Lert:   Missed this one.   The problem with this is that it's a lot easier and more common to survive with 5 hp at tier 1 (5 hp is like 4% of your total health) than at tier 10 (for a maus, 5 hp is like 0.3%). It would have to be scaled to - ... well, a scale. Like, 'survive a match with 1% health remaining'.

Lert:   Exactly. It also wouldn't really be fair to leave TD's out of this entirely, so .. It's a problem.  Another problem is that TD's already have a relatively low health pool - what is 300% your own health in a tier 8 TD is like barely over your own hitpoints in an E-100 or Maus.

Lert: Right now, shells are a point without any dimensions or size. You could have a 152mm shell, but if the centerpoint misses a target by 1mm, it's still a miss. IRL if a centerpoint of a 152mm shell misses a target by 1mm, there's still slightly less than half the shell's volume that grazes the armor.   This also gives rise to enormous shells passing through the tiniest of spaces between armor plates - we've all seen those shells that fly clear between the turret and the hull of a target without doing any damave. If a shell actually had dimensions, this would be a far less common problem:       - In the left example, the way it currently is, the shell is a point without dimensions but the characteristic '152mm', which only comes in play when the point hits something. This allows the shell to pass through the 40mm gap unopposed, and do nothing.   - In the right example, the way it would be if the shell had actual dimensions, instead of being a dimension-less point. In this case, a 152mm shell can't pass through a 40mm gap, and would have hit the armor of the target. After this, penetration and damage calculations can take place.   But wait, there's more:   Armor in this game behaves likes shells in that it too has less dimensions than it has in reality. In this game, a plate has zero actual thickness, it just has a length and breadth, and then a characteristic of 'thickness' that only comes into play when something hits it.   This matters greatly in glancing hits. IE, hits that only barely touch the target vehicle, very narrow angle hits, situations where overmatch and ricochet start becoming important.   If an armor plate has 0 actual thickness, it's impossible to hit the armor plate dead-on. Looking at the plate from the side you're either to the left or to the right of it. It's like a sheet of paper, which - in practical terms - also has no thickness. Try poking the side of a sheet of paper with a needle. You can't. The needle either glances because you're off-angle, goes to the right of the piece of paper or to the left of it.   The way armor exists currently in the game:     Now, in your opinion, how would the game change if both shells and armor were given their actual dimensions instead of being flat and dimensionless? I know this would give a whole heaping pile of additional load on the servers for armor pen calculations etc, but how would it affect gameplay?   - How would it affect those near misses and (some of the) ghost shells where shells pass through impossibly tiny cracks / spaces in building / armor / rock geometry? - How would it affect ricochet and overmatch? - Would it have a negative or positive effect on the game? Or would it mostly stay the same?   Discuss.   This thread is mostly just a thought-experiment. I am neither arguing for nor against these theoretical changes. I know WG won't implement them anyways.

Lert:   So which is it? Make them epic, or make them easier? I already think these would be too common to be epics. They're more along the lines of a top gun in terms of how common they would be, and those aren't epic either.

Lert:   That is a far point. I added the 3 tier difference because LT's are balanced differently from MT's and TD's and have heavier matchmaking. One could argue that 2 tiers is enough, or that the 3 tiers tier-difference goes from the match's battle rating instead of top tier tank rating (in which case T8 LT's would be able to get them in BT11 matches).

Lert: He is counting the mentioned conflicts like Vietnam, Korea, Iran / Iraq, Falklands, etc. Observe:     1) He's counting 'battle death', not 'war death' 2) You can see spikes in the 'battle death' count around the times those conflicts were happening   No, this video is not comprehensive. It's not meant to be. Hence why his channel name is 'kurzgesagt', ('short said' ) or in proper english, 'in short' or 'in a nutshell'. As others have stated, the author intended to address a trend, give a brief but possible explanation of that trend, and express that it is only a trend; that more time needs to pass before we can draw real conclusions from it.   As for him stating WWII to be the 'last war', he could have meant 'large scale war', I'd have to re-watch but don't have the time now. The others wars were far smaller scale.

Lert:   Those are epic ones, very difficult to achieve. Ideally medals come in a variety of flavors from easy to achieve to near-impossible to achieve. Right now there is nothing below 'very difficult' specifically for bottom tier tanks.

Lert: 'Scrapper': Do the most damage of your team in a victory, in a bottom tier medium or heavy (at least two tiers difference) and survive 'Patient'. Do the most damage of your team in a victory, in a bottom tier TD (at least two tiers difference) without taking damage in return 'Weightlifter'. Do the most damage on your team in a victory, in a bottom tier light tank (at least 3 tiers difference)   A few medals for good players to farm and medium-skilled players (like me) to strive for and bad players to complain about "waah they should be easier".

Lert:   You're very new and not seeing the forest for the trees. It's all very overwhelming. Lert: The Mk I is a HD model, and made to higher standards of accuracy than the SD models already in the game. Especially older ones. Ofcourse, this does not automagically mean that the Mk I is correct over the Mk III, but if I were to venture a guess, I would still say that the Mk I is more accurate in-game than the Mk III, a very, very old SD model.

The_Chieftain:   That's interesting.   I'm not going to write it off as a hatchet job quite yet. I've found a number of early-hull M4s with a 76mm turret, as I roam the web, including some old photos, but none of a welded-hull variant. Three possibilities come to mind, only one of which is "Museum grabbed whatever it could find to make a Sherman"

Hypnotik:   Those are not enabled in the current version of the global map. I wouldn't have a problem with it if they were around, especially since there's already a 1x and 4x icon, but it's unfortunately not possible.

dance210:   Once a team is Pending Approval, the team captain cannot modify the team (add/remove players). If you need to make changes to the roster you can: Email tournaments@wargamingamerica.com (best way - everyone will see it) Or send me a PM   When the request is sent in, we can either make those changes for you, or set your team back to Forming so you can change it as needed.   If you have any other questions, please let me know.   Thanks!
