The_Warhawk:   Very much agreed. I've always had a soft spot for the Torpedo Data Computer found on the old Fleet Boats. There's a great example of one on the USS Pampanito in San Francisco.

Hypnotik: Don't be surprised if you see a few demo accounts running around in Tier X matches every once in a while between now and the end of the Campaign. A few of us WG employees will be playing in the Obj 907, VK 72.01, and M60 painted up in the special camouflage that we'll be giving out for the Campaign.   If you run into us, feel free to post a screenshot or a link to your replay in this topic.

The_Chieftain:   It is interesting to note the two competing viewpoints here. For the record, I agree with everything 75lockwood has said. Spall liner, repair kits, repair skills, toolbox are all mandatory. And never take your 'foot off the gas'. you have a foot of armour and (eventually) a 6" gun. This is not a tank for sitting in the back and sniping. This is a tank for getting into people's faces and making them miserable.

The_Chieftain: The IS-7 hatch was open, so I was able to stick my head in and get a quick overview to sate my curiousity. No photo, though.

Lert: To echo the chorus above:   - Premium tanks give +50% crew XP - Premium tanks don't need dedicated crews, you can train any crew from the same class and the same nation on it (for example, a russian premium TD can use any russian TD crew)   This combination means that you can train your dedicated TD crew up a lot more and a lot faster.   In addition:   - Premium tanks are cheaper to repair - Premium tanks earn a significant bonus on credits. For example, where a King Tiger match might earn you 30k credits, the same match in a Lowe would've gotten you 50k credits.   This combination means that premium tanks are a real good money maker, to fund high tier tanks that might cost you money to run after supply and repair.   Furthermore:   - Premium tanks are 'elite' right off the bat.   This means that any XP earned on a premium tank can be converted to free XP or dedicated to training the crew even faster. right from battle #1.   Yes, on the whole a premium tank isn't as 'good' as same tier fully upgraded tanks (T14 vs T1 Heavy for example). But they are usually quirky, unique and fun vehicles, along with the benefits outlined above.

dance210:   If you have 3 or fewer players, don't bother entering the battle. DQ time. If you have 4 players, you need one of each tank type. If you have 5 players, you need one of each tank type, plus one other (doesn't matter the tank type). If you have 6 players, you need one of each tank type, plus two others (need to be two different tank types). If you have 7 players, you need one of each tank type, plus three others (need to be three different tank types). If you have 8 or more players, you need two of each tank type. After that, bring whatever you feel like.

Lert: +1 for the post on principle. However, I'm going to play devil's advocate here and argue that the engine exhausts you're used to probably burned a lot hotter than a 1950's era diesel's. Were you an Abrams man by any chance? That thing doesn't have exhausts, it has vertical barbecues.
