Laera: I'm pretty sure the plan is to roll out the same system across all of our NA forums. I'll have to grab Mugsy_ next time I see him and see what the ETA is.

It seems that some mods would just browse popular threads that die and just issue RO's up to two weeks after the threads last post.

Laera: Warnings and ROs should not be issued for old posts. I'm not entirely sure what the timeframe is but you should not be getting warned for something you posted 2 weeks ago. If you see that happen please send a ticket in to support or send Jewel_Thief a PM.

Laera: If you've received a point it generally means you've either severely broken a rule (such as you cussed a mod out or have been posting inappropriate content) or have ignored a warning. Acquire 10 points and receive a permanent vacation from the forums.
Now before you start to worry, everyone has had their points reset to 0 AND we are working with moderation to be FAIR AND CONSISTENT. If you feel you've been wrongfully given a warning or a point, feel free to talk to support and they will review your case.

Laera: Welcome to Off-Topic!
Here in Off-Topic we can talk about anything not related to World of Tanks.
Note that this does not mean that anything goes. All of the regular forum guidelines apply and will be strongly enforced here. Please remember to keep posts and content PG-13 (meaning anything you'd find in a PG-13 movie is ok, but once it crosses that line in to R it's a no-no).
We all have strong opinions on things like religion, politics, etc. This is not the place for that, so please take those types of discussions off of our forums as we we want to keep this a safe place and not offend anyone. If we see threads pop up here that are erupting in a flame war, they will be closed down.
Now that we've gotten that out of the way, please enjoy Off-Topic! :smiles:
TL;DR - Use your common sense and have fun!

Subject: Moderation F.A.Q.
Link on message: #5520430

Laera: To clearly communicate our forum moderation policies, below is a collection of responses to some of our most frequently asked questions on these procedures:
What is a Forum Warning?
Warnings are issued for educational purposes. They are most often issues for a first-time offense or minor violation of our Forum Rules and Community Guidelines. Warnings are worth 0 points and do not count towards your point total.
What are Warning Points?
Warning Points are given when players are found violating our Forum Rules and Community Guidelines, or who have repeated a violation of a warning (see above).
What is an R.O.?
A Read Only (R.O.) is when you will not be able to post on the forums but will still be able to read content. Those in R.O. have violated our Forum rules.
Do Warnings and Points expire?
Yes. Most warnings and points will expire between 60 and 180 days, however the record of the offense will remain. Serious infractions and points acquired from them will not expire. You can always view your warnings on your profile page. Only you and the moderation team can see your list of warnings.
What constitutes a permanent forum ban?
With this new system in place, when an account reaches 10 points it will be up for review for a permanent removal from our forums. Keep in mind that most points expire after 60 to 90 days. If you are worried you are on track to 10 points, please take some time to review our Community Guidelines or PM a Community Team member.
Can those who have been previously banned return?
Those who were previously banned under the old system will remained banned. They are free to submit an individual appeal to our Support Team for reconsideration.
Why do I need 20 games to post?
The main reason for this rule is to prevent spam posting and sock puppetry. All forums have a 20 game minimum requirement except for the following sections:New Players
News & Information
The Chieftain's Hatch
Technical Support & Bug Reporting
World of Tanks Wiki Project I Wish to Dispute my Warning or Rule Violation. Who Should I Contact?
Please contact Support if you wish to dispute any rule violations. DO NOT message the Wargaming staff about disputes; these issues can only be handled by our Support team.
