Subject: Arty updates coming...
Link on message: #3216006
viglundr, on Dec 09 2012 - 18:44, said: This "fix" won't do much if its what I heard discussed, the change
to move current tier 8 arty to tier 10 and then back-fill a couple
of the arty spots so arty is now up to tier 10 the same as the
rest. It will help the amount of arty in the lower rounds but
really when I join a match at tier 10 and there's 8 arty on each
side there all tier 8 and 7 arty, just means they'll all be tier 9
and 10 instead.
Also someone mentioned earlier it can be fun to "break through the lines" and don't camp and your fine. That's easier said then done at tier 10. The arty your against, tier 8, have a huge amount of logged hours so generally they know what there doing. Also when its 7-8 arty on each side odds are 1-2 on each team is pretty good or really good at what they do, when you see T50--2's getting picked off by arty at full speed, and not driving in a straight line,. you know arty is decent.
I think the best still was having 4 T-92's on one side shooting gold (they also had 3 other arty), the T-92's could easily splash to death anyone behind buildings, it was funny and yet so sad at the same time lol.

GeneralDirection:
We plan to introduce tiers 9 and 10 for SPGs, but it has nothing to do with this.

GeneralDirection: This. I do have to say that we appreciate how passionate the posts
get here, but ultimately there is a lot more going on with a
decision than "this one player said X."
I respect Garbad's opinion because even though he has a hate for SPGs, he drives a lot of interesting--and sometimes positive--discussion about the game in general.
I felt it was appropriate to mention him in the response for that reason--not because we're caving to any particular stance on SPGs.
In the end we'll do what we feel is best for the health of the game.

GeneralDirection: They are. The problem is that the perception should be that you
receive a $6 package at the same rate as buying $100 worth of gold.
This isn't the case--it's not the intent of the gift shop.
For transparency sake, package prices are based on a scaling formula just like gold.
Like I said during my AMA, we're discussing ways to make these purchases compelling for yourself, while also keeping with the spirit of the gift shop: gifting to others.

But there are some really good hard working people like you and some other awesome people that work for wargamming, even me when I worked my job should be able to deserve to have some attention.
I really do like this game and it is one of my favorites to play, but the management for some reason takes things the opposite path to making thing historical inaccurate. Im not saying it's you or the other good people but for those that does not make a improvement needs to reconsider there ideas.
Overall, I do appreciate some people saying they are trying to interact with customers but I don't even see that happen in a lot of companies. Battlefield 3 is a good example of good customer service and you might be familiar with there company.

I've been thinking about the new policy of not offering discounts. I thought you may be interested in how it will impact the real world dollars.
I spend gold on 3 things:
1) Garages/barracks
2) Demounting equipment
3) Training crews
By not offering discounts on tanks, my purchases have dropped to almost nothing (2 tanks in the last month). I was buying 1 or 2 each week. Since I find that I no longer need to do any of the 3 things above, I am no longer using gold. Hence, I don't need to spend dollars to buy it.
I don't know how many other players are in the same boat (or tank), but I suspect at the very least, it is reducing the tank buys. Since offering discounts of credits doesn't cost WoT anything, I am puzzled as to why it was discontinued.
Oh well.

The goal of these events is to help a player who is focused on a branch, but we don't want to completely remove the incentive to expand the tanks in your garage.

Oh well.

I've been thinking about the new policy of not offering discounts. I thought you may be interested in how it will impact the real world dollars.
I spend gold on 3 things:
1) Garages/barracks
2) Demounting equipment
3) Training crews

GeneralDirection: Thanks for the feedback. I'll discuss this and the results of the
thread tomorrow with Major_Rampage.
The goal of these events is to help a player who is focused on a branch, but we don't want to completely remove the incentive to expand the tanks in your garage.

GeneralDirection: Folks,
We appreciate the feedback. Keep an eye out for a thread tomorrow regarding the USSR focus. We want your thoughts on the results of it so we're going to be very transparent with it.
Right now I'm thinking of a hybrid event, but we need to decide soon, so your feedback will be important in this.
