But if using a wireless connection is compromising my scoring, then
that is something else entirely. As I stated in a another
thread, yeah, I get it, I haven't paid my dues. I haven't
"earned the right" to have good scores. I have been playing
for eleven months, and I took two months off from that which had
nothing to do with the game. A lot of the players that are
critical of me (and other noobs) have been playing for several
years, like yourself. I do recall WoT advising that graphics
may be compromised with certain internet setups, but I don't recall
them saying anything about a particular setup affecting
score. I don't get freezing or anything like that when I
play. Everything SEEMS smooth. But I do get an awful lot of
no pens even when I shoot lower tier tanks in vulnerable
areas. So I would appreciate knowing if that is due to my
wireless connection. Thank you. PS: My fps is
55-60, and my ping is between 44-60.

fine. Wireless connection can indeed cause issues with lag
which may lead to hitting less, you would be better off using a
wired connection for your Internet connection as well as your
mouse.

tournaments megathread but yes, the top 8 teams from the Silver Cup
will move on to the Grand Finals.
The Gold cup is definitely happening, it's live on the tournament page and registration has been open since July 9th, ending on the 19th.
Group stages will be held starting July 21, 09:00 PT | 11:00 CT | 12:00 ET. Play-offs will be held starting July 21, 12:00 PT | 14:00 CT | 15:00 ET. The Grand Final will be held starting July 22, 12:00 PT | 14:00 CT | 15:00 ET.

Paris may not be everyone's favorite for 15v15 but it should be
interesting for a tournament format.
yruputin, on Jul 09 2018 - 16:53, said: KISSING up to large clans. I bet you ignore that it's these large
clans that have the most cheat mod players too.DomoSapien: Nobody is kissing up to anyone. In fact, the reason we are running
two tournaments simultaneously is that we want to have one sort of
"Champions" tournament where teams with more competitive experience
can compete for a more substantial prize (this is the best way we
can currently think of giving less-experienced teams a shot at
winning some tournaments) and a sort of "Challengers" tournament
where less-experienced teams can participate without necessarily
getting crushed immediately by more-experienced teams.
_Visa_Warrior_, on Jul 10 2018 - 12:08, said: But then saturday is not double if will be running
simultaneously... DomoSapien: True, it's impossible for a team to play in both tournaments, but
that's the idea. If I'm not mistaken, one of the reasons why
tournaments were originally cancelled was that they ended up being
a Gold funnel for the same, say, 5% of players that would win
tournaments over and over. We are exploring ways to distribute this
a bit more while having the rewards still be meaningful and, well,
rewarding.
At the end of the month we will be posting a feedback thread so we can get a better idea of sentiment around the tournaments we've had thusfar, and we will re-evaluate for next month.

spent an appreciable time watching streamers. Where do they
go? What do they do when they get there? you will never
find someone who is going to elucidate all these things for
you. Streamers don't have the time to give you 45 minutes of
talking in a 15 minute match and still play the game.
I called you out for having a bad attitude because instead of just saying "Hey I don't feel like watching person X is helping me is there someone else I could be watching?" or "Is there someone who doesn't use mods that I could watch?" you come out and start complaining and placing blame. I have yet to see you make a post where you take accountability for yourself. All you do is complain instead of just straight asking for help. I don't know anything about you but I can hover my pointer over that little circled i under your forum name and see that you only win 46% of your battles and average 179 dmg per game. This tells me you have zero understanding on how to play the game and I seriously doubt you understand the mechanics at all. If this seems harsh to you so be it but you need to get back to tier V and learn how to play the game. There is no silver bullet that will make you better at higher tiers, no amount of money you will be able to spend to make you a good player, and no substitute for actually admitting you need to learn and LISTEN to the advice of players who have player thousands upon thousands of battles. I would suggest you go to the following site and look at your statshttps://clantools.us/servers/na/players?id=1027547340See how you are performing. The first thing you need to focus on is your hit rate which is 45%. That is extremely low to the point where I would ask you what kind of ping you are getting? Are you using a wireless connection? You need to figure out why you aren't connecting shots, and remember that isn't your penetration rate that is just the hit rate. So you are probably penning something like 20% of your shots cause I am guessing a lot of your shots that do hit aren't penning.

MA77: Saudações, comandantes! Hoje uma nova fase de teste
para o mapa Kharkov começa. Desta vez, vamos tentar uma versão
semelhante à anterior, mas nesta versão removemos vários
problemas.
versão original do mapa. 3.

And a twirling sign! But it can only pick-up enough speed to

would be complete without some loud music? Well, we have good news!
The Primo Victoria is back on sale and it should fill all of your
heavy metal needs. If you've never heard of it, the
Primo Victoria is a Strv 81 Tier VIII medium tank with exclusive
features you won't find on other vehicles: Crew voices
recorded by Sabaton frontman Joakim Brodén Custom Crew modeled
after the Sabaton band members (you can't change the name, picture,
or roles of crew members, but they can be assigned to other Swedish
vehicles) Exclusive permanent camouflage (gives +3% camouflage
bonus on all maps) But Gnomon, I hear you asking, what is this
Band of Brothers thing the Crew comes with? Well. Band of Brothers
is the same thing as Brothers in Arms. Each Crew in this tank comes
with the Band of Brothers Perk with a special icon. It gives 5% to
the training level of each crew member, as long as all crew members
have the perk. BoB works with BiA or Sisterhood of Steel if
you want to use Sabaton with other Crews. We've also got
the 43 M. Toldi III on sale, which is a Tier III light tank. The
Toldi is a rare sale offering, so this is chance for collectors to
pick it up! Have some sales: Tank

Gnomon: Hi! I did, a quick Google search for that phrase, and I got
quite a few results that are available to read on the first couple

Now, I know you may not believe me because I work for
Wargaming, but we don't censor people who just say the game sucks
or if they provide a lot of critiques. Everyone is entitled to
their own opinion about the game, and critical feedback can only
help to lead to improvements However, a fair majority of
these posts devolve into forum violation after forum violation.
People begin to attack each other, stat shame, go off-topic, and so
on. When that happens, the thread is locked or closed and the
people who broke the rules are warned/sanctioned. Since this forum
currently has 11,179,211 Posts as of my reply here, 1,000s of
them could easily be "WoT sucks" posts that violated the rules and
were removed while even more that say the same go untouched, since
no one broke the rules. Just by the large volume of posts this
forum, it's bound that many of them are sanctioned for rules
violations and not the idea behind the content. tl;dr
We don't remove posts for criticizing the game. We remove posts
that violate the rules, and criticizing the game is not one of
them.

bad for new players. Because of the maturity of this game
there are many people running around with 4+ skilled crews and the
chance for new players to catch up is really low. at least before
they leave out of frustration.

I know I am a stupid noob, but I find it difficult to flank enemy

maneuver into one. Discouraging.

level. You will face a lot less frustration if you go back to
tier V and VI and work on developing your crews as well as getting
comfortable with the game. I already know you aren't going to
listen but it is pretty obvious from your posts that you are not
only having a hard time learning the game but you are not having
much fun either. You don't need to memorize individual tank
weak spots unless you are having a specific problem. All you
need to know is that frontal weak spots tend to be lower front
plates, cupolas (those are the commanders and gunners hatches on
top of the tank if you don't know), and sometimes machine gun
ports. Other than that sides and rears of tanks are usually
good to shoot at also with some exceptions. Lastly the T110E5
isn't really a heavy and you will probably have better games if you
work with the mediums and try your hardest to find hull down spots
to work. Go with the heavies and you will invariably find the
real heavies in this game.

TeriyakiTanker: This, I use a full repair crew, large repair kit, small
repair kit, and a toolbox. Pretty much nothing is keeping me
tracked at that point. Tier for tier this is one of the best
front armored vehicles in the game. Your best bet is to just
find a flank or go somewhere else.

Gnomon: Happy Thursday! Hope that you are all having a good morning so
far. Today, I’d like to talk about our newest Supertest. We’re
commencing a new stage of the Kharkov map test. If
you’re unfamiliar with the previous test, check out Cabbage’s post
here: Kharkov
With this test, we’re going to try a version similar to the last one, but we’ve removed some of its drawbacks. We plan to get rid of super-fast battles, to give every class a chance to shine, and to increase the playability of the open space by making it more suitable for mobile light and medium tanks.
So, what does the new version of the map look like? Well, I’ve got you covered! The central square now has fewer entrances and even fewer exits. There’s a couple of two-way passages (marked in green on the minimap below) as well as two one-way access points (marked in red; you can only drive in through these, not out). It’s now much easier to control the square’s exits, and we believe this should decrease the amount of unexpected flanking and breakthroughs behind the lines (even if one of the teams has completely ignored this corner of the map). The central city blocks haven’t changed. This particular part of the map is what creates Kharkov’s signature gameplay: close quarters combat that can unfold in a myriad of ways. Also, we’ll try to keep the central city blocks as they were on the previous release version of the map. The city blocks near the bases have lost many of buildings and piles of rubble. We thought they were making this zone too much like a maze as well as impeding tank movement. Due to this, we decided that they needed a change or two. The outskirts of the city have received several covered positions on each side, allowing players to light up the open part of the map for their team. From here you’ll also be able to support your friendlies engaged in city warfare. The open part of the map now offers more cover and more important positions. The changes made should help light tanks and mobile mediums to use this zone for flanking moves or for speeding into the enemy base. We’ve also added some bushes that you may want to use for spotting or firing positions. Although, they are rather risky positions because the enemy team is going to be fairly close to you here.

Depending on test results
we’ll decide on which revision of Kharkov is the
best. Let us know what you think! Be sure to
follow the news, and best of luck in battle!

3. In the background is usually some annoying music of their
liking, instead of sounds of the battle. 4. When in battle,
enemy tanks sit perfectly still while they get multiple shots at
them, and they always penetrate enemy tanks. I have yet to
hear "we didn't even scratch them". 5. They run mods they
don't describe or reveal. 6. They have a full complement of
skills and perks for every crew member (no wonder they do well).
I won't waste any more time on this "helpful suggestion".

and help you out anyway. If you are looking for mod free
unicums you can watch Cody Menz, Orzanel, or Sirfoch. Sirfoch
comes with the benefit of almost never firing gold. Your
problem is that you are wanting to know things that no one is going
to explain. You should be looking to see what kind of
positions they use and try and get an idea of how they use the map.
1. Unicums don't follow people they go to their chosen
spot and of their thing. 2. This is just dumb. Most
streamers don't do that at all. 3. At this point you are just
reaching for things to complain about. 4. This isn't true
either, sounds like you watched one stream for a couple of games.
5. A lot streamers are modless and if not why don't you just
ask what mods they are running? Another stupid criticism.
6. That isn't why they do well, lots of players have this and
aren't unicums.
The bottom line is you need to stop being a whiner and decide if you want to get better or not. If not I would suggest finding another game to play because you will get super frustrated. Either way stop acting like a baby.

DomoSapien: Hey Tankers!
So you probably noticed it's not Monday. Sorry about that, tournaments have been running me ragged. Better late than never though, right? This week's map is Paris. Fire up the video below, and journey through the streets of War-Torn Paris while diving into the guide. So, I know Paris definitely isn't most players' favorite map, but it's actually pretty straightforward. There are some common pitfalls that should be avoided, and aggressive plays tend to make or break the tide of battle on this map rather quickly. High Risk, High Reward is the name of the game here. Lightly armored TD's and LT's may struggle to make a huge difference if they don't commit to potentially losing some aggressive early-game plays. What that play ends up being may vary based on the enemy team composition, but hopefully this guide will help you come up with some creative solutions. MAP GUIDE
THE SOUTH FLANKThis is where most of
your heavies will typically go. There is a point I wanted to
mention (shoutout to Cajun_ for the tip!) And that's not
represented on my minimap above. You'll see the three green heavy
squares in the South; if you have the mobility, decent gun
depression, and a strong turret, you can push up under the bridge,
and play the little shaded area around the southernmost corner of
the buildings. This will allow you to stay hulldown and put
pressure on heavies spawning in the East that are trying to
maintain a hull-down position as well. This map is all about
playing corners, and playing them well. There are few positions
that allow you a lot of cover, so trade carefully and avoid losing
large amounts of HP early on.
If you spawn in the East, you'll either want to rush down into the same area and play the corner, or hull-down above. Another option is to push further South around the buildings and trade with tanks up on the bridge.EXPAND

THE MIDDLE
FLANKThis flank is a risky one, but that's where those aggressive
plays come in. LT's with a good camo rating and view range can push
up one of these main roads and spot heavies that are making their
way down to the South. If your allies are paying attention, you can
get some devastating early-game hits in that will leave your
heavies sitting pretty on a nice HP advantage before starting their
brawl. TD's can set up here early to support the spotters, and land
some of those heavy hits. If you track an enemy on the cross, it's
possible to take them out completely. If the opportunity presents
itself, LT's can also rush up the middle and grab a perch in the
center plaza. A little more on that later.EXPAND
THE NORTH FLANKThis
flank can be one of the most frustrating to play. A common pitfall
is over-committing your TD's to the bushes around the
initial corner spawn. It's definitely a possible location to pick,
but do so with caution because it's a very common spot,
and SPG's will often blind-fire these locations, just like the
"Islands" in the North as well. Mediums can poke up and down these
islands, or play carefully towards the Southwest and Southeast
corners. Utilize hard cover and hull-down positions whenever
possible, because if you peek you'll probably be spotted. If the
opportunity presents itself you can push up the stairs to the
Center Plaza, but be aware of firing angles.
Another tip from Cajun_, pushing up to the enemy island early on is a pretty solid play for LT's; you can keep the island proxy spotted, and you should have the view range to negate the camo rating + bonus from bushes around the corner for lurking TD's. Pushing out to move you out of this location might be difficult if the enemy team doesn't have control of the center plaza.

routinely saw 30k+ players on during prime time. Now we get
lucky to get over 25k+ with 20-22k being the normal non-summer
number. So very much 1/3 of the player base died within a
month of 9.18. It is what it is. Before that we slowly
bled another 4-5k players due to other issues but 9.18 was a player
killer. There really isn't any arguing with that.

about what players want or being incompetent. Neither one is
good but I doubt anyone would intentionally kill their cash cow \
job. Mostly I think it comes down to arrogance and believing
that they know better than everyone else. They should have
had more maps ready but they didn't. I am guessing they will
bring out the two new maps at the end of the summer or the fall and
they will slowly start filling in the old maps as they get
updated. Very dumb not to have had more of the old maps
ready. Any of them that aren't suitable for high tier play
should be given limitations on what tiers can see the map.
Overall I think 9.18 caused serious damage to the game and they thought the new graphics would fix the problem. Basically they didn't even get a meaningful bump in player numbers with 1.0 because while they prettied the game up they didn't fix any of the actual issues. Hopefully though Frontline is a sign of a turn around as it was finally something different AND fun. Time will tell but I would be shocked if they shut down the NA server in the next 3 years. Eventually when they do we will merge with the EU server farm and we will see what happens from there.
Overall while I get frustrated with some of the problems with the game I still have fun so I continue to play. Once that changes I will move on having had a great run and lots of fun. I don't see the need for the incessant whiners who try and wreck other peoples fun.

http://wot-news.com/...rver/us/norm/en TeriyakiTanker: Easy explanation1. Game is old2. 3/5/7 MM killed
off about 1/3 of the NA server in one amazingly awesome
update3. Game still has most of the problems it has had ever
since I started4. In tier tank balance is not as good as it
should be, not to mention balance between higher and lower tiers
which is even worse5. Game is really hard for new players to
get into
I could add a few more major problems but I think you get the idea.

Gnomon: Hey, everyone! I just wanted to drop by and give you
some news about the Global Map for Season 9. I'm more than happy to
go over the details here, but be sure to check out our article on
it - Global Map: Season 9 First, Season 9
on the Global Map is from July 17 until August 27. If you are
not familiar with the Global Map, is a great way for Clans to
compete with other members of the community while earning valuable
resources. Due to this, the leaderboard for Season 9 will only
display Gold earned this season. Each time you earn Gold from the
Global Map in your Clan vault (which can be done by completing
missions or owning/taking resources) increases your Clan's
standing. The rules are pretty simple, the Clan that
earns the most Gold wins! The rewards for Clan members
will depend on the Clan's position on the leaderboard. We’ll also
be testing a new mechanic that can maximize a Clan’s earning
potential. Playing FieldThe Tier X front (for Tier 10-8 tanks)
will include 128 provinces. Landing provinces will be around 16% of
the total number of all provinces within the
front. Prime Times for the Tier X
front: 16:00-20:00 PT | 18:00-22:00 CT | 19:00-23:00
ET Leaderboard and Rewards PLEASE NOTE: The Clan rewards
will be received by the members of the prize-winning Clan at the
end of the season, provided they have at least 5 completed battles

Link on message: #11724617
CabbageMechanic, on May 16 2018 - 08:11, said: Essentially this - the feedback from Frontlines has been
almost entirely positive and the Dev team is fully aware.
However, there is definitely some fine-tuning and optimization work
to be done and the hard data gathered from this session will assist
in that. I have no timeline to give at the moment, but I am
confident that you have not seen the last (or the best) of
Frontline.

timeline we can provide at this time as to its return, but we are
confident that's not the last you will see of Frontline.

enough time to get a post up and create a report. But
keep an eye out on the WCFR forums, as I will definitely post
