The_Chieftain:   You, sir, are one of the few who agrees with me. I've always thought that the 'nerf' was something of a wash overall. When they decreased the front hull armor (which you shouldn't be relying on in a US tank, let alone one with huge turret weak spots), they buffed the speed and accuracy. Then they buffed it again. I couldn't believe my luck. (Then they did the same thing to M103)

View PostGet_Clicked_On, on Feb 16 2017 - 13:19, said:   Would it have to go longer? Like i get defense is a stringer side, but what if the number on games didnt have to change a lot, like if you win on one side then you do to the other, and then the final game have it both attack and defense. I know this might get some people upset they lost cuz the other team had defense well then that team would move on to an attack.

dance210:   If you only play one match per round, the system isn't smart enough to "know" if you played attack or defense. Theoretically, that means it's possible for one team to be stuck on attack or defense for the entire night.   The only way around that would be to play two matches per round, that way each teams plays one attack and one defense. A team would need to win both matches in order to earn the 3 points for a victory.

GhostPrime:   I apologize about your experience, not all in game items are the same across the two clients. We do have separate codes and are region specific. I'll shoot you a Pm.

The_Chieftain: I have never experienced a misfire. I have, however, experienced a separated case. After a series of rapid fire, we attempted to clear the gun, but trying to pull the rim out resulted in the casing getting stuck. Realising that pulling the case out would result in propellant all over the tank, we kicked it back in, and pretended like the gun was clear for a few days, until we found a safe part of the countryside to fire the round off without attracting much attention.

I received a message stating my teams place in yesterday's group, so does that mean it is over? I guess what I am asking is if there is going to be another round tonight?   Thanks

dance210:   Hi tiegermp!   The Platournament is a one day tournament and is officially complete.   The dates are based off your local computer time. So it is very possible if the tournament end time is set for the next day local time, it will show the tournament as two days for you (e.g. tournament set end time is 10 pm PT / 1 am ET may cause the system to say it's Feb 14-15 for anyone using Eastern time).   Hope that helps!

It took me some time looking at various reports to come up with the same general situation.    Basically, main spillway [edited] up, engineers tried to use the emergency spillway, emergency spillway really [edited] up, back to using main spillway and what damage happens will happen (and cross fingers it doesn't erode the entire spillway).

The_Chieftain:   it's what hasn't been mentioned in the media is the nasty bit.  Briefings to the response forces yesterday were talking about potential flooding of Sacramento. There was a reason that the State mobilized 8,000 Guardsmen.  Basically every unit North of Bakersfield. That is a huge mobilization.

The_Chieftain:   I can see arguments all ways. My Audi is 12 years old, I haven't made a payment on it in six or seven years. (Maintenance is another matter). The SL was bought just under three years in, 28k miles, at well under half sticker price. That said, I'm looking at replacing the VW with a lease. I like the idea of my daily driver being always within warranty, and the price seems better than that of buying new and trading after three/four years.

The_Chieftain: Hang on, who are you suggesting is doing the forcing? Nobody is claiming that this 'car-of-the-month' club or whatever you want to call Caddy's MaaS system, is going to be forced upon anyone. That's another topic entirely from cities which as a matter of policy (either supported by Uber or not) are trying to reduce the amount of cars on their streets.

View PostKilljoyCutter, on Feb 14 2017 - 18:03, said:   I think I'll stick with owning my own car, this "service" is five times the car payments I'm almost done with on my car, and would provide nothing of value to me.  The entire concept of Mobility as a Service is one that has no utility to me, and no bearing on my life, except as yet another thing that companies are going to try to impose on me in place of what I already have that's working better and costs me less.  (Almost anything sold as a "service" increasingly falls under this category.)    But that's just my take on it, someone else might find it useful -- I just get sick of having this stuff increasingly PUSHED at me.     Also, more proof that Uber is fcking evil.   When Uber talks about mobility, they’re talking not only about replacing taxis with ride hailing, but public transportation itself. If they weren’t, they wouldn’t be lobbying cities to reduce the amount of parking, or to replace bus lines they claim are inefficient. Uber’s mobility plan isn’t merely to annihilate and re-create taxis and pooling, but to move into neighboring mobility verticals as well.   "Lobbying cities to reduce the amount of parking" -- talk about trying to use the power of government to force a captive consumer base...

The_Chieftain:   I'm viewing this from the perspective of a person who lives where there is no parking issue, and I still think it's a good idea. Example, one serious concern of mine is that I'm able to get over the Sierra Nevadas every month to get to drill. It's the primary reason I keep my old Audi S4 in the garage. (That and sentimentality). I keep winter tyres on it instead of the summer grip machines it's supposed to be driven on and came with. I'm a divorced dad. Every now and then, not often, but every now and then, I need to have something to carry daughter around in, maybe with fiancee as well. That means four-seater. Which is also my commuter vehicle, boring though it may be. But I like things that go vroom, and want a V8 when I'm on my own (Fortunately so does fiancee). So I have at my house three cars. The Audi, used less than once a month, the boring cheap sedan, and a high-power roadster. That suddenly starts accumulating a fair few dollars a month in expenses, insurance, and so on. Wheras if Chevy started doing this, I could end up with a Tahoe the occasional snowy weekend, a Corvette convertible for the summer when my daughter is away with her mom, and a boring Malibu (or SS) for family use when she's around, and if for some reason I need a pick-up truck, a Silverado. All new, and without any maintenance or insurance costs, and eating only one parking space. That starts to seriously redress the cost imbalance.   A lot of cities are trying to reduce cars in them as a matter of policy. Some use congestion or smog fees within city limits. Others, like San Francisco, are using parking spaces and road capacity. Even without restricting parking deliberately, San Francisco is a terrible place to find parking for one car, let alone two. Average monthly fees for one car is $400. This is probably why Caddy has picked NYC as the test case: If there's any place in the US where there is merit to the idea of being able to use only one parking spot for multiple different types of car, this is it.
