View PostChrysblade, on Feb 01 2015 - 19:43, said: This is unfortunate. The price increase in the 100 is unwise. It excludes those (like me) who pay with things like Karma Koin. We only have 10 and 25 dollar cards, and I for one am CERTAINLY not going to pay to get the 100 package if I have to significantly over buy to afford it. :sceptic:

pizzastorm: Hello Tankers,   There have been some minor changes recently regarding our package pricing.   This change was designed increase the value of our lower priced packages and to cap the max gold per dollar rate at 250 for our larger packages.   The changes are live now, and prices can be found here. https://na.wargaming.net/shop/wot/gold/default/   We just wanted to make sure everyone was aware and informed about this change. Please keep this in mind when purchasing from our shop in the future. If you have any additional questions or concerns, feel free to contact our support team.

Subject: Best Suggestion Ever! *see details inside...
Link on message: #8500200

AgentXIII: I would like to jump in and reiterate some thoughts I shared with ISS last week.   While This is a great idea for a new player to the game, it doesn't exactly cater to all players and would it be received well by all players?   So I proposed taking this idea a little further and seeing if a forum widget may be a better idea. As an example, it would be something simple that would take up a small amount of real estate along the top "bar" of the garage. This widget, in theory, would be a live feed to and from the forums, that would allow a user to see topics posted in a certain section and/or even monitor incoming and outgoing PM's, and/or clan invitations. By default this widget would be turned on after installation and have sections like the newcomers forum, clan recruitment, news, and other helpful areas for new players. These sections could be configured however to what the user wants to see. I.E. I'm in clan, I don't really need clan recruitment, but I'd love to get a feed from clan rivalry and diplomacy. Or... I'm not a new player and I'd rather turn that off and follow the historical discussions in Chieftain's area.   This widget would also not be a replacement for the forums as it will most likely not permit posting from within the client, although that would be neat, instead it would just give a live feed to topics and when a topic is click on, you would be directed to said topic in your browser.   ISS and I did also discuss forum login and authentication, as the widget 'should' be able to pass user information to the login process, however due to possible security issues this may not be the wisest idea.   These are just a few thoughts, and I'm not here to give any guarantees because I'm sure our developers already have a lot of work on their plate, but its a great idea none-the-less. Thinking of development overhead, we're all aware that just adding a link would be much easier than creating a widget, but if possible why stop at just a link? amirite?   It would be interesting to see what our modding community could come up with, even if just ideas, this is a fantastic idea that can assist the World of Tanks community as a whole and could be more useful than a damage panel or a new crosshair.   Thanks ISS for getting some creative juices flowing.

Lert: The life of a derp is not always easy. You're slow, awkward, soft and large. And then you get matches like this one, when you full-pen a T-44 and a Pershing with HE, and you know it's all worth it.   TL;DR, they got blooped.

The_Chieftain:   If they can hit it reliably, especially at range, then your point is valid enough. On the other hand, a significant portion of the front turret -is- well armoured, and compared to many other tanks with less depression, SP also makes a smaller target. Maybe I was just playing 'old SP' wrong, and should have exposed my hull more, but since I didn't, I'm not finding any limitations added to my playstyle since.

View PostLegioCI, on Jan 30 2015 - 04:01, said:   Well, as long as you're taking a look at the thread- any thoughts as to why the in-game Super Pershing's frontal armor differs from the historical photographs? The in-game SP's armor layout, regardless of whether the tank is effective, is completely unhistorical- and not even in a "eh, its close enough for government work" way.   Do you know if Minsk is aware of the historical photographs? Even a casual glance at the Kassel photographs shows that the two spaced plates meet at the top- why isn't this reflected in the in-game model?

The_Chieftain:   I am old-fashioned, I use "Good enough for government work" as "of highest standard." The original meaning. One of those bizarre phrases that depending on who you talk to, can mean two entirely different things.   Although I share your concern about the interior plate, I think your reasoning is flawed: The Kessel photographs themselves seem far from conclusive. Due to shadows, all I can see is that the 'inner' plate in the game model is a little short on the right side of the tank, the side with the bow MG, the critical piece is the top, where the plates meet the blower housing, and the photos I have seen do not show them.   That said, the verbal description by Cooper indicates to me that the inner sheet should go all the way to the top, and the drawing (granted, one with some question marks) in Hunnicutt matches this. I don't know what Minsk's plan is, I'll ask.

pizzastorm:   Capture points are North and South

Lert:   Fury showed well how nasty 'Willie Pete' can be. The name itself was an anachronism though, that didn't become used until the Vietnam war. Not sure about white phosphorous itself, was that used by the Americans during WWII in tank shells?

Lert: Shows how much ammunition technology evolved. That's a low velocity 90mm gun on the Ratel, and it killed an MBT.
