion in vehicles of higher tiers is no longer required Added Orders that simplify completion of the Personal Missions Learn more about the changes to the Personal Missions in a special video that can be watched in the game client Interface and Sound   Reworked all interfaces of the Personal Missions:   Changed the point of entry to the Personal Missions: now it is located on the upper panel of the Garage, under the Battle! button. The tab name is Campaign Added the "General" screen that displays all operations Completely reworked the screen of operations: now it looks like a geographical map with objectives displayed as map areas Completely reworked the Campaign reward screen: now the main reward (a vehicle) is located in the center of the screen added operation statistics: now players can see how much more credits can be earned Added new sounds:   Added a special sound track for the Personal Missions Added interactive sounds: the more missions within a set are complete, the more intensive music is played New Way of Earning Reward Vehicles   Commendations were replaced with Components:   To receive the reward vehicle for an operation, all five Components should be collected: hull, suspension, gun, power unit, radio Each component corresponds to an appropriate mission set within the operation: Power unit: set of missions for light tanks Suspension: set of missions for medium tanks Hull (+turret or cabin): set of missions for heavy tanks Gun: set of missions for tank destroyers Radio: set of missions for SPGs To receive a component, the final (15th) mission of the corresponding set of missions should be completed Orders   Added a new game asset: Order:   To receive an Order, the final mission of any set should be completed with honors The Orders can be committed (i.e. used) to any mission. Thus: The selected mission will be considered completed without honors The player will receive the reward for the completion of the primary conditions A used Order remains committed to the mission The committed Order is not removed but disabled until the player retrieves it To retrieve a committed order, the mission should be completed with honors. Thus, the player receives the Order back and can use it again. Number of Orders to be committed to missions: Any mission from 1 to 14 requires 1 Order Mission 15 requires 4 Orders Summary: orders can be used to pass complicated missions or missions that the player considers to be uninteresting. Important: players can commit Orders to the final mission of a set, even if the previous 14 missions are not completed. Having completed the four sets of missions with honors, players can immediately receive the last (fifth) vehicle component.   New Rewards   Added new rewards: badges   The rank II badge is received together with the reward vehicle. The rank I badge is earned for completion of all 75 missions in a particular operation with honors. Two badges can be completed in each operation: After completing all missions in all operations, the player will receive the special unique badge: Campaign I Champion Added new rewards: Camouflage patterns:   A set of three Camouflage patterns for the reward vehicle is earned for completion of all 75 missions The same set of Camouflage patterns becomes available for any vehicle of the nation the reward vehicle belongs to, once all 75 missions are completed with honors A set of three unique Camouflage patterns (summer, winter, and desert) can be earned for completion of each operation: Changes to the Mission Conditions   Missions in each operation were revised to correspond to the main reward. For example, now all missions of the StuG IV operation can be completed in Tier V vehicles; missions of the T28 Heavy Tank Concept operation can be completed in VII vehicles, etc. At the same time, participation restrictions remained unchanged. Players can complete missions of any operation even in Tier X vehicles.   Secondary conditions of final (15th) missions in each set were made more diverse. This is because of the fact that the additional reward of the final missions became more valuable: it now provides Orders.   Important! If the mission condition requires spotting 5 enemy vehicles (for example), and the player spots 7 vehicles, it is obvious that the mission is considered completed. This rule is true for all numeric conditions.   The following missions underwent changes   STUG IV   MISSION CHANGE   LT-7 Primary condition Before: Spot and cause damage to 1 SPG Now: Cause damage to 1 SPG   LT-9 Primary condition Before: Spot 2 enemy vehicles while remaining unspotted Now: Spot 1 enemy vehicle while remaining unspotted   LT-12 Primary condition Before: Spot enemy vehicles and enable your allies to cause 500 HP of damage to vehicles spotted by you. Remain unspotted at the moment when the damage is caused. Now: Spot enemy vehicles and enable your allies to cause 250 HP of damage to vehicles spotted by you. Remain unspotted at the moment when the damage is caused.   LT-13 Primary condition Before: Spot enemy vehicles and enable your allies to cause 1,500 HP of damage to vehicles spotted by you Now: Spot enemy vehicles and enable your allies to cause 1,000 HP of damage to vehicles spotted by you   LT-14 Primary condition Before: Spot enemy vehicles and enable your allies to cause 2,000 HP of damage to vehicles spotted by you Now: Spot enemy vehicles and enable your allies to cause 1,500 HP of damage to vehicles spotted by you   LT-15 Primary condition Before: Damage caused and damage caused with your assistance must total 4,000 HP Now: Damage caused and damage caused with your assistance must total 3,000 HP Secondary condition Before: Survive Now: Win the battle. Enable your allies to cause damage to 4 vehicles by spotting them or destroying their tracks.   MT-8 Primary condition Before: Cause 500 HP of damage to medium tanks Now: Cause 300 HP of damage to medium tanks   MT-9 Primary condition Before: Cause 500 HP of damage to heavy tanks Now: Cause 300 HP of damage to heavy tanks   MT-13 Primary condition Before: Cause 3,000 HP of Damage (Personal/Platoon) Now: Cause 2,000 HP of damage (Personal/Platoon)   MT-15 Secondary condition Before: Survive Now: Win the battle. Cause damage to 5 enemy vehicles.   HT-7 Primary condition Before: Cause 1,000 HP of damage Now: Cause 500 HP of damage   HT-8 Primary condition Before: Cause 1,000 HP of damage to heavy tanks Now: Cause 500 HP of damage to heavy tanks   HT-12 Primary condition Before: Cause 1,000 HP of damage Now: Cause 500 HP of damage   HT-15 Primary condition Before: Cause, receive, and block a total of 6,000 of damage Now: Cause, receive, and block a total of 4,000 of damage Secondary condition Before: Win the battle Now: Win the battle. Exceptions are accumulative medals. The number of Bonds is not final and might change.   Improvements to Bootcamp   Changes:   Disabled irrelevant options in the context menus of the vehicle research window, Tech Tree, and vehicle panel Balanced the rewards (credits and experience) for victory and defeat when completing Bootcamp Rewards received for completion of Bootcamp are displayed in the Notification Center Added a notification that the reward is not received for repeated Bootcamp completion Crew recruiting window was made more informative   Fixes:   Fixed issues related to inappropriate display of some interface elements in the Colorblind mode Fixed issues related to saving and restoring the settings when entering Bootcamp and quitting it (vehicle panel and reticles) Fixed issues related to inappropriate display of some game hints (losing concealment when shooting, returning to the base circle) Fixed the rare issue related to inappropriate display of the Skip Tutorial button Battle results were removed from the Notification Center in the mode Fixed the issue related to display of the EULA window, when the game client is restarted Updated the vehicle characteristics in the loading screens of Bootcamp Music in battle, Garage, and in the final Bootcamp video no longer overlap Added reward descriptions to the victory screen Fixed issues related to bot behavior Fixed the issues related to display of map borders   Improvements to Grand Battle   The following changes were made to this battle type:   Message about victory or defeat: added a new message about victory of defeat so that players know when and why the battle ended. The message displays separate animations for victory, defeat, and draw. The additional text provides information why the battle is over. When a battle ends because the base is captured, the progress bar of base capturing gets locked right before the message is displayed to show that the battle outcome cannot be changed. This functionality globally applies to all Random and Ranked Battles. Updated the reward tooltips that describe different completion conditions for the Grand Battle and other types of Random Battles. They were changed for simplicity of perception. Improved the HUD in the Grand Battle: transparency of the team list background was decreased to make information more legible on light backgrounds (sky, water, etc.) Borders were added in the top panel to make the empty progress bars more distinctive. Reworked a number of vehicles to HD quality   Vehicles that have been remodeled in HD:   M6 T-34-3 Batignolles-Châtillon 155 mle. 58 Batignolles-Châtillon 155 mle. 55 Vickers Medium Mk. I Valentine Vickers Medium Mk. II Churchill I Valentine AT STB-1 Valentine II Object 416 T-150 KV-4 T-44-122 FV215b Switching to Wwise 2017.1.1   Switched to the new version, Wwise 2017.1.1, which allows further sound improvements.   Improvements to the Matchmaker   Now, the matchmaker attempts to assemble the teams considering the roles within the vehicle types: e.g., the Maus is matched against another Maus, Type 5 Heavy, or E 100, while the T57 Heavy is matched against the AMX 50B, etc. Changes to vehicles   U.K.   The following vehicle was added:   Super Conqueror (to replace the FV215b) Changes to the technical characteristics of the following vehicles:   Caernarvon Changed the name of the second turret from Centurion Action X* to Centurion 32-pdr Added OQF 32-pdr Gun Mk. CabbageMechanic:   They wouldn't be deleted, your NA account will be brought over as a separate entity leaving your current APAC account intact.

View PostNightrider5521, on Oct 17 2017 - 16:03, said:   Are you for real? So wargaming is gonna just toatally do a 180 and now say no merge will occur? I was prepping my account for ages ready for a merge, im so pissed about this

CabbageMechanic:   I am sorry to hear that, I will pass yours and other feedback I received about the change to the process on to the team.

CabbageMechanic: Hey Tankers,

Welcome to my Pick of the Week, where I feature something from the Community that I find remarkable.
This week:

Gleader's video showcasing the Sandbox maps on Max and Min settings side by side:

A lot of content makers focused on how incredible the new visuals look and that's great, but I appreciate that Gleader took the time to show what the new maps look like on the lowest settings.  Well done!

Honorable mention to Bavor's test of different settings with different graphics cards!

CabbageMechanic:   We are still working on the EU transfer, but as promised we are doing the APAC transfer first. It took a little longer than we had hoped, but once we confirmed the Australian server, we had to ensure we delivered on our first promise to ANZ players to offer them to a lower latency solution. We will keep on the job for the folks who wish to transfer to EU and have more info at a later date.

View Postprice300395, on Oct 17 2017 - 12:11, said:   Wait, but how about the first announcement? it said our account will be merge?

CabbageMechanic:   The previous information is outdated as a different process is being implemented, no merge will occur.

View Postwrwsadv, on Oct 17 2017 - 12:46, said:   Isn't it also against the rules to have multiple accounts on one server? Plus, it'll be a huge hassle trying to tell all the guys I talked to about a clan that my IGN is different and my 14k battles on my Asia account+the T25 Pilot and T-34-85M I spent valuable time grinding for are basically wasted.

CabbageMechanic:   It should only be an issue if someone is using the alt account to circumvent a ban on the main.  Those tanks will remain on the account they were earned on.

View PostGothraul, on Oct 16 2017 - 17:59, said: Is this for only a short time or will be it an option on down the road for those who didn't transfer right away or those waiting to transfer later should they physically move from the states to Australia or New Zealand?

CabbageMechanic: This is the window, other opportunities may come up in the future but we are concerned with this one currently.

I have created an account on the SEA Server with the same In_Game_Name used on the NA Server - in order to claim it before anyone else. How to I delete the SEA account so that the In_Game_Name becomes available to be used by the Transfer - I want to keep the In_Game_Name I am already using on the NA Server. I do not care about the Email_Adress.

CabbageMechanic:   Your nickname/account on the APAC server would be the domain of APAC Support, so you will need to contact them and explain the situation.

CabbageMechanic: Hey guys, just got some of your questions answered directly:

Q: If I already have an Asia account, will it be replaced by my NA account coming over?
A: No - you will have to pick a new e-mail to use for your incoming account, but it will be a brand new copy of your current NA account.  (No merge will occur)

Q: If the ANZ Server is just a Shard, why can't I stay on NA server?
A: Because the server architecture is tied to the APAC Server, if you want to play on the ANZ Shard you must be on the APAC Server.

Q: Will my World of Warplanes Account be affected?
A: No, your Wargaming NA account will still exist and be free to log in to World of Warplanes on the NA Server.

The_Chieftain: Launch event in Sydney. If you have comments about this, positive or negative, and want to direct it to the Aussie staff (They actually are Aussies, I've met them), show up on 1 Nov. https://worldoftanks...u-server-nov-1/
