Quote 2.7 Discussing disciplinary actions
This category includes:
1. Creating posts or threads to discuss disciplinary actions taken against a player in the game
2. Creating posts or threads to discuss disciplinary actions taken against a character or account on the forums
If a member is found to have participated in such actions, he/she will:
• Be given a temporary ban from the World of Tanks forums, depending upon severity
Quote 2.4 Off Topic, spamming and trolling
This category includes:
• Excessively communicating the same phrase, similar phrases, or pure gibberish
• Creating threads for the sole purpose of causing unrest on the forums
• Causing disturbances in forum threads, such as picking fights, making off topic posts that ruin the thread, insulting other posters
• Making non-constructive posts
• Abusing the Reported Post feature by sending false alarms or nonsensical messages
• Numbering a thread, IBTL, TLDR, or any other fad statements
Please make sure that you post your new threads and postings in the appropriate forum. This helps your fellow players and us to maintain an overview and so be able to respond faster with an appropriate answer to your question. Before beginning a new thread, look to see if an active thread on that topic has already been established using the Search feature. If so, place your comments there instead. Keep discussions about one topic to one thread only.
Posts which drift off topic, or content-free posts will be edited or removed. Posting multiple messages with the same content across several forums is unwelcome and inappropriate, since such activities divide the targeted discussions and makes gathering feedback considerably more difficult for us. Such ‘cross posts’ will be merged, closed and redirected or removed. Before beginning a new thread, look to see if an active thread on that topic has already been established using the Search feature. If so, place your comments there instead. Keep discussions about one topic to one thread only.

2.1 Forum etiquette
Do not abuse others, make personal attacks or behave disrespectfully. This prohibition applies to both public threads and private messages (PMs). Disrespect can include
1. flaming;
2. trolling;
3. harassing or defamatory (insultingly refer to others people or groups of people; ongoing harassment to other people or groups of people). Harassment takes many forms, and is not necessarily limited to the type of language used, but the intent. Repeatedly targeting a specific player with harassment can lead to more severe action. The idea behind this is to prevent any one player from consistently being uncomfortable in the World of Tanks forums;
4. profanity;
5. inappropriate language or abbreviations;
6. personal attacks (this includes, but is not limited to, insulting a poster directly);
7. racial, religious, ethnic slurs or language;
8. sexual slurs (sexual preference, pornography, nudity, naked images or adult content); or similar or language.
If a member is found to have participated in such actions, he/she will:

Tanitha: Enter to open chat.
Type the message.
THEN control + enter to send that to both teams.
Or Enter to sent it to your team.
Green writing = to your team
White = to both teams.
That work?
I think you were just using contrl enter to open the chat. Not to send it.

first I thought other players were shooting them in the back by
accident then I thought that these are people who could not connect
to the game before the 30 second countdown ended but I've since
noticed that some peoples tanks don't join the battles until a
minute or so after the battle has begun so what causes it please,
is it people behind them shooting them in the back?

Link on message: #183432

Tanitha: If it was your team killing them, it would show, XXXXXXXX killed
XXXXXXXX so this isn't the case.
When it shows XXXXXXXXXX went up in flames, it means they quit the game.
I believe this is usually from people doing what is called /ragequit
Omg the other team has a IS7 and we dont? /ragequit
Omg this map again? I played this the last 3 games. /ragequit
Campinova? I don't like that map. /ragequit
Omg 5 arty on each side? /ragequit
Omg I'm a T3 and have t8's in the battle? /ragequit
Etc Etc Etc..
It would probably be nicer if the penalties for quitting where higher, to prevent this more, because its not very fair on the other 14 team mates.
As for the people who join 1 minute into the game, Some of these have slower computers that take a while to load up. Some have bugs that take them a while to load up. But often they are just ALT TABBED and reading the forums or something for 30 seconds. And they tab back to the game a bit later than they expected because they lost track of time.

I know that I break rules, but what can I do in situation like that?
He didn't break the rules, so I can't report him, or can I?
Quote Shooting/Tracking/Damaging your own team members on purpose is ban-able. This is what he did, He purposely shot and damaged and killed his team mate, thus breaking the rules, and thus got banned.
I would suspect that the Dev's took into consideration that he was provoked and decided to only ban him for two days, instead of five which is quite common for the first offense lately.
The correct procedure would have been to not break the game rules by shooting your own team. Taking a screen-cap of it, reporting it, dieing, losing the game, And then you would have been out a few K in credits for repairs, 2-3 minutes of your time, and the person who shot you on purpose would have been banned. But now instead, its likely both of you were banned because you both broke the game rules.
Killing a team member because they shot you, is not a acceptable excuse.
Neither is shooting or TKing them because they collided with you at the start of the game.
Or because they are capping and you want to kill.
Or because they drive a ARTY and you hate arty
Or because they are camping and you think they should be rushing.
Or because they called you a name in chat.
Or.... whatever reason.... You are NOT allowed to shoot your team members on purpose..
We all know accidents happen, that's a different topic.
We all know there are other options that "might" work better in the long run, like removing friendly fire all together, or, putting in a report AFker, TKer, Bot system at the end of each game. Etc Etc but that is also another topic..
Quote 2.1 Fair play principles
1. No intentional shooting or damaging of vehicles of your teammates.

But its a little harder to "capture" in one static screenshot. perhaps you could run fraps? and include a video. Or do multiple screenshots to capture the situation.
As for sending multiple photos into WoT its not a problem, But if your Email company only allows say 500k to be attached to emails, then you probably cant send more than one very high res photo. So there is ways around that, like cutting the photos down to a decent resolution like 1024x768 etc.

You are a "# Group: Members "
You are not "# Group: Beta Testers"
You need to get a invite closed beta key, and enter that. Using the same email etc.
You can get beta keys from websites that are giving them away. Try googling "wot world of tanks free closed beta key give away"
or something like that, you should be able to find a free closed beta key somewhere.

don't require any further testing.
New USA servers are put up.
Everyone is moved to the USA servers so the USA servers can be "tested".
To start with, the USA server's don't run very well, and they need upgrading, tweaking, etc etc to make them run well.
So your problem isn't, I'm having lag issues because I'm now on the USA server.
The problem is you are now on "new" servers, that aren't running perfectly. This is why everyone's on the USA servers so they can be tested and made perfect.
When the USA servers are perfect, then they will no longer need testing.

Try googling "WoT World of tanks Closed beta Key keys" or something similar there's usually a few mmorpg type websites out there that have keys to give away.

I personally like the idea of a break down after the game, saying what exp and credits you earned for what.
So a request for more of a breakdown has already been asked, and other posts exist on this topic.
So thread closed.

Tanitha: Why is your computer slow? Often a easy way is to Control, Alt,
Delete, bring up the system tools, check out your free unused ram
and processor use. After checking how much processor etc your
computer is using, then get a breakdown to see what programs are
using it.
Yesterday i logged in and played a game to find my ping was up to 400 and my fps was 5. i switched my graphics down to low and had another game, It was still the same, Then I cntrl alt deleted, and found I had a resident virus scanner (new) using 50% of my cpu and 50% of my memory.
I obviously uninstalled it..
The game has warping tanks, lag issues, etc etc at the moment, but those shouldn't be making you take 2-3 mins to load up. So id try the above for starters. Its quick and simple.

Archives\Beta\What is the best money / experience making tank?
Link on message: #182401

Link on message: #182401
Tanitha: I think the leopard and then secondly the luch, based on credits
earned with time played.
Because that's what you wanted? credits? quick? Not a 15 minute game?
You can play your main tank, and if you die early on, you can often get a game in on the leopard and another game in on the luch while you are waiting for your main tank to come back. 0 time lost a additional 10k each back from the leopard and the luch, so a additional 20k just for waiting for your main game to finish.
Sure you can earn more than 10k on a leopard, and in other tanks too. but the leopard can consistently get 10k profit, average, every game, win or lose, dead or alive (usually dead) Just by being in their base 30 seconds after game starts, scouting 5-10 tanks, killing a arty or two and then dieing, all over in 1.5 mins usually.
This leopard screencap was taken at 12.38 so that is 1 minute and 22 seconds or 82 seconds into the game.
Killed two arty, Capped 100%, won 12-1, game over..

Online Game... not that it was a Role Playing game.

Link on message: #182162

Tanitha: Sure MMO means "massive multiplayer online" however its meaning is
lots of people playing the same game.
1 million people playing online chess isn't a MMO, because only two people play against each other at once.
Its 500,000 games of "2 people" so not MMO by definition.
Similarly with WoT at this stage, its not "massive" amounts of people playing the same game, Only 15v's15, so it IMO at the moment falls into a FPS game. It was also dropped as a MMO from a gaming website for that reason, I think it was mmorpg.com
However when that world domination map comes out, then there will be 100,000's of people playing THAT game, THAT world. That changes ownership, and can be built on. So when its finished, then yes it should fall into a MMO based on its descriptions of whats coming.
All just a IMO.. : )

Archives\Beta\Questions\Please Explain Ricochete
Link on message: #181251
Quote First the server checks if there is a ricochet. And as I mentioned before all projectiles will ricochet if the angle of the hit is lower than 10 degrees, with one exception when the thickness of the armor is 3 times lower than the caliber of the projectile. So if there is no ricochet the projectile is rotated to normalize the angle and we proceed to calculate the thickness of the armor under the given slope (thickness/cosine of the angle between armor and the projectile - not 100% correct but close enough for an arcade). After that we check the table to see what armor-penetration capability the projectile would have at a given distance. The number we get is modified by gaussian(normal) distribution limited by +/- 30%. And finally we compare it to the armor thickness we calculated in the second step. If piercing number is higher we get penetration, if lower - ding.
Example: We have 100mm armor. And let's say the projectile with armor-penetration of 120mm on given distance can get through 110mm of armor. Let's say because of the impact angle the armor got "thicker" to 121mm. We roll the dice (distribution) and with some probability the penetration capability of the projectile might change to 110+/-33mm. If it changed to 121 and above - we get penetration. If below - ding.
There is also a normal distribution limited by +/- 50% to damage inflicted. It is in the plans to reduce limits to 30%.
Each tank has "weak spots" like visor, tracks, connection between turret and hull etc. If you hit them you get critical damage. The HE round "spreads" on impact over some area hence it's the best way to damage such weak spots. Also ammo rack, fuel tank and obviously the crew have some HP points so if you hit strong enough the spot on the tank behind which is ammo rack you can damage it or even blow up. You can kill crew member, set fuel tank on fire, etc. I don't have numbers for critical damage calculations. There is "ward-save"
for modules and crew - 60%-70%
chance that the tank will take on the damage instead of crew or
modules.
On top tanks are covered by "thin armor"
Due to limitation of the game engine tanks "grow" from the ground so there is no armor on the bottom.
