Subject: Tech Tree Focus: USSR Data Results
Link on message: #3220780
Link on message: #3220780
GeneralDirection: Last week we kicked off the change to the Tech Tree Focus events,
shifting from a 50% credit discount on the vehicle purchase to a
40% credit income bonus for the listed vehicles. You've told us
that you're unhappy with the change, and so I wanted to share some
gameplay data on the event that ran last week. We'd like to get
your feedback on how you felt the event went, and whether or not
you feel the increase in battles is enough to warrant the
event.
Here are the tanks included in the event, as well as the increase in battles compared to a similar period in which the tanks were not part of an event.
BT-7 - 20% more battles over the event period
A-20 - 14% more battles over the event period
T-34 - 26% more battles over the event period
T-34-85 - 9% more battles over the event period We're weighing the success of the event and may make some changes for January. We'd love to hear ideas on other ways this event could be run, other than returning to the 50% discount (we already know that's an option).

XMdead, on Dec 09 2012 - 20:12, said: Putting this in terms that WG might understand or care about:Presumably the whole point of "events" is to attract players to try out and play the event tanks.
Credit bonus events are already far less effective than tank sale events. You just have to look at how many people buy or use the tank during the event. People who buy a tank... will eventually play it for enough games to research or elite it. On the other hand people who play a tank during a credit event will at best play it for the few days of the event.
100% credit bonus events are barely enough to attract players depending on the tank. 50% (let alone 40% and 30%) will attract nobody to play. And the proof is highly visible by just playing this weekend... we barely saw any of the event tanks. It would have been better to not even have that part of the event.

It's the feeling that we have no influence whatsoever over the game because the devs in Minsk will pay no attention to us no matter what you do. I know there are exceptions to this like the MM tightening, but in general, this seems to be correct. I realize there's not much you can do about it, but I wanted to put it out there so you can at least see it.

GeneralDirection: Understandable. You'll see a lot next year that NA has contributed
to. I'm looking forward to sharing it when I can, because your
voice is definitely being heard.
That said, what do you feel is an area where the NA community is being ignored?

to move current tier 8 arty to tier 10 and then back-fill a couple
of the arty spots so arty is now up to tier 10 the same as the
rest. It will help the amount of arty in the lower rounds but
really when I join a match at tier 10 and there's 8 arty on each
side there all tier 8 and 7 arty, just means they'll all be tier 9
and 10 instead.
Also someone mentioned earlier it can be fun to "break through the lines" and don't camp and your fine. That's easier said then done at tier 10. The arty your against, tier 8, have a huge amount of logged hours so generally they know what there doing. Also when its 7-8 arty on each side odds are 1-2 on each team is pretty good or really good at what they do, when you see T50--2's getting picked off by arty at full speed, and not driving in a straight line,. you know arty is decent.
I think the best still was having 4 T-92's on one side shooting gold (they also had 3 other arty), the T-92's could easily splash to death anyone behind buildings, it was funny and yet so sad at the same time lol.

GeneralDirection: We plan to introduce tiers 9 and 10 for SPGs, but it has nothing to
do with this.
