View PostSolono, on Dec 28 2012 - 08:48, said: Got it, can only have fun in ways you dictate and all other fun is illegal. God forbid we're getting stomped 12-4 and I mess with my friend so we can at least get some laughs out of an otherwise garbage match. Its totally comparable to a Sheriff suicide ramming a scout into a teammate, drowning themselves and calling everybody baddies, right?
How about 8000 XP? (320 gold value)
How about a day of premium? (250 gold value)
How about 150,000 credits? (375 gold value)
How about a combo: 100,000 credits (250 gold value) and 3000 XP (120 gold value)
So many possibilities.

GeneralDirection: If you've witnessed that behavior then all you have to do is report it. As you can see from the rules, access to the sheriff accounts carries a lot of responsibility and it's very actionable if a sheriff is doing something that will harm the experience of other players in the battle.

1250 XP is dumb, isn't as palpable as, say, gold by a long shot. For those who whined: Sure is made people act stupider but when aren't pubs stupid to begin with (plus it actually led to aggressive moves)? Foolish reasoning
Just because its something different doesn't mean its good, tell Rampage to stop Vince Russo'ing the events or he'll end up killing them all.

GeneralDirection: Understandable, but considering what you just admitted we're probably going to have to take a look at sheriff platooning and create more restrictions. Using physics to get another person's vehicle destroyed is a no-no even if you're platooned.
For feedback on this, what would an acceptable amount be? I will say right out of the gate that it will not be 500 gold worth. This experience isn't something you have to spend gold to convert--it's in addition to the experience you earn normally.

Nope, Weak spots? nope Enemy positioning? Nope.  What gun the enemy tanks have? Nope.  Wheiter you can be penned by the tank your facing at the angle you are positoned at? Nope.   Just is my circle shrinking anymore? Is the line still green? What does my mod say is the travel time to that point where on the circle is 20kph? Fire.  then RNG.   Any top tier player will tell you arty hinders their skill while improving bads.

GeneralDirection: Sorry, I don't agree that a few SPGs in s battle hinder my skill--I look at it as another element I have to form a strategy around.
It's a no brainer that a lot of SPGs in a battle is not fun. They're a delicate archetype to balance. Hence the limit.

GeneralDirection: You have less than 50 battles in SPGs, many of them in one we have admitted is too good (SU-26). I don't think you can properly judge whether or not SPGs take less skill than other vehicles to play.

Read carefully what he said.. and make note of the 'when' in the statement. It in no way says most sheriff events will be gold.  WG could never do a gold sheriff event again and GeneralDirection's statement will still be true.
The fact is sheriff rewards have been extremely reduced. And it's completely due to whiners and complainers like yourself.

GeneralDirection: I could tell you that you're wrong and this is nothing more than Major_Rampage coming to me on December 10th and saying "Hey I'm thinking about trying something different since gold isn't the only thing we can give away for sheriff events. What do you think of January's rewarding free experience to mix things up?" and me responding with "Sure, why not?"
But I doubt you'd believe me due to the tinfoil blocking reason.

There is no good/easy way to post replays as a video, only by making the whole file available for download.  I have a replay I'd like to make available, but I don't want to risk exposing information that could be used for hacking my account.
Can you confirm that it is perfectly safe to share a replay file with others?

Bad idea: already get 5 per side on average
Good idea: no more GIGA ARTY PARTIES <-- Garbad is that much more happy but still no cigar.
Alternate: drop it to 3 per side so teams have those 2 extra heavies TD's and etc
what's next a suicide attempt at "fixing MM"? oh nope just working as intended.

GeneralDirection: There are a bevy of technical issues that spring up with a cap lower than 5. Once we introduce tier 9 and 10 SPGs we might be able to lower the cap, but right now 5 is the lowest it can be set to with the way the matchmaker works.
Unless you want to get into battles with 12 SPGs on one team and none on the other.

what's next a suicide attempt at "fixing MM"? oh nope just working as intended.

GeneralDirection:
There are a bevy of technical issues that spring up with a cap lower than 5. Once we introduce tier 9 and 10 SPGs we might be able to lower the cap, but right now 5 is the lowest it can be set to with the way the matchmaker works.

Unless you want to get into battles with 12 SPGs on one team and none on the other.

Bad idea: already get 5 per side on average

Good idea: no more GIGA ARTY PARTIES <-- Garbad is that much more happy but still no cigar.

Alternate: drop it to 3 per side so teams have those 2 extra heavies TD's and etc

GeneralDirection: I just want to go ahead and nip this in the bud by stating that when the sheriff events reward gold, we still intend for it to be 500.
