Lert: I should know better than to continue playing when I'm already
salty at things in general. Then this eedyut comes along.
I was driving my Kv-2. Top tier, fisherman bay. So to the
town I went. Supporting a T-150, pushing up the main road, getting
a nice peek-a-boom going vs a KV-2, O-I, Churchill VII and some
kibble. Then this - ... 'IQ-challenged' SU-100Y comes along and
decides that the position I'm in belongs to him, so he physically
bullies me aside to get a shot, ruining my shot and shoving me into
the area the T-150 needs to back up to. What I did next does not
fill me with pride - I blocked him from backing up, so he got
killed. He became incredibly salty after that ofcourse. So
to the community I would like to apologize. What I did wasn't nice.
I paid back rudeness with rudeness. To the SU-100Y driver:
Do not bully and shove people aside just because you believe you
have a right to the spot on the map they're already on, mmk? If you
want a shot, drive somewhere else. Also, the above apology does not
extend to you. The threat of teamkilling me and yelling insults at
me kinda makes me believe you're not a very nice person.

Not too much above CL-class, most ships firing over their bows are
at risk of breaking their bows away - not by hitting them directly,
but rather from the concussive force of the muzzle blast. My
father served aboard the Salem, CA 139 - he told me that she had to turn-away
in order to unmask her guns so that the concussive force of gunnery
would dissipate over the water. BTW, did you know that one
of the 5-inch mounts aboard every Iowa was manned and serviced by
Marines?

in a fight. Indeed, the ability to superfine the #2 turret directly
over the #1 seems to have been a design requirement for North
Carolina. I have to say, I wouldn't be keen on being in the #1
turret at the time, but there you go. If that last line is
correct, it seems to be correct only partially. The 5" mounts which
were manned by Marines on New Jersey, for example,
are specifically identified by the EGA painted on the sides. I
seem to recall they were numbers 7 and 8.

for a few reasons. 1. It's a tournament that will likely
happen every week, so I want people to be more aware of it.
2. Not every clan participates in the campaign, and not every clan
plays at the earliest time for the campaign. Leaving the tournament
running gives those clans something to do, if they desire.

Lert: The story behind it is that tier 5 used to meet tier 8, but the MM
spread got reduced so it only sees up to tier 7. The L/70 on a
mobile medium hull at tier 5 would just be OP, so it was removed.
Now if you absolutely must have the L/70 at tier 5 your only choice
is the StuG III G. The Pz IV Ausf. H with the L/48 or the
105mm are still very good though, in the mobile flanker way.

The_Chieftain: I wonder if part of the Alaska problem is that the US Navy had a
dramatic change of opinion as to what they considered to be the
designations of ships. Remember those ten thousand ton nuclear
powered frigates? That the Alaskas were considered something other
than bog standard cruisers is obvious both by the CC and CB
designations, and the fact that unlike both CAs and CLs, they were
given names other than of cities. It seems fairly reasonable to
conclude that the "B" in "CB" was derived from the "BB", even if CC
was the official designation for the type. That the US Navy finally
settled on the type "large cruiser" is instructive, but not
definitive. There are plenty of examples of ships officially named
one thing despite their effectively being something else.
(Invincible class ASW cruisers being a wonderful case in point).
Ultimately, there is no international standard on how to
name a type of ship. Some go by size. Some by role. Even manning
levels can be used (Germany does that today, defining ships by the
presence or not of a first officer). If one defined by role
instead of characteristic, then arguably "being able to beat up on
cruisers but not battleships" could lead people to categorise the
ship as a battlecruiser. It's a very nebulous area, I would wager
that the only definitive statement which could be made was "it was
on the naval list as a Large Cruiser"

doing in my KV-2 because I used AP against him instead of
HE. Know your damage and pen. Know your target's armor values.
The TOG was directly facing me, at ~400 meters. With 76mm sloped
front hull armor and 114mm turret face armor, my 86mm pen HE
would've probably not gone through and I would've needed 4 or 5
shots to kill him. 136mm pen AP+ went through like butter and it
took only 2 shots. That's why I carry a few rounds of the stuff to
begin with, for situations like that. The O-I I shot with HE, AP+
would've been useless there. Use the correct ammo for the job,
people.

M1s now come with safety interlocks to stop the turret traversing
with the driver's hatch open unless an override is used. That
