eekeeboo: The reason is to prevent people from just spamming battles
and not caring or putting effort in trying to maximise battle count
not win count. When you have any battle, it's usually
nicer for people to have a more relaxing time, but overall more
complaints because people play more passive and focus on just
farming damage not winning (as highlighted above).

communicate, so i'll bite. While i do understand the necessity to
move the videos to the video section, those 5-6 threads you've
mentioned aren't the best argument for this point, as most of them
appeared as a consequence to this thread being unfairly moved from
the gameplay section. People perceived this decision as unfair,
that's why they kept making threads about it there, to keep it
where it rightfully belonged in the first place. In my opinion,
each thread should be actually analysed for what it is. So it
contains a video. Is it about the video's content - like a good
battle or so? Move it to video section. Is it about promoting the
channel or stream of it's author? Move it to video section. Is it
about promoting some shady content or person? 86 it and hand out a
nice fluffy ban. But when it is about nothing of those, but
primarily about emphasizing gameplay aspects for discussion, leave
it in the damn gameplay section, simply becouse there's where it
belongs. As for the sticky threads - that SPG one in particular -
the point i was trying to make is this: artillery is one of the
most problematic mechanics of this game and it influences gameplay
in many and complex ways. There are multiple aspects of it that
need to be discussed (that's if you guys at WG really care for
feedback), and that can't be done in a single sticky thread, no
matter how much you may want it. It's just not possible. Think
about how it would be like if you tried to concentrate the whole
gameplay section in a single sticky thread. It's just not
practical, at all. People will bring different aspects in debate at
the same time, discussions will overlap and shortly it will end up
in a big pointless clusterfu... errrm... mess. Becouse it's only
natural in those circumstances. And that's exactly what's
happening in the sticky arty thread. Not very constructive,
wouldn't you agree? I know there was/is lots of spam about the
topic, but this doesn't justify suppressing proper threads on the
matter by simply dumping the whole domain in a sticky. It's like
trying to stuff a whale in a coke bottle and then wondering why it
doesn't fit. Kinda dumb, if we are to openly admit it. I don't mean
to discuss moderation here as i know it's against the rules, but i
just want to make an honest and (i hope) constructive suggestion:
Let people post constructive threads about arty, let us debate
every facet of it in separate threads, it'll only give you proper
feedback. You'll say ok, but there will be a lot of spam. Well of
course there will, but that's where you guys come in, isn't it? Let
constructive debates develop and where you see spam, simply
intervene. Delete spam threads/posts. Hand out nice fluffy bans
when and where they're needed. But in the mean time be there, in
the eye of the storm, collect feedback and show us you're there and
really care about it. Last but not least, i really wish i could
find that plenty of information and instances where my last
sentence in the post you've quoted would prove incorrect. I really
do, becouse i love this game too. But so far i can't. Yes, i look
to the changes announced to things like prem ammo and MM, but...
they're nothing more than vague announcements which in fact say
nothing. Not to mention that there's nothing about arty being
mentioned in those announcements. You're asking me to believe that
you guys at WG really care about our feedback while you do nothing
about a problem that's been constantly emphasized by the community
since the very beginning of the game? Trust me, it's really hard to
believe you under these circumstances. WG claims they care
about player feedback and want happy players, and then off they go
making nice graphics, emblems, decals and this kind of things,
while players keep pointing out the gameplay is destroyed by bad
MM, broken arty, unbalanced tanks, double standard ammo etc. If WG
really wants our trust, it's really easy to earn it: fix those
things first, and only then worry about cosmetic changes no one
asked for. It's really that simple. Best regards!
Sorry, but i completely disagree on this one. Vehicle
discussion forums are for discussing vehicle characteristics.
Threads about how arty as a class affects gameplay belong nowhere

threads in this section are about. But is it the aim for you? Or do
you have another goal with this section? I could think that
a goal for this section would be to promote good discussions
regarding perceived issues with the game like matchmaker. To
discuss what constitutes good gameplay (how fast/slow paced should
the battles be, for example) etc. The sad part
is that if I wanted any of this "Those subforums are for vehicle
discussion and guides and advice etc" While intention is clear, it
simply doesn't work. If I want to discuss how
arty/HTs/TDs/MTs/LTs or any specific tank currently work
within the game (their roles (perceived and actual) strengths and
weaknessess, good or bad design etc), I would be forced to post
here on gameplay instead of in the vehicle discussion subforum
forum if I was interested in getting input more then once/week or
something. I believe there is a lot that could be done to
this forum that would be fruitful for the company you represent.

Threads about how arty as a class affects gameplay belong nowhere
else but in Gameplay section.eekeeboo: I agree with you in part, but it's got to be done
carefully on the exceptions you make, as soon as you let one video
stay, you get people then saying (as they already have) "Why no
this video when that one is allowed, you just love QB" etc.
We found the most neutral thread not overly promoting and
made sure we kept the discussion where possible. Some threads from
the ones locked were discussing moderator actions as much as
linking the video again, which poses a different problem and leads
to more sanctions by the moderator team. We understand the
sensitivity of the topic and we want to encourage the discussion
and feedback, in this case, a small error in judgment was made,
that was remedied as soon as it was found out. After that I can
only explain the reasoning behind those actions and ask for
understanding and explain why things have to be this way, I'm not
sure if you remember the days when half the forum was arty threads
and the other half was "go here to twitch" threads or hammering on
certain youtubers. Each thread was assessed when we
made the decision to bring this thread to the main focus for
players to discuss as it broached the least amount of forum rules
and was the most neutral in tone with no bias on polls, or
complaining about actions/moderation or WG. These are the types of
discussions we want to encourage, objective and constructive.
The artillery threads, have all been discussed at length,
those that are legitimate discussion stay, but you will find a lot
of those artillery threads are not about feedback or discussion.
It's complaints or demanding changes because OP or broken or
insults on people who play the class. The aim was not
to suppress these threads, but to ensure that people remain
constructive and positive in the threads without it devolving into
midden distribution threads. The main reason for the one thread is
not to hide everything, but because arty threads go out of fashion
and slowly end up hidden, then a new one comes along and the great
cycle of forum arty life continues. (cue Lion King). I know it's
not the best or ideal, but unfortunately somewhat necessary to
prevent this frustration causing element of seeing the same thing
over and over. For upcoming announcements, the most
in-depth information (so far) will be coming at WG fest where
hopefully all the exciting news will answer all your Christmas
wishes. I, unfortunately, can't share more than this at this time,
but as soon as it hits and as soon as I can, I look forward to the
discussion. PS apologies for not saying thank-you for
the well structured point and feedback, It takes a lot to answer
these posts fully and not miss anything.

thread for instance. Next *I* didn't move anything, it's important
to distinguish this, once *I* and other members found this issue
and tried to fix it asap with a link to the threads and making sure
that not everyone receives the points and bans that would normally
come from such discussions on moderator actions. We did this
because we understand the sensitivity and want this discussion to
evolve and value the feedback. We understand its importance and the
need for players to share their opinions. This (I hope you
understand) needs to be done in a positive/constructive way as
possible with the least amount of toxicity. I do have
an aim for the gameplay section and I would like to work with the
team and look at making the structure of the forums clearer in the
future and helping to remove a lot of the spam and hateful topics
that tend to end up sticking around cluttering the place. It's
something I/we want to improve. Gameplay is for places
like issues and in-game mechanics, I agree. But like mentioned
above this section should be just as much about sharing good
information on playing the game or super secret tactics and players
helping one another just as much. For the last part,
please refer above, I'm less than 2 weeks in and don't want to
change too much too quickly with my current work-load. But you need
only look at the World of Warplanes forums (if you remember old to
now) on the changes I helped to bring around and make them easier
to navigate and better for players to contribute there. I have
similar dreams for these forums! "Let's make forums great again

NoobySkooby, on 12 December 2018 - 12:20 AM, said: Ah ok lol, nothing to do with outrage at censorship then,

all the discussion happened in one location, without the spam and
diversion. Unfortunately the way the discussion evolved in some
threads and the way moved threads were handled actually breached
more forum rules than the others. You will note the distinct lack
of mass ban wave and warning points for all the times the rules
were broken on the issue to illustrate understanding on the
sensitivity of the issue and ensuring people understand this is not
about censorship, this is about keeping the discussion on-topic,
constructive and not about promoting one streamer over another and
not opening QB or other streamers up to abuse or criticism for
expressing their views. (As you can see already happening

inconsistencies. Just like the Panther thread that is here on first
page now. You actions (WGs moderating team as a whole) do
lack consistency in what you do in regards to your own rules.
Sometimes you enforce that threads here should be about gameplay
(this thread got moved after all), but more often then not you do
nothing at all (panther thread, Leopard thread that I think is
still on 1st page, abbey thread that might still be on first page
etc). Maybe you should reformulate your rules so they are
consistent with your own actions. Why can this video
exist here in gameplay forum while the poll-thread you
recently moved to videos which contained more or less the same
discussion with same arguments can not. The content of either
thread is barely any different. Now we can't only have QB
video threads on first page of gameplay, so maybe you could do a
little bit of work and create a QB video thread which is pinned
(for now) and force all discussion about that matter into that
thread and just remove (not move, but remove, erase, delete) any
other thread regarding that issue.

From my perspective, it looks like you're upset about

don't agree with, that is essentially what you've just said in your
first sentence. Arty threads are moved and locked and stopped. But
there are so many and there is not just one moderator sat there
clicking and watching just for arty threads. Those
subforums are for vehicle discussion and guides and advice etc, not
for complaining, shaming and "whining" on a particular class in the
game. This particular thread was chosen because it's
the least "promotional" of the video and more neutral toned. Other
threads moved and locked discussed forum and moderator rules and
sanctions which is still against the rules. It's not about having
ONLY QB videos and threads, it's about advertising content and
discussing that content vs discussing actual gameplay. This thread
was the most on-topic for gameplay and discussing things about the
game, not just the video. (Again as highlighted in a previous
post.)

the hardest job would be in this case, to find ... lets say 10 ...
dedicated good players who are willing to spent their time to help
you balancing. Statistics dont say anything about broken tanks, but
for the "usual" ones they would quite fast find some good balancing
points. Your Devs are lacking any ... action ... to find a
good balancing. For Example the mentioned Tiger II - its a
very old vehicle, and time and changed Metas havent been good for
him. It features a very accurate Gun and a good Viewrange, but low
Alpha, big Silhoutte and non existent armor. Additionally its very
slow for beeing on such a shabby platform. All this you can read in
the tank section for at least 2 years (as the Armor Buffing and
Russion overbuffing and 3/5/7 Meta started) - and nothing happened.
You can be honest to yourself - your Devs don´t give a F about old
tank lines (even the russians, look at the IS4 which has issues too
for years). When WG starts listening to his community (at
least the contributors, this would be a good start i think) they
could have avoided SO MANY Problems caused in the last few month.

unability (whatever you say) and the playerbase has declined much

people who work on events work on balancing. A person who develops
sound does not develop models for instance. A person developing
maps does not review server stats/data. A development team has
people specialising in key areas. Not just a team of people who do
everything. As for the statement on the "decline in
numbers" - There are many reasons for this, some I understand as a
player, an employee and a general statistical and research geek.
Please take into account both of the above sentences and I
can only urge you to perhaps research information on the areas for
a fully informed opinion.

who stated it's strengths, but I also remember the stats at the
time and at the time the joy FV215B 183s would have with HESH and
the old FV215B HE rounds etc. There's more to a tank behaviour and
game performance than (as mentioned) the performance of people on
the test server. The key is not having a tank OP in the best hands
while at the same time not useless in the hands of inexperience.
For instance, in the old days, the E100 was also considered
silly strong, for a long time. These changes take a long time to
assess, develop and test different changes and "fixes" assess the
best solution (if there is one). Sometimes the changes work and
other times not at all (note the Maus line changes that took a lot
of changes and re-working). Balancing isn't as easy as just
changing numbers when there are so many variables and so many
things to constantly change and balance. As soon as you balance one
tank, you have to look at the balancing on the rest of the vehicles
due to the knock-on effect on them. I'm trying to
explain how the balancing changes can take so long in the instances
it has.

and not be so frustrated at the state it's in, that i want to
uninstall the game. I paid for that tank, my own hard earned money
... i didn't rob it, steal it or club someone over the head for it.
I paid quite a lot too .... but the tank is near unusable atm,
while i keep seeing russian after russian tank being fixed and
introduced into the game. What's the message here ? (for
some reason couldn't remove the bold in editing) Then what's
the explanation for the buffs to russian tanks ? 268 4, 430U
(which i will say again, shattered 3 lines that were doing just
barely ok E50M, 113 and 121), defender, lt-432, IS-3A (now),
t-34-85m and i could go on. I'll say it again, westerners in
general, want to have choices ... and the game is going for a
binary choice ... go russian or play with handicap. Right
now, the only thing that keeps me wanting to login and play, is the
desire to get more efficient during grinds, and the goal of getting
IS-4 (because ppl think it sucks and i find it challenging to grind
it), T57 and a few other tanks ... This will keep me busy for
another 2-3k games, after that i'm gone. I'm not sure if you can
see my history of purchases but i bought some stuff this yr, not a
lot but some. X4 foundations will be fixed in 5-6 months also, EVE
is calling me back, and there's this new game from the original
creators of Fallout that is in space, released next yr.
I love the game, but the problems that it has
... it's getting to be too much.
fabse, on 11 December 2018 - 03:04 PM, said: Here is my take on the matter:
Wot is a great game that I am enjoying tremendously. If course, I do not agree with some individual design decisions, but overall, the game has only become better over time. The problem is that this is not perceived as such by a potential new player. Such a player simply overwhelmed by the complexity of this game and the diversity it offers to players. Grinding is a time consuming process which gets worse for a new player who is really bad. To make matters worse, he is forced to play with horrible crews and stock tanks and very little guidance. It is only natural new players quickly drop the game. My suggestion is simple, goodies for new players, serious goodies: - Start with at least 2 good t8 premium tanks, maybe two or three t6 and t7 premium tanks. Low tier games are totally different from high tier ones. They are chaotic and random and follow no real strategy/meta. New players don't even know the high tier gameplay before they leave the game. - These tanks should be good representatives of their class such that new players can decide which kind of lines they want to start with. - These tanks should have a good crew, maybe 2-3 perks, such that they are actually competitive. - Lower (remove) the cost of several transactions for new players such during a learning period. This period is over after 5000 battles or one year. It should enable a new player to redo crew training (with gold but for free), sell tanks at full price, maybe even undo a research with XP refund. There should not be anything a new player can do wrong and learning by experimenting should be rewarded. - Ideally automate (if wanted) and or guide players through actions such as moving crew, retrain crew etc. - Remove pointless and confusing limitations (Barracks) so that new players can focus on what matters. - ... and much more.

We haven't got any update on that so far, however every other day

think it is good for them. Of course, I can not please all the
costumers, but at least I try to do my best. As long as the
costumers know that I do my best, from their POV things are quite
ok even if they are not perfect, The worst case is when the
costumers feel that I don't care about their feedback. All in all,
I guess this is all about now and here, with or without QB's video.

them with my own eyes, or when i can finally take the AMX CDC out
and not be so frustrated at the state it's in, that i want to
uninstall the game.
X4 foundations will be fixed in 5-6 months also, EVE
is calling me back, and there's this new game from the original
creators of Fallout that is in space, released next yr. eekeeboo: The book Going Postal actually touches more than just simple
marketing techniques and hyper generation (Yes I've read and own
ALL the Discworld books). WG is not the Reecher Guilt, we endeavor
to be Moist Von Lipwig, aim high and run at your goals. I hope you
remember to return once the WG Fest announcements have been made
and share your opinions
As for the CDC, is it
the MM's fault for the play style of the tank and the way it plays
or are there other things that affect it? Buggs to
those tanks or that they are/were relatively newly introduced? Like
other vehicles that have statements of being strong: E25, LEF, Type
5, Maus etc. There's a bigger picture on strong and weak tanks,
like the S.Conquerer.

- ... and much more.
eekeeboo: World of Tanks has always had a pretty steep learning curve,
with casual progression (for people like myself) key until you
actively take the initiative to learn and get better at the
game. Making/Letting new players who don't want to
learn or re-rolls begin with tier 8 Prems is an "interesting"
choice... something I personally don't see anything would good come
of. The other systems you mention are ways for the
game to monetise, like the barracks extension.

communicating enough. Maybe in Russia that is normal... but here in
the EU we love to be informed properly. This results in less
trust in Wargaming of the players. Another thing: begin this
year we were promised that WG would rework the gold ammo shooting.
We haven't got any update on that so far, however every other day
there is another '*** gold ammo'-topic on the forum. Maybe you
could start replying to those topics: 'We hear you, we are
currently reworking them. Our progress is [...insert progress
here...] and we are planning to launch it at [...date...]' eekeeboo: That promise is still being made/kept - WG Fest will release
more information on things like the premium ammo change mentioned
previously. When it comes to replying to topics, I literally do as
much as I humanly possibly can, but my interaction and engagement
also requires me to be on ALL social media platforms and other work
behind the scenes you will never see but are important for
communicating with players. That's why I've shared as frequently as
I can about the WG fest announcement.
TheDayWeDie, on 11 December 2018 - 03:28 PM, said: Well, I work in a company with probably more costumers than
Wargaming EU. Even if I don't like "passionate" feedbacks I
understood in time that a "passionate feedback" is more preferred
than no feedback at all. There is always a difference
between what I think it is good for costumers and what costumers
think it is good for them. Of course, I can not please all the
costumers, but at least I try to do my best. As long as the
costumers know that I do my best, from their POV things are quite
ok even if they are not perfect, The worst case is when the
costumers feel that I don't care about their feedback. All in all,
I guess this is all about now and here, with or without QB's video.
eekeeboo: And those customers who don't get what they personally want,
believe you don't care about their feedback. With a game/service
natured around Free-to-play the divisions in those customer
demographics are unbelievably huge and dynamic. The challenge we
always face and accept as part of this is that we need to try and
cover as many customer desires without alienating too many. The
problem with places like the forums is that the forums themselves
are generally a place for the most engaged and caring players and
still if every person here said the same thing, still would
represent a small % of the total player base. That's why
representation and other information and making sure I cover as
many community places as I physically can is so important.
